in particular began its work with six restaurants fiscal year ending 1970 that increased to 704
restaurants in the United States and Canada by ending fiscal year 2012. In 1983, Darden opened
its first Red Lobster restaurant in Windsor, Ontario, located in Canada. The first Red Lobster
restaurant in the United States opened in 1968 in Lakeland, Florida. There is a plan for Red
Lobster to remodel its restaurants across the U.S. and Canada. The new design will mirror the
seaside village of Bar Harbor, Maine. As of June, 2012 they have more than half of the system in
the Bar Harbor image. All of Red Lobster s restaurants are scheduled to be completed by 2014 (
Corporate Fact Sheet, 2012, para. 6) . According to the Data monitor report on leading
companies (2008), in Canada, the company operates 29 Red Lobster restaurants (para. 4).
Although Red Lobster has had success in Canada, there is no other quick service seafood
restaurant in the U.S. that has a major based quick service seafood restaurant who has established
a major existence towards the northern end of the border. Barry Shannon (1996) Vice President of
Operations of Red Lobster in Canada explains that Red Lobster offsets higher food, beverage and
labor costs with higher check averages up to 20 percent higher than at Red Lobster s counterparts in
the States (p. 1).

West Nile Virus Evolution
As a result of the mosquitoes physically being able to occupy a different vector, certain diseases
also begin to expand to occupy that vector as well. As stated by an article about the population
dynamics of mosquitoes, global changes . . . lead to an extension of the distribution areas of certain
mosquitospecies and the emergence of associated vector borne diseases (Ezanno et al.). As
mosquitoes shift the vector of where they live as a result of this global warming, they bring what
they have with them. In this case, this means that the mosquitoes bring these diseases with them
throughout this new vector. Not only do mosquitoes bring these diseases with them to these new
places, depending on the climate in this new area, certain diseases... Show more content on

As mentioned above, there was about 16,000 cases of neuroinvasive West Nile Virus reported
between 1999 and 2012, and about 1,500 deaths during that period as well (Nasci). Even though
these numbers are not as staggering as the 36,000 total cases of West Nile Virus reported during
this time period, the effects caused by the neuroinvasive type is what makes it just as bad. The
16,000 neuroinvasive cases breaks down into only 1,140 cases a year, which is significantly less,
but the fact that it is neuroinvasive and affects the nervous system, it still reaches the same
importance, or even higher, than the 36,000 West Nile Virus cases. Also, from all these cases, there
was unfortunately 1,500 deaths consequently, which is about 100 deaths a

The Community Mental Health Centers Act Of 1963 Closed...
Many years ago, mental illness was viewed as a demonic possession or a religious punishment. In
the 18th century, the attitudes towards mental illness were negative and persistent. This negativity
leads to the stigmatization and confinement of those who were mentally ill. The mentally ill were
sent to mental hospitals that were unhealthy and dangerous. A push in the mid 1950s for
deinstitutionalization began because of activists lobbying for change. Dorothea Dix was one of
these activists that helped push for change. The change called for more community oriented care
rather than asylum based care. The Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963 closed state
psychiatric hospitals throughout the United States. Only individuals who posed an imminent
danger to themselves or someone else could be committed to state psychiatric hospitals (A Brief
History of Mental Illness and the U.S. Mental Health Care System). Deinstitutionalization meant to
improve quality of life and treatment for those who are mentally ill. This would hopefully result in
the mentally ill receiving treatment so they could live more independently. The hope was that
community mental health programs would provide this treatment but sadly there was not sufficient
or ongoing funding to meet the growing demand for these programs. Budgets for mental hospitals
were reduced but there was no increase for the community based programs. Many mentally ill
individuals have been moved to nursing homes or other residential

A Summary Of Content-Related Validity
There are a variety of strategies available to I/O practitioners for the purpose of validation. For
example, there is construct validity, criterion related validity, content related validity, transport of
validity, meta analytic validation evidence, or consortium studies, among others (Scott Reynolds,
2010). However, the two most used methods (and therefore most researched) are criterion related
and content orientated strategies (Scott Reynolds, 2010).
Evidence for criterion related validity is generally obtained by demonstrating a relationship
between the predictor and criteria (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology [SIOP],
2003). The predictor is the results gathered from a selection procedure (e.g. test scores), and criteria

