Braveheart Patrick Henry Analysis
Liberty is something that can motivate people to take drastic actions, even go into war. One piece
that exemplifies this is Patrick Henry s Speech to the Virginia Council, in which, Patrick Henry
claims that people should fight for their liberty. It can also be seen in the movie Braveheart, by Mel
Gibson, during William Wallaces speech to his soldiers. Both men use their emotionally charged
speeches to try to get their audiences to fight for their liberty. Both Patrick Henry and, the
character, William Wallace use the idea of liberty to motivate their audiences. When Patrick
Henry addressed the Virginia Convention, he used the ideals of liberty from an oppressor. Patrick
Henry once pleaded, Give me liberty or give me death, (85). In this quote Henry cries for a
government of his choosing, Henry is trying to exclaim for the audiencethat they should want to
live how they desire and not how someone else desires them to live. As a closing to his argument
this emotionally charged statement is how Henry tries to rally the crowd. Henry used emotion
throughout his speech, in the beginning Henry exclaimed, ... I consider it as nothing less than a
question of freedom or slavery... (83). He is telling the Convention that the British are practically
enslaving the colonists because they are forcing them around with soldiers. Henry also uses this to
motivate people to fight for their beliefs. Because Henry uses emotion, motivation, and rebellion
from oppression Henry focussed on

My client is a 36 year old Hispanic female. She has a five pack year history. Her health history
stated she suffers anxiety but currently is not receiving medical treatment for her condition. The
patient s psychosocial state appeared very anxious with increased respirations of
23 breaths per minute, heart rate of 102 and tightly grasping rosary in her hands. She mentioned to
the nurse that she was afraid to go back to surgery again . Waiting for surgery can result in
increased stress hormones during the preoperative period and may show as increased heart rate,
blood pressure and sugar levels (Selimen Andsoy, 2011).The client was informed that it was
common to be anxious and asked if there were any special concerns. She requested to bring her
cross into surgery with her, and the nurse confirmed that she could. The client s anxiety appeared to
decrease. The nurse also reminded the client she would receive medications to help alleviate her
anxiety.
My client underwent a three hour Open Reduction Internal Fixation of the Fibula and

Comparing Phaedo and Ecclesiastes
Separated by language, history and several hundred miles of the Mediterranean Sea, two of the
world s greatest cultures simultaneously matured and advanced in the centuries before the birth of
Christianity. In the Aegean north, Hellenic Greeks blossomed around their crown jewel of Athens,
while the eastern Holy City of Jerusalem witnessed the continued development of Hebrewtradition.
Though they shared adjacent portions of the globe and of chronology, these two civilizations grew
up around wholly different ideologies. The monotheistic devotion of Judaism that evolved in the
Hebrew landsstood in stark contrast to the Greek worship of polytheistic Olympians, a religion that
often tended more towards the rational and philosophic than... Show more content on

The notion that all things in the world take part in some perfect and incorruptible form, a focus of
the Phaedo, is an idea attributed by modern scholars not to Socrates but to Plato himself.
Ecclesiastes shows a similar removal, for though it clearly speaks the words of Solomon (who
predates the book by half a millenium), its actual author is unknown and is usually said to be the
prophet Koheleth, son of David. Both works thus impersonate the philosophies of an esteemed
ancient personage, but both clearly are impregnated by the thoughts of their authors.
An examination of contextual similarities reveals that both texts clearly laud the value of
wisdom. Koheleth says to have set [his] mind to study and to probe with wisdom all that
happens under the sun (1:13) in much the same way that Socrates dedicates himself to a life of
thought. Though Koheleth warns, as wisdom grows, vexation grows (1:18), he decides after
exploring the alternatives that vexation is better than revelry (7:5) and that wisdom is more of
a stronghold to a wise man than ten magnates that a city might contain (7:19). Socrates offers a
similar explanation: there is no way to escape form evil or salvation for it except by becoming as
good and wise as possible (107c d). Clearly these two men, aged and at a pinnacle of wisdom from
which they can view their prior follies,

Microscopy Is A Practical Field For Using Microscope
Microscopy is a practical field for using microscopes to view object that cannot being seen with the
naked eye or object that contained by the resolution range of the normal eye.
There are two fundamentally different types of microscope.
1. ELECTRON MICROSCOPE: Consist of electromagnetic lenses to focus a beam of light .
Having magnification power up to 200000.
LIGHT MICROSCOPE: consist of a single or a series of glass lenses to focus light in order to form
an image. Having maximum ability of magnification is 1500.
The simplest form of microscope consists of a single glass lense mounted in a metal frame called
magnifying glass. More advanced light Microscope is constant of more than one lense system is
known as COMPOUND MICROSCOPE.
THE COMPOUND MICROSCOPE:
The modern light microscopes is made up of more than one glass lense in combination. When an
object is placed at the focus of convex lense , its magnified, inverted and real image is obtained.
PARTS OF COMPOUND MICROSCOPE: It consist of different parts which is as follows

Opening image: The first image seen is of a girl s parents telling their daughter goodbye and to
have a good first day at school. The girl s mother is crying because unlike most kids her daughter
has never been to a real school. She is sixteen years old and has been homeschooled all her life.
Theme stated: I had a lot of friends in Africa. But so far, none in Evanston. This line basically
foreshadows how she has no friends at her new school so far... Which tells us she will meet new

The Biased Media Essay examples
In today s society television news is an entertainment medium which was intended to provide
information to the public on current issues, but that is not its prime function any more. It s also
meant to help viewers see issues from different perspectives. Being objective on a certain issue
cannot always exist so there is a biasof some sort in every news station. Each news station has a
specific point of view and they try to persuade the viewers to agree with them. To do this they use
specific evidence to support the idea, and specific language to help you to believe that idea.
The relationship between the media and politics has been going on for a long time. According to
Paul Starr s article `Political Networking the relationship began ... Show more content on

We should have the ability to watch a news station and get details and be able to decide on a
situation on our own.
There are many arguments when it comes to this issue. Some people think that the media has a
liberal bias; some people think that there is a conservative view. The real issue is that there is a
bias opinion and this is changing the way that people perceive the media. According to Tyler Cohen
`Media Bias Is Not a Serious Problem it doesn t matter that the media has a biased opinion. He
states that people are aware that the media is bias and because of that they keep in mind when
watching. He also states that people want to watch stations that have the same opinion as them
(2005). Most people to watch specific news stations that do have the same belief as them, but we
should be able to watch whatever station we want and be able to get the same type of information.
The question of the media having a liberal bias definitely been around for some time now.
Because the media has received so many complaints about having this slanted view some think
that the media has changed. According to E.J. Dionne s article `Liberal Media Bias Is a Myth the
media has gotten better. He states that on social and cultural issues, the media was reporting more
objectively (2002). In his article he brings up the issue that now that the media is trying to not be
so liberal they are now going to have a new bias. It is a constant battle.

