The Design Of The Antipsychiatry Coalition
The second website chosen for review under chapter four is titled The Antipsychiatry Coalition .
The latter is actually a movement whose members created this website to help them deal with the
stigma and stereotyping that is faced by people who have received psychiatric treatment
(Antipsychiatry, 2015). The Antipsychiatry Coalition website mainly assists people who feel that
harm and pain has been inflicted on them as a result of them suffering from a psychiatric
condition. In most cases, people usually associate mental illnesses such as psychosis with
complete lack of knowledge of one s autonomous being (Hochwälder, 2013). Consequently,
mentally ill patients as well as those placed in psychiatric facilities are often branded as zombies
(Hochwälder, 2013). Therefore, the recovery process of such people is often difficult because
they face humiliation verbally or physically from others. As such, this website is very useful to
people who are trying to liberate themselves from the stigma that comes with being a psychiatric
patient. The design of the Antipsychiatry Coalition website is such that it makes use of links to
provide information on various issues that revolve around mental illness and psychiatry
(Antipsychiatry, 2015). For instance, the link on myth of psychiatric diagnosis enables the reader
to read and learn about the things that people believe about psychiatry yet they are false. There are
also additional links such as psychiatric drugs, suicide,

Lymphatic Cancer
The lymphatic system helps to protect us from infection and disease. It s part of the body s
immune system. Lymph fluid passes through lymph nodes which are connected by a network of
lymph vessels. The nodes are found throughout the whole body. My understanding of the lymphatic
system is that it is a one way drainage process that transports fluid from your body s tissues into the
bloodcirculation, it fights infections and gets rid of waste products produced by your cells.
Lymph fluid normally flows through the network of lymph vessels that connect to a group of
lymph nodes. The nodes, which are about the size of a baked bean and are located in specific
parts of your body act as a filter, destroying or trapping anything harmful that the body... Show

But where the tissue could be degenerated through extensive exposure to toxins it can cause the
cells to divide and reproduce so that it creates a mass of the cells, ultimately a tumour. This
tumour then takes over the tissue. Extensive exposure to toxins can lead to this build up of
cancerous cells and weakened defence from the tissue. Our lymphatic system here is paramount
as it helps to shift toxins from the body so that they are flushed out of the body. If the lymphatic
system though is damaged or struggling in any way it cannot perform this function. If an area of
the body is constricted over a long period of time or there is a tightening or pressure applied to it
regularly such as ill fitting clothes or tight bras then this can constrict the lymphatic flow cause
blockages and build up of toxins that would normally flow out of the body easily. This restriction
and blockage means that less oxygen and fewer nutrients are delivered to where they are needed.
Ultimately, long term starvation of the tissues and accumulation of toxins can lead to degeneration,
which is linked to cancer, and often linked to breast cancer for

Inflation And Unemployment Rate In The United States
Over the last few years GDP, inflation, and unemployment rates have fluctuated. Currently, they
seem fairly stable. GDP is at a 2.1% growth rate. The trend hasn t changed much over time. It seems
that the only thing that has really shrunk throughout time with GDP is the amount of exports the
US sends out, whereas personal consumption, government spending, and investment added
percentage points to the growth rate. With the growing GDP, unemployment rate appears to be
decreasing. While it is at 4.5%, this is significantly lower than it has been in the past. The growth
of GDP has allowed for new investments in technology and being able to find new ways to produce
goods and services, thus causing problems with unemployment. Despite the fact... Show more

The unemployment rate was going down, but the inflation and GDP growth rate were constantly
fluctuating. Starting in 2003, the GDP growth rate was at a meager 2%, but that quickly jumped
to 7% by 2003. Unemployment went from nearly 6% in 2002 down to roughly 4.5% by 2007.
The rate of inflation, between 2004 and 2006, varied around the 3% mark, hitting a max of 4.7%
and a minimum of roughly 1.7%. The data from the graphs shows that the rates of GDP and
inflation began to drop more significantly as 2007/2008 was approached, and the unemployment
rate began to skyrocket. The recession wasn t a good time for the economy of the United States.
There wasn t much income, prices dropped, even though this didn t benefit consumers much
because they couldn t afford it anyway, and many people lost their jobs. Simply looking at the
growth rate of GDP shows that something was not right. By January of 2009, the rate had
dropped to 8%. Unemployment jumped from a rate of 5% to 9% in less than a year. So many
people lost their jobs because there wasn t enough money in the economy to keep them around.
Even today there are still a lot of people that are unemployed because they cannot find work. The
inflation rate during the recession increased to 4% in January of 2008. By July, it hit at nearly
6%. But, by July of 2009, it rapidly decreased to 0%. The recession hit the United States economy
pretty hard. People couldn t find

Stress In Fortune Cookie
Can failure and disappointment, create anxiety and addiction for people? This rash assumption
could be true or false, depending on their state of being and attitude towards life. It can produce
pessimistic thoughts such as should I give up? or why am I even doing this? But can also produce
optimistic thoughts that will lead them down a path, full of confidence and positivity. Ultimately,
with all things considered the real question is, will a person, let failure and disappointment uplift
their ability to become a better them, or let frustration and lack of success lead them to a crash of
their long lasting life, potentially leading them into an unfortunate trap of superstition or drugs, like

When Selby Jr. nearly survived and the hospital released him, he published in 1964 his first
novel called, Last Exit to Brooklyn, which soon became an international best seller, due to its
harsh reality of a world populated by brutal factory workers and nihilistic cross dressing drug
attics. After this hit, his heroin and drinking addiction began to catch up to him. He used the
sixty thousand dollars he made of the book for drugs and drinks, also hanging out with crooks
and junkies to get high, in which he believed provided and offered him support and comfort, but
these things soon led him into a massive and unstoppable misery. Selby Jr. later moved to the
Los Angeles, California to try and get away from the New York drug scene, but of course he fell
into the Los Angeles drug scene as well. After a few years living a terrible life Selby Jr. knew he
had to change or die, so in the next thirty one years he became completely sober and wrote six
books, depicting the disease of the human condition, as he focused on channeling his rage into his
writings. On April 26, 2004 Hubert Selby Jr. died of chronic pulmonary disease, he was

The Teaching Styles of the Apology of Plato an the Gospel...
Socrates and Luke are both considered to be great educators. They have both influenced countless
people with their teachings. However, comparing the two is slightly strange since Socrates is the
subject of the story, which is told by Plato, and Luke is the teller of the story of Jesus. A
comparison can be made between the two as Socratesis a great teacher while Platois mostly silent
and Luke, while not overly prevalent in the his story can be compared to other accounts of the
story of Jesus among which his by far the most didactic. But when you are comparing the two you
must keep in mindthat you are in actuality comparing four and also that while the story teller is

