The currency exchange rate has to be considered when the decision is based on cost figures of from two
countries with different currencies. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) used to calculate inflation rate in a
country has to be used in forecasting the future minimum wages as minimum wages are in proportion
with the inflation rate.
Discussion and Analysis
Structure of Payroll in Cornwall, Ontario
1. Minimum Wage
The minimum wage rate in Ontario is $11.60 per hour for 2017 and the minimum wage rates are subject
to annual indexation based on the inflation rate as per the Government of Ontario website.
Since, Inflation rate is measured through Consumer price index so, by taking the CPI data of 10 years
we have forecasted the CPI of 2022. As per the CPI the forecasted minimum wage of 2022 is estimated
at $12.51 per hour.
2. Health care costs
The employer health tax (EHT) is a payroll tax on remuneration paid to former employees and
employees.
The EHT rate varies from 0.98% to 1.95% of the wages depending upon the total payroll of the Ontario
employer.
3. Employment Insurance
The federal government directs the employer to deduct the employment insurance (EI) premium out of
the employee s insurable earnings on a condition that the employee must be in insurable employment.
The employer also has to make the contribution of 1.4 times the amount deducted from

Music Therapy And Its Effectiveness
Musical therapy is a precise, evidence based use of music to help accomplish certain goals or objectives
in a therapeutic setting. Research in music therapy supports its effectiveness in many areas such as:
overall physical rehabilitation, increasing people s motivation to become more involved in their
treatment, giving emotional support for clients and their families, and providing an way for expression
of their feelings to others. Musical therapy in a more detailed descriptions is an established health

The idea of music as a healing influence which could affect health and behavior in a positive way can be
traced back to being practiced in 357 B.C. Music was always thought to release bad energy from the
body. The 20th century researchers officially began after World War I and World War II when musicians
of all types, both amateur and professional, went to Veterans hospitals around the country to play for the
thousands of veterans suffering both physical and emotional trauma from the wars. The patients
obviously physical and emotional responses to music led the doctors and nurses to hire or ask musicians

The US Embargo on Cuba Essay
The US Embargo on Cuba
I. Introduction
In 1959, Cubareceived 74 percent of its imports from the US, and the US received 65 percentof Cuba s
exports. On February 3, 1962, the United States imposed a fulltrade embargo on Cuba, completely
ending any type of trade between the twocountries. This embargo remains in effect today, more than
four decades later, and has grown ! to be a huge center of debate and controversy (DeVarona
8).Opponents to the embargo argue that the embargo does nothing more than hurt theCuban people,
while proponents argue that the embargo places pressure on Castroto repair Cuba s mismanaged and
corrupt government. Both the supportersand the opponents of this embargo have strong arguments and

Also, there isevidence that access to medical care by prisone! rs is intentionally withheldfrom prisoners
of conscience, and other prisoners that criticized the Cubangovernment. Amnesty International reports
that suspected critics of thegovernment are being harassed with threats, eviction, loss of employment,
andeven short term incarceration. Even more disturbing is that these violationsare merely a fraction of
the true number of human rights breaches that theCuban government is guilty of committing ( Amnesty
International 2002Report ). But the human rights violations are not the only reason actionneeded to be
taken towards Cuba.
Another reason forimplementing the embargo on Cuba concerns the corrupt communist government
andUS hopes of promoting a transition to a democratic system. On February 3, 1962,President Kennedy
was confident that Castro was moving toward theestablishment of a to! talitarian regime in alliance with
the Soviet Union (DeVarona 7). This raised a huge national defense issue since Cuba is only 90miles
from US soil. The US government claims that the transition from communismto democracy will help
Cuba flourish, as other democratic countries in thewestern hemisphere have. ( Cuban Liberty and
Democratic Solidarity Act of1996 ).
Secondly, Cubaneeds to repair its corrupt, failing state run economy. The reality of thisstruggling

Why Is The Federal Reserve Important

The Federal Reserve has no significance in the U.S. economy
Introduction
In the event that the American individuals really saw how the Federal Reserve framework functions and
what it has done to us, they would be shouting for it to be nullified promptly. It is a framework that was
composed by global brokers for the advantage of worldwide investors, and it is methodically devastating
the American individuals. The Federal Reserve framework is the essential motivation behind why the
cash has declined in worth by well more than 95 percent and the national obligation has become more
than 5000 times bigger in the course of recent years. The Fed makes the blasts and the busts , and they

On the off chance that the public does not trust this, simply go out in the city and ask general individuals
where cash originates from. This is the reason it is so critical to get individuals taught. Imagine that
most Americans would be sickened to discover that the making of more cash in the framework
additionally includes the production of more obligation. At the point when the U.S. government
concludes that it needs to spend another billion dollars that it doesn t have, it doesn t print up a billion
dollars. Or maybe, the U.S. government makes a pack of U.S. Treasury bonds (obligation) and takes
them over to the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve makes a billion dollars out of nowhere and
trades them for the U.S. Treasury bonds. The U.S. Treasury securities that the Federal Reserve gets in
return for the cash it has made out of nothing are sold through the Federal Reserve framework. Be that
as it may, hold up, there is an issue. Since the U.S. government must pay enthusiasm on the Treasury
securities, the measure of obligation that has been made by this exchange is more noteworthy than the
measure of cash that has been made (Adrian and Shin

Literary Analysis Of Ross Capicchioni By Joyner Lucas
The song Ross Capicchioni by Joyner Lucas can be a prime example of a literary piece because of its
plot, multi perspectives, and tone throughout the song. Manipulating words so that it could fit into
different rhyming schemes to set a specific tone has added a dramatic and poetic effect on literary
writings. A good plot is one of, if not the most critical part of a literary piece because it keeps a reader,
viewer or listener interested in the piece. Lastly, the multi perspectives of the piece makes it literary
because of the ability to imagine and bring to life both points of views are rare in writings, songs and
poems.
Ross Capicchioni is based on a true story, which is about a 10th grade transfer student (Ross
Capicchioni) that is greeted and welcomed by another student at his high school. While Ross was
enjoying his time at school and building his friendship with one of his peers, the so called friend was
plotting to kill Ross but could not find a good time to do it. The song finally gets to a point where Ross
is offered a car by his uncle and is asked by his friend to be dropped off on a side of town that is known
to be gang affiliated. Regardless of the countless signs Ross notice s, he refuses to follow his gut but he
continues to help his friend . When they arrived at the destination Ross is stripped out of the car and is
shot with a shot gun 3 times (chest, head, and arm). Once he realizes that he has been shot and tries to
fight through the pain, the writer switches perspective from the victim to the perpetrator. When the
Joyner starts to rap, he first sets the tone of the song. Woke up at 7, my day seemed more than I prayed
for, Got dressed to head out and ride to school on my skateboard while the line seems to be very basic to
others, Joyner tells the listener this to give a sense of innocents to the character throughout the story.
Right after Joyner shows innocents of the high school kid, he follows the two lines with New kid in
class I sat alone takin notes while the hoodlums were makin jokes at the clothes that my momma paid
for . By now Joyner has also told us what type of neighborhood and kids that the innocent kid is dealing
with in his school. Using the term hoodlums tells

How Did North American Civilization Affect The Social...
Prior to European colonization, North America was home to many Native American Tribes. These tribes
spoke many different languages, had diverse social customs, and had different resources available to
them depending upon location. Two prominent native groups were the Pueblo People of the Southwest,
and the Tribes of the Mississippi River Valley. While these groups had some prominent similarities,
there were, in fact, many differences between them. The Pueblo People of the Southwest inhabited
thriving settlements in what are now Arizona, and New Mexico. Pueblo People had very interesting
living situations. They lived in multistoried buildings, which they shared with several other families.
These homes were built in place of the Anasazi settlements that had existed several years before.
Mississippians, however, lived in relatively small communities (typically between 500 and 2000 people)

Agriculture flourished in the southwest due to an elaborate system of canals, dams, and terraces which
helped crops thrive in the warm climate. The pueblo diet, much like that of the Anasazi before them,
consisted of brown beans, corn and squash. The Pueblo people also domesticated turkeys, and used dogs
to hunt wild game. The Pueblo thrived as far as agriculture was concerned. The warm climate made for
reliable food sources which kept them strong. This was likely helpful in their revolt against the Spanish,
as well as in future encounters with the Europeans. The tribes of the Mississippi River Valley struggled
with agriculture. The Little Ice Age, which took place from 1350 to 1800, had a detrimental effect on the
climate, and made it difficult to successfully grow crops. The poor weather, along with the fact that wars
were becoming more frequent, did not benefit Mississippians. Starvation became more and more
prevalent as crops were not growing, and it was too dangerous to hunt due to ongoing

Hepatitis C
Hepatitis C has been referred to as a Silent Epidemic, since it usually progresses slowly over many
years. Most people who are infected with hepatitis C are not aware of any noticeable symptoms for as
long as one to two decades after they are infected. In fact, by the time symptoms appear, the virus has
probably already begun to damage the liver. If the liver is injured and stops functioning, death will
always be the outcome (Lieber). Liver failure from chronic hepatitis C is one of the most common
causes of liver transplants in the United States. Hepatitis C is an inflammation of the liver s cells and
tissues caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV).