Concept Of Absolute Purchasing Power Parity
Introduction and significance of the research question
Does the concept absolute purchasing power parity (PPP) stay true that the goods in one country
should cost the same in another country after implying the exchange rates? (For example, the
pound cost of imported goods should be the same as the price of the same goods being sold in the
UK). Absolute purchasing power parity is a concept with the assumption of goods having the same
price after exchange rates between countries. However, I want to find out if this is always true or
not since it plays an important role that differentiates from the relative purchasing power parity .
There is an assumption that if there are any deviations in the price in one of the two countries, then
the exchange rate and the relative prices should adjust to accommodate, equating to the level where
the basket of goods have the same price in these two countries (Moffatt, 2014).
The data and methodology
I will be comparing exchange rates between two countries, these are the UK (ВЈ) and the USA ($)
to see if the changes are enough to make any differences or whether just negligible. I will select
data from the year 1980 to 2015 in yearly intervals. Comparing each year with the previous year.
These will be compared using Excel and Minitab and displayed as a simple linear regression model.
The absolute PPP should mean that ERt = ERt 1 + u.
I will be using the formula ERt = a0 +bERt 1 + u = 0 and comparing that with the traditional ef =

Companies use databases for many purposes: to manage customer files, to track orders and
inventories, and for marketing purposes. An individual might set up a data base to track household
expenses or manage a list of family, friends, and business addresses. Teachers often set up a
database to track students grades ad other class information. A database enables the user to access

Reflection Paper On Being A Nurse
Being a nurse takes its toll on emotions and really puts through tough times with dying patients or
patients that are just plain out rude. And at first, I thought that being emotionally involved with
the patient was not allowed because it made it harder to do your job. I was wrong being
emotionally involved makes you a better nurse and makes it seem like you are an actual person
and not a mechanical being taking care of patients. We went to say goodbye. We went there for
comfort from our family. We went there to give comfort before the end. Arriving in Wyoming at
around eleven we wanted to see my auntRitti before she died. Getting to the hospital I was calm
and collected but as soon as I walked into the room my emotions were all scrambled. Her head
tilted back and her mouth was wide open so she could breathe, she was skinnier, pale, and there
were bags under her eyes. She was lying there motionless, the only thing that she could move were
her eyes. I only knew one way to handle a situation dealing with death, cry. After saying hello to my
aunt Ritti I said hello to my aunts Tuesday and Rhonda, uncles Daryl and David, and my mother s
parents. We stayed in the hospital talking and catching up and including my aunt in the
conversation. Around one in the morning my uncleDaryl sent us to go get some rest because the
plan was to see her off. The next morning we got up at six, arrived at seven and when we got into
her room my uncle Daryl said she had declined in the night so

Compare And Contrast Living In A Small Town
Life in the United States has evolved over many years. One particular form of evolution includes
cities and towns. Cities are far different now than from the first settlement in Jamestown, Virginia.
The question today is, which is better? Is it better to live in a large popular urbanized city or is it
more suitable to live in a small rural town. There are multiple pros and cons for either of the two
preferences. Every person is different and has their own opinion and preferences. Although I do
live in a small town I would prefer to live in the city. Cities are exceedingly superior due to goods
nearby, simpler transportation, a wide variety of activities, and many more. However, I am not
against living in small towns. By living in a city people are closer to sources of food. There is
no driving for twenty minutes for an individual if they must go to get groceries. They are much
closer and cuts down valuable time out of people s busy schedules. The amount of time for
driving to the nearest supermarket is much quicker when living in the city than a small town that
does not have a store to go to for purchasing food. The time factor is very important because of
many different plans that an individual could have going on throughout a day. Living in a smaller
town you must drive to a nearby city to be able to purchase... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Juicing Benefits
Ways To Achieve The Many Health Benefits Of Juicing
By George Green
Dec 24, 2010
To get the daily needed fruit and vegetable nutrients needed by our body, juicing is considered
one of the best ways to achieve it. Based on research, there are many health benefits we can get
out of consuming raw fruit and vegetables and juicing makes it possible for our body to absorb the
available nutrients from those types of foods.
When eating a whole food, some of the nutrients are not absorbed into the body, such as nutrients
that are locked in fibers that our body can t digest. And sometimes it takes a lot of time to digest
them. But through juicing, the nutrients are separated from the pulp making it easier for our body
to assimilate them.
But to start

their families. However; after our class visit to Cobbs Hill Manor on February 27th I believe that I
found my path in social work.
I have never pictured myself working with the elderly as they transition from living on their own

Some of the challenges social workers working in a facility like Cobbs Hill Manor Hill face are
things like clients feeling as if they are being pushed, potentially by their family, to leave their
homes. Which could make them feel as though they are losing their independence, and as a result
make them difficult to work with. A social worker would need to be able to understand how to
approach the client to help them reevaluate the situation in order to see the different opportunities
that come with staying there. Other challenges include things like helping a family transition
from not being the primary care takers of the individual, and helping to locate resource an
individual needs to be able to stay and afford the care. With that being said, I believe the greatest
reward would be able to witness a client realizing that getting older does not mean it s the end of
their life, and that there are still plenty of opportunities out there for them to

Merit pay is a term describing performance related pay. Its primary focus is used for helping
teachers improve their performance by learning from each other. Merit Pay can take the form of
a bonus or a permanent teacher salary increased. This motivates many teachers because they
believe they are being evaluated more fairly than traditional evaluation. Merit pay is important
to study because it s a one of the most controversial issue in the field of education and it does
have an effect on school finance in the future. We should be concerned about using merit pay in
our school system because most professions offer bonuses and salary increases for their
exemplary employees why should the education profession be any different? Shouldn t we try
and use incentives as we do with our students to motivate teachers to give their very best in
educating our future leaders of tomorrow. Merit pay will recruit and retain some of the nation s
brightest mind. Many people who have the capability to teach our students refused to do so due to
teacher pay but with merit pay many of these individuals may consider working in the education
profession. Relation to the Problem to the Specialization Merit Pay is a topic of investigation
because even though it rewards great teachers many lawmakers, educators, and teacher s union are

The Need to Support and Assist Employees
Throughout our career, we have been taught to check our personal problems at the door prior to
starting our work shift. In other words, personal problems are exactly what it is, personal , and
have no place in a work environment. In today s new economy, organizations are realizing the
importance of providing assistance to employees dealing with major personal problems. At
times, when an employee is having a personal problem at home, it can after their work
performance and can potentially disrupt the work flow of the organization. Industrial and labor
relations experts talk of a changing labor force and the need for employers to develop new
polices in response to the changing needs of their employees, if they wish to remain competitive
in an increasingly world economy (Kamerman Kahn, 1987, p. 2). I personally believe that
employers should provide assistance and be supportive of their employees. Unfortunately many
of us in the work force are presented with personal problems that are unforeseen. Organizations
need to be open minded in regards to these isolated issues and provide support during the
employee s difficult time. Emotions play a critical role in the success of every organization, yet
many people in key decision making positions, leaders with outstanding technical skills, fail to
understand the role emotions play in a work setting (Reece, Brandt, Howie, 2011, p. 190). My

Conventional Sewage Treatment plants are the most common system for wastewater treatment in
the United States. These systems are found in all urban communities but only in a few rural

people in the United States yet few of them understand the scientific principles involved with
treatment. In addition many people are even unaware of where their wastewater goes after it has

biological, chemical and physical process involved with the treatment of wastewater through the
use of conventional sewage treatment.
The first step involved with wastewater treatment is the transport of the wastes from houses and
industry to the treatment plant. This is done through a complex matrix of pipes and lift stations. All
sewage goes to the treatment plant using the laws of gravity. Since the flow of gravity requires the
sewage to head continually