For example, although criterion related validity provides empirical evidence, it may produce
errors if too small of a sample is used, and in situation like this it may be better to use content
related validation. Another consideration, that most organizations would likely want to know, is
what the return on investment is when using validation methods (Scott Reynolds, 2010). Attention
to legal and regulatory rules would have to be taken into account when choosing the right
validation strategy too. McPhail and Stelly (as cited by Scott Reynolds, 2010) have this to say
about choosing a validation strategy, From an applied perspective, the type and amount of
validation research undertaken in a given application may in part be a function of the value of
such research based on relative costs and benefits (p. 703). Therefore, costs (both actual and
potential) associated with various validation strategies would need to be weighed against the
benefits such strategies would provide. Ultimately, knowing what is needed and what needs to be
obtained from a validation strategy, as well as the situational constraints involved, will help to guide
an I/O practitioner when choosing a validation

Psychological And Social Process Theory Paper
There are many theories that attempt to explain the cause of crime. Two theories for the cause of
crime are the Psychological and Social Process Theory. According to Schmalleger (2015),
psychological theorist believe crime is the result of inappropriate behavioral conditioning or a
diseased mind (p. 78). Social Process Theory claims crimeresults from failure of self direction,
from inadequate social roles, or from associating with others who are already criminals
(Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103). Another theory is Conflict theory, Schmalleger (2015) states that
according to conflict theory crime is a natural consequence of social, political, and economic
inequities (p. 77). Another approach to crime causation is the Sociological theories which argue the
individual is a product of his or her environment (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103).
Conflict theories are based on the belief that conflict among groups is unavoidable. According to
Schmalleger (2015), conflict theorists highlight the stress that arise among a social group as they
compete for resources and survival (p. 99). Conflict theorist believe that laws are tools of power
which further the interests of those who make them. This allows for those in power to gain control
of resources and deny accesses to disenfranchised groups (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 99).
Sociological theories on crime causation are pretty different, but they are all built on certain
foundations. According to Schmalleger (2015), sociological theorist

Assess The Causes Of Chartism
Chartism was a working class movement for political reform in Britain that existed from 1838 to
1857. It was given its name from the People s Charter of and was a national revolt for political and
social movement. The strategy employed was to use support through petitions and demonstrations
in order to put pressure on politicians to acknowledge suffering. Chartismthus relied on
constitutional approaches to achieve its goals. By 1839 the Chartists had obtained nearly one and a
half million signatures in support of reform and presented the Charter to the lower house of
parliament also known as the House of The Commons. The charter was, however rejected by the
government. A second petition of around three million signatures was rejected in 1842, and the
rejection of the third petition in 1848 saw the end of the Chartist movement.... Show more content

These can be split up into two main sections, political causes and economic causes. Firstly, one of
the main, and probably key causes of the rise of Chartism is the fact that the working classes were
disappointed with the 1832 Reform Act. This dissatisfaction with the Act came into being because
the Act did not enfranchise them, and they gained little from it. Also, they were unhappy with the
government s rejection to reform further, which therefore offered no prospect of the future
achievement of gaining the vote for the working classes. In addition, many of the working classes
had campaigned for the 1832 Reform Act and felt betrayed by the middle classes, since many of
them had actually lost the right to vote.
In general, the working classes were miserable, living in increasing poverty and convinced that
those above them were putting them in the worst conditions possible just to save money. The sizes
of boroughs still varied too much, and there was no secret ballot, so corruption and intimidation
were still a problem. Many therefore turned to Chartism as a way to continue the