So you also, when you have done all that you were ordered to do, say, В‘We are worthless slaves;
we have done only what we ought to have done! (Luke 17:7 10)
Socrates uses much the same method when he is offering a rebuttal to Meletus accusation that he is
deliberately corrupting the young. He says,
What follows, Meletus? Are you so much wiser at your age than I am at mine that you
understand that wicked people always do some harm to their closest neighbours while good
people do them good, but I have reached such a pitch of ignorance that I do not realize thisВ… I do
not believe you, Meletus, and I do not believe that any one else will. (Plato 25d e)
Both Jesus and Socrates here have both made fairly convincing arguments for some fairly
unconvincing points. Jesus tells the apostles that basically they are slaves and they should like it,
while Socrates tries to convince the jury that he has done no harm to the structure of Greek society
with his radical philosophies. They manage to argue these unlikely lines of reasoning somewhat
successfully by leading the listener through a series of progressing questions with very obvious
answers until a fairly unlikely, but seemingly rational conclusion is drawn. Interestingly, this form
of education is known as the Socratic method as Socrates was the first to use it. Probably the most

Automated Behavior Analysis Paper
The Boston Marathon bombing is instructive in regard to automated behavior analysis. Had a
system existed with the capacity to detect when the Tsarnaev brothers placed their devices and
walked away, flag it as an unusual event and alert observers to this occurrence, law enforcement
personnel could have been notified and the area cleared. Additionally, after being alerted to this
suspicious behavior, authorities could have actively tracked their movements and directed law
enforcement to their location, resulting in a manhunt measured in hours rather than days. Although
automated behavior analysis may not have outright prevented the bombing, the benefit of increased
public safety, via casualty reduction and quicker suspect apprehension, is difficult to refute. The
Algorithm Based Object Recognitions and Tracking (ABORAT) system offers the best solution for
implementing a surveillance system based on automated behavior analysis. Its ability to interface

ABORAT provides a solution to these privacy related concerns as well. The use of smart
cameras coupled with its distributive nature means images are processed and analyzed by the
cameras rather than a human observer. As was previously noted, images are only transmitted
when useful to the operator (Appiah Hunter, 2009, p. 3), therefore, surveillance systems become
less obtrusive by way of observers viewing less video. It is true that observers would have the
ability to access the cameras in real time, but training, supervision and agency policies could be
established to set limits on how and when direct access would occur. While not a be all and end all
solution to privacy, ABORAT is a step closer to achieving a balance that results in the protection of
individual liberties...in the pursuit of national security (Prieto, 2009, p.

Women s Role For A Management Job
Mothers are held to a higher standard than fathers may when it comes to proving competence.
Therefore, a Mother who is also a manager and takes time off such as leave, leads to perceptions
that she is not well suited for a management job, According to Gill and Davidson (2001), long
hours, frequent travel and attendance at work related functions are essential for mothers who seek
advancement in managerial or professional jobs. These authors concluded that work and family
identities were incompatible in the minds of many professionals and employers. It is however
interesting to note that women and men are entitled to take time off work following childbirth
known as parental leavebut A study by (Suk, 2010) shows that women take 98 % of all unpaid
parental or maternityleave, even though this leave is available to both men and women which
reinforces the stereotype of women being the main caretaker of children, Additionally the
provisions of these schemes aim to ensure that the mother, can maintain her position in the labour
market despite taking time off to care for her child , however this is not necessarily the case as
women are prone to discrimination and stigmatization following childbirth. Parental leaveschemes
vary in their duration, and in their benefit provision, as the UK provides statutory maternity leave
of 56 weeks and provision of statutory maternity pay (SMP) which is paid for up to 39 weeks and
includes 90% of the employees average weekly earnings before tax,

The Song Ten Minutes Ago, Is From Rodgers And Hammerstein...
The song Ten Minutes Ago is from Rodgers and Hammerstein s Cinderella. A musical adaption
of the classic fairytale by the same name, it became a musical sensation when Richard Rodgers
and Oscar Hammerstein transformed it into a live musical television broadcast in 1957. Starring
Julie Andrews, it retold the fairytale of a young girl living a miserable life under the roof of her
evil stepmother and her three equally vicious stepsisters. With the Prince s Ball nearing, the four
women in her family were planning to go, leaving Cinderella at home on the night of the ball.
When all hope seemed lost, Cinderella s Fairy Godmother appears, granting her wishes by
transforming her from rags to riches, and giving her a pair of glass slippers. Cinderella was able
to go to the ball unrecognized, under the condition to be home by midnight, when the spell wore
off. At the ball, she meets the prince and there is immediately chemistry, but she rushes to leave
before the clock strikes twelve, in fear of the prince seeing her for who she really was and being
disgusted by her true self. As she escapes the castle, she loses one of her glass shoes on the steps
of the castle. Leaving it behind, she makes it home without being seen by anyone, and resumes
her life as a poor girl being abused by her family. The next day, the prince announces a search for
Cinderella, not knowing her name or remembering her face. He went around town and asked
women to try on the glass shoe, believing that he would

Essay on History of Childhood
Childhood is usually understood as a set of experiences and behaviours, gained in the early
stages of the human existence, considered as the preparation for the adult world. However, the
history of childhood is a very complex topic and it has become a very influential area of study in
recent years. In 1962, the Centuries of Childhood by Philippe AriГ©s introduced the idea that
childhood was a new creation developed in recent centuries and as a concept it was believed to be
nonexistent before the seventeenth century. This concept means that there was no awareness of the
process of childhood. In several studies of the medieval period, AriГ©s noticed that childhood was
not acknowledged or even attempted to be portrayed during this period. For... Show more content

He believes that it is at that age that reason starts to develop until finally the child becomes an
adult. In Emile Rousseau emphasises that nature wants children to take advantage of being
children before being adults and there is a period of acquiring knowledge before living in the
real world. A theory of innocence of the child emerged giving a need to protect children from the
harsh reality of the adult world. Childhood has its own ways of seeing, thinking, and feeling which
are proper to it/ child s mind considered as a blank state to be inscribed by experience: the infant is
often compared to a white paper to be written over or to a plastic substance (wax) to be molded
According to Alan Richardson, childhood gained a central position through Romantic Literature,
due to its artistic and reinvigorating movement during the eighteenth century. The supreme faculty
of mind is reason by stressing strong emotions and imagination, which is the key reason to the
shaping of creative power. Childhood acquired a sense of spirituality attached to its phenomenon; it
became increasingly valued by adults, since children represented hope and progress within society.
Childhood therefore became the supreme symbol of celebrating the cult of nature, the purity of the