According To Marx, Society Is Primarily Divided On Those
According to Marx, society is primarily divided on those who own property, For Marx, he
believes that there are only two primary groups in society and these classes are the bourgeoisies
and the proletariats whose social relationship is the motivational force for change in capitalism. But
before humans can do anything, they must satisfy certain their basic needs, they must feed, clothe
and house themselves though productive labor, as it is the This approach is called by Marx, the
Materialist Conception of History. Because humans produce their own means of life, the only
available means would determine their level of existence, as the productive forces of society
consist of the means of productionand labor power, enabling them to... Show more content on

With everything bought and sold at its value, with the capitalists pocketing the surplus value made
from the labor of the proletariats.
Now Marx isn t saying that all components of capitalism are bad, it s just that the capitalist class
must exploit the proletariats to remain on top of the hierarchy. They must continue to exploit to
build their wealth at their best interest, as their class division entails them to continuously do to
continue the wealth bloodline
In this context, Marx realizes that the productive forces in a society develop faster than production
relations, and they may also conflict with each other. Formally breaking down what consisted of the
hierarchy structure that depersonalized many, in which freedom was limited because one s social

replacing the old socio economical production relation with a new one. According to Marx, there
are five socio economic formations. They were primitive communal, slave owning, feudal, capitalist
and communist . Marx claims that each class conflict between each production has ultimately
reached their final stage of revolution after transitioning from one socio economic format to
another. This underlined the progressive character changes of the social development scheme. With
Marx believing that the changes made in society would correspond to the mode of production in
society by replacing the exploitative mode of

Defining Naturalness And Its Impact On The Environment
IV.Defining Naturalness Another potential, but overall less effective, goal for conservation is
naturalness, which is also defined differently across the literature. Crumpacker (1998) describes
three components of naturalness, two of which the author argues are quantifiable. The first part of
naturalness is the degree to which the system would change if humans were removed (Crumpacker
1998). The next two components of naturalness are the amount of cultural energy that is required to
maintain the currently existing system and the number of native speciesthat currently live in the
system in comparison to the abundance of species that lived in the area prior to European
settlement (Crumpacker 1998). Anderson (1991) describes naturalness as a continuum between
complete naturalness, which would be an ecosystemvirtually unaffected by humans, and complete
unnaturalness, which would be an environment that is completely influenced by humans, such as a
city. This scale of naturalness is established by assessing the extent to which ecosystems have been
modified by humans and how much a damaged ecosystem would recover if humans were removed
(Anderson 1991).
Ridder (2007) also addresses two interpretations of naturalness that are similar to the definitions
proposed by Anderson (1991). One interpretation by Ridder (2007) is that naturalness refers to
processes that do not involve human intervention, which is similar to the spontaneous condition of
nature that would exist in the

The Existence Of God And Theism
There have been many discussions on how the world has been created and whether there is a true
designer of the universe or rather it happened through a big bang. H.J. McCloskey on being an
Atheist argues throughout his article that theism is not a belief that is rational, but a is something
that should not exist, just as Godhe believes does not. Throughout this paper will be the discussion
of the Cosmological, teleological, design arguments, and how he refutes these arguments to
invalidate the existenceof God and theism. McCloskey throughout his article refers to
cosmological, teleological, and design arguments as proofs. Stated from Merriam Webster a proof
is, Something which shows that something else is true or correct . This goes to show that
McCloskey is arguing the existence of Godand is giving these three arguments the basis that they
are correct. Although as stated in Approaching the Question of God s Existence presentation?
States, I do not think that is what these arguments do, I do not think they give 100% proof of God
s existence And if that is what you re thinking about the arguments, then that may be why you don t
think the arguments work . This goes to show that McCloskey is basing almost everything on these
arguments and is not looking at all the resources at a whole. As foremen also explains to use for
these arguments is the Best explanation approach (Foreman). Through this it is able to use these
arguments to best explain the reasons as to why

The doctor does not desire power or management to cure a patient. Instead, a doctor needs
experience, passion, and the will to decide when and how to use medical technology. In both
Belkin and Slaters essays the government is seen as an obstacle to allow the doctors be in
control of their own job. Government is looking for ways on how to control the people
regardless if it is providing funds or not. Peoples lives should not be based on what the
governments visions are . The use of medical technology should stand in the hands of the doctors
with no pressure included.Neurosurgeon Rees Cosgrove stated If we do not do this right and
carefully, and , you know properly... I do not think we will have another opportunity (242). There
is a certain amount of pressure on the doctors shoulders to perfect these experiments and devices.
Because there is no time for trial and error doctors are not able to test the procedure several times
before actually executing it . There are no animal models of DBS for anxiety or depression, so
these forays into the human brains are largely unguided despite all the high tech equipment (242).
Once again, government is limiting the doctors options creating less precise results for their
research. Spending so much time with anyone creates a certain level of attachment, let alone
between a doctor and his or her patient. This attachment or bond can expedite the curing period of a
patient.

The Ones Who Walk Away By Ursula K. Le Guin
Ursula K. Le Guin is an award winning author who has made great contributions to the science
fiction genera. Le Guin s stories often evoke readers to view society through a different lens. In
the short story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas Le Guin challenges societies conventions
of imagination and believability within a narrative. I will argue, that the story The Ones Who Walk
Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin, intertwines two contradictory story worlds in an
attempt to critique the limitations we impose on our imagination due to the understanding that
we have never experienced a society that does not poses evil. I intend to analyze the rules of the
two following story worlds that Le Guin presents; the first story world where happiness is the
only thing that the inhabitants experience and the second story world where happiness is
experienced when evil presents itself in the society. The two story worlds come together to push
the readers to accept a world that simply functions on its own without evil. Our ability to use our
imagination as readers and writers has shifted due to the fact that we live in a world that has
endured chaos, evil, negativity and profound immorality. In the beginning of the narrative, we are
captivated by the peaceful and happy ambience of the first story world that Le Guin presents. The
rules of the first story world are the omission of evil/conflict and the absence of a hierarchy among
the inhabitants. We take note of the fact that Le Guin

There are many different ideas and thoughts on religion and anti religion. There is not a certain
set amount of religions, but rather a broad spectrum of them. In Wise Blood, the author Flannery
O Connor, created a character who has developed different beliefs throughout his life. Hazel
Motes, or Haze, was born into a Christian family with a grandfather who was a preacher. He had
intent to become one himself until WW2 drastically altered his beliefs. Haze entered the war as a
Christian, but came back an atheist. Hazel, newly released from the Army, has fled after finding his

From the time he gets back from WW2, he creates the Church Without Christ which is him
preaching his anti religious beliefs on the streets. Throughout his time in Taulkinham, Haze
keeps seeing Jesus in his mind, sees signs of Christianity everywhere, and is mistaken as a
preacher on multiple occasions. In the essay, Jesus, Stab Me in the Heart! : Wise Blood,
Wounding, and Sacramental Aesthetics, the author Robert H. Brinkmeyer, talks about Hazel
not being able to escape Jesus. Identifies Haze as a Christian malgre lui whose integrity lies in
his not being able to escape from his haunting vision of Christ (Brinkmeyer, 71). As Brinkmeyer
suggests here, Hazel continues to see Jesus in his mind, but as a ragged figure. The boy didn t
need to hear it. There was already a black wordless conviction in him that the way to avoid Jesus
was to avoid sin. He knew by the time he was twelve years old that he was going to be a preacher.
Later he saw Jesus move from tree to tree in the back of his mind, a wild ragged figure motioning
him to turn around and come off into the dark where he was not sure of his footing, where he
might be walking on the water and not know it and then suddenly know it and drown (O Connor,
16). Along with these appearances, Hazel encounters many religious and Christian related signs.

