Gun Control in the United States
Gun Control in the United States has gone out of control. The United States should enforce laws to
not allow any guns in a house hold in order to reduce violence and crime in the country. Reducing
the rate of crime in the United States, controlling big weapons, taxing ammunition, and gun
collection can help make this happen. Gun Control can make this country a safer environment to
live in. Gun Control has obviously gone out of control in the recent years. Look around, they are
everywhere. Reducing the rate of Crime in the United States would make the country a better place
to live. In the past and in the present, Mass Shootings have impacted America. Virginia Tech

We may not see this group but the mafia was big back in the day. The mafia was the leading
group in criminal activity in the 1960 s(Darity). The mafia was a group that would make tons
and tons of money off of drugs, robberies and murders. They would sometimes pay off cops to
look the other way and if they didn t get what they wanted they would use their firearms. With
stronger and more enforced laws, many lives could have been saved. The mafia isn t the only
group with guns being used. Gangs are also using guns on an everyday basis. The gangs on the
streets are just like the mafia. They sell drugs, rob people/stores and murder. Not all gangs are on
the streets, some are underground. The point is without guns on the streets, neighborhoods and
cities will be a safer place to live. A big controversy in congress is passing a law to Tax
ammunition/bullets to a gun. This will not just help the country from crime, it will help the
economy. Today almost 65% of people own a gun and 50% have live ammunition to that gun
(Domenech). Taxing every bullet to every gun in the entire country will generate millions of
dollars. Another idea is to have gun collection days and ammunition collection days. Obviously the
more guns you bring in, the more money the government will give to you. If none of these ideas
work, congress can at least limit the ammunition to a gun in a house. The thought of having a gun

Mill Utilitarianism
Euthanasia ever a moral choice? Euthanasia is the termination of an extremely ill person s life in
order to relieve them from the suffering the illness is causing. The action of Euthanasia is only
acceptable if the condition is incurable. (LawTeacher) Euthanasia can either be classified as
passive or active. In certain states, euthanasia is illegal if non voluntary or involuntary if passive
or active. However, If the euthanasia is voluntary it is only passively illegal in all but 5 states, and
actively legal. John Stuart Millbelieved that the key of happiness included the principles. He

Why The French Revolutionaries View The Months Of The...
In 1793, the National Convention in Paris created a new calendar for the French republic. The
new calendar renamed the months of the Gregorian calendar and rearranged them so that each
month contained three weeks of ten days each; at the end of each year there were five days of
festivals dedicated to virtue, intelligence, labor, opinion, and rewards. This calendar was kept in
place until 1806 when it was abolished by Napoleon. The National Convention and other republican
groups cited many reasons for the adoption of a new calendar, including ridding the republic of the
old regime and implementing a more reasonable system. Although the revolutionaries viewed the
calendar as an improvement, others were quick to point out its flaws. Among the

Acid Base Disturbance Report
Acid Base Disturbances is any condition which results in changes of the extracellular fluid pH from
the normal range of pH 7.35 7.45. ... Because the blood pH and the ECF pH are almost always
equivalent, disturbances of acid base homeostasis are diagnosed by measuring blood pH. When the
pH is below 7.35, the condition is called acidosis; when the pH is above 7.45, it is called alkalosis

respiratory so the imbalance or condition maybe respiratory acidosis, or respiratory alkalosis,

How Did Upton Sinclair Contribute To The Gilded Age
Though best known for his muckraking efforts that helped to end the Gilded Age, Upton
Sinclair wrote nearly a hundred books in his lifetime. From a young age his mother encouraged
in him a love of reading; when he could, Sinclair would read for up to fourteen hours a day.
However, his childhood was also marked by poverty and by his father s raging alcoholism. His
mother took a strong sense of morality against his father s drinking and of all types of sinning.
These strict morals implanted in him made the socialist party very appealing. Sinclair was willing
to make small sacrifices for the greater good, especially since he had seen how damaging poverty
can be. This poverty, alcoholism, and eventually socialismled to Sinclair s strong sense... Show

Even going as far to run for mayor and a senatorial seat, Sinclair believed deeply in the socialist
cause. This theme shines in all of his works; in his most famous novel, The Jungle, Sinclair explores
the evils of capitalism. He even goes as far as to compare Jurgis journey through the corrupt
urban jungle to that of Dante through his Inferno, to hear this man describe the animals which
came to his place would have been worthwhile for a Dante or a Zola (Sinclair 80). Suitably, The
Jungle and The Divine Comedy were meant to be taken on both literal and allegorical levels; a
point that many original readers did not understand. Both Dante and Jurgis find salvation at the
end of their journeys, Dante in heaven, and Yurgis in socialism. Throughout The Jungle, Jurgis is
searching for something to cling to in belief. First Jurgis puts his faith in his work ethic and
youth to allow him to rise out of poverty. Then, when that fails in an accident, he puts his faith in
his family; which becomes shattered when Ona reveals that she was selling her body for money.
His son s death pushed him over the edge, and then he put his faith back in himself, this time as the
wizened abuser of those who know less. The judicial system, economic system, and his own morals
fail Jurgis. In his despair, the light of socialism shone through and

Helen Keller Metaphor
Helen Keller, who was born on June 27th, 1880 and died June 1st, 1968, was one of the most
important people of her time. She accomplished so much in fields such as literature and politics.
The fact that she was able to do so much with her life is impressive not only in the fact that she
was a woman, but more impressive due to the fact that she became blind and deaf at only
eighteen months old. Through the help of Anne Sullivan though, Keller, was able to learn so
much. This short story, The Day Language Came into My Life, is an excerpt from her
autobiography, where she recalls her memories from when she first learned about language. In
her story, Keller, uses a unique metaphor to describe what it was like going from no language to
having a language. She does this by comparing herself to a boat in a dense fog with no compass or
sounding line, who was just lost at sea in a tangible darkness, and then the light came into her
world. This light that meant so much to Keller was the love of her teacher, Anne Sullivan.... Show

One of the most prominent examples is when she smashes the doll on the ground because she
had not loved the doll because in that world she had not known love. Later in the story though
after she has learned of love she goes back to the doll she has destroyed and for the first time
feels sorrow. The doll represents Keller and how before the light comes she is angry and broken
but then after the light she feels more complete, even though the doll doesn t get fixed completely.
One other example is the time when she feels water and learns what it is called, and suddenly feels
awakened, hopeful, and even free. All in all, Helen Keller s use of metaphor is very effective in
describing her experience. Through her metaphor she conveys how language and love come into
her life and push out all of the fog and completely change her world for the better, giving her hope,
happiness, and the feeling of

Nebulas Research Papers
Have you ever looked up at the sky on a clear night and wondered, what else is out there? . What
could possibly lie beyond the beautiful blanket of stars that we see with our naked eye? Nebulas
are one of many galactic phenomena that lie beyond the Kuiper belt. Mysterious and fascinatingly
beautiful sights to behold, they have more of a purpose than just painting the galaxybackdrop with
color. I m not a diehard fan of astronomy and to be perfectly honest I find it difficult to follow
most of the information I have learned. However, when I came across pictures and information on
nebulas I was instantly fascinated. From how and why they re formed, to what they do for the
galaxy, I m excited to take you on an intellectual journey though nebulas.