Lastly is unprotected sex. The virus is present in the menstrual blood of infected women, so sexual
intercourse at this time creates a potentially hazardous situation. There have been reports of transmission
of HCV through sexual intercourse outside menses and between males, but there is current debate as to
whether this is actually possible without the presence of a skin or tissue tear or some other disease that
provide an opening in the skin of both the infected person and potential recipient. Most people are
surprised to learn they have hepatitis C. Many people believe, they were never at risk for acquiring the
virus. They, therefore, cannot imagine how they contracted it.
There are a wide variety of symptoms that one, who is infected with hepatitis C, can experience while in
the different stages of the virus. The first symptoms occur between six to twelve weeks of contact with
the virus (Hoofnagle). The most common are flu like symptoms. They are fatigue, nausea, poor appetite,
fever, chills, headaches, sore throat, and joint pain (Turkington 34). These symptoms last only for about
a week so many people ignore them and go back to their normal lives. Once most people become
infected with acute hepatitis C and are untreated, patient will develop chronic hepatitis. In fact 85
percent of infected people develop chronic hepatitis C

The Locker Room At The Tennis Academy
Infinite Jest page 100 200 starts out with Hal Incandenza and his friends in the locker room at the tennis
academy. They talk about miscellaneous topics, but most is just usual stuff that teenage boys talk about.
Although, one theme that I find in their conversations is unhappiness. Most of the boys seem exhausted,
worn out, and just sick of being there. They go to the cartridge viewer room and start to question why
they are even there, because the players on the viewers do not look too happy either. I think that this
depression has a lot to do with why Hal likes to get high, even though he says he is addicted to the
secrecy of it, and while that may be true, I feel like subconsciously he knows that it is because he is
unhappy at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It details the conversation between the two, leading up to his first romantic experience, which wasn t
much of anything at all. I think that the theme of this section of the story was coming of age, and it gives
more of a glimpse into Mario Incandenza s character. Next, it skips to the Ennet House Drug and
Alcohol Recovery House. It states that the man who started this house was nicknamed, Guy Who Didn t
Even Use His First Name, but I cannot help but wonder if this is actually John Gately in the future, or
maybe if he lives in the Ennet House in the future. I believe that it may be John Gately because it
describes this man as an extreme tough old Boston AA galoot, which is similar to the description of
Gately as being a big, tough man. Later on, on pages 176 181, there are transcripts of the resident
interface drop in hours of Ms. Patricia Montesian, and these transcripts left me wondering if going to the
Ennet House for rehab is actually helping these people. Quotes such as, I have seldom felt les nurtured

Theme Of Sonnet 55
Sonnet 55 was written by William Shakespeare and can be found in the textbook on page 892. Everyone
wants to be remembered for something one way or another, and in Sonnet 55 Shakespeare alludes to
this. The theme of immortality is evident throughout the entire sonnet, and Shakespeare does not stray
away from it at all. Shakespeare s tone in the first quatrain of this sonnet comes off as a bit arrogant, but
it is necessary to get his point across. His tone then shifts to being negative, but quickly becomes much
more uplifting from the third quatrain until the end of the sonnet. Imagery of decay and destruction are
also used in this sonnet to support the points that Shakespeare wants to make. The first quatrain instantly

On the other hand, it can be argued that Shakespeare is talking about how war causes the death of a
culture, which leads to changes and people being forgotten (Shmoop Editorial Team, 2008). When
wasteful war shall statues overturn (5) is an example of alliteration used to help the beginning of this
quatrain flow smoothly. Shakespeare uses personification to drive home the fact that death and fire
cannot destroy ones living memory (8) that resides in the lines of his sonnet: Nor Mars his sword nor
war s quick fire shall burn/the living record of your memory (7 8). Shakespeare deviates from decay and
destruction in the third quatrain to bring the theme of immortality back to the forefront. His tone begins
to sound more uplifting when talking about going against death: Gainst death and all oblivious
enmity/Shall you pace forth; your praise shall still find room (9 10). In saying this, Shakespeare wants
the readers to know that death is not concerned with who is going against it, so if this sonnet marches
forward though history the prince will always be praised. His arrogance in this poem briefly shows itself
again in this quatrain: your praise shall still find room/even in the eyes of all posterity/That wear this
world out to the ending doom (10 12). In

A Critical Phase Of Dmaic
Improve This is the critical phase of DMAIC. Here is where we conduct brainstorming sessions. By
brainstorming we will be able to identify all the possible solution/outcome. From these possible
solutions, we will be able to pick out the optimal solution. As soon as we find the probable optimal
solution to the current problem, we try to implement it. After implementation of the optimal solution, the
next step is to evaluate. After the evaluation is done we come to know whether the solution which we
have implemented is optimal or not. Our current problem that is addressed in this project is regarding
overheating and explosion of SAMSUNG smartphones. After the brainstorming was done, several
solutions were put forward in order to identify possible reasons of the battery explosion. Following are
the possible solutions: Avoid charging and using phone simultaneously One of the major reasons
identified was charging of the phone and using is simultaneously. This is one of the common mistakes
that occur in the case of most users. When users charge their phone, and uses simultaneously then
charging and discharging of battery occurs at the same time. This is harmful for the battery and affects
its life span. Avoid long Gameplay Now a days there are lots of games which are very addictive and
requires high graphics. Due to this reason lots of users tend to play game for a longer duration of time
than the usual. Long duration of gameplay (such as 2 hrs)

Essay On Demand Of Fruits And Vegetables
Demand of Fruits and their prices
Aim and Objective of this study:
As the Indian population is increasing, the demand for fresh fruits and vegetables is also increasing.
Owing to the perishable nature and very short shelf life, these items require storage and transportation
facilities in order to reach to the customer in fresh state. This requires a considerable amount of effort
from the involved parties. The entire chain is fraught with issues like lack of transparency in pricing (at
the farmers end), dominance of traders, weak links in supply chain, etc. This leads to loss of revenue to

Get Rid Of A Bug Research Paper
Since aphids do not have much of a shell or armor to protect them, you can get rid of or slow this pest
down in some natural ways.
1. Squish them. This is a very time consuming method of getting rid of these insects. If you decide to go
this route, be sure to wear rubber gloves, or the juice from the bug may irritate your skin.
2. Hit the bugs with the hose. Spraying your plants with water will dislodge the critters and they will not
return to the same plant. There are hose attachments, like the bug blaster, that you can buy that is used
for this specific purpose.
3. Get rid of colonies. Colonies of aphids can be snipped off. If you find aphids in groups or colonies,
snip off the part of the plant that contain the colonies and kill the bugs. This will not get rid of all the
bugs, will it will help to lessen the additional breeding. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Use only slow release fertilizers. These insects love overly fertilized trees and plants, thus, a slow
release type of fertilizer on your plants will help keep aphids at bay. In addition, it is wise to put a
covering over your plants until they are large enough to withstand the aphids and other insects.
5. Get rid of ants. Ants will keep aphids alive, because aphids secrete honeydew or sugary sap, which
benefits the ant. The mutualistic relationship between ants and aphids is so strong that you may see ants
carrying aphids to other less populated plants. If you see ants running up and down the shoots of your
plants it s time to check to see if you have aphids in your garden. Not only will you need to get rid of the
aphids but also the ants.
6. Plant flowers. Plant marigolds, mums, asters, dahlias, and zinnias in your garden. Why? These plants
will attract insects that will prey on aphids. Their natural predators include ladybugs, parasitic wasps,

Relationship Between Stress, Anxiety and Phobias
Discuss the relationship between stress, anxiety, habits and phobias and describe how you would treat
these issues with hypnotherapy In order to understand the relationship between stress, anxiety, habits
and phobias, it is necessary to first define what each one is and how it might affect individuals. Stress
could be defined as a normal physiological response by the body to situations or stimuli which the brain
perceives as dangerous or threatening to the body. The body is a complex system and over time
developed a way of responding that was designed to keep us safe. Our subconscious mind is alert for
anything that might threaten our well being and when the brain perceives a threat a physiological
response occurs that prepares us ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anxiety is therefore closely tied in with stress as a response to a perceived threat. Anxiety is something
everyone experiences from time to time; perhaps before a job interview, hospital operation or whilst
waiting for very important news. Anxiety is related to the stress response of fight or flight . Whilst this
response is useful for protection against physical dangers, it s not likely to be useful where the perceived
threat relates to something such as a driving test or a public speaking engagement other than to makes us
try to avoid the situation. Anxiety can be triggered by a number of factors. A past experience that we
found unpleasant or associate with uncomfortable feelings, may create anxiety about it happening again
in the future. We also learn ways of responding to stresses from our parents and due to the environment
we grew up in. Signs and symptoms of anxiety include for example, churning stomach, muscle tension,
headaches, palpitations, sweating, heightened alertness, inability to relax and irritability. According to
Mind , the mental health charity, long term anxiety is bad for health, weakening the immune system,
lowering resistance to infection and increasing the risk of serious health

