Las Meninas (Maids of Honor) by Diego Velazquez, is a Bourque style Spanish painting from the

Conclusion:
In conclusion, my graph shows how the average rate of movement of the porcellio scaber moved
slower at lower temperatures (at 5В°C, the average rate of movement was 0.2cm/second) and
increased movement as the temperature got higher (at 25В°C, the average rate of movement was
0.5cm/second). My hypothesis was partially correct as the porcellio scabers did move slower at
lower temperatures and moved faster as the temperature increased. But, the porcellio scabers did
not move slower at their optimum range of 15В°C. This may have been because of the temperature
in the classroom at the time when I was doing my experiments. For example, when doing my
experiment at 15В°C, the temperature in the classroom was 24В°C. This factor may have affected
my results as the temperature in the room has affected the temperature being tested on the porcellio
scaber.
Discussion:
This investigation was carried out to determine if the rate of movement of porcellio scabers
changed when it was placed in different temperatures and therefore if the temperature affected

Death is an idea that everyone must wrestle with at one point in their life, whether it be a quickly
approaching doom or a peaceful end sixty years down the line. In Shute s On the Beach, each
character s individual arch in the novel take separate paths but are all headed towards the same
place: death. In response to the extreme scenario they are thrown into, that climax will come
much sooner than any of them intended and many are left wondering if they are ready to meet
their end. What each one of them decide to do along the way in order to make their lives end on a
positive note relates to how they choose to approach death. The theme deals with the way they react
to their death, and what each distinct reaction does for them whether it be comfort, distraction, or
enjoyment.
Being that no one can simply escape death, seeking comfort in it, or even welcoming it is a
tempting idea that many might juggle with when meeting their end. Peter Holmes is a character
in the novel with an ideal much in line with that goal: finding comfort in his doom and accepting
his death. However, that may only be scraping the surface in relation to his true beliefs and
motives. He knows a great deal more about the impending threat than his wife Mary because she

treatment of chronic pain is rather new. Overall, upon reviewing the available literature, it appears
as though research is focused on determining what particular chronic pain populations experience
the most success with CBT based treatments. To begin, Loebach Wetherell et al. (2016) recently
published the results of their study on the impact of age on the efficacy of CBT and acceptance and
commitment therapy (ACT) in the treatment of chronic pain. The 114 individuals who participated
in this study were between the ages of 18 and 89. In order to be included in this study, subjects had
to have been suffering from nonmalignant, chronic pain for a minimum of six months and have a
minimum score of 5 on the severity and interference subscales of the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI)
(Loebach Wetherell, Petkus, et al., 2016, p. 303). Following a medical and psychiatric evaluation,
subjects were randomized into groups that would receive either CBT or ACT. After completing a
four to six week pretreatment phase, study participants attended weekly, 90 minute CBT or ACT
group sessions over an eight week period. Blinded research assistants performed assessments at

The purpose of this paper by Pryor amp; Taneja (2010) is to illustrate through examining
contemporary management and management theories how Fayol s contribution of his principles
and model theory is relevant in management today.
This is done by a process of researching and examining the work of major academics (e.g.
Mintzberg (1989), Porter (1985), Taylor (1947), Kotter (1982), amp; Berdaves (2002)) Pryor and
Taneja (2010) compare the works and ideas of both Fayol and these authors to find the similarities
and differences between their theories.
A limitation of this article may be the large focus of similarities between studies, paying rare
attention to the differences between Fayol and the given management theorist. Future studies on
this issue should be undertaken in an argumentative manner, given equivalent attention to both
aspects of the argument. Indeed; this article supports the conclusions of similar studies (e.g.
Rodrigues, 2001. Archer, 1990. Fells, 2000) that Fayol s theory is relevant today, and that his 5
management functions are evident in all organisations (Hales 1986). Another shared conclusion
between journals is that Fayol s work sets the foundations of management practise and theory today.

adrenal crisis. Serum cortisol, less than 20 mcg/dL in severe stress or after ACTH stimulation is
indicative of adrenal insufficiency. ACTH test which is diagnostic, determine baseline serum
cortisol, then administer ACTH 250 mcg intravenous push (IVP), and then draw serum cortisol 30
and 60 minutes after ACTH administration. An increase of less than nine mcg/dL is considered
diagnostic of adrenal insufficiency. CBC, anemia mild and nonspecific, lymphocytosis, and
eosinophilia highly suggestive may be present. Serum thyroid levels, assess for

Personal Narrative-Grounded In My Voice
At the start of the semester I had become more aware and grounded in my voice. In my everyday
life, I would notice if I was holding my breath. The reason for this was because over the summer I
had to stand up to one of my shut up judges, my dad. The incident was extremely emotional, and I
coped with it through the use of my actor training; instead of checking out and holding tension, I
chose to breathedeeply and stay grounded. This allowed me to speak up even when I was told to
shut up. This awareness of breath was developed through necessity rather than choice. I had to be
strong. My strength didn t only come from being grounded in my breath, but it also came using
breathe to stay present in the room. The use of breath also allowed me to go into my body and
release the build up of emotions. As a result of these experiences, my voice was able to drop more
consistently to my lower resonatorrather than my typical chest voice.
The new drop in my voice had its own challenges as well. One, of course, was to avoid reverting

A fabliaux is a funny story told in verses in the 13th century. Fabliaux were told by storytellers.
The short stories were known for their comical observations on things like religion, remaining
pure until marriage, and how women were treated. The fabliaux style was simple; they made fun
of the everyday lives of characters that were from the middle or lower classes. The storylines were
often focused on promiscuous women and foolish men. It usually showed someone getting cheated
on. Also, there usually was some sort of successful trick in the story. In Geoffrey Chaucers The
Canterbury Tales, he uses the fabliaux style writing to portray how they viewed women in the
medieval period. He shows how a fabliaux can actually be a satire of a romantic scene. Chaucer
displays the fabliaux style writing in the stories of The Reeve s Tale, The Merchant s Tale, and
The Miller s Tale.
In the Reeve s Tale, John and Alan went to the miller s house to use the mill. The miller says