St. Augustine Religion
St. Augustine is considered one of the most profound popes that the Catholic Church has ever had,
not only from his popular texts, but the fact that he unified members of the church, and up bring
their mural at a turbulent time. St. Augustine was born in modern day Algeria(then part of the
Roman Empire) in 354 AD. Eventually, near the age of 17 18, he travelled to Carthage to excel in
his studies. Here, he met the future of the mother of his child, and remained with her for over
fifteen years. Soon however, he eventually left his old hedonistic life behind to join the priesthood.
This is when he would eventually start to write more of his popular work.
St. Augustine wrote many texts, reportedly up to one hundred. The most popular however ... Show

This included stealing of his neighbors fruit for no other reason besides the fact that he wanted to
commit the sin. Then he would boost about sleeping around with women even though he hadn t
because he wanted the attention. These experiences are how Augustine believed that humans were
inclined towards original sin, and could only be saved from the grace of God. Next, in his work
about the Holy Trinity, Augustine wrote about how the Holy Trinity was one substance,
including the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, and not separate. This does not, however, make
three gods or three creators. The Father, the Son and the Spirit are each one Person, and any
person affirms himself for himself (De Trin, VII, 11). Lastly, in the City of God, Augustine wrote
that the fall of the Roman Empire was not at the hands of the Christians. In this, he also
emphasized his original position on original sin, and include statements of good versus evil.
Furthermore, Augustines work were vital to debating points in the first council that defined the
Holy Trinity(First Council of Nicaea), set up by Constantinople. Augustine spent his final days in
Hippo. Here, he carried out a miracle of curing a sick man. Apart from this however, he fell ill
while Germanic Tribesmen called Vandals invaded the Roman Empire territory in Africa, and took
over Hippo. Shortly after, he died from his illness on August 28th, 430(age 75)

Analysis Of Petruchio In Taming Of The Shrew
During the play Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, Petruchio is a very intriguing character.
One of the more notable things he does in the play is tame Katerina. However while the play is
called taming of the shrew, I believe his intentions are to have a loving relationship with his
spouse. However I don t believe that was the case the whole time! Petruchio originally did not
have feelings for Kate because he claims during the beginning of the play that he travelled to
Pertua to marry a woman with a rich father. Whilst attempting to tame her he claims he is enjoying
doing so, I believe that he is enjoying because he is getting to spend time with her, while falling in
lovewith her and not even realizing it. After Petruchio has starved her and deprived her of sleep
as well as other things, he makes a real attempt to be nice to Katherine and I believe that s what
really tamed her. Overall I believe Petruchio s original intentions were to use Katherine and marry
her for her wealth. But over time he began to fall deeply in love with her. We see this by Petruchio
putting a great amount of effort into his attempt at taming Katherine. We see this during his
thoughts and speech about marriageand happiness. And lastly, we see this through his flirty and
affectionate gesture towards Kate. Through these things I believe that Petruchio as well as the
audience learn a valuable lesson about love, you cannot force it.
Throughout the play, Petruchio seemed to put a lot of effort into

Respect in the Military Essay
Respect in the Military It has been said that military standards are higher than the country demands
of its president. And that is true. President Clinton lied under oath. Perhaps that is not perjury, but
an army officer could not do that. Nor could army personnel have extramarital affairs. Kelly Flynn
found that out when she lost her position in the Air Force and years of pilot training went down the
drain. But for the Commander in Chief, it is another story. While it is true that the Commander in
Chief is able to get away with misbehavior, military personnel have been warned not to criticize
him. In fact, the various branches have been reminding troops that they can be prosecuted for
publicly condemning the Commander in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, just because Clinton admitted to doing the misdeeds, he cannot be criticized by military
members. In other words, one cannot accurately talk about President Clinton without getting into
serious trouble. The military may seem unnecessarily restrictive or antiquated but there is a
reason for the mandate. Officers must respect their superiors. It is simple as that. The reasoning
behind that is that routines and orders must be obeyed. After all, soldiers are being trained and
must be ready to go into combat at any time. The reason that the personnel cannot criticize their
leader should be obvious. If a war or conflict were to break out, it would significantly affect
performance as well as the world s perception about the United States. Thus, no matter how one
feels, there must be respect given to every single officer all the way up the line to the commander
in chief. The fact that Clinton himself has not been in compliance is immaterial. While he is the
Commander in Chief he is still considered to be a civilian. While it is important to give the
president respect, respect to Military Superior Commanding Officers and Non Commission Officers
is perhaps even more pertinent. If theoretically, when one is in the trenches with superiors, they
must be ready to accept orders willingly. The only way to accomplish this is with respect and
military courtesy. Thus, the fundamental purpose of having and enforcing a chain of command with

Women s Rights In China And Saudi Arabia
There are countless injustices experienced by people throughout the world today, but one in

more commonly known as infanticide, which is an extremely unjust way to treat women. Another
example of females not having equal rights to men arises in the South African country, Lesotho.

The Outsiders By S.e Hinton
Have you ever been judged by people who don t really know who you are? Maybe it was because
of the way you looked, or your social class. This is a problem that occurs all too often, and it
happens everywhere. S.E Hinton, author of The Outsiders, noticed this happening in her own
neighbourhood, so she made this a huge part of the theme of her book. She wanted people to
stop judging others before they really knew who they were, and their life circumstances. In this
book there are two main social classes she focused on, the Socs, they were rich, and lived in the
nice part of town, and the Greasers, who were poor and didn t have a great place to live. This

It is very unusual for Socs to hang out with Greasers, especially if they are popular. Cherry is a
cheerleader, and is one of the most popular girls in their school. If anyone sees her hanging
around the Greasers, all that could change. One night Ponyboy, and another boy from the gang,
Johnny, were in the park alone. Some Socs pulled up in a fancy car. When the Socs came after

them as how they want to know them, dirt. Socs don t understand how hard life is for them, and
how some of them have to live. Most of the Greasers parents don t even care about them. When

Tumour-Associated Macrophages Case Study
2.3.5. Tumour associated macrophages
Macrophages are inherently plastic cells, and this adaptability can be exploited by the tumor to
elicit distinct functions at different stages of tumor progression. Less information is available about
the complexity of individual macrophage activities and their associated molecular profiles in cancer
. Many subpopulations of TAMs exist within a tumor, which probably change temporally during
tumor development and geographically depending upon of their location within the tumor micro
environment. For example, TAMs recruited to hypoxic areas promote tumour angiogenesis,
whereas TAMs at the tumor stroma border play an active part in invasion and angiogenesis.
TAMs produce epidermal growth factor (EGF) that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Association of cancer cells with TAMs throughout the tumour significantly increases their motility,
this gets further amplified when cancer cells are found in close proximity to perivascular TAMs.
Moreover, cancer cells were observed to invade blood vessels only where perivascular TAMs were
located.
Reduction in macrophage infiltration, lead to concomitant decrease in circulating cancer cells. In
addition, the EGF CSF paracrine loop is also important for intravasation, as blocking either
signaling pathway lead to a significant reduction in the number of blood borne cancer cells.
Cancer cells and macrophages also use collagen fibres as tram lines to rapidly travel through the
stroma. Many of these fibres are tethered to blood vessels, resulting in cancer cells accumulating at
these vessels. The density of these fibres is regulated by macrophages, at least during development.