The Three Major Aspects Of Industrialization From 1865 To...
There are three major aspects of industrialization from 1865 to 1920 that influenced U.S. society,
economy and politics. These are urbanization, working conditions and laissez faire government.
Urbanization created cities who offered large numbers of workers for new factories. In turn, more
factories were built. Workers, both native born and immigrants, moved to cities looking for jobs.
Industrialism and post industrialism let to a decline in patriarchy within the family because of the
changes that were made to society.
The birth of the Industrial Revolution had one staggering advantage, even to the most distanced and
skeptical farmer: a living could be made that was not subject to climate changes. Therefore, a man could
actually be assured of regular, dependable wages. This did not, however, translate into a vast emigration
of farmers to the new cities. An economy based upon agriculture is altogether distinct from an industrial
one. The former is dependent upon the unpredictable elements of nature and the weather, the
consequences of which could lead to ruin and famine. Indispensable to this growth and development
were an unprecedented surge in immigration and urbanization after the Civil War. American society was
in transition. The industrial revolution meant more money and wealth for the upper classes, especially
the owners of large companies. It was thought that the wealth would be invested back into new factories,
so the Americans accepted this wealth distribution.

Sexual Swellings And Reproduction Of Female Baboon
Sexual Swellings/Reproduction The female baboon has a menstrual cycle just like human females have
(Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). While the human menstrual cycle lasts for
5 7 days, the baboon s menstrual cycle will last up to 35 days (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015;
Fitzpatrick, 2015). When estrus approaches, the female baboon will develop large swellings on or near
the vulva, perineum, and anus (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). These
swellings attract males, and plenty of baboon males will compete for that female (Alberts et al., 2015;
Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). This competition can become very violent, and whoever wins
the competition, reproduction will begin between him and that female (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et
al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015).
The most dominant male will mate with most estrous females (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015;
Fitzpatrick, 2015). After ovulation is over, the female s swellings rapidly decrease (Alberts et al., 2015;
Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). That female will no longer be attracted to males, and will care
for herself and her young (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). After six
months, one infant is born (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). The young
baboons are mainly black in color (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015).

Her Breaking Point
You must be Brooklyn, the middle aged lady, behind the counter, beams. Her warm greeting seemed to
calm my growing nerves. She leans over the counter abruptly, wrapping her strong arms around my
body. The nerves were back. As soon as she pulls away my eyes scan the small shop, searching for any
possible audience. Luckily the only other person inside was oblivious to the situation. The stranger
instantly grasps my attention; his lean body was nearly pressed against the shelf, and his head darts to
the left and then to the right, before returning to its previous position. Under closer observation I notice
how his arm reaches out and the way his fingers wrap around a bottle of alcohol I presume and how he
quickly stuffed the bottle into his coat, letting the black material envelope it... That guys stealing, I
spoke in a hushed tone, and my body shook with fear. What was that dear? The lady asks. That guy is
stealing, the lady spun towards the guy. Put that back, she yells, her demand was followed by the guy
breaking into a sprint and exiting through the door. The lady s hand digs into her pocket and pulls out a
mobile phone. Shouldn t we go after him? I don t know why I asked that, it s not as if I was going to go
after him. That s dangerous. No, I ll just call the owner, so he knows that someone has stolen something.
What did he steal? She queries whilst tapping buttons on her phone. One of those bottles, I answer,
pointing at one of the alcohol

The Most Hated Family in America Essay examples
The Most Hated Family In America The topic of homosexuality has been a very hot topic over the past
several decades. The term homosexuality can be defined as the sexual desire or behavior towards a
person or persons of one s own sex ( Homosexuality ). There are many people who either agree or
disagree with the aspect of homosexuality, and there are others who are indifferent. Many Christian
churches around the world, especially in the United States, have stated their opinion against
homosexuality. They based their beliefs in the verses in 1st Corinthians 6: 9 10, which says, Or do you

If one reads this manual, especially how the Baptists base their doctrine, one would see that the
Westboro Baptist Church is wrong in many aspects, to such extent that they should not be called
Baptists. The Westboro Baptist Church s main purpose is to promote hate; hate towards America,
towards the world, and towards anybody who lives in this world and accepts homosexuality, or fags as
they call them, into our society ( God Hates Fags ). They use picketing as a source to express their
opinion is a very hateful way, to the point that it makes any person passing by uncomfortable and even
express their anger towards them. In The Most Hated Family In America film, there are several
instances where one can see the Phelps family discouraging the population by yelling that they are all
going to hell, and that God hates this world for accepting the ways of the world. They don t care if the
person is Christian or not, according to them, the world has no salvation (Theroux). In page 62 of the
Baptist manual, it states that Baptist should believe in justification , because it includes that pardon of
sin (Hiscox). This is clear evidence that the Westboro church does not go by the manual of Baptists. The
most horrifying thing that these people do is to picket at soldier funerals. With a smile on their faces and
joy in their hearts, they stand in a corner shouting,

Ducker Lake s Water Quality
Abstract Water quality is sometimes ignored by lake management until it affects fish production and
aesthetic values and is significant to test the quality of lakes frequently, sometimes as many as multiple
times a day since the water in the lake could be used as a drinking source for both humans and animals.
Protecting the present quality of the lake is significant when it comes to avoiding future problems.
Duckers Lake s water quality was sampled in spring 2014. Variables that could measure the water
quality of lakes include: dissolved oxygen (DO) levels, temperature, pH, turbidity, and phosphate and
nitrates levels. Mean turbidity levels increased overall throughout the sampling dates, while pH seemed

Natural eutrophication is a very slow process that could take years, decades, and sometimes centuries.
The sediment build up in eutrophic lakes will make lakes very shallow. This increases vegetation due to
the increase in light exposure. Anthropogenic eutrophication is a faster process that could occur in days
and months. Anthropogenic eutrophication is due to fertilizer runoff from surrounding areas and could
convert oligotrophic lakes into eutrophic lakes. The difference between oligotrophic lakes and eutrophic
lakes is that oligotrophic lakes have very clear, blue water. Oligotrophic lakes are deep with low
sedimentation levels. Eutrophic lakes have murky, dirty looking water. They are very shallow with high
sedimentation levels. Plants dominate the shoreline because of the increase in light and vegetation

Because additional galvanizing units were expected to be put into operation, the demand for zinc was
expected to grow continuously. In 2006, domestic consumption and exports of lead acid batteries, the
main lead consuming industry, had increased by 20 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively over 2005
levels. On the supply side, capacity growth was constrained by a lack of high quality mines and limited
smelter capacity. SZLN forecasted that this growth trend in the demand for lead and zinc products
would continue and, thus, increased its annual capacity to 180,000 tons of lead zinc ore and 400,000
tons of metal products. This expansion was financed by issuing 60 million new shares from which
SZLN received proceeds of RMB700 million. Output of ore in 2007 was approximately 99,900 tons of
zinc and 45,500 tons of lead. Metal output was 181,500 tons of zinc metal products and 92,200 tons of
lead electrodes. Thus, the firm was required to purchase ore from both domestic and international
companies to feed its manufacturing operations. The prices of lead and zinc in 2007 fluctuated like a
roller coaster. In a review of the competitive situation in 2008, SZLN made the following key
observations: Page 3 9B10N007 According to the data, the total capacity of the top 10 domestic lead
zinc companies was less than 50 per cent of domestic total capacity, which indicated a fragmented
industry. In 2007, upstream companies expanded downstream, and some

Essay On Options Budgets
Emmons et al. utilizes options contracts on federal funds futures to derive probability forecasts
regarding Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) monetary policy decisions. In particular, they use
this information to assess how market expectations evolve over time surrounding five key events from
2003 2006. Additionally, they provide a general overview of the mathematics behind futures and options
contracts as well as pricing methodology. While researchers have found that federal funds futures
contracts provide useful information concerning market expectations (Carlson et al. 1995; Poole et al.