This however, is far from the truth. Previously it was believed that the dark areas in the sky were
just blank spaces between the stars, however it is now known that these blank spaces aren t so
blank after all (Koupelis p.367). Astronomers have discovered that they are in fact large clouds of
dust, or interstellar dust to be precise, that instead block out the light from the stars behind it
(Koupelis p.367). The term nebula has its origin in the adjective nebulous, which means lacking
definite form or limits (Koupelis p.370). Much like the clouds that we see here on Earth, nebulas
also come in all shapes and sizes. Per scientists, nebulas are defined as being an interstellar cloud
of dust, hydrogen, helium, and other ionized gases (Wikipedia). These large areas of dust and other
particles thrive in an area known as the interstellar medium and are formed when the interstellar
medium goes through a gravitational collapse (Universe). It s during this

Nt1310 Unit 1 The Environment Analysis
1) Factor 4:
The main aim of factor 4 is to decrease the level of materials utilization and usage of human
resources to one fourth level. The Factor 4 follows a set of guidelines for comparing design options
and for evaluating the performance of buildings and their component systems. Factor 4 suggests
that for humanity to live sustainably today, we must rapidly reduce resource consumption to one
quarter of its current levels. Fortunately, the technology to accomplish Factor 4 reductions in
resource consumption already exists and requires only public policy prioritization and
implementation.
2) Factor 10:
Energy use by buildings would be reduced by a Factor 10 or more below that of conventional
buildings. The purpose of factor 10 is a long term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Natural Step provides a framework for considering the effects of materials selection on human
health. RobГЁrt suggested that many human health problems, particularly those of children, result
from materials we use in our daily lives. The extraction of resources such as fossil fuels and metal
ores from the planet s crust produces carcinogens and results in heavy metals entering the earth s

8) Eco efficiency:
The concept of eco efficiency includes environmental impacts and costs as a factor in calculating
business efficiency. The WBCSD considers the term eco efficiency to describe the delivery of
competitively priced goods and services that satisfy human needs and enhance the quality of life
while progressively reducing ecological impacts and resource intensity throughout the products life

Part 1
Statement of the research problem and hypothesis: According to the second article provided, the
research problem indicated is to verify whether or not virtual reality rehabilitation for stroke patients
causes enjoyment despite the level of difficulty, and if the effects of the rehabilitation will provide
functional benefits for the upper extremity (Chung, et al., 2016). The hypothesis provided in the
article is in regards to the implementation of the given strategies. These strategies will deem
necessary the level of progression through the program to ultimately have the patients carry out the
activities while experiencing a higher level of enjoyment (Chung, et al., 2016).
Identification of the study design: The authors of the article used a mixed method design using
qualitative and quantitative analyses (Chung, et al., 2016). This allows for the collection of data
through various means over time. Due to this, the study design would be considered longitudinal.
The study design is also considered to be a Cohort study because all the patients have a disease in
common in which there is research being done over time on them.

The Environment: This part argues that who is responsible for the environmental damages, how
much concern the designer has for our environment.
Aging Generation: says that older generations are a strong market for quality design, because they
have time to enjoy all its benefits and they can afford it.
And finally Ethical issues, which is the most important from my point of view. This is the part were
my project could connect to Martin s lecture. It gives data about child labour in different countries
in different industries. It argues that our society should educate consumers better to know more
about the true cost of products they buy.
The lecture says that the commercial success depends on these four factors I explained before.
My Project
In my original project proposal I was intended to research trends in manufacturing such as going
local from global and going vertical from horizontal integration. However I realized since that such
trends are mostly triggered by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies responding to
customer demands.
I would like to narrow down my project to focus on the affects of CSR on the apparel industry s
supply chain. Therefor my research project aims to examine how CSR as a global trend affects
vertically and horizontally integrated manufacturing in the fashion/apparel industry.

Mexico and most of South America had been settled by Spain upon encountering the New World
in 1492. So South American Spanish colonies spoke Spanish, had a ruling class that was not native

The Change Of Northern Illinois University s Bus System
Huskie Bus System

Abstract
The change of Northern Illinois University s bus system is demanded throughout campus through
various sources. The issue comes in hand of the student s safety through afternoon times. Our
current bus system puts not only the student s safety on line but its staff as well. The fact of the
line is, having one bus running throughout an 800 acres campus does not make it safe for students
and staff to get from one place of campus to another. It s a way to save money rather than helping
students get around campus in a safe and efficient way. Although there will be more money needed
to add the number of buses running after 7pm, the investment is crucial for students safety ... Show

Humans are bound to reject change because that s nature for us, our bodies do not like change. But
in order to improve we must accept change for what it is to an extent to fix an issue on campus.
Northern Illinois University s bus system is currently in demand of change with the issues of bus
routes and number of busses running by increasing funding and changing the system.
The Northern Illinois Bus system currently runs multiple busses with 12 different bus routes that
students from NIU have free access to. These routes lead to multiple routes around campus that
transport students, which are either commuters or campus residents, around campus. There are
several things to use to track the bus like the NIU app on android and apple devices which is

The Accusing Angel In John Steinbeck s The Book Of Job
The Book of Job tells the story of a man who is a servant of God, perfect in integrity, who fears God
and avoids evil. (Pg.6). The story centers on the profound suffering Job faces when an Accusing
Angel decides to challenge Job s faith in God (pg. 6). As Job is tested the following questions have
risen from its readers. Is Job patient? Is he impatient? Some people read The Book of Joband think
it tells the story of an incredibly patient man, who withstands immense trials and yet never
experiences aggravation with the test Godallows to fall upon him. Others see Job as impatient;
because he expresses frustration with the trials he is given and cries out to God to end his life

Job is tested for his faith, trust, and love for God (pg. 6). The Accusing Angel is focused on
proving God wrong, on making Job lose faith (pg.6). Job is called a great follower of God, by
God Himself and the Accusing Angel clearly does not like that God has shown so much favor
on Job (pg. 6). The test that Job is given by the Accusing Angel, and allowed to be given by God,
challenges Job s relationship with God to see if it is a legitimate relationship or not. As humans
we know that every relationship is tested at some point or another, whether it be a friendship, a
relationship with a family member, or a relationship with a significant other. When relationships
are challenged they fall apart or make it through the struggle, this is how we know if a
relationship with our loved one is strong and durable or if it is shallow and weak. God and Job
have a relationship; God says that they do on page 6 when He references Job as one of his

Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin Essay
Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin
A captivating tale of a relationship between two troubling brothers in Harlem, Sonny s Blues is
told from the perception of Sonny s brother, whose name is never mentioned. Baldwin s choice of
Sonny s brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s Blues significant in terms of illustrating the
relationship and emotional complications of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s
Blues lies in the way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears,
and feels, and how he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story. This is a
story of how two African Americans brothers take their own path through life as they struggle to
find meaning in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author used the title of the story Sonny s Blues, to give the readers the hint about the theme
of the story. The noun blues is defined as a mood of unhappiness and depression. This theme is
present throughout the story. Blues is a style of music that expresses a sad mood. It is
synonymous with low spirits and depressed emotions. The blues, both as a state of being and as
music, is basic to the structure of the story, and both the narrator and his brother Sonny have had
their share of low spirits.
The opposing lives of the two brothers contribute to the theme of being safe and while being risk
takers. In this story, Baldwin writes about two brothers who grew up together. As each of the
boys grew older, they fell apart from one another and lived two completely different lives. The
narrator, who is the older brother, seemed to be more conservative and more determined to
develop a good future. Sonny, the younger brother, was more free willed and adventurous as he
lived in the moment. Sonny did not even know what his plans were for the next hour, much less
for the rest of his life. The narrator s major source of discontent has been his selfish desire to learn
and lead a respectable, safe life as a high school algebra teacher. When he learns of

Group Of Emotion In Monet
According to Claude Monet, a famous impressionist artist, It s on the strength of observation and
reflection that one finds a way. So we must dig and delve unceasingly. (as cited by Kendall,
2004). As artwork is chiefly depicted in many different ways, such as in natural, spiritual,
objective, or subjective description, Monet believes that a plein air painting style can convey such
profound feelings to audiences based on thorough observation and comprehension (Perry, 1927).
Thus, there are four groups of emotion in Monet s paintings, which are serenity, loneliness,
confusion, and joy. The first group of emotion in Monet s paintings is serenity. Serenity is a state
in which people are liberated from anxiety or stress of daily hassle. Monet,... Show more content on

Joy is an emotion that reflects the fulfilment of human s desires involving the relationship.
Monet, in general, depicts the happiness in his paintings based on a group of people and a
nature as a subject matter (Stuart, 1916). A group of people represents love and caring between
friends with an impressively intimate conversation. They share a moment of laughter while
reminiscing the hilarious action of their friends. Furthermore, the beautiful nature around them,
such as the flower bushes and the small trees, is depicted in a vividly bright tone of color as
responded to the joyful moment of people. While, the their clothes are depicted in a more natural
shade of color, such as blue and green. These colors imply that their feelings toward one another
are perceptibly real and sincere as a natural color (Fitzgerald, 1905). The emotion of his paintings
is mostly described in an amiable atmosphere of a group of people that shares a similar taste in
particular subject (Fitzgerald, 1905). Monet paints them with the reminiscent emotion of his
colleagues helping and supporting him through difficult times (Borgmeyer, 1912). A wonderful
example of joyful moments in Monet s paintings is Le DГ©jeuner sur l herbe or known as The
luncheon on the Grass (Isaacson, 1972). The subject matter is a group of people having lunch
together amid the beautiful nature. The colors in this painting include a natural shade of yellow,
green, and blue. The painting represents the amiably delightful atmosphere of friends sharing food
and beverage (Isaacson, 1972). In summary, joy is the final group of

Deviance and Internet Piracy
Deviance? Defined as anything of violation of the norm.
In the sociological perspective of functionalist, deviance is important for society to remain

Sermon On The Mount Essay
CHAPTER 1
SERMON ON THE MOUNT: GENERAL OUTLOOK
1.0INTRODUCTION
In this chapter we are dealing with Sermon on the Mount in a general outlook. Here we will mainly
see the Sermon on the Mount in the gospel of Matthew, its connection with the Old Testament and
the New Testament setting of the Sermon on the Mount.
1.1 SERMON ON THE MOUNT IN THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW
The Sermon on the Mount is recorded in the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh chapters of the Gospel
According to St. Matthew.
1.1.1 MATTHEW THE EVANGELIST
Tradition attributes the authorship of the first Gospel to the Apostle Matthew who sat under the tax
booth and followed Jesus (9:9f; 10:3). Today few hold the view that Matthew the tax collector is
the author of the Gospel. While this Matthew may have been an original source for the Gospel,
the final form as we now have it seems to be the work of a Gentile Christian who was well versed
in the Hebrews but who made enough mistakes.
It is some time difficult to state with exactness the authorship of ancient writings. The name
Matthew means gift of the Lord. Mark and Luke, in the story of his calling, name him Levi.
Perhaps this was his original name, and he received a new name from Jesus when he became a
disciple. (It has also been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gospel has traditionally and popularly been known as the Jewish gospel, sometimes over
against Luke or John as the gentile gospel. The following facts illustrate that the gospel is written
for Jewish Christians. Matthew includes sayings from Q and M that stress the continuing validity
of the law (Mt 5:17 48).His readers then were probably Jewish Christians for whom the Jewish law
was relevant. He shows interest on matters that are distinctively Jewish such as Sabbath, temple etc.
Mathew does not explain Jewish customs. Luke traces Jesus ancestry back to Adam, father of
human race, Matthew back to Abraham, father of Jewish

Wuthering Heights is a timeless classic in which Emily BrontГ« presents two opposite settings.
Wuthering Heights and its occupants are wild, passionate, and strong while Thrushcross Grange

At the sight of Hindley coming home drunk, Nelly Dean takes the shots out of the gun, which he
was fond of playing with in his insane excitement (75) and tries to hide Hareton from his drunken

keeping his son away from him, finally threatening her with a carving knife. And when Hareton
neglects to kiss his father, Hindley picks up the frightened boy, denouncing, I ll break the brat s
neck (76). Then, carrying him up the stairs, Hindley puts Hareton over the banister and releases
him, only scarcely caught by Heathcliff. Obviously, Hindley acts with wild passion, often times
resulting in violence.
Growing up in this wild and stormy household, Heathcliff also takes on these attributes. After
Hindley gambles the house away and dies, Heathcliff becomes the master, belittling Hareton?a
destined gentleman of the area to a lowly, uneducated, friendless servant, often beating him as
Hindley did himself. Besides beating Hindley s son, Heathcliff also strikes young Cathy in a fit of

terrific slaps on both sides of the head (258), and when Nelly attempts to stop him, Heathcliff
silences her by a touch on the chest (258). Like their surroundings, the occupants of Wuthering