Social Media And Social Networking Essay
If asked, would you be able to explain what the definition of social media is? Social media is the
noun used to define websites that enable users to create and share content or to participate in
social networking. Now you may wonder, what is the difference in social media and social
networking? Social networking is the practice of expanding the number of one s business and/or
social contacts by making connections through individuals, often through social media sites
such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. (cite) | Statistics show that most children get
introduced to cyberbullying when they fully understand how to use the internet. The majority
of children have admitted to harassing or being bullied on a social media website from the age
nine to eighteen. The gender of the child also makes a difference according to some poles taken.
Girls are more likely to spread rumors through the virtual world, whereas; boys are more
expected to comment and post antagonizing pictures and videos. (good and interesting
information to have but the transition from different social media sites to the bullying
paragraph is rapid and just thrown in there) Crazy to think but the birth of social media was in
1997. The first social media site that everyone can agree actually was social media was a website
called Six Degrees. It was named after the six degrees of separation theory and lasted from 1997 to

The Vs. Mathematical Model
V.MATHEMATICAL MODEL Although there are differences between the architectures
discussed so far, they however have 3 similar duties they perform [16] namely; 1) Infrastructure
maintenance of the peer peer system: This task involves handling the periodic arrival and
departure of peers to and from the network. Prompt update of the indices of newly arriving peers
and ensuring of connectivity among peers is also important. 2) Query handling: This involves
the use of efficient mechanisms for propagating queries and returning responses. The target is
effective search into the network with minimum resource usage. 3) File transfer: This has to do
with the reliability of the file transfer between peers. In all the 3 architectures, once the requested
file has been located, a direct connection is set up between the two peers involved and the file
download follows. These similarities and differences are what have been captured by the
mathematical model presented in [16]. To capture the various characteristics, the peer peer
system was modelled as a multiple class closed queueing network [16]. Each class comprises of
a fixed number of peers, represented by N= (N (1) .........N(c)), where C represents the number of
classes. Workload is generated by peers online when they generate queries or download files, they
also increase the service capacity of the system as more peers move from off line

Civil War Was A Tragic War For America
On April 12, 1861 the Confederates bombarded Union soldiers at Fort Sumter, South Carolina.
This day is known in history as the day the Civil War started. While most of the battles were
fought in Virginia and Tennessee, the Civil War was fought in thousands of places. Some of the
places other than Virginia and Tennessee included the following: Pennsylvania, Texas, New
Mexico and the Florida coast ( Civil War Facts ). The last battle was fought at Palmito Ranch,
Texas, on May 13, 1895, but the end of the war was on April 9, 1865 when Robert E. Lee
surrendered the Confederate army to Ulysses S. Grant. While the Civil War was a tragic war for
America it was also a very important war. The Civil War allowed the nation to reunite and the
southern states weren t able to secede. Also, slavery was put to an end, it wasn t officially
outlawed by the 13th Amendment, but slaves were set free at the ends of the war. The Federal
Government proved itself supreme over the states and industrialism began due to the increase of
wartime production and creation of new technology ( Effects of the Civil War ). These are just a

Project on Settlement of Grievance
1.1 INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY
A grievance is a complaint formally stated in writing. Management should be concerned with both
complaints and grievances, because both indicate potential problems within the workforce. A
grievance is a sign of the employee s discontent with the job and its nature. Grievance is caused due
to the difference between employee expectation and management practice, so management should
take a great consideration while dealing with grievance for the smooth functioning of the
organization.
A grievance is a sign of an employee s discontentment with his job or her relationship with his
colleagues. Grievance generally arises out of the day to day working relations in an organization.

While giving Ayurvedic treatment to a person to cure a particular disease, the physical, mental,
emotional and spiritual well being is taken into consideration. The best part of acquiring an
Ayurvedic treatment is that if the prescribed doses of medicine are taken, the diseases can be
cured in the most effect way. The Ayurvedic medicines generally come in the form of powders,
tablets, decoctions, and medicated oils, that are prepared from natural herbs, plants and minerals. In
addition, the diseases treated and cured by Ayurvedic medicines do not cause any side effects.
According to Ayurveda, the structural aspect of every individual is made up of five elements
earth, water, fire, air and space. The functional aspect of the body is governed by three biological
humors. Traditional techniques and processes are used to prepare the medicines at home, while
certain amount of mechanization is inevitably used for large scale production. The beauty of the

The United States Of America
The modern society is work driven that people need to work hard to realize the general
community development goals and personal goals. Thus, work has become an integral part of the
day to day living of an average American. One needs to always have something to do in mind and
strive to grow on the job to experience greater financial success and skill development. Whether or
not a person has multiple work opportunities or succeeds in their work life is influenced by
multiple factors, some of which are within the control of the individualin question. The United
States of America has a unique work culture that is predominantly shaped by the way that the
society is stratified and the assertions that people build towards their work life. However, one thing
that remains certain is the way that culture affects the direction that a person takes in employment,
on top of the individual ability to overcome social obstacles in order to secure employment that is
favorable to an individual in terms of skill and preference. Suffice to say, the milestones attained in
one s work life is contingent to the institutional and cultural support availed by their external
environment, personal psychological strength and belief also plays a part.
Growing up as a member of a minority group in American does mean that a person needs to
embody a positive attitude works. One needs to be sure that someday, he will have to step out and
secure employment that will help attain self sustenance and at times

My Dream Career
The rise in numbers for doctors are growing and many people don t understand all the aspect that
it takes to even be considered to become a doctor. The years of education that are required depend

lot and takes time away from planning further along. Although the path to this career is hard, but it

The lifestyle of a phyisican is very stable since the pay for the job is high, but it depends a lot on

average Physician in Neurology receives is between $200,419 $269,254. (Salary.com). The range

bullies and taken under the wing by the well mannered, black belted handyman. Both the original
Karate Kid, released in 1984, and the 2010 remake made an impact on our culture, and they both

Some may say love is a curse while some may say love is a blessing, because of the actions it

Additionally, Romeo s decision to kill himself without any genuine reasoning after hearing about

Abstract Over a three week time span I was able to successfully identify an unknown
microorganism by combining the results of several tests. The first test was the Gram stain test
which showed the microorganism was Gram positive and rod shaped. Using an Unknown
Identification Flowchart, I proceeded to inoculate a Starch plate. In week 2, I analyzed the Starch

The decolorized Gram negative cells are stained pink. With the results from the Gram stain I was
able to follow the Unknown Identification Flowchart to the next step, which was to prepare for the
Starch Hydrolysis Test by inoculating a starch plate. Starch is a polysaccharide made up of glucose
molecules. Some bacteria have an enzyme called amylase which breaks starch down into glucose
subunits. The Starch Hydrolysis test is used to determine the production of amylase. Iodine, which
is the mordant used in Gram staining, is used in this test to detect the presence of starch. In order
to do the Starch Hydrolysis Test I first inoculated a starch plate by using aseptic technique. I
streaked the middle of the starch plate with the bacteria into a single line. Then, I let it incubate
overnight at 37В°C. In week 2, after I added several drops of Gram s iodine to the starch plate it
was ready to be analyzed for starch hydrolysis. The iodine complexes with starch to form a blue
black color in the culture. Clear halos surrounding colonies is the result of their ability to digest the
starch due to the presence of amylase. With the results of the Starch Hydrolysis Test I preceded to
the final test which is the Citrate Test. Using aseptic technique, I streaked the organism onto the
surface of the Simmons citrate slant and let it incubate overnight at 37В°C. The Citrate Test

Columns of elements are called families or groups. Elements in the family have similar that are not
identical properties. For example, Lithium (LI) Sodium (NA), Potassium (K), and some other
members of group s family are soft with white shiny metals. The elements in the family have the
same amount of numbers of outer electrons.
Each horizontal row of the elements is called a period. The elements in the period are not like in
properties. In fact, the properties change greatly across even given row (periodicity). The first
element in the period is always an extremely solid that is active. The last element in the period is
always an inactive gas. Each new period will represent the next shell fall of electrons which will
fill the period.