The standard Black Scholes model for call option and put option pricing, assuming risk neutrality and
proper discounting, is as follows: where t= the date when the option price is observed, T= the expiration
date of the option, X= the strike price of the option, F_T= the price of the underlying asset at time T, and
r= the risk free interest rate. Due to the ease at which the FOMC can intervene in the financial markets
to maintain a steady average federal funds rate throughout any month, the fact that the FOMC has
historically almost always moved rates at a 25 basis point interval, and that such policy changes are
almost exclusively conducted during specific meeting dates, they treat the value the federal funds
futures contract as a discrete random variable. Given N possible dates at which policy makers can alter
rates, the prices on call and put options can be re written as follows: where π_i= the probability that the
FOMC will select a target rate T_i which implies an average monthly rate of F_(T,i). One can now
imagine a list of actively traded calls and puts (say, for example, two calls and one put with differing
strike prices) and an FOMC deciding between three options (increase rates by 25 basis points, keep rates
unchanged, or decrease rates by 25 basis points). The price of these three derivatives contracts can be
expressed as a regression on a system of linear equations as such:
The dependent variables on the left hand side are the

Juxtaposition Of Adlerian Therapy And Cognitive Behavioral...
Juxtaposition of Adlerian Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT) is widely known and utilized in the psychological field; however, Adlerian therapy, also known
as individual psychology, is not universally known yet has roots that appear in CBT. In fact, Albert Ellis,
founder of CBT, has acknowledged that Alfred Adler, founder of individual psychology, was one of the
earliest therapists to emphasize the importance of understanding people s thoughts, their observations of
themselves, and their conscious experiences (Carlson, Maniacci, Watts, 2006). Therefore, a
juxtaposition of CBT and Adlerian Therapy is warranted in order to evaluate the similarities and
differences in conceptualization of client psychopathology, of their approach to treatment, and of how
these therapies stand in terms of empirical evidence.
Conceptualization of Client Psychopathology
Human Nature and Psychopathology in Individual Psychology Alfred Adler maintained that the first
four to five years in a child s life were crucial in developing the child s life style, which contains values
and guides to life, as well as the child s schema of apperception, which is how the child sees himself and
the external world. The life style has two main components: one, beliefs about what exists, which is
established through self concept and worldview, and two, beliefs about what should be, which is created
through the ideal self and ethical expectations (Carlson et al., 2006).

Research Paper On Palm Oil
Research: Palm oil should we use it? By Annabel Pezzutti. Issue Palm oil is one of the world s most
popular edible vegetable oil. Palm oil is used in most goods available at your local supermarket. This
particular oil is affordable but it comes at an immense cost to our environment. Palm oil has been
connected to many human rights, animal, and environmental violations yet organisations and companies
all over the world persist in using this particular oil in just about everything, in fact this popular oil is in
about half of all products on store shelves. Including products like soap, snacks, laundry detergent,
cosmetics, and even ice cream. Scientific explanation Palm oil is extracted from the fruit of the oil palm
tree, Elaeis guineensis, which prospers in fairly humid tropical climates. Most Palm oil production
occurs in just two countries, Malaysia and Indonesia, but now is spreading all over the tropics, including
Africa. To produce these plantations, deforestation has to occur and this process results in a loss of
biodiversity and a loss of habitat. The Human act of deforestation affects the water systems too, as
rainforests produce 30% of the planet s fresh water. When forestry is demolished water isn t expelled
into the atmosphere and the stability is lost. This leads to a drier climate and soil because there are no
trees to transpire to the ground. why we shouldn t use It Palm oil too is not sustainably sourced and until
there is verification that changes

Human Impact On The Carbon, Phosphorus, And Nitrogen Cycles
Human Impact on the Carbon, Phosphorus, and Nitrogen Cycles
Introduction
Except for small amount of cosmic debris that enters the Earth s atmosphere, the Earth is a closed
system for matter. All the elements needed for the structure and chemical processes of life come from
the elements that were present in the Earth s crust when it was formed billions of years ago. This matter
is continually cycling the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere, from periods of a few
days to millions of years. These cycles are called biogeochemical cycles, because they include a variety
of biological, geological, and chemical processes (Biogeochemical Cycles, 2008). This paper will look
at the impact humans have had on the carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycles.
Discussion
Carbon Cycle
The carbon cycle has been significantly altered by extracting and combusting billions of tons of
hydrocarbons in fossils that were buried deep in the Earth s crust. In addition, clearing vegetation that
stores carbon has also impacted the carbon cycle. Global release of carbon through human activities has
increased from 1 billion tons per year in 1940 to 6.5 billion tons per year in 2000. About half of this
extra carbon is taken up by plants and the oceans, while the other half remains in the atmosphere.
Nitrogen Cycle
The major human activities that today influence the global nitrogen cycle are fossil fuel combustion, the
production and use of chemical fertilizer, and the growing of

On Being An Atheist Mccloskey Summary
H. J. McCloskey, in his article On Being an Atheist is explaining why he believes that atheism is more
acceptable than theism. He starts by letting other atheists know that he plans to explain why theists place
their beliefs in the existence of God, why theists arguments fall short of proof, why atheists take the
stance that God does not exist, and the view that theists have of atheism being a sad, unfriendly view.
McCloskey begins his explanation of these beliefs and views by arguing against three proofs or
arguments that drive theists belief in God as a necessary being. The three proofs he is arguing against
are the cosmological argument, the teleological argument, and the argument from design. He feels that
these proofs, as he calls them, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He feels that theists should be sad and dismal just for following their beliefs. He elaborates on this by
sharing that someone who is suffering physically or emotional or someone watching a friend or loved
one suffer would find more peace in the knowledge that God does not exist. He states that atheists
would look for compassion from fellow atheists and friends. McCloskey goes on to state that atheists
would not tell someone to look for compassion from a God that allowed the agony to happen in the first
place. He also shares that in light of there not being a God that people should do all they can to decrease
the issues that would cause someone to need compassion. McCloskey says that fellow atheists would
step up to help others in need and would work to eliminate the problems that arise to cause pain and
suffering. In response to this, we look at William Lane Craig claims in The Absurdity of Life without
God that you cannot live happily and consistently in the atheistic view. There are three places where we
find inconsistency. First, atheists believe there is no meaning to life without God but try to create
meaning and therefore contradicts their view. Second, values of life become inconsistent in the atheistic
view because you can t live without ethics of human love and brotherhood. Without God, there is no
right and wrong. Third, there is no purpose to life and

War Against Terror and Human Rights Essay

The Human Rights Act 1998 took full legal effect across the English and Welsh legal systems on

A victim includes anyone directly affected by the actions or non actions of one of the above public
authorities. Whilst this directly affected principle is absolute, a victim can also include someone not
necessarily directly affected by the actions of a public body, but indirectly affected. For instance, a
person who is likely to be put under surveillance by the police will be able to call upon the Human
Rights Act, even though they have not yet had their privacy interfered with.
Where it is established that a Convention Right has been violated, the victim may be able to gain an
injunction to stop the violation, force the public authority to take action, take judicial review
proceedings or obtain damages and compensation.
The Human Rights Act affects the different types of legislation in a number of ways. Primary
legislation, which is Parliamentary Statute, the most sacred type of English law, has to be bought into
accordance with the Convention Rights. If primary legislation does not comply with the Convention
Rights then a Declaration of Incompatibility is issued. This can only be given by the higher courts and
allows the offending legislation to be changed and put inline with the Convention Rights easily and
quickly. If a statement is not issued, then the case proceeds to the European Court of Human Rights.

Propaganda And Atrocity Propaganda
World War One marked a watershed in the modern development of propaganda. Propaganda assumed an
ever increasing role in shaping mass opinion, a role that has had a lasting influence on the course of
twentieth century politics. Propaganda is potentially an immensely revealing source for examining the
state society relationship, for it is, in essence, a set of messages from the state to the society. It is based
upon and seeks to modify certain assumptions about popular behaviour. It was not until Germany
invaded Belgium, that atrocity propaganda emerged as a major force. Atrocity propaganda focused on
the most violent acts committed by the German and Austro Hungarian armies, emphasising their
barbarity and providing justification for the conflict. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the Germans were looked upon as a country that could only be described as a corrupt invader
in the war from the start. The German army engaged in several atrocities against the Belgium population
during the course of the war. These atrocities were seen as an organised terror, an attack to intimidate the
civilian population, to terrorise the inhabitants of recently occupied areas, to intimidate the politicians
and most importantly, to intimidate the Belgian army. The period after 5 August 1914 and the months to
follow were fierce, and the dynamic of violence was enduring. There were multiple cases of civilians
being used as leverage to induce compliance or to stymie resistance often as human shields marched in
front of German units, or as hostages to ensure good behaviour. At Liège, several influential citizens
were taken hostage and threatened with death if the German troops, charged with taking nearby forts,
came under attack. Civilians were executed en masse, as the invasion force advanced on its first
obstacle, the ring of forts around Liège . This was a terrifying time for Belgians, as the Germany army
was ten times the size of theirs. The anxiety was also apparent in proclamations issued throughout
Belgian towns. One notice, issued at Hasselt on 17 August 1914 by the Burgomaster, warned the
villagers in no uncertain terms to abstain from ... all acts of hostility which might bring