The Importance Of The Female Egg For Reproduction
Abstract From Aristotle and Plato studying animals. To 1653 William Harvey discovering the
importance of the female egg for reproduction. Anton Van Leeuwenhoek in 1678 used the
microscope to identify sperm as a seed. Elizabeth Osgood Goodrich Willard came up with the
term sexology and opened to the research to understand sex in a whole new level. In this paper
we will learn about a couple different sexologist and how they did the research on sex.
Keywords: Havelock Ellis, Kurt Freund, Richard von Krafft Ebing, Masters Johnson 1897
Havelock Ellis reflected his view of gays and lesbians as having an inside out, or inverted pattern
of erotic attraction. Ellis had a desire to investigate the nature of sex. He needed to have a
physiological understanding of humanity before he turned his attention to the psychology. Ellis
was determined then to become a physician. Despite his training Ellis never made the practice of
his medical training central to his professional life (Bering, 2013). One of this sexologist s most
important contributions was his clarifying that homosexuality is a psychological orientation, not
simply a random sex act or behavior involving the same sex. He didn t personally believe that gay
and lesbians were perverts, but he used this term to convey how religious moralist wrongly saw
homosexuals and other deviants as deliberately going against what is right, since for hundreds of
years before it ever connoted anything sexual, pervert was an epithet

Marketing Of A Target Market
2.Literature Review
Philip Kotler argues that the key to successful marketing is the STP strategy that is, segmentation,
targeting and positioning (Kotler, 1997). Amongst many other marketers, it has been realised that
in order to successfully meet customers demands, it is necessary to recognise that not all of the
target market for a certain product are alike. Therefore in order to effectively meet the target
markets needs it is essential to segment the market.
2.1.Segmentation
Identifying various segments of a target market can be achieved by examining geographic,
demographic, psychographic and behavioural differences among consumers. Segmentation is a
methodological process of dividing a market into distinct homogenous groups that might require
separate experiences or marketing service mixes (Venugopal and Baets 1994) (Sulekha Goyat.
2011). There are numerous ways how market segments can be identified (Mazanec, 1997; Wedel
Kamakura, 1998). The process by which segmentation takes place consists of three main elements:
segmentation, targeting and positioning (Kotler, 1998). Figure 1 gives an overview of these elements

areas such as nations, regions, cities and neighbourhood types, it represents one of the oldest

Critics have also argued that ISIS is a dying down, because the Iraqi military is now fighting
them and reducing their strength as well. While in Syria, the Russians have sent their air force
to unrelentingly bomb them, while government troops from the Syrian government move into

however the Russians have been accused of targeting civilians and civilian property, such as
schools and hospitals. This is evident is Aleppo as hospital staff have claimed that Russian jets
that have flown over hospitals have dropped their bomb loads on them, causing massive
destruction and killing staff and patients alike Between Thursday and Saturday, the regime or its
Russian ally bombed four hospitals, rebel held Aleppo s only blood bank and a forensic
pathology lab, nearly all in the Al Sha ar neighborhood, one of the biggest and poorest parts of
east Aleppo. (Gutman 4). Many officials have said that civilian casualties have increased when
the Russians had intervened in Syria, thus causing the population to flee and lose faith in the
Russians as they continue bombing ISIS and other targets, such as the many Syrian rebel
factions in the Civil War Apart from the nine dead, eight missing and dozens injured, this strike

The Management, Economy, and Politics has Created Changes...
Higher education in the United States has changed considerably. The idea of providing
professional pedagogue has been diverged to capital accumulation . The number of non tenure
professors has increased while the number of tenured professors has decreased. According to John
Lombardi, thirty five years ago nearly 75 percent of all college professors were tenurable but today
those proportions have reversed. (John Lombardi, Your Problem is My Problem, pg 2). Despite this
reduction of tenured professors, tuition is drastically increasing. Consequently the number of
undergraduate students in college has declined. These recent changes in higher education, is caused
by the management, the economy and politics. The managements have contributed to theses
changes by neglecting the concept of employing professional and experience professors. Instead
they have adopted the concept of employing professors who are willing to accept the job for low
income irrespective of their experience and professionalism. In colleges today, it is rare to pass
through two sessions without been taught by one or two non tenureprofessors. Most non tenure
professors do not have the experience and effectiveness and the same level of educationa tenured
teacher has but to economize capital, the management prefer these non tenure teacher than the
experience tenured professors. This concept does not improve the technicality of students rather it
deprive and discourages students from learning. According to

Canada Goose has experienced steady organic growth as a niche brand, selling their product
through independently owned stores. By June 2008 it was selling product in 28 different
countries across North America and Europe plus two authorized online retailers. Now it has a
significant opportunity to further cement itself as a market leader by placing its product with a
national chain. Initially, Canada Goose considered offers from two national chain retailers. One
offer came from a Canadian chain called Asmuns Place. Another offer came from Levene s
Menswear. Table 1 provides a high level overview and compares these two offers.

Firstly, the Canada Goose brand faces a threat from the increased number of fake products by
counterfeiters. Secondly, there is a rising concern from independent stores that national chain stores
would discount Canada Goose products causing their sales to drop. And thirdly, Lisa Freedman
from Asmuns Place made a last minute offer for exclusive distribution of Canada Goose female and
menswear through their store chain. This offer restricts Canada Goose s flexibility in terms of
choosing a distribution partner, but simplifies the distribution process.
Recommendations
Pursue both initial opportunities with the women s closing product line for Asmuns Place and
with the men s product line for Levene s Menswear. This will result in an increase in the market
share in Canada by 10%. It will provide the ability to bring newer products to market, and not
restrict the distribution of products to a single national chain store. Canada Goose should define the
conditions under which Asmuns Place or any other retail chain will feature its products in store
advertisements. It also needs to assure its original distribution partners that they will be able to
maintain their existing brand prestige and pricing throughout all their stores in Canada.
Canada Goose should expand their distribution of its product to Eastern Europe starting with Russia
since it is a country with severe winter conditions. This will assure Canada Goose growth without

to its innovativeness. The cinematography, sound, and narrative structure cemented Citizen Kane s

described why Citizen Kanewas held up to such high regard, using examples from other scenes to
highlight how the use of certain techniques help to make the film stand out. Naremore writes that
Kane is important for many reasons, among them its ingenious juggling of time and perspective, its

Citizen Kane focuses on developing scenes from the protagonist s past, and how his death has
affected the secondary plot of a reporter investigating his last words. The narrative strategy, in
which the whole story is told in flashback from slightly different points of view (the equivalent of
the unreliable narrator in fiction), was unprecedented in a Hollywood film. The technique of
telling the story of Kane from multiple points of view dispels the illusion that we are learning
the truth about Charles Foster Kane. As numerous commentators such as Naremore have
observed, the film is like a complicated jigsaw puzzle which the viewer must piece together, bit
by bit, in order to see the whole picture. Only in the final moments of the film, when we despair
of ever discovering the meaning of Rosebud, does the film s narration return us to a privileged
omniscient perspective, revealing the final missing piece. One scene that helps develop the unique
structure is the beginning scene, with the film opening to Kane s death. Most films do not begin
with the character s death, especially with a detailed scene like Citizen Kane. At the start of the