Taking a closer read at Haroun and the Sea of Stories
1. Identify explain 5 symbols found in text.
Although Haroun and the sea of stories is a children s literature, symbols which overlap as
archetypes are used to make this novel contain a deeper meaning and be just as enjoyable for adults.
Weather in this story symbolizes the current feeling or emotion of the characters. Dull, gloomy
days often occurred when the character is depressed: this sudden mist positively stank of sadness
and gloom (47). This symbol is clearly evident when Haroun traveled to Moody land, the sun would
shine all night is there were enough joyful people around, and it would go on shining until the

An example is the June 9th, 1985 student demonstration at Tian An Men square in China. The
government attempted to stop the media from exposing this event to the public; they also attempted
to wipe out any written records of this afterwards. This is similar to how certain Chupwalas in
Haroun stitched their mouths, or vowed to remain silent under the orders of Khattam Shud who
tried to stop the relay of information in his kingdom so to speak.
3. Detail 3 instances in the text where the power of story is alluded to. Explain
The power of story is often referred to in this novel. For example, on page 72, the stories were held
here in fluid form, they retained the ability to change, to become new versions of themselves, to
join up with other stories and so become yet other stories...It was not dead but alive. This means
that there are many variations to one idea or one story. Old tales combined with imagination can
be made into new pieces of work. no story comes from nowhere; new stories are born from old it
is the new combinations that make them new. (86) There is an endless possibility and no
limitations on what the story is about because new ones can always be made.
Whether it s the adventure or the escape from reality that stories provide, or that fact that it takes
your mind away from tension, some people, and personally I believe that stories have the ability
to relieve stress. The power of story is implied in Haroun: you can offer [Story

Reflection Paper On Moral Disengagement
Introduction
We live in a society in which unethical actions are always justified as moral because the majority
are involved in the deeds. We always face an ethical dilemma in different situations, and it becomes
difficult to make a rational decision. This reflection paper aims at exploring the issue of moral
disengagement. Reasons for moral disengagement will be discussed.
What?
From the reading, I understand that people think and act differently when faced with ethical issues.
For one to make a rational decision, an extensive process of judgment is required (Bandura,
Caprara, Zsolnai, 2000). For an individual to be responsible, he or she should put into consideration
the magnitude of the consequences of the actions, social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Justification of a wrong action would be a moral disengagement. Unethical actions always cause
severe consequences to society. Currently, there are cases of cheating and secret use of unwanted
written materials during exam times. They portray unpreparedness and laziness on the part of a
student. It is unethical since it does not show faithfulness and integrity in studies. Teaching from
this material helps me to be dependable and not to be morally disengaged because of diffusion of
responsibility. Unethical conduct can be attributed to the behavior of a particular group. The
teaching is important to me because I have learned on how to be responsible for my actions and
to act ethically even at a student level. The practice of morals at a young age will help me to
remain ethical even at old age.
Lastly, there are emerging issues observed in the media which involve people displaying their
nakedness to the public. Such deeds demonstrate lack of self respect, and there is no particular
individual to blame since it was one provoked by only one victim and other people followed.
Reading from the material provided concerns me that I should practice personal values and ethics
and emphasize on self respect and individual principles. It is important to me that I have learned to
respect myself and not to be controlled by habits.
Now What?

The Work of the Magistrates Court and Magistrates
In the legal system there are many different types of courts. This essay talks about the
Magistrates Courts and the Magistrates themselves. The office of magistrate dates back to the
12th century when Richard 1 appointed keepers of the peace . They have performed judicial
functions since the 13th century and the term, justice of the peace was being used as far back as
1361. Magistrates were in charge of the police up until 1839. Paid magistrates have existed since

Magistrates are not professional lawyers, in fact they may have little or no legal knowledge as
they will receive training before and after their appointment. Also a court clerk always sits with the

Symptoms And Treatment Of A Candidiasis
6.Discussion Vulvovaginal candidiasis is one of the most prevalent vaginal infections and
represents, approximately 40% 50% of all cases of infectious vulvovaginitis . Most episodes of
symptomatic disease are acute attacks of VVC. While some women suffer from daily and
chronic symptoms of the disease (CVVC), others suffer from recurrent episodes being entirely
free between the episodes (RVVC). Therefore, the definition of RVVC requires occurrence of at
least 3 symptomatic episodes of VVC in the previous 12 months, although some investigators
require 4 symptomatic episodes . Vaginal colonization by Candida spp. occurs in low numbers and
follows adherence of Candida to vaginal ECs. Colonization can persist for months or years in
healthy women not susceptible to RVVC where Candida lives in symbiotic relationship with
vaginal microbiota. The breakdown of this relationship results in symptomatic infection and
originates from either favored overgrowth of Candida or defect in host defense mechanisms . Both
subjective health status and health related quality of life are markedly reduced during and in
between episodes in women with RVVC even in those receiving long term antifungal therapy as
recommended by guidelines . Besides, the chronic use of ketoconazole can result in significant side
effects such as liver toxicity which is not seen with the more tolerated antifungal agent; fluconazole.