Similarities Between Confucianism And Buddhism
There are a number of similarities between the eastern religions and philosophies of Confucianism,
Buddhism and Hinduism. While Hinduism is centered around a supreme being, Buddhism and
Confucianism are centered around the teachings of a man. Each encourages moral behavior, ethical
values, such as non violence, charity, and a respect for the universe. To better understand the
philosophical similarities and differences between Confucianism, Buddhism and Hinduism, it is
important first to consider the teachings of Buddha, Patanjali and Confucius in their historical context.
Buddhism is a tradition that evolved from the original teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha or
Enlightened One. Buddha was born a Hindu in about 563 B.C.E. He was of aristocratic birth and grew
up in relative luxury and the security of the ruling class of that period. At age twenty nine, he tired of his
comfortable existence and renounced the world and went in search of wisdom. Tradition states that he
attained enlightenment on a full moon day in May under a fig tree. According to Buddha s teachings, the
purpose of life is to end suffering and develop compassion for all living things without discrimination.
He taught that meditation must be used to move beyond selfish concerns and desires. Only by quieting
the mind can people connect with the power of the larger universe and reach a state of enlightenment
and peace. Buddha s teaching, or dharma, begins with the Four Noble Truths. He disclosed

this paper s focus in on the Risk Assessment of the management solutions identified last week, it will
only focus on the first two steps of RM, Identify the hazard and Assess the hazard.
Hazards exist in all environments, are present in all activities, and a hazard, as it relates to our
assessment of the Special Activities Command (SAC), creates a condition that has the potential for
mission degradation (ATP 5 19, 2014, p. 1 4). After the hazards have are identified, Step two in the RM
processes involves assigning a level of risk to these hazards by estimating probability and severity of
loss linked to risk (DA Pam 385 30, 2014, p. 6). Probability is the likelihood of a hazard scenario
occurring and severity is the approximation of harm given the scenario occurring (DA Pam 385 30,
2014, p. 6). Although probability and severity are both considered in assessing hazards they are
independent of one another or in other words, when estimating probability, it has no direct relationship

Mother Teresa Essay examples
Mother Teresa was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje, Macedonia, on August 27, 1910. Her
family was of Albanian descent. At the age of twelve, she felt strongly the call of God. She knew she
had to be a missionary to spread the love of Christ. At the age of eighteen she left her parental home in
Skopje and joined the Sisters of Loreto, an Irish community of nuns with missions in India. After a few
months training in Dublin she was sent to India, where on May 24, 1931, she took her initial vows as a
nun. From 1931 to 1948 Mother Teresa taught at St. Mary s High School in Calcutta, but the suffering
and poverty she glimpsed outside the convent walls made such a deep impression on her that in 1948
she received permission from her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

America, Europe and Australia, where they take care of the shut ins, alcoholics, homeless, and AIDS
sufferers.
The Missionaries of Charity throughout the world are aided and assisted by Co Workers who became an
official International Association on March 29, 1969. By the 1990s there were over one million Co
Workers in more than 40 countries. Along with the Co Workers, the lay Missionaries of Charity try to
follow Mother Teresa s spirit and charism in their families.
Mother Teresa s work has been recognised and acclaimed throughout the world and she has received a
number of awards and distinctions, including the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize (1971) and the Nehru

ABSTRACT
Our society is constantly changing and these changes have an impact not only on our buying habits and

Human Cells And The Human Body
Kidneys are one of the most essential organs in a human body which are crucial for blood filtration,
toxins, and waste removal and maintaining and regulating the body s pH. The researchers created kidney
structures from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) called organoids which have the function and
structural organization of a human fetal kidney in the first trimester. This study used the results of a
previous study where human embryonic stem cells were differentiated towards a renal lineage. As a
result, the progenitors for both collecting ducts and nephrons were generated from iPS. In that study, the
researchers found out that although both nephrons and collecting ducts originate from the intermediate
mesoderm layer, they develop at a different specific time and area from the mesoderm layer. The
intermediate mesoderm layer is a germ layer arising from the mesoderm, and it is important in the
development of kidneys, reproductive system, and lower urinary tract of the embryo. Thus, the scientists
exploited this temporospatial origin difference, and they identified the regulating mechanism behind
what caused the induction of collecting duct versus other kidney progenitors like the nephrons for
instance. As a result of this finding, kidney organoids were formed which were segmented into distal
and proximal tubules, loops of Henle, glomeruli, and podocytes which establish a vascularization
network. This study is important in near future because it can be used as a model for

Hypocrisy In Voltaire s Candide
Candide, with his innocent optimism, taught the reader that there isn t always a silver lining; Irene
Redfield proved that one s judgement and actions don t always go hand in hand; Bob Hicok illustrated
that, despite all of one s observations, hope can still be found. These lessons were brought to us, for the
most part, through observations which these narrators had seen and experienced. The lessons found in
these texts also show the hypocrisy which these characters have, despite their observations and
experiences, still permeates their beliefs and morals. To begin, it would be best to know what
observation entails: the term observation means the action or process of observing something or
someone carefully or in order to gain information or, in fewer words, gaining knowledge through
watching the world around us. The use of such vivid imagery and observation has long been a powerful
weapon in the arsenal of great writers, like Stephen King and J.K. Rowling, and has brought about
multiple lessons and teachings for people throughout the ages. The narrator s observations in Voltaire s
Candide, or Optimism , Larson s Passing and Hicok s Go Greyhound allows them to realize their own
hypocrisy and disconnect between their actions/experiences and beliefs.
Voltaire s use of imagery and satire in Candide, or Optimism allows the reader to contemplate how
Candide has such an optimistic attitude in the face of the trials and tribulations which he and his friends
endured.

Man on Wire Essay examples

Philippe Petit: Sane Wire Walker What do you think when you imagine a man walking on a wire higher
than 10 stories high? A French wire walker named Philippe Petit walked over many structures from
Notre Dame to Sydney, Australia, to New York. Through the things he has done, people may think he is
crazy. However, Petit and I think that there is nothing crazy about what he has done. I believe the
people/society thinks he is crazy. They see this man up hundreds of feet walking across a wire over
famous architectures. Notre Dame, he walked over the cathedral between the two bell towers. Sydney,
Australia, he walked the wire across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and slowed traffic as people watched
the magnificent show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You don t learn things like this over night, it hard work and dedication. The people even had him
evaluated to see if he was a lunatic, but simply found that all his agnostics proved he was sane. Like
Steve Irwin, do you think he is crazy? Steve Irwin wrestles alligators, crocodiles, snakes, and other wild
animals. He prepared for his kind of work, schooling, learning how to read animals, what they tend to
do when aggravated. Yes, he went after dangerous animals but he knew what he was doing, just like
Petit. It was a dangerous thing to be doing, but he was prepared to do so. So no, Philippe Petit isn t
crazy, just well managed, well trained, and well prepared for what he has done. Petit passed an
evaluation to test if there was something wrong with him. Also, because what he does is dangerous
doesn t mean he isn t right in the head. Just look at Steve Irwin and think twice before judging. He
brought entertainment to the people, inspiration that anything is possible. Petit is just another human
being that chased a dream, and accomplished his goal.

Personal Narrative-When Calls The Heart
This season on When Calls the Heart has been a fantastic time of growth in the community, and many of
the featured new faces have been the children of Hope Valley. Yet again, Hearties were introduced to a
character named Robert who didn t get along with Cody in the beginning, but Miss Thatcher never gave
up on him. With his signature curly hair and spot on facial expressions, we have not been able to
overlook this character nor the boy who has infused him with life, Jaiven Natt. Recently, I had the
opportunity to chat with this 11 year old who has become a delightful part of this weekly Hallmark
escape.
What inspired you to become an actor at your age?
I always thought actors had such fun on TV, and it was something I really wanted to do. We happened to
hear about an acting camp, and my mom asked if I wanted to go. Of course I did, and we had to go to
LA for the camp. My mom had a GPS to get us there, but we got lost. We stopped off at a store, and my
mom wasn t sure we should keep going. I said I really wanted to go, and I begged her to keep going.
And then we found the camp, and I had such a great time. My coach at the camp was a real
$$#Break#$$ But after talking with this young man (who honestly has a delectable sense of humor and
is quite grounded, thanks to his tremendous parents), there is no doubt in my mind that he is on the right
course, and he is just the sort of person who will resonate with fans now and in the years to come. I
would say to watch out for this young man as he is on a path that will ultimately bring him (and us)
great joy and fulfillment. Be sure to follow him every step of this magnificent journey as you watch him
on When Calls the Heart every Sunday on the Hallmark channel, and follow him on twitter

Summary Of The Black Power Mixtape
The Black Power Mixtape follows significant events during the 1965 and between 1975 it is directed by
to Swedish directors which is very important in the layout of the film it involves that took place during
the Civil Rights Movement included leaders such as Stokely Carmichael Angela Davis, Malcolm X, and
Medgar Evers. This was also at the time of the Vietnam War the Nixon Administration, and the Lyndon
Johnson Administration. It includes world renowned artist such as Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, and
historians. Including the author of our classes textbook, Robin Kelley the film opinionated it is unbiased
fact based. This is a pivotal time in American history from through the eyes foreigners this is my first
encounter with a form perspective of the United States during the Civil Rights Movement. Coming up in
school no one ever exposed me to any other perspective the American perspective in this part of
American history. There s no way possible they could compile events of ten years into two hours, but
they did include information that I have never read before. The Black Panther movement was followed
the most. The era of black power highlighted black nationalism, black arts, the economic structure of
African American, and social disparities in American Society. Also, the fight for equality such as voting
rights for African Americans protests against segregation. The era of black power also highlights