Comparison Of Zika And Ebola Virus
Over the years man has been confronted with many trials and hurdles, but Zika and Ebola virus
are the definitely the most notable of the modern times. Generally we come up with very clever
solutions to medical problems, after all, we have had many years of experience. Zika is a subtle,
easily transmitted, virus first found in monkeys living in Uganda in 1947. It was then found in
humans in 1952, and spreading to South America starting the largest outbreaks in modern times.
This virus is present in Africa, the Americas, Asia, and the Pacific. Ebola, on the other hand, is a
whole different ballgame. The symptoms are violent and set on fairly quickly. First discovered in
1976, Ebola has made headlines only recently. We shouldn t forget that this... Show more content on

Zika and Ebola both have taken people by surprise. Eighty percent of the people infected with Zika
do not even develop symptoms. In turn, this halted the awareness of the disease. When the Ebola
outbreak started to spread the usual fierce announcement of the virus was delayed, and even after
the presence of the virus was announced, it had already spread too much. The difference between
the two viruses is the action taken by the countries. Guinea and other Ebola plagued countries,
with the help of international health organizations, took measures to inform and help the public
after an initial delay. This came with obvious effects; Guinea has left the forty two day period
(two Ebola incubation cycles) and entered the ninety two day enhanced surveillance period with
no cases whatsoever. During this period any suspected cases will be immediately handled with
extreme care. In Brazil, however, corruption, poor sewage and water systems, and negligent health
care providers have not helped in the fight against Zika. The rainforests that have been chopped
down in Brazil are just one giant breeding ground for mosquitoes that carry Zika, and this is just
amplifying the spread of the virus. Within the African rainforest, recent periods of drought
alternated with wet seasons spread the virus. After a prolonged period of drought the fruit trees will
stop producing fruit and the animals will grow hungry. When

Spring River Case Study
To fully analyze Spring Creek, the collected samples must be representative of the depth and
width of this creek. To make sure that the width of all the samples was represented, the boat
moved side to side of the entire channel of as samples of the water surface were collected. To get
samples that are representative of the depth, the geologists sampled the upper 0.2 to 2.5m of the
riverusing a three meter long tube with a diameter of five centimeters. The shores of the Spring
Creek were also sampled in order to determine if there was any deposition of heavy metals along
the shores (Alpers, Taylor, Domagalski, 2000).
The EPA used data that was collected from the SCDD by the United States Bureau of
Reclamation (USBR) In the 1960s, the USBR dammed Spring Creek with the SCDD to prevent
heavy metals from dispersing throughout the Spring Creek water system. The installation of the
dam allowed the USBR to analyze the water collected from the SCDD for copper and zinc levels.
From then on, the USBR would determine the average daily discharge calculated from the gates of

As a result, the nearby water systems became filled with pollution. The EPA has taken action to
ensure the reduction of the contaminant levels and to prevent the contamination from spreading
further into other water systems. They began to install several water treatment plants to clean the
water out. As the EPA tries to remediate the Iron Mountain Mine, they have been analyzing water
samples from the Spring Creek to determine if the levels have changed. Thanks to the efforts by the
EPA, the levels of contamination has reduced significantly by at least 80%. The percent reduction
of heavy metals continues to rise due to the efforts set by the EPA. Although the levels have
declined, there still needs to be continued efforts to ensure that the Iron Mountain Mine no longer

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The English...
English Language Learners There are many English Language Learners who may be at a higher
disadvantage because they are learning English as a second language. Being introduced to any
language is a challenging task for all small children; consequently, students who cannot
communicate with any school staff members are often left behind. Due to the variety of languages
in a school setting it would be difficult to have a dual immersion program set in place. However, in
Kern County, there are many small towns whose population is primarily Spanish speaking. These
town s students are faced with many difficulties as they try to adjust and transition to English
because a lot of their parents do not speak English themselves. Schools with a high population of
Spanish speaking students should offer a dual immersion program because it will provide their
students the necessary tools to become proficient English languagelearners.
Difficulties
Many times, school faculty may feel that incorporating a dual immersion program may be
confusing for students. They feel that their primary goal should be to learn English and there
should be no distractions. In the past, due to these conflicting ideas, Most schools did away their
long term bilingual programs, even though, prop 227 didn t actually outlaw learning in a foreign
language (Mongeau, 2016). Students would benefit from learning two languages because they may
need to follow instruction in their first language to understand the

Space Exploration Argumentative Essay
In 1969, the iconic first steps on the moon drew in 500 million people who watched from their
television screens. Since then, two thirds of Americans say they are interested in space
exploration. What is stopping NASA and other space programs from feeding into Americans
interests? Many argue that space exploration is vital to our society and one day the human race in
its entirety will have no option but to leave Earth in search of a new planet. Others insist the space
programs in America have created some of the world s most useful inventions, ranging from CT
scanners to digital cameras to firefighting equipment; these inventions supposedly prove space
explorations worth. While these statements may have some truth to them, there are multiple
setbacks that make space exploration difficult for American space programs to accomplish, and, in
the end, not worth it at least for now. One of the most significant issues is the cost. According to
Washington Post, funding for space exploration in America is at an all time low of one half percent,
reduced from four percent of America s government spending. With this low percentage of
government investment, the costs that are required to send... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In reality, the impact of space exploration on humans is as much a mystery as what could be
discovered. Until scientists conduct more research, it s not safe enough for humans to travel further
into the cosmos. For now, there are too many variables involved that make space exploration not
worth the time, effort, and money. Once scientists have obtained enough information regarding
cosmic exploration, it s certain that the American people will be forever affected. As Ron Garan

The Aryan Brotherhood, The Guerilla Family, And The...
Abstract
Prison gang/security threat groups are growing and impacting penitentiary s around the world in a
negative way. The Aryan Brotherhood, The Guerilla Family, and the Mexican Mafia are three of
many powerful and efficient gangs that flourished in a California prison. Each of these gangs has
its own differences and have a long term history that explains to the reader how these gangs started
their record of criminal acts such as murder, drug trafficking, etc. Correctional staff main goal is to
minimize the violence that come with the prison gangs. It is concluded that the best way to control
gang violence is through separation of members and enemies. Whether if it s through transporting
members to other prisons or through segregation. Studies have shown these findings may not
always be effective because of the growth of prison gangs and the unique ways of communicating
with other inmates in prison and on the outside world.
Prison Gangs and Security Threat Groups
Prison gangs are flourishing in modern prisons throughout the U.S. every day. Every gang has its
own way to distinguish themselves from other gangs. Colors, symbols, hand signs, race, and tattoos
are some of the characteristics gangs use to identify which gang each member belongs to. The
increase in gang activity has been a growing concern to correctional facilities because prison gangs
ultimately put staff and non members safety at risk. Gangs, such as the Aryan Brotherhood, Mexican