Reflection About The TazпїЅ Prayer
At the TaizГ© prayer, the place with the altar and candles was inviting; first the silence for about
10 minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures
together. The prayer around the Jesus cross statue in the center was about to begin when a person
placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their
burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayeraround the cross continued, but this time the cross
statue was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross statue at the table and placed
their heads on it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the altogether
final prayer followed by a song was the end of the prayer. From this opportunity of praying in a
group, I learned about the gifts and challenges of prayer while reflecting in silence and listening to
the meditative music.
The TaizГ© prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others
together. This was my first time in a TaizГ© prayer, I have never heard about it before this class.
The prayer is centered on a worship group that between silence, songs, prayers, and bible readings,
people stand up to acknowledge the cross statue in the center by kneeling in front or kissing the
statue. You are not alone, you spend the hour with people of different churches or religious beliefs
either in silence, singing, praying and worshipping.

motives, and these motives provide the origin of the witch trial in this play. When Reverend Parris
discovers his daughter, Betty, and niece Abigail, along with the slave, Tituba, and Mercy Lewis
involved in a forbidden activity, dancing in the woods, the girls are... Show more content on

Besides the motives already mentioned on the part of Abigail for making accusations of
witchcraft is revenge. Abigail has been dismissed as a maid by Elizabeth. Abigail is angry and
humiliated by this and seeks to get revenge with her false accusations which are believed by the
community. Others also find opportunities to exact revenge on their neighbors. Among the
victims is Sarah Good who is not totally accepted by the community. Since she is disliked, it is
believable to the community that she has cursed their animals (44). Another victim is Goody
Osburn who is accused by the Putnams. They maintain that as their midwife, she has caused the
death of Mrs. Putnam s babies (44). Goody Osburn is very poor and held in low esteem so there
is no one to support her, making it easy to accuse and arrest her. Another example of revenge is
based on the hatred between Thomas Putnam and Francis Nurse. The Putnams and Nurses have
been fighting over land for some time, and this has caused hard feelings. As Giles says, Putnam
accuses people who have land and would have them killed to get it (89). Additionally, Putnam is
upset with Nurse because Nurse has opposed Putnam s choice for minister. The Putnams see the
opportunity to get revenge by Mrs. Putnam s accusation of Rebecca Nurse of the supernatural
murder of their babies. This results in Rebecca s arrest and a chance for the Putnam s to acquire
land. All of these

said Barbara Pennypacker, Vice President of Guthrie Surgical Services. The four Xenex Germ
Zapping Robots, known as Hans Solo, will disinfect different areas of the hospital. Three will be
located at Robert Packer Hospital and one at Corning Hospital. Two will be located in operating

The name Darjeeling Tea is tantamount to one of the finest tea produced in the world. Known
for its characteristic quality and colour, it refers to tea which has been cultivated, grown,
produced, manufactured and processed in the designated 87 tea gardens in the district of
Darjeeling in West Bengal. It is said that Darjeeling tea developed around 1840 after Dr.
Campbell planted tea seeds in his garden at Beechwood, Darjeeling, 7000 ft above sea level as an
experiment. In order to ensure the reputation of DARJEELING tea, the Tea Board has registered
the DARJEELING Logo and DARJEELING (the word mark) as certification marks and
geographical indications in India and has initiated proceedings in various jurisdiction to protect the

The Tea Board of India has successfully protected the Darjeeling tea from infringement in China
through various opposition proceedings relating to the Darjeeling logo and word mark against
Uni President China Holdings Limited and Hangzhou Qingxin Tea Co., Limited. Uni President
China Holdings Ltd is an investment holding company established in 2007. The Company s
subsidiaries are engaged in the manufacturing and sale of beverages and instant noodles in the
People s Republic of China and it currently has an annual revenue of 28.96 bn HKD. Hangzhou
Qingxin Tea Co., Ltd. was established in 1999 and is engaged in production, processing and
export of tea and tea products and has annual sales of about 4 million US dollars. Certain
opposition proceedings which were initiated against the aforementioned companies related to
registration of the word mark DARJEERLING which was deceptively similar to DARJEELING
mark owned by Tea Board. In addition, a couple of opposition proceedings also related to logo
marks which were also deceptively similar to the Darjeeling Tea logo. However the Tea Board
endeavor to protect the Darjeeling Tea mark has met with failure in two cases in China. In the
first case, the Tea Board application for Certification mark applications for DARJEELING word
and logo in China were rejected on account of prior registered mark. The Chinese characters in the
prior mark translate to DA JI LING

Power Of Sexual Jealousy In Oliver Parker s Othello
Othello is a film based on the famous Shakespeare tragedy: Othello. The film was produced in
the United Stated and released on December 15, 1995 in the United Kingdom and United States.
The film s main plot is evolved around the power of sexual jealousy and how it can make people
to act on their emotions instead of their rational mind. The film was directed by Oliver Parker, and
he made many changes from the original play to make the 21st century audiences easier to
understand the power of sexual jealousy. Parker hired famous actors to cast the four major
characters in the film such as Laurence Fishburne (Othello), Irene Jacob (Desdemona), Kenneth
Branaugh (Iago), and Nathaniel Parker (Cassio).I believe Oliver Parker s choice of adding additional

Iago was practicing some military drills with Othello, which foreshadows that in the future they will
fight.
In my opinion, Kenneth Branaugh (Iago) was the best actor in that movie. He was able to show his
cunningness through his tone of voice and sneaky posture. His representation of Iago demonstrated
the evilness within the character of Iago. I believe Kenneth Branaugh portrayed Iago better than any
other actors that I have ever seen.
I am very glad that the movie modified the scene, when Iago tried to persuade Othello to kill
Cassio and Desdemona. In the original play, Othello turned from a calm mood to a very hatred
mood to Desdemona and Cassio in five minutes, which is not realistic. However, the movie changed
the time frame that it takes two days for Othello to change the mood instead of just five minutes.
At the end of the movie where Othello stabs Iago after he realizes that Iago was lying the whole
time. Othello was unarmed at this point until Cassio gives Othello a dagger to stab Iago. It is clear
that the director wants to let audiences know that Cassio forgives

Ethos In Advertising Campaigns
Rationale
The use of ethos, pathos, and logos is evident throughout our advertising campaign for Savidge Tea
Kettles. We used these strategies to appeal to our target market young, middle class couples with
families. The commercial follows a young couple as they use the kettle in many different ways as
their daughter grows up, which our target market will identify with. In the commercial, we made an
appeal to ethos by showing a note that says, From Grandma, when the tea kettle is left on the
doorstep. Based on what we perceived as a common view of elderly people being knowledgeable,
especially in the eyes of their grandchildren, we implied that the kettle must be of high quality in
order for a grandmother to feel that it is a good gift for her newlywed grandchild. Ethos is located
on the poster through the phrase, #1 brand of tea kettles , showing the buyer that other consumers
highly recommend this brand, solidifying the credibility of the kettle, and causing the buyer to
follow their peers and purchase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It begins with the newly weds being brought a tea kettle as a gift. The video proceeds to display
short clips of moments throughout the family s life as their daughter grows up: the daughter s
sickness, heartbreak, acceptance to college, marriage, and then buying a house. Throughout these
emotional scenes, the tea kettle is strategically placed or used in the shot. One of the last scenes is
the mother handing the tea kettle over to the daughter, signifying that life has come full circle. This
sequence of events would hopefully cause an audience to become emotionally attached to the
family. Pathos is also shown in the poster. The poster displays a family around a tea kettle, creating
memories. The viewer will then associate the tea kettle with making memories with their family.
This appeal to pathos persuades potential buyers by creating an emotional response, which would
prompt them to purchase a Savidge Tea