Drunk Driving And Driving
Throughout the United States, drunk driving is responsible for 28 deaths per day and nearly
10,000 deaths per year. In some states like Utah, there is a push to lower the legal intoxication
limit from 0.08 BAC to 0.05 BAC. In Massachusetts, there is a push to get ignition interlock
devices into cars to prevent people that are under the influence of alcohol from getting behind the
wheel. Combining these two aspects to clamp down on drunk drivingwould be considered strict
enforcement of laws. There are many people that are in full support of this reduction and the use of
the ignition interlock systems. However, there are people that are trying to make a stand against
these topics. Lowering the legal intoxication limit and increasing the use of ignition interlock
systems will create a safer environment for society by saving lives, reducing crime, and increasing
overall traffic safety.
Most consumers of alcohol are unaware to the effects of driving after ingesting alcohol into their
systems. Driving impaired is one of the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States. Thats
due to the driver being impaired. To be considered an ВЁimpaired driverВЁ, a person must have a
blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher. Experts say that even at 0.08 BAC, drivers are too

In the beginning of the story the plot stays the same for the most part... other than Beowulf being
motivated by other things than glory or pride. When Grendel is killed in the movie they
introduce his mother, they don t show her face but they hint to her being very seductive by the
way she talks. Grendel s mom doesn t really seek revenge in the movie but Hrothgar asks
Beowulf to kill her because of a prior incident (Grendel is actually Hrothgar s son) with Grendel
s mom. Beowulf obliges and goes to kill G s mom but when he enter her den he is almost
instantly taken away by her beauty, this causes Beowulf to have a lapse in judgement and
impregnate G s mom. This is very different from the book because in the book he kills G s mom
in a battle to the death then cuts the head off of Grendel s dead body as illustrated Armless,
exactly as that fierce fighter had sent him out from Herot, then struck off His head with a single
swift blow (542). Also after Beowulf was seduced he goes back to Hrothgar and lies to him and
the Danes saying that he has killed Grendel s mother. This is the major plot difference in the
movie and the book. The overall theme/message is also different from the book to the movie.
For example in the book the book the theme is good vs. evil, Beowulf being good and Grendel
being. This however is not the case in the movie, the theme in the movie is more like don t cheat
on your spouse and don t lie to the people you rule or else it will come back to haunt you. This
quite the difference, but I believe the writers of the movie did this to make a point or to send a

Good Faith Exception
Police officers, like the citizens they protect, can make mistakes. I do not believe that police
officers should be held liable for acting in good faith. According to the United States Supreme
Court, per Brinegar v. United States, because many situations which confront officers in the course
of executing their duties are more or less ambiguous, room must be allowed for some mistakes on
their part. But the mistakes must be those of reasonable men, acting on facts leading sensibly
leading to their conclusions of probability. (PoliceMag, 2007). The Fourth Amendment protects the
citizens of the United States from unreasonable searches and seizures. (U.S. Const. amend. IV).
Over the course of history, the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of protecting the policeofficers
from any liability. My focus will be on the good faith exception and the exigent circumstance.
The Good Faith Exception
First, the good faith exception protects law enforcement officers who had reasonable intentions, but
made mistakes with their actions. The Supreme Court first introduced the good faith exception in
United States v. Leon. The Court maintained that the exclusionary ruleis not relevant in situation
when police officers act with reasonable dependence on a search warrant that later proves to be

How Long Should A Roof Fail Essay
Homeowners often ask the question, how long should a roof last? , yet there is no simple answer
to this query. Numerous factors play a role in the lifespan of a roof, from the type of shingles
selected, the climate in which the residence is located and roof maintenance. Sadly, many
homeowners have a new roofput on the home, then forget about it until a problem arises. They fail
to inspect the roof regularly, then when a storm hits or snow comes down, they hope and pray it
holds up. Don t fall into this category. With proper roof maintenance, a homeowner can feel secure,
knowing their home is protected by a strong and stable roof.
How Long Should A Roof Last?
The average roof, one constructed with asphalt shingles, should last a minimum of 20 to 25 years in
the event it is properly maintained. As the vast majority of homes in the United States currently
have an asphalt shingle roof, this applies to most homes. Metal roofs tend to be extremely durable
and can last 40 years or more, while tile roofs have an average lifespan of 50 years. Invest in a slat
roof and it may easily outlast the lifespan of the homeowner!

Choosing A Dating Service Is Choice Essay
The problem with choosing a dating service is choice too much of it! There are hundreds of
services. To choose a dating service that s right for you, you need to be clear about what exactly
you re looking for. As a newcomer to online dating, unfamiliar with all the options, you might be
a little hazy on this front. Here s a rundown of the main areas in which dating services differ
which will help you draw up a dating service wish list to compare sites to. Relationship options
One of the most obvious things to think about when choosing a dating service is what kind of
relationship(s) you re looking for. Some services, including top dating sites like Yahoo!
Personals (singles dating) and eHarmony (soulmates) focus on one type of relationship only.
The advantage of choosing a dating service that s dedicated to a particular type of relationship is
that everyone will be on exactly the same page as you are in terms of intentions. If you re not
clear what your intentions are, you might be better choosing a dating service where members can
pursue different types of relationships within the same site. Again there s no shortage of choice.
However, at some multi relationship services it s not immediately clear who s looking for what
and up to you to figure it out, using the search tools. If this sounds like trouble (and it can be),
choose a service like Lavalife which has separate communities within the site for each type of
relationship. Members Think about the

Medical coders, are always working side by side with medical billers and although many people

Evil And Innocence In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
Evil is a word that is rooted in thoughts, and actions. The concept of evil is a convoluted force. In
Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, morals are reexamined through each tale. Chaucer discusses
moral evil and its relevance to innocence, specifically in the Pardoner s Tale, with the three rakes,
and in the Prioress Tale, with the young boy. The seducing of innocence to become dishonorable
is evil. All things wicked start from innocence. Innocence is beautiful. The three rakes and the
young boy illustrate the most simplest form of innocence which reserves the revelation of evil.
In the Pardoner s Tale, the three rakes insist on discovering who smote the man s heart in two
(Chaucer 355). The murder, Death is dangerous and the rakes courageously took this opportunity
to help themselves and others from the danger. This demonstrates the rakes ability to want to
improve other people s lives while also showcasing the righteousness they contain. The
murderer, Death, shall be slain and the three men pledged their word of honor to live and die for
the other,/ as though each were the other s brother born (357). Chaucer demonstrates the virtue
these men have for themselves and for each other. Although, they drink too much they still
embody supportive and honorable friends. The hope that death shall be dead, if they catch him
(357) depicts the beauty in their hopes and innocence. The beauty of the widow s son, seven
years of age, in the Prioress Tale, paints the unknown virtue during the walk to and from school.
The mother has always teaches her son to worship our blissful Lady,/ Christ s dear Mother, and
he did not forget it (373). Chaucer proves that innocent children will always learn quickly (373).
The young child studies his book and he heard the Alma redemptoris being sung. The young child
innocent and interested, listened to the words and notes/ until he knew the first verse all by heart
(373). However, the innocent boy does not at all what this Latin meant,/since he was of so young
and tender an age (375). Chaucer makes known that this young boy is intelligent and innocent as he
listens to his mother and is curious for his age. The innocence in the rakes and the young boy is
beautiful and tender,