Clues to the True Meaning of “Sestina” by Elizabeth Bishop
A sestina is a fixed form of six stanzas that end with an envoi, an address to an imagined or real subject.
This particular form of Sestina by Elizabeth Bishop takes you through one particular afternoon of a
grandmother and her grandchild. Though the poem itself is ambiguous, Bishop foreshadows the
grandmother s demise throughout the entirety of the poem. The five words almanac, grandmother, tears,
stove, and house are used at the end of each line for the six stanzas and envoi. They are clues as to
figuring out the meaning of the poem. However, they are not the only clues as symbolism is the main
usage of figurative language. The speaker is assumed to be Elizabeth Bishop but even she has written
the poem in a way that reflects that of an outside observer to obscure the poem even further. To start off
the analysis, the setting of the entire poem is significant. Though the poem takes place in a house, the
atmosphere the house is set in is also important. The month is September which is a month of fall which
can be seen as a symbol for decline. It definitely insinuates that the poem is leading towards death. Line
1 has September rain falls on the house which gives the feeling of a dark and cold night with a storm on
top of that. To further develop that, Bishop gives us the failing light in line 2 to also give us an idea of
the grandmother s struggle. Bishop uses the cyclical theme of changing seasons to show the unending
nature of what is transpiring within the

  • 8. Literary Analysis Of Ross Capicchioni By Joyner Lucas The song Ross Capicchioni by Joyner Lucas can be a prime example of a literary piece because of its plot, multi perspectives, and tone throughout the song. Manipulating words so that it could fit into different rhyming schemes to set a specific tone has added a dramatic and poetic effect on literary writings. A good plot is one of, if not the most critical part of a literary piece because it keeps a reader, viewer or listener interested in the piece. Lastly, the multi perspectives of the piece makes it literary because of the ability to imagine and bring to life both points of views are rare in writings, songs and poems. Ross Capicchioni is based on a true story, which is about a 10th grade transfer student (Ross Capicchioni) that is greeted and welcomed by another student at his high school. While Ross was enjoying his time at school and building his friendship with one of his peers, the so called friend was plotting to kill Ross but could not find a good time to do it. The song finally gets to a point where Ross is offered a car by his uncle and is asked by his friend to be dropped off on a side of town that is known to be gang affiliated. Regardless of the countless signs Ross notice s, he refuses to follow his gut but he continues to help his friend . When they arrived at the destination Ross is stripped out of the car and is shot with a shot gun 3 times (chest, head, and arm). Once he realizes that he has been shot and tries to fight through the pain, the writer switches perspective from the victim to the perpetrator. When the Joyner starts to rap, he first sets the tone of the song. Woke up at 7, my day seemed more than I prayed for, Got dressed to head out and ride to school on my skateboard while the line seems to be very basic to others, Joyner tells the listener this to give a sense of innocents to the character throughout the story. Right after Joyner shows innocents of the high school kid, he follows the two lines with New kid in class I sat alone takin notes while the hoodlums were makin jokes at the clothes that my momma paid for . • 9. How Did North American Civilization Affect The Social... Prior to European colonization, North America was home to many Native American Tribes. These tribes spoke many different languages, had diverse social customs, and had different resources available to them depending upon location. Two prominent native groups were the Pueblo People of the Southwest, and the Tribes of the Mississippi River Valley. While these groups had some prominent similarities, there were, in fact, many differences between them. The Pueblo People of the Southwest inhabited thriving settlements in what are now Arizona, and New Mexico. Pueblo People had very interesting living situations. They lived in multistoried buildings, which they shared with several other families. These homes were built in place of the Anasazi settlements that had existed several years before. The Pueblo thrived as far as agriculture was concerned. The warm climate made for reliable food sources which kept them strong. This was likely helpful in their revolt against the Spanish, as well as in future encounters with the Europeans. The tribes of the Mississippi River Valley struggled with agriculture. The Little Ice Age, which took place from 1350 to 1800, had a detrimental effect on the climate, and made it difficult to successfully grow crops. Everyone wants to be remembered for something one way or another, and in Sonnet 55 Shakespeare alludes to this. The theme of immortality is evident throughout the entire sonnet, and Shakespeare does not stray away from it at all. Shakespeare s tone in the first quatrain of this sonnet comes off as a bit arrogant, but it is necessary to get his point across. When wasteful war shall statues overturn (5) is an example of alliteration used to help the beginning of this quatrain flow smoothly. Shakespeare uses personification to drive home the fact that death and fire cannot destroy ones living memory (8) that resides in the lines of his sonnet: Nor Mars his sword nor war s quick fire shall burn/the living record of your memory (7 8). Shakespeare deviates from decay and destruction in the third quatrain to bring the theme of immortality back to the forefront. His tone begins to sound more uplifting when talking about going against death: Gainst death and all oblivious enmity/Shall you pace forth; your praise shall still find room (9 10). In saying this, Shakespeare wants the readers to know that death is not concerned with who is going against it, so if this sonnet marches forward though history the prince will always be praised. After the evaluation is done we come to know whether the solution which we have implemented is optimal or not. Our current problem that is addressed in this project is regarding overheating and explosion of SAMSUNG smartphones. These are urbanization, working conditions and laissez faire government. Urbanization created cities who offered large numbers of workers for new factories. In turn, more factories were built. Workers, both native born and immigrants, moved to cities looking for jobs. Industrialism and post industrialism let to a decline in patriarchy within the family because of the changes that were made to society. The birth of the Industrial Revolution had one staggering advantage, even to the most distanced and skeptical farmer: a living could be made that was not subject to climate changes. Therefore, a man could actually be assured of regular, dependable wages. This did not, however, translate into a vast emigration of farmers to the new cities. An economy based upon agriculture is altogether distinct from an industrial one. The former is dependent upon the unpredictable elements of nature and the weather, the consequences of which could lead to ruin and famine. Indispensable to this growth and development were an unprecedented surge in immigration and urbanization after the Civil War. American society was in transition. Sexual Swellings And Reproduction Of Female Baboon Sexual Swellings/Reproduction The female baboon has a menstrual cycle just like human females have (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). While the human menstrual cycle lasts for 5 7 days, the baboon s menstrual cycle will last up to 35 days (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). When estrus approaches, the female baboon will develop large swellings on or near the vulva, perineum, and anus (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). These swellings attract males, and plenty of baboon males will compete for that female (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). This competition can become very violent, and whoever wins the competition, reproduction will begin between him and that female (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). The most dominant male will mate with most estrous females (Alberts et al., 2015; Altmann et al., 2015; Fitzpatrick, 2015). • 24. Her Breaking Point You must be Brooklyn, the middle aged lady, behind the counter, beams. Her warm greeting seemed to calm my growing nerves. She leans over the counter abruptly, wrapping her strong arms around my body. The nerves were back. As soon as she pulls away my eyes scan the small shop, searching for any possible audience. Luckily the only other person inside was oblivious to the situation. The stranger instantly grasps my attention; his lean body was nearly pressed against the shelf, and his head darts to the left and then to the right, before returning to its previous position. Under closer observation I notice how his arm reaches out and the way his fingers wrap around a bottle of alcohol I presume and how he quickly stuffed the bottle into his coat, letting the black material envelope it... That guys stealing, I spoke in a hushed tone, and my body shook with fear. What was that dear? The lady asks. That guy is stealing, the lady spun towards the guy. Put that back, she yells, her demand was followed by the guy breaking into a sprint and exiting through the door. The lady s hand digs into her pocket and pulls out a mobile phone. Shouldn t we go after him? I don t know why I asked that, it s not as if I was going to go after him. That s dangerous. No, I ll just call the owner, so he knows that someone has stolen something. The term homosexuality can be defined as the sexual desire or behavior towards a person or persons of one s own sex ( Homosexuality ). There are many people who either agree or disagree with the aspect of homosexuality, and there are others who are indifferent. Many Christian churches around the world, especially in the United States, have stated their opinion against homosexuality. They based their beliefs in the verses in 1st Corinthians 6: 9 10, which says, Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? If one reads this manual, especially how the Baptists base their doctrine, one would see that the Westboro Baptist Church is wrong in many aspects, to such extent that they should not be called Baptists. The Westboro Baptist Church s main purpose is to promote hate; hate towards America, towards the world, and towards anybody who lives in this world and accepts homosexuality, or fags as they call them, into our society ( God Hates Fags ). They use picketing as a source to express their opinion is a very hateful way, to the point that it makes any person passing by uncomfortable and even express their anger towards them. In The Most Hated Family In America film, there are several instances where one can see the Phelps family discouraging the population by yelling that they are all going to hell, and that God hates this world for accepting the ways of the world. They don t care if the person is Christian or not, according to them, the world has no salvation (Theroux). In page 62 of the Baptist manual, it states that Baptist should believe