Personal Speech On Football
In just about every football game from any age group there is always some sort of peptalk. This
is usually given by the coach to fire up the players and get them ready for the game ahead of
them. The pep talk I got that night will be in my mind for the rest of my life. My Coach always
gave us life lessons that were key not only on the field but off of it as well. He would say things
such as there is no I in team and anything is accomplishable if you work hard enough. He was
always inspiring me with his speeches, but one stuck out the most. This speech was at one of our
Thursday night meetings; we would meet every Thursday to eat supper together as a team, hang
out with freinds, and most importantly get ready for the game on Friday. We would always sit in
chairs and listen to him; Usually ranting on about teamwork and stuff like that but he changed it
up. The life lesson he was teaching us was play like it was your last game.
In his story he talked about a bulldog, and how the owner showed no pity on him. The man
would not let the bulldog ride in the carriage with him, the dog always had to keep up with the
man. One night the man was riding in his carriage and decided to camp the night out. So he
stopped and set up his camp and noticed the dog wasn t around. The man said to his kids if the
bulldog wants to live he will catch up . The kids were devastated at this and wanted the dog back,
but did not testify their dad s words. The man woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of
growling and vicious snarling. That s when he heard his bulldog aggressively barking back at the
creature. The man didn t dare go outside to help his dog because he thought the dog had the
willpower and strength to fend for itself. So he heard a long going battle of barking, growling,
biting, and whimpering. At about midnight the fighting noises stopped in a great whimpering
noise. He didn t know if the dog was still alive or not but he went back to sleep. The next day the
man and his family woke up and left the tent to find his bulldog laying in the grass next to a giant
grey wolf. The bulldog fought for its life and won, this is because the wolf thought he had nothing
to lose but the bulldog fought for everything he had. My

The Role Of Independent Agencies And The White House Staff...
The modern American presidency is defined as the presidency s transition to the center of American
governance. Distinct from typically passive and isolated presidencies during the 18th and 19th
centuries, the modern American presidency of the mid 20th century set the use of power and
popularity as precedence. The transition to the modern presidency can be understood through the
development of the presidency s institutional, international, and perceptual identity. In this essay, I
will argue that the increasing role of independent agencies and the White Housestaff that
spearheaded executive policymaking led to a significant institutional change to the presidency. I
will also argue America s expanding international function in response to globalization placed the
presidency, responsible for foreign policy, in a newly found position to exercise power. Finally, I
will argue that the public perception of the presidency as a living reality (Reedy, p. 10) shifted it
from a peripheral political entity to one at the center of policy discussion and leadership. In this
essay, I will present examples of the modern presidency in the attributes of administrations from
Franklin D. Rooseveltthrough John F. Kennedy, as well as evaluate scholarly models that
contextualize how attributes of these administrations shaped the modern presidency, such as John
Burke s Institutional Presidency, Aaron Wildavsky s Two Presidencies, and George Reedy s
American Monarchy.

Cults Of The People s Temple
Since from the beginning and as far as the eye can see, cults have been and will continue to be
part of human life. These small religious groups can happen anywhere and have been the cause of
much debate and interest. For humans have an innate need to know why things are the way they
are. Cults for one have done some rather unmoral things that lead the people to ask, Why did they
do it? The People s Temple, Aum Shinrikyo, and Ku Klux Klan are extraordinary examples of
wicked cults that begged the question Why? When people think of crazed cults The People s
Temple quickly comes to mind because it truly fits the definition of a cult a small group of very

Orphan Train Character Analysis
Throughout the novel Orphan Train, there is the reoccurring importance of names for characters.
Niamh receives a total of three different names in her lifetime, each name representing a different
persona. Niamh is naГЇve and acts her age, Dorothy experiences hardships and is forced to
suppress her emotions, Vivian is identified as the Neilson s child and has a more stable home life.
On the other hand, Molly has a significant nameto her culture that helps her to relate to her culture
with the events she has gone through in her life.
To begin with, Niamh was Vivian s original name. Niamh was a child, who had a familythat
immigrated to Ireland. Niamh experienced the death of what she thought was every family member,
she was mourning that loss for as long as she had that name. Niamh was put into the Children s Aid
Society that put her onto the orphan train and placed her with the Byrnes family. Niamh was still
innocent and had no idea the mistreatment she would face. Niamh says as she reaches Minnesota,
how strange, I think that I am in a place my parents have never been and will never see. How
strange that I am here and they are gone. I touch the Claddagh cross around my neck (Kline 62.)
Her saying this expresses how Niamh is longing for comfort and has yet to reach the realization that
she has become undesirable. She still acts as if she is unsuspecting and innocent.

Nonprofit Theatres
Finances
A problem with the arts in general, and theatre in specific, is funding and paying for everything
that goes into the creation of the art. In the case of other forms of art, visual arts specifically, the
artists often invest in the art, first absorbing the costs of material then selling the art for a profit.
This is harder in theatre and fine arts where personal budgets are often overwhelmed by the cost of
materials, technical instruments, and other costly measures necessary for the show to go on, this,
not including the money to keep the lights on and the space open. Regional theatres outnumber
what most people consider professional theatre, such as Broadway, and a good percentage of
regional theatres are nonprofit. Nonprofit theatres ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Branding can draw people in, but can also drive people away, and in order to be successful it
must be unified across platforms. Branding for the arts is a bit more difficult than branding for a
company. Essentially, the products and the tone of the brand changes with each new season. To
accommodate this we must build a brand that both separates us from the competition and allows
for flexibility. For example, the Croswell Opera House markets itself as the oldest theatre in
Michigan. This is something they have used to create their brand, it separates them from the
local competition, but also doesn t pigeonholes them into a certain type of performance. In this
way they are both flexible and unique. Theatres help to shape their brand with their
performances. By performing a certain type of theatre, whether experimental, Shakespearean, or
classical, a theatre can quickly gain a reputation, and a brand. Recently, the push for theatres has
been the move to social media. We typically think of regional theatre attendees as being older,
and in fact the mean age of theatre goers is 44 years. (Broadway League. 2015) This presents a
problem. Unless we engage younger audiences, the current theatre goers will age and we may start
to lose our audiences. (Shugoll Research. 2008) So theatres are now looking to branch out and
going to where they can reach a younger generation. In addition, our generations have