The Aging Process Essay
Humanity has come a long way as we evolve and adapt to the changing environment. Through the
years, we have managed to overcome several limitations, which in the past were nothing more than
dreams. We succeeded in landing on the moon and communicating over long distance, yet there are
still some boundaries we have yet to cross despite our best effort. Agingis an inevitable process of
nature. While we cannot stop the ticking clock in our body, we have made it possible for aging to
be delayed and relieved to a great extent through advance technology and modern governance. High
tech equipments and medications are available for the treatments of more illnesses as our
understanding of medicine improves and governments nowadays are doing... Show more content on

For this group of people, most governments intervene to help to subsidise for treatments they
genuinely need.
Modern governments promise old age security, which ensures that their citizens can fend for
themselves during old age. The approaches, however, may vary from society to society. In some
like The United Kingdom and Canada, government pensions are distributed to the elderly. In
some others such as Singapore, the people are compelled to provide in advance for their old age
dependency. Some societies have laws in place to enforce children to take care of elderly parents.
For example, in Singapore, elderly parents may file in to the court if their children do not provide
for them. However, there are various financial concerns about these methods. In the case of
government pensions, the heavy spending of public fund on the old aged may take a toll on other
areas of the nation s development. Thus a method that works in a society may not work in another
and sometimes, multiple approaches have to be taken.
However, better healthcare and protection from government result in rising age expectancy, which
is a double edged sword as on one hand, people live longer as shown in report (Friedland and
Summer, 2005, Fig 1 2) and on the other hand, the proportion of aging population increases if the
younger generation are not reproducing enough, and this is exactly the trend now in developed
nations. In the

  • 2. Braveheart Patrick Henry Analysis Liberty is something that can motivate people to take drastic actions, even go into war. One piece that exemplifies this is Patrick Henry s Speech to the Virginia Council, in which, Patrick Henry claims that people should fight for their liberty. It can also be seen in the movie Braveheart, by Mel Gibson, during William Wallaces speech to his soldiers. Both men use their emotionally charged speeches to try to get their audiences to fight for their liberty. Both Patrick Henry and, the character, William Wallace use the idea of liberty to motivate their audiences. When Patrick Henry addressed the Virginia Convention, he used the ideals of liberty from an oppressor. Patrick Henry once pleaded, Give me liberty or give me death, (85). In this quote Henry cries for a government of his choosing, Henry is trying to exclaim for the audiencethat they should want to live how they desire and not how someone else desires them to live. As a closing to his argument this emotionally charged statement is how Henry tries to rally the crowd. Henry used emotion throughout his speech, in the beginning Henry exclaimed, ... I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery... (83). He is telling the Convention that the British are practically enslaving the colonists because they are forcing them around with soldiers. Henry also uses this to motivate people to fight for their beliefs. Because Henry uses emotion, motivation, and rebellion from oppression Henry focussed on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing Phaedo and Ecclesiastes Separated by language, history and several hundred miles of the Mediterranean Sea, two of the world s greatest cultures simultaneously matured and advanced in the centuries before the birth of Christianity. In the Aegean north, Hellenic Greeks blossomed around their crown jewel of Athens, while the eastern Holy City of Jerusalem witnessed the continued development of Hebrewtradition. Though they shared adjacent portions of the globe and of chronology, these two civilizations grew up around wholly different ideologies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The notion that all things in the world take part in some perfect and incorruptible form, a focus of the Phaedo, is an idea attributed by modern scholars not to Socrates but to Plato himself. Ecclesiastes shows a similar removal, for though it clearly speaks the words of Solomon (who predates the book by half a millenium), its actual author is unknown and is usually said to be the prophet Koheleth, son of David. Both works thus impersonate the philosophies of an esteemed ancient personage, but both clearly are impregnated by the thoughts of their authors. An examination of contextual similarities reveals that both texts clearly laud the value of wisdom. Koheleth says to have set [his] mind to study and to probe with wisdom all that happens under the sun (1:13) in much the same way that Socrates dedicates himself to a life of thought. Though Koheleth warns, as wisdom grows, vexation grows (1:18), he decides after exploring the alternatives that vexation is better than revelry (7:5) and that wisdom is more of a stronghold to a wise man than ten magnates that a city might contain (7:19). Socrates offers a similar explanation: there is no way to escape form evil or salvation for it except by becoming as good and wise as possible (107c d). Clearly these two men, aged and at a pinnacle of wisdom from which they can view their prior follies, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The real issue is that there is a bias opinion and this is changing the way that people perceive the media. According to Tyler Cohen `Media Bias Is Not a Serious Problem it doesn t matter that the media has a biased opinion. There is an assumption that if there are any deviations in the price in one of the two countries, then the exchange rate and the relative prices should adjust to accommodate, equating to the level where the basket of goods have the same price in these two countries (Moffatt, 2014). The data and methodology I will be comparing exchange rates between two countries, these are the UK (ВЈ) and the USA ($) to see if the changes are enough to make any differences or whether just negligible. I will select data from the year 1980 to 2015 in yearly intervals. Comparing each year with the previous year. These will be compared using Excel and Minitab and displayed as a simple linear regression model. The absolute PPP should mean that ERt = ERt 1 + u. Cities are far different now than from the first settlement in Jamestown, Virginia. The question today is, which is better? Is it better to live in a large popular urbanized city or is it more suitable to live in a small rural town. There are multiple pros and cons for either of the two preferences. Every person is different and has their own opinion and preferences. Although I do live in a small town I would prefer to live in the city. Cities are exceedingly superior due to goods nearby, simpler transportation, a wide variety of activities, and many more. However, I am not against living in small towns. By living in a city people are closer to sources of food. There is no driving for twenty minutes for an individual if they must go to get groceries. They are much closer and cuts down valuable time out of people s busy schedules. The amount of time for driving to the nearest supermarket is much quicker when living in the city than a small town that does not have a store to go to for purchasing food. In other words, personal problems are exactly what it is, personal , and have no place in a work environment. In today s new economy, organizations are realizing the importance of providing assistance to employees dealing with major personal problems. At times, when an employee is having a personal problem at home, it can after their work performance and can potentially disrupt the work flow of the organization. Industrial and labor relations experts talk of a changing labor force and the need for employers to develop new polices in response to the changing needs of their employees, if they wish to remain competitive in an increasingly world economy (Kamerman Kahn, 1987, p. 2). I personally believe that employers should provide assistance and be supportive of their employees. Unfortunately many of us in the work force are presented with personal problems that are unforeseen. Organizations need to be open minded in regards to these isolated issues and provide support during the employee s difficult time. Emotions play a critical role in the success of every organization, yet many people in key decision making positions, leaders with outstanding technical skills, fail to understand the role emotions play in a work setting (Reece, Brandt, Howie, 2011, p. 190). • 24. Defining Naturalness And Its Impact On The Environment IV.Defining Naturalness Another potential, but overall less effective, goal for conservation is naturalness, which is also defined differently across the literature. Crumpacker (1998) describes three components of naturalness, two of which the author argues are quantifiable. The first part of naturalness is the degree to which the system would change if humans were removed (Crumpacker 1998). The next two components of naturalness are the amount of cultural energy that is required to maintain the currently existing system and the number of native speciesthat currently live in the system in comparison to the abundance of species that lived in the area prior to European settlement (Crumpacker 1998). Anderson (1991) describes naturalness as a continuum between complete naturalness, which would be an ecosystemvirtually unaffected by humans, and complete unnaturalness, which would be an environment that is completely influenced by humans, such as a city. This scale of naturalness is established by assessing the extent to which ecosystems have been modified by humans and how much a damaged ecosystem would recover if humans were removed (Anderson 1991). Ridder (2007) also addresses two interpretations of naturalness that are similar to the definitions proposed by Anderson (1991). One interpretation by Ridder (2007) is that naturalness refers to processes that do not involve human intervention, which is similar to the spontaneous condition of nature that would exist in the ... I will argue, that the story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. I intend to analyze the rules of the two following story worlds that Le Guin presents; the first story world where happiness is the only thing that the inhabitants experience and the second story world where happiness is experienced when evil presents itself in the society. The two story worlds come together to push the readers to accept a world that simply functions on its own without evil. Our ability to use our imagination as readers and writers has shifted due to the fact that we live in a world that has endured chaos, evil, negativity and profound immorality. Later he saw Jesus move from tree to tree in the back of his mind, a wild ragged figure motioning him to turn around and come off into the dark where he was not sure of his footing, where he might be walking on the water and not know it and then suddenly know it and drown (O Connor, 16). Along with these appearances, Hazel encounters many religious and Christian related signs. These appearing signs create ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