The Negative Effects Of Plastic Surgery
Can surgery fix down syndrome people or just stays the same ?
A lot of people have claimed that the plastic surgery for people with down syndrome can
improve their quality of life. Many who favor the form of surgery refer to its expected positive
effects in general and also vague terms. They were no difference were uncovered between the
parents and the doctors regarding support for the plastic surgery. Most parents do want what is best
for the kid by having them look the same as the other kids, but most parents just do not want to
listen to other people make fun of there kid with down syndrome. People should not care what their
baby looks like. They were born that way and they are beautiful in their own way and they
should stay the same. Surgery can also lead to sensitive issues associated with the motives of
those responsible for having the operation performed. plastic surgery for down syndrome is
really serious and expensive procedure. They should not do the surgery , it could lead to risk
and out the child in pain. What most people do not know is that the child is growing and while
he or she is growing, they are other body parts that are growing with him or her and they may
have to go back and do more surgery. Surgery does not change the way the child mind thinks nor
the way he or she acts.
Parents should understand that kids are beautiful in there own way and it shouldn t matter what
their kid looks like as long as there kid is happy that is all that should matter.
The present study dealt with the attitudes of parents of children with down syndrome and of family
doctors towards reconstructive facial surgery for these children. for both groups, questionnaires
were used to measure the attitudes toward the surgery, and the basis for the decision to have the
surgery performed. Parents who showed greater acceptance of their child showed less support for
the operation. copyright of journal of intellectual developmental disability is the property of Taylor
Francis
Kids with down syndrome have there own special look to them, but what most people don t know
is that people with down syndrome hug, kiss, and love more than any other kid or person. They
should not care if other people make fun of them .

Their Eyes Were Watching God Theme Essay
Zora Neale Hurston conveys the theme that gender can confine one s true potential and freedom
in her novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Janie, as a young woman, is controlled by her
male counterparts and is unable to act freely for herself. Her grandmother raised her to strive for
stability and security in her relationships, rather than an emotional connection. Janie is
discouraged from speaking in front of the community and participating in discussions on the
porch by her second husband, the mayor of Eatonville. However, she meets Tea Cake who
enables her to freely express herself. Through her various experiences, she is able to find her true
self by breaking down typical gender stereotypes of the time. Hurston tells the story both through
Janie s voice and a third person omniscient narrator. Hurston s use of multiple points of view allows
Janie s thoughts and ideas to be vividly expressed through the narrator... Show more content on

Janie proclaims, Love is lak de sea. It s uh movin thing, but still and all, it takes its shape from de

Cake, Janie is capable of defining what love truly is, which is a complex idea. Although she is
saddened to shoot him when he is rabid, Janie frees herself from the limitations of being a woman
in society. She is able to focus on herself and find out who she truly is on the inside. Janie further
states, Two things everybody s got tuh do fuh theyselves. They got tuh go tuh God, and they got tuf