A Comparative Analysis of Shakespeares Shall I Compare...
A Comparative Analysis of Shakespeares Shall I Compare Thee and Donne s The Flea In shall I
Compare Thee Shakespeare is addressing a woman, although it is not clear who, the most likely
person is his dark lady. Shakespeare addresses this woman directly in a charming way. The poem
is not said to of been set in a particular place but I believe it is more then likely to of have been set
in a garden because the things he compares the woman with are found outside. The poem is about
Shakespeare trying to explain he deep his love is for this woman. Although I would like to believe
that this poem is about platonic love it is my opinion that Shakespeare is trying to ensure a sexual
relationship with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poems second argument is marked with a discourse marker, in this case But . The poems
second argument is why the woman is better then summer, Shakespeare says Sommers lease hath
all too short a date….but thy eternall sommer shall not fade Shakespeare is saying that
summer ends and fades, but you never will. The last two lines of Shall I Compare Thee , So
long as men can see, so long lives this, and this gives life to thee. The first thing I noticed about
the final couplet is that they are indented from the rest of the text; I believe this is to give this
final couplet the feel of a conclusion. These two lines mean that as long as people can read then
this woman s beauty will live forever and that in the poem she can never die. In The Flea the
poems first argument is when Donne uses the flea to add impact and emphasise his point that
her losing her virginity is not a big deal. He says it has already sucked from him and from her
and that in this flea their blood is mingled. Donne uses this type of sexual innuendo a lot in this
poem. After Donne says this the woman tries to kill the flea. When this happens Donne changes
the direction he was going with his argument and starts to say that this flea is a very big deal, that
they have been married inside this flea and that if she kills it she will commit not just one crime but
in killing the flea she