in justification , because it includes that pardon of sin (Hiscox). Ducker Lake s Water Quality Abstract Water quality is sometimes ignored by lake management until it affects fish production and aesthetic values and is significant to test the quality of lakes frequently, sometimes as many as multiple times a day since the water in the lake could be used as a drinking source for both humans and animals. Protecting the present quality of the lake is significant when it comes to avoiding future problems. Duckers Lake s water quality was sampled in spring 2014. Natural eutrophication is a very slow process that could take years, decades, and sometimes centuries. The sediment build up in eutrophic lakes will make lakes very shallow. Anthropogenic eutrophication is due to fertilizer runoff from surrounding areas and could convert oligotrophic lakes into eutrophic lakes. The difference between oligotrophic lakes and eutrophic lakes is that oligotrophic lakes have very clear, blue water. Oligotrophic lakes are deep with low sedimentation levels. Because additional galvanizing units were expected to be put into operation, the demand for zinc was expected to grow continuously. In 2006, domestic consumption and exports of lead acid batteries, the main lead consuming industry, had increased by 20 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively over 2005 levels. On the supply side, capacity growth was constrained by a lack of high quality mines and limited smelter capacity. SZLN forecasted that this growth trend in the demand for lead and zinc products would continue and, thus, increased its annual capacity to 180,000 tons of lead zinc ore and 400,000 tons of metal products. This expansion was financed by issuing 60 million new shares from which SZLN received proceeds of RMB700 million. Output of ore in 2007 was approximately 99,900 tons of zinc and 45,500 tons of lead. Metal output was 181,500 tons of zinc metal products and 92,200 tons of lead electrodes. Thus, the firm was required to purchase ore from both domestic and international companies to feed its manufacturing operations. The prices of lead and zinc in 2007 fluctuated like a roller coaster. In a review of the competitive situation in 2008, SZLN made the following key observations: Page 3 9B10N007 According to the data, the total capacity of the top 10 domestic lead zinc companies was less than 50 per cent of domestic total capacity, which indicated a fragmented industry. Essay On Options Budgets Emmons et al. utilizes options contracts on federal funds futures to derive probability forecasts regarding Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) monetary policy decisions. In particular, they use this information to assess how market expectations evolve over time surrounding five key events from 2003 2006. Additionally, they provide a general overview of the mathematics behind futures and options contracts as well as pricing methodology. While researchers have found that federal funds futures contracts provide useful information concerning market expectations (Carlson et al. 1995; Poole et al. 2002; Sack, 2004; and Piazzesi and Swanson, 2005), options based forecasts are more useful when more than two federal funds target rates are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The standard Black Scholes model for call option and put option pricing, assuming risk neutrality and proper discounting, is as follows: where t= the date when the option price is observed, T= the expiration date of the option, X= the strike price of the option, F_T= the price of the underlying asset at time T, and r= the risk free interest rate. Due to the ease at which the FOMC can intervene in the financial markets to maintain a steady average federal funds rate throughout any month, the fact that the FOMC has historically almost always moved rates at a 25 basis point interval, and that such policy changes are almost exclusively conducted during specific meeting dates, they treat the value the federal funds futures contract as a discrete random variable. Given N possible dates at which policy makers can alter rates, the prices on call and put options can be re written as follows: where π_i= the probability that the FOMC will select a target rate T_i which implies an average monthly rate of F_(T,i). One can now imagine a list of actively traded calls and puts (say, for example, two calls and one put with differing strike prices) and an FOMC deciding between three options (increase rates by 25 basis points, keep rates unchanged, or decrease rates by 25 basis points). Juxtaposition of Adlerian Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is widely known and utilized in the psychological field; however, Adlerian therapy, also known as individual psychology, is not universally known yet has roots that appear in CBT. In fact, Albert Ellis, founder of CBT, has acknowledged that Alfred Adler, founder of individual psychology, was one of the earliest therapists to emphasize the importance of understanding people s thoughts, their observations of themselves, and their conscious experiences (Carlson, Maniacci, Watts, 2006). Therefore, a juxtaposition of CBT and Adlerian Therapy is warranted in order to evaluate the similarities and differences in conceptualization of client psychopathology, of their approach to treatment, and of how these therapies stand in terms of empirical evidence. Conceptualization of Client Psychopathology Human Nature and Psychopathology in Individual Psychology Alfred Adler maintained that the first four to five years in a child s life were crucial in developing the child s life style, which contains values and guides to life, as well as the child s schema of apperception, which is how the child sees himself and the external world. The life style has two main components: one, beliefs about what exists, which is established through self concept and worldview, and two, beliefs about what should be, which is created through the ideal self and ethical expectations (Carlson et al., 2006). ... Palm oil is used in most goods available at your local supermarket. This particular oil is affordable but it comes at an immense cost to our environment. Palm oil has been connected to many human rights, animal, and environmental violations yet organisations and companies all over the world persist in using this particular oil in just about everything, in fact this popular oil is in about half of all products on store shelves. Including products like soap, snacks, laundry detergent, cosmetics, and even ice cream. Scientific explanation Palm oil is extracted from the fruit of the oil palm tree, Elaeis guineensis, which prospers in fairly humid tropical climates. Most Palm oil production occurs in just two countries, Malaysia and Indonesia, but now is spreading all over the tropics, including Africa. To produce these plantations, deforestation has to occur and this process results in a loss of biodiversity and a loss of habitat. The Human act of deforestation affects the water systems too, as rainforests produce 30% of the planet s fresh water. When forestry is demolished water isn t expelled into the atmosphere and the stability is lost. This leads to a drier climate and soil because there are no trees to transpire to the ground. why we shouldn t use It Palm oil too is not sustainably sourced and until there is verification that changes ... • 32. Human Impact On The Carbon, Phosphorus, And Nitrogen Cycles Human Impact on the Carbon, Phosphorus, and Nitrogen Cycles Introduction Except for small amount of cosmic debris that enters the Earth s atmosphere, the Earth is a closed system for matter. All the elements needed for the structure and chemical processes of life come from the elements that were present in the Earth s crust when it was formed billions of years ago. This matter is continually cycling the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere, from periods of a few days to millions of years. These cycles are called biogeochemical cycles, because they include a variety of biological, geological, and chemical processes (Biogeochemical Cycles, 2008). This paper will look at the impact humans have had on the carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycles. Discussion Carbon Cycle The carbon cycle has been significantly altered by extracting and combusting billions of tons of hydrocarbons in fossils that were buried deep in the Earth s crust. In addition, clearing vegetation that stores carbon has also impacted the carbon cycle. Global release of carbon through human activities has increased from 1 billion tons per year in 1940 to 6.5 billion tons per year in 2000. About half of this extra carbon is taken up by plants and the oceans, while the other half remains in the atmosphere. Nitrogen Cycle The major human activities that today influence the global nitrogen cycle are fossil fuel combustion, the production and use of chemical fertilizer, and the growing of ... He starts by letting other atheists know that he plans to explain why theists place their beliefs in the existence of God, why theists arguments fall short of proof, why atheists take the stance that God does not exist, and the view that theists have of atheism being a sad, unfriendly view. McCloskey begins his explanation of these beliefs and views by arguing against three proofs or arguments that drive theists belief in God as a necessary being. The three proofs he is arguing against are the cosmological argument, the teleological argument, and the argument from design. He feels that these proofs, as he calls them, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He feels that theists should be sad and dismal just for following their beliefs. He elaborates on this by sharing that someone who is suffering physically or emotional or someone watching a friend or loved one suffer would find more peace in the knowledge that God does not exist. He states that atheists would look for compassion from fellow atheists and friends. McCloskey goes on to state that atheists would not tell someone to look for compassion from a God that allowed the agony to happen in the first place. He also shares that in light of there not being a God that people should do all they can to decrease the issues that would cause someone to need compassion. McCloskey says that fellow atheists would step up to help others in need and would work to eliminate the problems that arise to cause pain and suffering. In response to this, we look at William Lane Craig claims in The Absurdity of Life without God that you cannot live happily and consistently in the atheistic view. There are three places where we find inconsistency. First, atheists believe there is no meaning to life without God but try to create meaning and therefore contradicts their view. Second, values of life become inconsistent in the atheistic view because you can t live without ethics of human love and brotherhood. Without God, there is no right and wrong. It is based upon and seeks to modify certain assumptions about popular behaviour. It was not until Germany invaded Belgium, that atrocity propaganda emerged as a major force. The German army engaged in several atrocities against the Belgium population during the course of the war. These atrocities were seen as an organised terror, an attack to intimidate the civilian population, to terrorise the inhabitants of recently occupied areas, to intimidate the politicians and most importantly, to