St. Augustine Religion St. Augustine is considered one of the most profound popes that the Catholic Church has ever had, not only from his popular texts, but the fact that he unified members of the church, and up bring their mural at a turbulent time. St. Augustine was born in modern day Algeria(then part of the Roman Empire) in 354 AD. Eventually, near the age of 17 18, he travelled to Carthage to excel in his studies. Here, he met the future of the mother of his child, and remained with her for over fifteen years. Soon however, he eventually left his old hedonistic life behind to join the priesthood. This is when he would eventually start to write more of his popular work. St. Augustine wrote many texts, reportedly up to one hundred. The most popular however ... Then he would boost about sleeping around with women even though he hadn t because he wanted the attention. These experiences are how Augustine believed that humans were inclined towards original sin, and could only be saved from the grace of God. Next, in his work about the Holy Trinity, Augustine wrote about how the Holy Trinity was one substance, including the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, and not separate. This does not, however, make three gods or three creators. The Father, the Son and the Spirit are each one Person, and any person affirms himself for himself (De Trin, VII, 11). Lastly, in the City of God, Augustine wrote that the fall of the Roman Empire was not at the hands of the Christians. In this, he also emphasized his original position on original sin, and include statements of good versus evil. Furthermore, Augustines work were vital to debating points in the first council that defined the Holy Trinity(First Council of Nicaea), set up by Constantinople. Augustine spent his final days in Hippo. Here, he carried out a miracle of curing a sick man. Apart from this however, he fell ill while Germanic Tribesmen called Vandals invaded the Roman Empire territory in Africa, and took over Hippo. • 32. Analysis Of Petruchio In Taming Of The Shrew During the play Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, Petruchio is a very intriguing character. One of the more notable things he does in the play is tame Katerina. However while the play is called taming of the shrew, I believe his intentions are to have a loving relationship with his spouse. However I don t believe that was the case the whole time! Petruchio originally did not have feelings for Kate because he claims during the beginning of the play that he travelled to Pertua to marry a woman with a rich father. Whilst attempting to tame her he claims he is enjoying doing so, I believe that he is enjoying because he is getting to spend time with her, while falling in lovewith her and not even realizing it. After Petruchio has starved her and deprived her of sleep as well as other things, he makes a real attempt to be nice to Katherine and I believe that s what really tamed her. Overall I believe Petruchio s original intentions were to use Katherine and marry her for her wealth. But over time he began to fall deeply in love with her. We see this by Petruchio putting a great amount of effort into his attempt at taming Katherine. We see this during his thoughts and speech about marriageand happiness. And lastly, we see this through his flirty and affectionate gesture towards Kate. Through these things I believe that Petruchio as well as the audience learn a valuable lesson about love, you cannot force it. Throughout the play, Petruchio seemed to put a lot of effort into ... • 33. Respect in the Military Essay Respect in the Military It has been said that military standards are higher than the country demands of its president. And that is true. President Clinton lied under oath. Perhaps that is not perjury, but an army officer could not do that. Nor could army personnel have extramarital affairs. Kelly Flynn found that out when she lost her position in the Air Force and years of pilot training went down the drain. But for the Commander in Chief, it is another story. While it is true that the Commander in Chief is able to get away with misbehavior, military personnel have been warned not to criticize him. In fact, the various branches have been reminding troops that they can be prosecuted for publicly condemning the Commander in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, just because Clinton admitted to doing the misdeeds, he cannot be criticized by military members. In other words, one cannot accurately talk about President Clinton without getting into serious trouble. The military may seem unnecessarily restrictive or antiquated but there is a reason for the mandate. Officers must respect their superiors. It is simple as that. The reasoning behind that is that routines and orders must be obeyed. After all, soldiers are being trained and must be ready to go into combat at any time. The reason that the personnel cannot criticize their leader should be obvious. If a war or conflict were to break out, it would significantly affect performance as well as the world s perception about the United States. Thus, no matter how one feels, there must be respect given to every single officer all the way up the line to the commander in chief. The fact that Clinton himself has not been in compliance is immaterial. While he is the Commander in Chief he is still considered to be a civilian. While it is important to give the president respect, respect to Military Superior Commanding Officers and Non Commission Officers is perhaps even more pertinent. If theoretically, when one is in the trenches with superiors, they must be ready to accept orders willingly. The only way to accomplish this is with respect and military courtesy. Thus, the fundamental purpose of having and enforcing a chain of command with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In a few places such as China and India, parents are willing to kill their daughters at birth since it is more honorable for a family to have a son. This is more commonly known as infanticide, which is an extremely unjust way to treat women. Another example of females not having equal rights to men arises in the South African country, Lesotho. Women encounter a problem when attempting to acquire large sums of land; whereas, men can simply buy whatever their money can purchase. My final third world example emerges in the middle eastern country, Saudi Arabia. One of the lesser injustices faced by women is their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Outsiders By S.e Hinton Have you ever been judged by people who don t really know who you are? Maybe it was because of the way you looked, or your social class. This is a problem that occurs all too often, and it happens everywhere. S.E Hinton, author of The Outsiders, noticed this happening in her own neighbourhood, so she made this a huge part of the theme of her book. She wanted people to stop judging others before they really knew who they were, and their life circumstances. In this book there are two main social classes she focused on, the Socs, they were rich, and lived in the nice part of town, and the Greasers, who were poor and didn t have a great place to live. It is very unusual for Socs to hang out with Greasers, especially if they are popular. Cherry is a cheerleader, and is one of the most popular girls in their school. If anyone sees her hanging around the Greasers, all that could change. One night Ponyboy, and another boy from the gang, Johnny, were in the park alone. Some Socs pulled up in a fancy car. I ve been cussed out and sworn at, but nothing ever hit me like that did. Johnnycake made a kind of gasp and his eyes were smoldering. This is used to explain what Socs really think of all of the Greasers. This is why it hurt Ponyboy so much. The Socs don t think twice about who they really. They only know them as how they want to know them, dirt. Socs don t understand how hard life is for them, and how some of them have to live. Most of the Greasers parents don t even care about them. Tumour associated macrophages Macrophages are inherently plastic cells, and this adaptability can be exploited by the tumor to elicit distinct functions at different stages of tumor progression. Less information is available about the complexity of individual macrophage activities and their associated molecular profiles in cancer . Many subpopulations of TAMs exist within a tumor, which probably change temporally during tumor development and geographically depending upon of their location within the tumor micro environment. For example, TAMs recruited to hypoxic areas promote