  • 2. The Design Of The Antipsychiatry Coalition The second website chosen for review under chapter four is titled The Antipsychiatry Coalition . The latter is actually a movement whose members created this website to help them deal with the stigma and stereotyping that is faced by people who have received psychiatric treatment (Antipsychiatry, 2015). The Antipsychiatry Coalition website mainly assists people who feel that harm and pain has been inflicted on them as a result of them suffering from a psychiatric condition. In most cases, people usually associate mental illnesses such as psychosis with complete lack of knowledge of one s autonomous being (HochwГ¤lder, 2013). Consequently, mentally ill patients as well as those placed in psychiatric facilities are often branded as zombies (HochwГ¤lder, 2013). Therefore, the recovery process of such people is often difficult because they face humiliation verbally or physically from others. As such, this website is very useful to people who are trying to liberate themselves from the stigma that comes with being a psychiatric patient. The design of the Antipsychiatry Coalition website is such that it makes use of links to provide information on various issues that revolve around mental illness and psychiatry (Antipsychiatry, 2015). For instance, the link on myth of psychiatric diagnosis enables the reader to read and learn about the things that people believe about psychiatry yet they are false. There are also additional links such as psychiatric drugs, suicide, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Lymphatic Cancer The lymphatic system helps to protect us from infection and disease. It s part of the body s immune system. Lymph fluid passes through lymph nodes which are connected by a network of lymph vessels. The nodes are found throughout the whole body. My understanding of the lymphatic system is that it is a one way drainage process that transports fluid from your body s tissues into the bloodcirculation, it fights infections and gets rid of waste products produced by your cells. Lymph fluid normally flows through the network of lymph vessels that connect to a group of lymph nodes. The nodes, which are about the size of a baked bean and are located in specific parts of your body act as a filter, destroying or trapping anything harmful that the body... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But where the tissue could be degenerated through extensive exposure to toxins it can cause the cells to divide and reproduce so that it creates a mass of the cells, ultimately a tumour. This tumour then takes over the tissue. Extensive exposure to toxins can lead to this build up of cancerous cells and weakened defence from the tissue. Our lymphatic system here is paramount as it helps to shift toxins from the body so that they are flushed out of the body. If the lymphatic system though is damaged or struggling in any way it cannot perform this function. If an area of the body is constricted over a long period of time or there is a tightening or pressure applied to it regularly such as ill fitting clothes or tight bras then this can constrict the lymphatic flow cause blockages and build up of toxins that would normally flow out of the body easily. This restriction and blockage means that less oxygen and fewer nutrients are delivered to where they are needed. Ultimately, long term starvation of the tissues and accumulation of toxins can lead to degeneration, which is linked to cancer, and often linked to breast cancer for ... • 4. Inflation And Unemployment Rate In The United States Over the last few years GDP, inflation, and unemployment rates have fluctuated. Currently, they seem fairly stable. GDP is at a 2.1% growth rate. The trend hasn t changed much over time. It seems that the only thing that has really shrunk throughout time with GDP is the amount of exports the US sends out, whereas personal consumption, government spending, and investment added percentage points to the growth rate. With the growing GDP, unemployment rate appears to be decreasing. While it is at 4.5%, this is significantly lower than it has been in the past. The growth of GDP has allowed for new investments in technology and being able to find new ways to produce goods and services, thus causing problems with unemployment. Despite the fact... Starting in 2003, the GDP growth rate was at a meager 2%, but that quickly jumped to 7% by 2003. Unemployment went from nearly 6% in 2002 down to roughly 4.5% by 2007. The rate of inflation, between 2004 and 2006, varied around the 3% mark, hitting a max of 4.7% and a minimum of roughly 1.7%. The data from the graphs shows that the rates of GDP and inflation began to drop more significantly as 2007/2008 was approached, and the unemployment rate began to skyrocket. The recession wasn t a good time for the economy of the United States. There wasn t much income, prices dropped, even though this didn t benefit consumers much because they couldn t afford it anyway, and many people lost their jobs. Simply looking at the growth rate of GDP shows that something was not right. By January of 2009, the rate had dropped to 8%. Unemployment jumped from a rate of 5% to 9% in less than a year. So many people lost their jobs because there wasn t enough money in the economy to keep them around. Even today there are still a lot of people that are unemployed because they cannot find work. The inflation rate during the recession increased to 4% in January of 2008. By July, it hit at nearly 6%. But, by July of 2009, it rapidly decreased to 0%. • 5. Stress In Fortune Cookie Can failure and disappointment, create anxiety and addiction for people? This rash assumption could be true or false, depending on their state of being and attitude towards life. It can produce pessimistic thoughts such as should I give up? or why am I even doing this? But can also produce optimistic thoughts that will lead them down a path, full of confidence and positivity. Ultimately, with all things considered the real question is, will a person, let failure and disappointment uplift their ability to become a better them, or let frustration and lack of success lead them to a crash of their long lasting life, potentially leading them into an unfortunate trap of superstition or drugs, like Harry in the short story Fortune Cookie... After this hit, his heroin and drinking addiction began to catch up to him. He used the sixty thousand dollars he made of the book for drugs and drinks, also hanging out with crooks and junkies to get high, in which he believed provided and offered him support and comfort, but these things soon led him into a massive and unstoppable misery. • 6. The Teaching Styles of the Apology of Plato an the Gospel... Socrates and Luke are both considered to be great educators. They have both influenced countless people with their teachings. However, comparing the two is slightly strange since Socrates is the subject of the story, which is told by Plato, and Luke is the teller of the story of Jesus. A comparison can be made between the two as Socratesis a great teacher while Platois mostly silent and Luke, while not overly prevalent in the his story can be compared to other accounts of the story of Jesus among which his by far the most didactic. But when you are comparing the two you must keep in mindthat you are in actuality comparing four and also that while the story teller is supposed to only be telling you what he saw, he is also telling his... Are you so much wiser at your age than I am at mine that you understand that wicked people always do some harm to their closest neighbours while good people do them good, but I have reached such a pitch of ignorance that I do not realize thisВ… I do not believe you, Meletus, and I do not believe that any one else will. (Plato 25d e) Both Jesus and Socrates here have both made fairly convincing arguments for some fairly unconvincing points. Jesus tells the apostles that basically they are slaves and they should like it, while Socrates tries to convince the jury that he has done no harm to the structure of Greek society with his radical philosophies. They manage to argue these unlikely lines of reasoning somewhat successfully by leading the listener through a series of progressing questions with very obvious answers until a fairly unlikely, but seemingly rational conclusion is drawn. • 7. Automated Behavior Analysis Paper The Boston Marathon bombing is instructive in regard to automated behavior analysis. Had a system existed with the capacity to detect when the Tsarnaev brothers placed their devices and walked away, flag it as an unusual event and alert observers to this occurrence, law enforcement personnel could have been notified and the area cleared. Additionally, after being alerted to this suspicious behavior, authorities could have actively tracked their movements and directed law enforcement to their location, resulting in a manhunt measured in hours rather than days. Although automated behavior analysis may not have outright prevented the bombing, the benefit of increased public safety, via casualty reduction and quicker suspect apprehension, is difficult to refute. • 8. Women s Role For A Management Job Mothers are held to a higher standard than fathers may when it comes to proving competence. Therefore, a Mother who is also a manager and takes time off such as leave, leads to perceptions that she is not well suited for a management job, According to Gill and Davidson (2001), long hours, frequent travel and attendance at work related functions are essential for mothers who seek advancement in managerial or professional jobs. These authors concluded that work and family identities were incompatible in the minds of many professionals and employers. It is however interesting to note that women and men are entitled to take time off work following childbirth known as parental leavebut A study by (Suk, 2010) shows that women take 98 % of all unpaid parental or maternityleave, even though this leave is available to both men and women which reinforces the stereotype of women being the main caretaker of children, Additionally the provisions of these schemes aim to ensure that the mother, can maintain her position in the labour market despite taking time off to care for her child , however this is not necessarily the case as women are prone to discrimination and stigmatization following childbirth. • 9. The Song Ten Minutes Ago, Is From Rodgers And Hammerstein... The song Ten Minutes Ago is from Rodgers and Hammerstein s Cinderella. A musical adaption of the classic fairytale by the same name, it became a musical sensation when Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein transformed it into a live musical television broadcast in 1957. Starring Julie Andrews, it retold the fairytale of a young girl living a miserable life under the roof of her evil stepmother and her three equally vicious stepsisters. With the Prince s Ball nearing, the four women in her family were planning to go, leaving Cinderella at home on the night of the ball. When all hope seemed lost, Cinderella s Fairy Godmother appears, granting her wishes by transforming her from rags to riches, and giving her a pair of glass slippers. Cinderella was able to go to the ball unrecognized, under the condition to be home by midnight, when the spell wore off. At the ball, she meets the prince and there is