intimidate the Belgian army. The period after 5 August 1914 and the months to follow were fierce, and the dynamic of violence was enduring. There were multiple cases of civilians being used as leverage to induce compliance or to stymie resistance often as human shields marched in front of German units, or as hostages to ensure good behaviour. At Liège, several influential citizens were taken hostage and threatened with death if the German troops, charged with taking nearby forts, came under attack. Civilians were executed en masse, as the invasion force advanced on its first obstacle, the ring of forts around Liège . While Hinduism is centered around a supreme being, Buddhism and Confucianism are centered around the teachings of a man. Each encourages moral behavior, ethical values, such as non violence, charity, and a respect for the universe. To better understand the philosophical similarities and differences between Confucianism, Buddhism and Hinduism, it is important first to consider the teachings of Buddha, Patanjali and Confucius in their historical context. Buddhism is a tradition that evolved from the original teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha or Enlightened One. Buddha was born a Hindu in about 563 B.C.E. He was of aristocratic birth and grew up in relative luxury and the security of the ruling class of that period. At age twenty nine, he tired of his comfortable existence and renounced the world and went in search of wisdom. Tradition states that he attained enlightenment on a full moon day in May under a fig tree. According to Buddha s teachings, the purpose of life is to end suffering and develop compassion for all living things without discrimination. He taught that meditation must be used to move beyond selfish concerns and desires. Risk Assessment At The United States Army Risk Assessment Before Risk Assessment can be addressed we must first briefly discuss Risk Management (RM), the framework of which is where risk assessment resides for the United States Army. The Army uses RM to ensure mission accomplishment in current as well as future operations and applies to operations and non operational activities (Department of the Army [ATP 5 19], 2014, p. 1 1). The Army process of RM utilizes five steps as part of its holistic approach to mitigate risks, but because this paper s focus in on the Risk Assessment of the management solutions identified last week, it will only focus on the first two steps of RM, Identify the hazard and Assess the hazard. Hazards exist in all environments, are present in all activities, and a hazard, as it relates to our assessment of the Special Activities Command (SAC), creates a condition that has the potential for mission degradation (ATP 5 19, 2014, p. 1 4). After the hazards have are identified, Step two in the RM processes involves assigning a level of risk to these hazards by estimating probability and severity of loss linked to risk (DA Pam 385 30, 2014, p. 6). Probability is the likelihood of a hazard scenario occurring and severity is the approximation of harm given the scenario occurring (DA Pam 385 30, 2014, p. 6). • 42. Human Cells And The Human Body Kidneys are one of the most essential organs in a human body which are crucial for blood filtration, toxins, and waste removal and maintaining and regulating the body s pH. The researchers created kidney structures from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) called organoids which have the function and structural organization of a human fetal kidney in the first trimester. This study used the results of a previous study where human embryonic stem cells were differentiated towards a renal lineage. As a result, the progenitors for both collecting ducts and nephrons were generated from iPS. In that study, the researchers found out that although both nephrons and collecting ducts originate from the intermediate mesoderm layer, they develop at a different specific time and area from the mesoderm layer. The intermediate mesoderm layer is a germ layer arising from the mesoderm, and it is important in the development of kidneys, reproductive system, and lower urinary tract of the embryo. Thus, the scientists exploited this temporospatial origin difference, and they identified the regulating mechanism behind what caused the induction of collecting duct versus other kidney progenitors like the nephrons for instance. As a result of this finding, kidney organoids were formed which were segmented into distal and proximal tubules, loops of Henle, glomeruli, and podocytes which establish a vascularization network. This study is important in near future because it can be used as a model for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Hypocrisy In Voltaire s Candide Candide, with his innocent optimism, taught the reader that there isn t always a silver lining; Irene Redfield proved that one s judgement and actions don t always go hand in hand; Bob Hicok illustrated that, despite all of one s observations, hope can still be found. These lessons were brought to us, for the most part, through observations which these narrators had seen and experienced. The lessons found in these texts also show the hypocrisy which these characters have, despite their observations and experiences, still permeates their beliefs and morals. To begin, it would be best to know what observation entails: the term observation means the action or process of observing something or someone carefully or in order to gain information or, in fewer words, gaining knowledge through watching the world around us. The use of such vivid imagery and observation has long been a powerful weapon in the arsenal of great writers, like Stephen King and J.K. Rowling, and has brought about multiple lessons and teachings for people throughout the ages. The narrator s observations in Voltaire s Candide, or Optimism , Larson s Passing and Hicok s Go Greyhound allows them to realize their own hypocrisy and disconnect between their actions/experiences and beliefs. Voltaire s use of imagery and satire in Candide, or Optimism allows the reader to contemplate how Candide has such an optimistic attitude in the face of the trials and tribulations which he and his friends endured. ... • 44. Man on Wire Essay examples September 11, 2012 Philippe Petit: Sane Wire Walker What do you think when you imagine a man walking on a wire higher than 10 stories high? A French wire walker named Philippe Petit walked over many structures from Notre Dame to Sydney, Australia, to New York. Through the things he has done, people may think he is crazy. However, Petit and I think that there is nothing crazy about what he has done. I believe the people/society thinks he is crazy. They see this man up hundreds of feet walking across a wire over famous architectures. Notre Dame, he walked over the cathedral between the two bell towers. You don t learn things like this over night, it hard work and dedication. The people even had him evaluated to see if he was a lunatic, but simply found that all his agnostics proved he was sane. Like Steve Irwin, do you think he is crazy? Steve Irwin wrestles alligators, crocodiles, snakes, and other wild animals. He prepared for his kind of work, schooling, learning how to read animals, what they tend to do when aggravated. Yes, he went after dangerous animals but he knew what he was doing, just like Petit. It was a dangerous thing to be doing, but he was prepared to do so. So no, Philippe Petit isn t crazy, just well managed, well trained, and well prepared for what he has done. Petit passed an evaluation to test if there was something wrong with him. Also, because what he does is dangerous doesn t mean he isn t right in the head. Just look at Steve Irwin and think twice before judging. He brought entertainment to the people, inspiration that anything is possible. Petit is just another human being that chased a dream, and accomplished his goal. Works Cited Man on Wire. Dir.James Marsh. Perf. Philippe Petit. Magnolia Home Entertainment, 2008. ... • 45. Personal Narrative-When Calls The Heart This season on When Calls the Heart has been a fantastic time of growth in the community, and many of the featured new faces have been the children of Hope Valley. Yet again, Hearties were introduced to a character named Robert who didn t get along with Cody in the beginning, but Miss Thatcher never gave up on him. With his signature curly hair and spot on facial expressions, we have not been able to overlook this character nor the boy who has infused him with life, Jaiven Natt. Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with this 11 year old who has become a delightful part of this weekly Hallmark escape. What inspired you to become an actor at your age? I always thought actors had such fun on TV, and it was something I really wanted to do. We happened to hear about an acting camp, and my mom asked if I wanted to go. Of course I did, and we had to go to LA for the camp. My mom had a GPS to get us there, but we got lost. We stopped off at a store, and my mom wasn t sure we should keep going. I said I really wanted to go, and I begged her to keep going. And then we found the camp, and I had such a great time. My coach at the camp was a real $$#Break#$$ But after talking with this young man (who honestly has a delectable sense of humor and is quite grounded, thanks to his tremendous parents), there is no doubt in my mind that he is on the right course, and he is just the sort of person who will resonate with fans now and in the years to come. I would say to watch out for this young man as he is on a path that will ultimately bring him (and us) great joy and fulfillment. Be sure to follow him every step of this magnificent journey as you watch him on When Calls the Heart every Sunday on the Hallmark channel, and follow him on twitter (https://twitter.com/JaivenNatt ... • 47. Clues to the True Meaning of “Sestina” by Elizabeth Bishop A sestina is a fixed form of six stanzas that end with an envoi, an address to an imagined or real subject. This particular form of Sestina by Elizabeth Bishop takes you through one particular afternoon of a grandmother and her grandchild. Though the poem itself is ambiguous, Bishop foreshadows the grandmother s demise throughout the entirety of the poem. The five words almanac, grandmother, tears, stove, and house are used at the end of each line for the six stanzas and envoi. They are clues as to figuring out the meaning of the poem. However, they are not the only clues as symbolism is the main usage of figurative language. The speaker is assumed to be Elizabeth Bishop but even she has written the poem in a way that reflects that of an outside observer to obscure the poem even further. To start off the analysis, the setting of the entire poem is significant. Though the poem takes place in a house, the atmosphere the house is set in is also important. The month is September which is a month of fall which can be seen as a symbol for decline. It definitely insinuates that the poem is leading towards death. Line 1 has September rain falls on the house which gives the feeling of a dark and cold night with a storm on top of that. To further develop that, Bishop gives us the failing light in line 2 to also give us an idea of the grandmother s struggle. Bishop uses the cyclical theme of changing seasons to show the unending nature of what is transpiring within the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