tumour angiogenesis, whereas TAMs at the tumor stroma border play an active part in invasion and angiogenesis. TAMs produce epidermal growth factor (EGF) that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Association of cancer cells with TAMs throughout the tumour significantly increases their motility, this gets further amplified when cancer cells are found in close proximity to perivascular TAMs. Moreover, cancer cells were observed to invade blood vessels only where perivascular TAMs were located. Reduction in macrophage infiltration, lead to concomitant decrease in circulating cancer cells. In addition, the EGF CSF paracrine loop is also important for intravasation, as blocking either signaling pathway lead to a significant reduction in the number of blood borne cancer cells. Cancer cells and macrophages also use collagen fibres as tram lines to rapidly travel through the stroma. Many of these fibres are tethered to blood vessels, resulting in cancer cells accumulating at these vessels. The density of these fibres is regulated by macrophages, at least during development. In some states like Utah, there is a push to lower the legal intoxication limit from 0.08 BAC to 0.05 BAC. In Massachusetts, there is a push to get ignition interlock devices into cars to prevent people that are under the influence of alcohol from getting behind the wheel. Combining these two aspects to clamp down on drunk drivingwould be considered strict enforcement of laws. There are many people that are in full support of this reduction and the use of the ignition interlock systems. However, there are people that are trying to make a stand against these topics. Lowering the legal intoxication limit and increasing the use of ignition interlock systems will create a safer environment for society by saving lives, reducing crime, and increasing overall traffic safety. Most consumers of alcohol are unaware to the effects of driving after ingesting alcohol into their systems. Driving impaired is one of the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States. Beowulf obliges and goes to kill G s mom but when he enter her den he is almost instantly taken away by her beauty, this causes Beowulf to have a lapse in judgement and impregnate G s mom. This is very different from the book because in the book he kills G s mom in a battle to the death then cuts the head off of Grendel s dead body as illustrated Armless, exactly as that fierce fighter had sent him out from Herot, then struck off His head with a single swift blow (542). Also after Beowulf was seduced he goes back to Hrothgar and lies to him and the Danes saying that he has killed Grendel s mother. This is the major plot difference in the movie and the book. The overall theme/message is also different from the book to the movie. For example in the book the book the theme is good vs. evil, Beowulf being good and Grendel being. This however is not the case in the movie, the theme in the movie is more like don t cheat on your spouse and don t lie to the people you rule or else it will come back to haunt you. According to the United States Supreme Court, per Brinegar v. United States, because many situations which confront officers in the course of executing their duties are more or less ambiguous, room must be allowed for some mistakes on their part. But the mistakes must be those of reasonable men, acting on facts leading sensibly leading to their conclusions of probability. (PoliceMag, 2007). Over the course of history, the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of protecting the policeofficers from any liability. My focus will be on the good faith exception and the exigent circumstance. The Good Faith Exception First, the good faith exception protects law enforcement officers who had reasonable intentions, but made mistakes with their actions. To choose a dating service that s right for you, you need to be clear about what exactly you re looking for. As a newcomer to online dating, unfamiliar with all the options, you might be a little hazy on this front. Here s a rundown of the main areas in which dating services differ which will help you draw up a dating service wish list to compare sites to. Relationship options One of the most obvious things to think about when choosing a dating service is what kind of relationship(s) you re looking for. Some services, including top dating sites like Yahoo! Personals (singles dating) and eHarmony (soulmates) focus on one type of relationship only. The advantage of choosing a dating service that s dedicated to a particular type of relationship is that everyone will be on exactly the same page as you are in terms of intentions. If you re not clear what your intentions are, you might be better choosing a dating service where members can pursue different types of relationships within the same site. Again there s no shortage of choice. However, at some multi relationship services it s not immediately clear who s looking for what and up to you to figure it out, using the search tools. If this sounds like trouble (and it can be), choose a service like Lavalife which has separate communities within the site for each type of relationship. Members Think about the ... • 45. Evil And Innocence In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales Evil is a word that is rooted in thoughts, and actions. The concept of evil is a convoluted force. In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, morals are reexamined through each tale. Chaucer discusses moral evil and its relevance to innocence, specifically in the Pardoner s Tale, with the three rakes, and in the Prioress Tale, with the young boy. The seducing of innocence to become dishonorable is evil. All things wicked start from innocence. Innocence is beautiful. The three rakes and the young boy illustrate the most simplest form of innocence which reserves the revelation of evil. In the Pardoner s Tale, the three rakes insist on discovering who smote the man s heart in two (Chaucer 355). The murder, Death is dangerous and the rakes courageously took this opportunity to help themselves and others from the danger. This demonstrates the rakes ability to want to improve other people s lives while also showcasing the righteousness they contain. The murderer, Death, shall be slain and the three men pledged their word of honor to live and die for the other,/ as though each were the other s brother born (357). Chaucer demonstrates the virtue these men have for themselves and for each other. Although, they drink too much they still embody supportive and honorable friends. The hope that death shall be dead, if they catch him (357) depicts the beauty in their hopes and innocence. The beauty of the widow s son, seven years of age, in the Prioress Tale, paints the unknown virtue during the walk to and from school. The mother has always teaches her son to worship our blissful Lady,/ Christ s dear Mother, and he did not forget it (373). Chaucer proves that innocent children will always learn quickly (373). The young child studies his book and he heard the Alma redemptoris being sung. The young child innocent and interested, listened to the words and notes/ until he knew the first verse all by heart (373). However, the innocent boy does not at all what this Latin meant,/since he was of so young and tender an age (375). Modern governments promise old age security, which ensures that their citizens can fend for themselves during old age. The approaches, however, may vary from society to society. In some like The United Kingdom and Canada, government pensions are distributed to the elderly. In some others such as Singapore, the people are compelled to provide in advance for their old age dependency. Some societies have laws in place to enforce children to take care of elderly parents. For example, in Singapore, elderly parents may file in to the court if their children do not provide for them. However, there are various financial concerns about these methods. In the case of government pensions, the heavy spending of public fund on the old aged may take a toll on other areas of the nation s development. Thus a method that works in a society may not work in another and sometimes, multiple approaches have to be taken. However, better healthcare and protection from government result in rising age expectancy, which is a double edged sword as on one hand, people live longer as shown in report (Friedland and Summer, 2005, Fig 1 2) and on the other hand, the proportion of aging population increases if the younger generation are not reproducing enough, and this is exactly the trend now in developed nations.