  • 2. Gun Control in the United States Gun Control in the United States has gone out of control. The United States should enforce laws to not allow any guns in a house hold in order to reduce violence and crime in the country. Reducing the rate of crime in the United States, controlling big weapons, taxing ammunition, and gun collection can help make this happen. Gun Control can make this country a safer environment to live in. Gun Control has obviously gone out of control in the recent years. Look around, they are everywhere. Reducing the rate of Crime in the United States would make the country a better place to live. In the past and in the present, Mass Shootings have impacted America. The mafia was the leading group in criminal activity in the 1960 s(Darity). The mafia was a group that would make tons and tons of money off of drugs, robberies and murders. They would sometimes pay off cops to look the other way and if they didn t get what they wanted they would use their firearms. With stronger and more enforced laws, many lives could have been saved. The mafia isn t the only group with guns being used. Gangs are also using guns on an everyday basis. The gangs on the streets are just like the mafia. They sell drugs, rob people/stores and murder. Not all gangs are on the streets, some are underground. The point is without guns on the streets, neighborhoods and cities will be a safer place to live. A big controversy in congress is passing a law to Tax ammunition/bullets to a gun. This will not just help the country from crime, it will help the economy. Today almost 65% of people own a gun and 50% have live ammunition to that gun (Domenech). Taxing every bullet to every gun in the entire country will generate millions of dollars. Another idea is to have gun collection days and ammunition collection days. Obviously the more guns you bring in, the more money the government will give to you. If none of these ideas work, congress can at least limit the ammunition to a gun in a house. The thought of having a gun ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The new calendar renamed the months of the Gregorian calendar and rearranged them so that each month contained three weeks of ten days each; at the end of each year there were five days of festivals dedicated to virtue, intelligence, labor, opinion, and rewards. This calendar was kept in place until 1806 when it was abolished by Napoleon. The National Convention and other republican groups cited many reasons for the adoption of a new calendar, including ridding the republic of the old regime and implementing a more reasonable system. • 10. How Did Upton Sinclair Contribute To The Gilded Age Though best known for his muckraking efforts that helped to end the Gilded Age, Upton Sinclair wrote nearly a hundred books in his lifetime. From a young age his mother encouraged in him a love of reading; when he could, Sinclair would read for up to fourteen hours a day. However, his childhood was also marked by poverty and by his father s raging alcoholism. His mother took a strong sense of morality against his father s drinking and of all types of sinning. These strict morals implanted in him made the socialist party very appealing. Sinclair was willing to make small sacrifices for the greater good, especially since he had seen how damaging poverty can be. Even going as far to run for mayor and a senatorial seat, Sinclair believed deeply in the socialist cause. This theme shines in all of his works; in his most famous novel, The Jungle, Sinclair explores the evils of capitalism. He even goes as far as to compare Jurgis journey through the corrupt urban jungle to that of Dante through his Inferno, to hear this man describe the animals which came to his place would have been worthwhile for a Dante or a Zola (Sinclair 80). Suitably, The Jungle and The Divine Comedy were meant to be taken on both literal and allegorical levels; a point that many original readers did not understand. Both Dante and Jurgis find salvation at the end of their journeys, Dante in heaven, and Yurgis in socialism. Throughout The Jungle, Jurgis is searching for something to cling to in belief. First Jurgis puts his faith in his work ethic and youth to allow him to rise out of poverty. Then, when that fails in an accident, he puts his faith in his family; which becomes shattered when Ona reveals that she was selling her body for money. His son s death pushed him over the edge, and then he put his faith back in himself, this time as the wizened abuser of those who know less. The judicial system, economic system, and his own morals fail Jurgis. In his despair, the light of socialism shone through and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Helen Keller Metaphor Helen Keller, who was born on June 27th, 1880 and died June 1st, 1968, was one of the most important people of her time. She accomplished so much in fields such as literature and politics. The fact that she was able to do so much with her life is impressive not only in the fact that she was a woman, but more impressive due to the fact that she became blind and deaf at only eighteen months old. Through the help of Anne Sullivan though, Keller, was able to learn so much. This short story, The Day Language Came into My Life, is an excerpt from her autobiography, where she recalls her memories from when she first learned about language. In her story, Keller, uses a unique metaphor to describe what it was like going from no language to having a language. She does this by comparing herself to a boat in a dense fog with no compass or sounding line, who was just lost at sea in a tangible darkness, and then the light came into her world. This light that meant so much to Keller was the love of her teacher, Anne Sullivan.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most prominent examples is when she smashes the doll on the ground because she had not loved the doll because in that world she had not known love. The doll represents Keller and how before the light comes she is angry and broken but then after the light she feels more complete, even though the doll doesn t get fixed completely. One other example is the time when she feels water and learns what it is called, and suddenly feels awakened, hopeful, and even free. All in all, Helen Keller s use of metaphor is very effective in describing her experience. Through her metaphor she conveys how language and love come into her life and push out all of the fog and completely change her world for the better, giving her hope, happiness, and the feeling of ... • 31. Marketing Of A Target Market 2.Literature Review Philip Kotler argues that the key to successful marketing is the STP strategy that is, segmentation, targeting and positioning (Kotler, 1997). Amongst many other marketers, it has been realised that in order to successfully meet customers demands, it is necessary to recognise that not all of the target market for a certain product are alike. Therefore in order to effectively meet the target markets needs it is essential to segment the market. 2.1.Segmentation Identifying various segments of a target market can be achieved by examining geographic, demographic, psychographic and behavioural differences among consumers. Segmentation is a methodological process of dividing a market into distinct homogenous groups that might require separate experiences or marketing service mixes (Venugopal and Baets 1994) (Sulekha Goyat. 2011). There are numerous ways how market segments can be identified (Mazanec, 1997; Wedel Kamakura, 1998). The process by which segmentation takes place consists of three main elements: segmentation, targeting and positioning (Kotler, 1998). • 35. The Management, Economy, and Politics has Created Changes... Higher education in the United States has changed considerably. The idea of providing professional pedagogue has been diverged to capital accumulation . The number of non tenure professors has increased while the number of tenured professors has decreased. According to John Lombardi, thirty five years ago nearly 75 percent of all college professors were tenurable but today those proportions have reversed. (John Lombardi, Your Problem is My Problem, pg 2). Despite this reduction of tenured professors, tuition is drastically increasing. Consequently the number of undergraduate students in college has declined. These recent changes in higher education, is caused by the management, the economy and politics. The managements have contributed to theses changes by neglecting the concept of employing professional and experience professors. Instead they have adopted the concept of employing professors who are willing to accept the job for low income irrespective of their experience and professionalism. In colleges today, it is rare to pass through two sessions without been taught by one or two non tenureprofessors. Most non tenure professors do not have the experience and effectiveness and the same level of educationa tenured teacher has but to economize capital, the management prefer these non tenure teacher than the experience tenured professors. This concept does not improve the technicality of students rather it deprive and discourages students from learning. According to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By June 2008 it was selling product in 28 different countries across North America and Europe plus two authorized online retailers. Now it has a significant opportunity to further cement itself as a market leader by placing its product with a national chain. Initially, Canada Goose considered offers from two national chain retailers. One offer came from a Canadian chain called Asmuns Place. Another offer came from Levene s Menswear. Firstly, the Canada Goose brand faces a threat from the increased number of fake products by counterfeiters. Secondly, there is a rising concern from independent stores that national chain stores would discount Canada Goose products causing their sales to drop. And thirdly, Lisa Freedman from Asmuns Place made a last minute offer for exclusive distribution of Canada Goose female and menswear through their store chain. This offer restricts Canada Goose s flexibility in terms of choosing a distribution partner, but simplifies the distribution process. Recommendations Pursue both initial opportunities with the women s closing product line for Asmuns Place and with the men s product line for Levene s Menswear. This will result in an increase in the market share in Canada by 10%. It will provide the ability to bring newer products to market, and not restrict the distribution of products to a single national chain store. Canada Goose should define the conditions under which Asmuns Place or any other retail chain will feature its products in store advertisements. It also needs to assure its original distribution partners that they will be able to maintain their existing brand prestige and pricing throughout all their stores in Canada. Canada Goose should expand their distribution of its product to Eastern Europe starting with Russia since it is a country with severe winter conditions. She has check mated the world of poetry and has marked her name through her distinct style in poems such as A Death in Nova Scotia, Sestina, and In the Waiting Room. The poem, Death in Nova Scotia, discusses a young child coming to terms with her little cousins death and imagines what his afterlife will be like. The speaker also mentions that the house feels chilly (23) which can indicate that Bishop never felt completely comfortable in her grandparents house and not her parents home (which no longer existed). This poem parallels Bishops other poem Memories , and the reason for that; the grand father kept telling the young child to be polite and almost submissive to what he was saying because public appearance is important. Citizen Kane focuses on developing scenes from the protagonist s past, and how his death has affected the secondary plot of a reporter investigating his last words. The narrative strategy, in which the whole story is told in flashback from slightly different points of view (the equivalent of the unreliable narrator in fiction), was unprecedented in a Hollywood film. The technique of telling the story of Kane from multiple points of view dispels the illusion that we are learning the truth about Charles Foster Kane. As numerous commentators such as Naremore have observed, the film is like a complicated jigsaw puzzle which the viewer must piece together, bit by bit, in order to see the whole picture. Only in the final moments of the film, when we despair of ever discovering the meaning of Rosebud, does the film s narration return us to a privileged omniscient perspective, revealing the final missing piece. One scene that helps develop the unique structure is the beginning scene, with the film opening to Kane s death. The difference between the two viruses is the action taken by the countries. Guinea and other Ebola plagued countries, with the help of international health organizations, took measures to inform and help the public after an initial delay. This came with obvious effects; Guinea has left the forty two day period (two Ebola incubation cycles) and entered the ninety two day enhanced surveillance period with no cases whatsoever. During this period any suspected cases will be immediately handled with extreme care. In Brazil, however, corruption, poor sewage and water systems, and negligent health care providers have not helped in the fight against Zika. Others insist the space programs in America have created some of the world s most useful inventions, ranging from CT scanners to digital cameras to firefighting equipment; these inventions supposedly prove space explorations worth. • 49. The Role Of Independent Agencies And The White House Staff... The modern American presidency is defined as the presidency s transition to the center of American governance. Distinct from typically passive and isolated presidencies during the 18th and 19th centuries, the modern American presidency of the mid 20th century set the use of power and popularity as precedence. The transition to the modern presidency can be understood through the development of the presidency s institutional, international, and perceptual identity. In this essay, I will argue that the increasing role of independent agencies and the White Housestaff that spearheaded executive policymaking led to a significant institutional change to the presidency. I will also argue America s expanding international function in response to globalization placed the presidency, responsible for foreign policy, in a newly found position to exercise power. Finally, I will argue that the public perception of the presidency as a living reality (Reedy, p. 10) shifted it from a peripheral political entity to one at the center of policy discussion and leadership. In this essay, I will present examples of the modern presidency in the attributes of administrations from Franklin D. Rooseveltthrough John F. In the case of other forms of art, visual arts specifically, the artists often invest in the art, first absorbing the costs of material then selling the art for a profit. This is harder in theatre and fine arts where personal budgets are often overwhelmed by the cost of materials, technical instruments, and other costly measures necessary for the show to go on, this, not including the money to keep the lights on and the space open. Branding for the arts is a bit more difficult than branding for a company. Essentially, the products and the tone of the brand changes with each new season. To accommodate this we must build a brand that both separates us from the competition and allows for flexibility. For example, the Croswell Opera House markets itself as the oldest theatre in Michigan. This is something they have used to create their brand, it separates them from the local competition, but also doesn t pigeonholes them into a certain type of performance. In this way they are both flexible and unique. Theatres help to shape their brand with their performances. By performing a certain type of theatre, whether experimental, Shakespearean, or classical, a theatre can quickly gain a reputation, and a brand. Recently, the push for theatres has been the move to social media. We typically think of regional theatre attendees as being older, and in fact the mean age of theatre goers is 44 years. (Broadway League. 2015) This presents a problem. Unless we engage younger audiences, the current theatre goers will age and we may start to lose our audiences. A Comparative Analysis of Shakespeares Shall I Compare Thee and Donne s The Flea In shall I Compare Thee Shakespeare is addressing a woman, although it is not clear who, the most likely person is his dark lady. Shakespeare addresses this woman directly in a charming way. The poem is not said to of been set in a particular place but I believe it is more then likely to of have been set in a garden because the things he compares the woman with are found outside.