immediately chemistry, but she rushes to leave before the clock strikes twelve, in fear of the prince seeing her for who she really was and being disgusted by her true self. As she escapes the castle, she loses one of her glass shoes on the steps of the castle. Leaving it behind, she makes it home without being seen by anyone, and resumes her life as a poor girl being abused by her family. The next day, the prince announces a search for Cinderella, not knowing her name or remembering her face. He went around town and asked women to try on the glass shoe, believing that he would ... Essay on History of Childhood Childhood is usually understood as a set of experiences and behaviours, gained in the early stages of the human existence, considered as the preparation for the adult world. However, the history of childhood is a very complex topic and it has become a very influential area of study in recent years. In 1962, the Centuries of Childhood by Philippe AriГ©s introduced the idea that childhood was a new creation developed in recent centuries and as a concept it was believed to be nonexistent before the seventeenth century. This concept means that there was no awareness of the process of childhood. • 11. Social Media And Social Networking Essay If asked, would you be able to explain what the definition of social media is? Social media is the noun used to define websites that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Now you may wonder, what is the difference in social media and social networking? Social networking is the practice of expanding the number of one s business and/or social contacts by making connections through individuals, often through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. (cite) | Statistics show that most children get introduced to cyberbullying when they fully understand how to use the internet. The majority of children have admitted to harassing or being bullied on a social media website from the age nine to eighteen. The gender of the child also makes a difference according to some poles taken. Girls are more likely to spread rumors through the virtual world, whereas; boys are more expected to comment and post antagonizing pictures and videos. Mathematical Model V.MATHEMATICAL MODEL Although there are differences between the architectures discussed so far, they however have 3 similar duties they perform [16] namely; 1) Infrastructure maintenance of the peer peer system: This task involves handling the periodic arrival and departure of peers to and from the network. Prompt update of the indices of newly arriving peers and ensuring of connectivity among peers is also important. 2) Query handling: This involves the use of efficient mechanisms for propagating queries and returning responses. The target is effective search into the network with minimum resource usage. 3) File transfer: This has to do with the reliability of the file transfer between peers. In all the 3 architectures, once the requested file has been located, a direct connection is set up between the two peers involved and the file download follows. These similarities and differences are what have been captured by the mathematical model presented in [16]. To capture the various characteristics, the peer peer system was modelled as a multiple class closed queueing network [16]. Each class comprises of a fixed number of peers, represented by N= (N (1) .........N(c)), where C represents the number of classes. Also, slavery was put to an end, it wasn t officially outlawed by the 13th Amendment, but slaves were set free at the ends of the war. Symptoms And Treatment Of A Candidiasis 6.Discussion Vulvovaginal candidiasis is one of the most prevalent vaginal infections and represents, approximately 40% 50% of all cases of infectious vulvovaginitis . Most episodes of symptomatic disease are acute attacks of VVC. While some women suffer from daily and chronic symptoms of the disease (CVVC), others suffer from recurrent episodes being entirely free between the episodes (RVVC). Therefore, the definition of RVVC requires occurrence of at least 3 symptomatic episodes of VVC in the previous 12 months, although some investigators require 4 symptomatic episodes . Vaginal colonization by Candida spp. occurs in low numbers and follows adherence of Candida to vaginal ECs. Colonization can persist for months or years in healthy women not susceptible to RVVC where Candida lives in symbiotic relationship with vaginal microbiota. The breakdown of this relationship results in symptomatic infection and originates from either favored overgrowth of Candida or defect in host defense mechanisms . Both subjective health status and health related quality of life are markedly reduced during and in between episodes in women with RVVC even in those receiving long term antifungal therapy as recommended by guidelines . Besides, the chronic use of ketoconazole can result in significant side effects such as liver toxicity which is not seen with the more tolerated antifungal agent; fluconazole. However, long term therapy with fluconazole although reduce the rate of RVVC was not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Reflection About The TazпїЅ Prayer At the TaizГ© prayer, the place with the altar and candles was inviting; first the silence for about 10 minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures together. The prayer around the Jesus cross statue in the center was about to begin when a person placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayeraround the cross continued, but this time the cross statue was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross statue at the table and placed their heads on it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the altogether final prayer followed by a song was the end of the prayer. From this opportunity of praying in a group, I learned about the gifts and challenges of prayer while reflecting in silence and listening to the meditative music. The TaizГ© prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others together. This was my first time in a TaizГ© prayer, I have never heard about it before this class. The prayer is centered on a worship group that between silence, songs, prayers, and bible readings, people stand up to acknowledge the cross statue in the center by kneeling in front or kissing the statue. You are not alone, you spend the hour with people of different churches or religious beliefs either in silence, singing, praying and worshipping. During the prayer, I learned that the peace ... • 42. Examples Of Motives In The Crucible In the play, The Crucible [New York: Penguin Group. 2003] by Arthur Miller, the mass hysteria of the witch trials begins with a game in the woods and quickly grows to unbelievable proportion in an atmosphere of ignorance and superstition. In this small, closed community, the hysteria is fed by hidden personal motives including self preservation, fear, jealousy, envy, and revenge which when unchecked and unquestioned, bring tragic consequences. Fear and self preservation are strong motives, and these motives provide the origin of the witch trial in this play. When Reverend Parris discovers his daughter, Betty, and niece Abigail, along with the slave, Tituba, and Mercy Lewis involved in a forbidden activity, dancing in the woods, the girls are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Besides the motives already mentioned on the part of Abigail for making accusations of witchcraft is revenge. Abigail has been dismissed as a maid by Elizabeth. Abigail is angry and humiliated by this and seeks to get revenge with her false accusations which are believed by the community. Others also find opportunities to exact revenge on their neighbors. Among the victims is Sarah Good who is not totally accepted by the community. Since she is disliked, it is believable to the community that she has cursed their animals (44). Another victim is Goody Osburn who is accused by the Putnams. They maintain that as their midwife, she has caused the death of Mrs. Putnam s babies (44). Goody Osburn is very poor and held in low esteem so there is no one to support her, making it easy to accuse and arrest her. Another example of revenge is based on the hatred between Thomas Putnam and Francis Nurse. The Putnams and Nurses have been fighting over land for some time, and this has caused hard feelings. As Giles says, Putnam accuses people who have land and would have them killed to get it (89). Additionally, Putnam is upset with Nurse because Nurse has opposed Putnam s choice for minister. The Putnams see the opportunity to get revenge by Mrs. Putnam s accusation of Rebecca Nurse of the supernatural murder of their babies. This results in Rebecca s arrest and a chance for the Putnam s to acquire land. All of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Power Of Sexual Jealousy In Oliver Parker s Othello Othello is a film based on the famous Shakespeare tragedy: Othello. The film was produced in the United Stated and released on December 15, 1995 in the United Kingdom and United States. The film s main plot is evolved around the power of sexual jealousy and how it can make people to act on their emotions instead of their rational mind. The film was directed by Oliver Parker, and he made many changes from the original play to make the 21st century audiences easier to understand the power of sexual jealousy. Parker hired famous actors to cast the four major characters in the film such as Laurence Fishburne (Othello), Irene Jacob (Desdemona), Kenneth Branaugh (Iago), and Nathaniel Parker (Cassio).I believe Oliver Parker s choice of adding additional ... In my opinion, Kenneth Branaugh (Iago) was the best actor in that movie. He was able to show his cunningness through his tone of voice and sneaky posture. His representation of Iago demonstrated the evilness within the character of Iago. I believe Kenneth Branaugh portrayed Iago better than any other actors that I have ever seen. I am very glad that the movie modified the scene, when Iago tried to persuade Othello to kill Cassio and Desdemona. In the original play, Othello turned from a calm mood to a very hatred mood to Desdemona and Cassio in five minutes, which is not realistic. However, the movie changed the time frame that it takes two days for Othello to change the mood instead of just five minutes. • 46. Ethos In Advertising Campaigns Rationale The use of ethos, pathos, and logos is evident throughout our advertising campaign for Savidge Tea Kettles. We used these strategies to appeal to our target market young, middle class couples with families. The commercial follows a young couple as they use the kettle in many different ways as their daughter grows up, which our target market will identify with. In the commercial, we made an appeal to ethos by showing a note that says, From Grandma, when the tea kettle is left on the doorstep. Based on what we perceived as a common view of elderly people being knowledgeable, especially in the eyes of their grandchildren, we implied that the kettle must be of high quality in order for a grandmother to feel that it is a good gift for her newlywed grandchild. Ethos is located on the poster through the phrase, #1 brand of tea kettles , showing the buyer that other consumers highly recommend this brand, solidifying the credibility of the kettle, and causing the buyer to follow their peers and purchase ...