Success Is Within The Individual Mind And Expectations
Success
Success is within the individual mind and expectations. The definition of success differs from
just one person s interpretation of what success means. A large block of life is spent working to
become successful: acquiring an education, being able to take care of family, achieving a life s
ambition, or making money. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow
up and make lots of money. Everyone aspires to be successful at whatever we are doing: starting a
new business, repairing the car, writing a term paper or practicing basketball. Every bit our efforts
are directed at achieving success. Success is not the end; it is the journey we take and there is no
right or wrong idea of success.
Money is the primary concern for some people and the main ingredient for anyone who is trying to
succeed in life. For this type of person, achieving success starts with going to a good college to
compete in a competitive job market and to prepare people to take on the world. People work
hard to make money so they can satisfy their desires. People dream about owning a home and take
pride in what they possess. Some need to appear successful in order to feel successful. These
people feel accomplished when they can admire what their hard work has given them.
For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it does not
always involve money. A person can feel successful without a lot of money, at all. For example,
feeling loved is

Essay about Comparing Islam and Judaism s Views on Euthanasia
Comparing Islam and Judaism s Views on Euthanasia
Euthanasia gained a legal foothold in Holland. It went to the ballot box in two states in America
but was defeated. Its lobby is getting more active. Islam and Judaism have definite views on
euthanasia.
The principle regarding the sanctity of human life implies that human life is immeasurable, that
there is no difference between a healthy person and a physically or mentally impaired person.
Likewise, the life expectancy of a patient is immaterial. The life of a human being, whether long or
short, is treated equally. Consequently, active euthanasia is absolutely prohibited even if requested
by the patient.
Islam and Judaism have both stemmed out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We humans have no real idea how life comes into being, our brains are not complex enough to
understand life, and therefore we should not mess around with it. Islam quite clearly says that
only God has the divine right to take life, as it is he who gave it to us in the first place.
Euthanasia may be known as mercy killing but from the point of a Muslim this does not exist.
Mercy killing sounds as if a life is being taken as it is the only and best option in a certain
situation. Even if a person has an incurable disease, Islam teaches us to make that persons last
days on Earth as comfortable as you can. We should fulfill all the wishes of that person, and we
should try and ease the pain as much as we can. Euthanasia is never an option!
Islam teaches us that we are only in this world for a limited period. This life is only a blink of an
eye compared to the hereafter. This life is a test, and if we pass it we go to heaven. All the
illnesses that we encounter are part of this test, and most of all it is a test of our faith. If our
faith is strong then we should have the strength to have faith in God and we should eventually
overcome it. In Islam we believe that whatever happens, even if it is bad, happens for the best. It
is part of our destiny, it is meant to happen, and it is part of God s plan. Islam also teaches

increasing their exercise, losing weight, and limiting their sodium intake. If the bloodpressure is not
able to be controlled an antihypertensive medication may need to be implemented. A first line
medication should initially be started to help control his blood pressure. There are different types
that can be used. Some of these comprise of a thiazide diuretic or an angiotensin converting

data from 2013 to 2015 has remained relatively unchanged with one exception children with
intellectual disabilities reading scores have actually dropped (National Report Card, 2015). The
purpose of this study was to determine if evidence based readinginterventions from the Florida
Center for Reading Research (FCRR) would increase phoneme blending and segmenting skills in
children who have intellectual disabilities. Two 1st grade special education students, ages 6 and 7,

IDEA also stated that any alternate assessment must be aligned to grade level standards (Towles
Reeves, Kleinart Muhomba, 2009). The research is expanding in the area of evidence based reading
interventions to include children who have intellectual disabilities. Phonological awareness is
gaining support as a critical element in reading instruction as shown in student performances using
targeted intervention measures that align to the student s instructional level and to reading
standards (Lemons, Mrachko, Kostewicz, Paterra, 2012). Without explicit instruction in
phonologicalawareness, a student will fall short in being able to understand the critical elements
needed to read and will only be able to learn by memorization (Shankweiler Fowler, 2004). Based on
these statistics, evidence based reading interventions including phonological awareness must be
included in reading instruction. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of evidence based
reading interventions that align with students instructional level and their achievement in literacy
performance for first grade students who have intellectual disabilities (ID). The information
presented focused on early literacy development, phonological awareness, intellectual

a)Ralph observed certain inconsistencies between the two sets of drawings.
b)The two departments that were responsible for producing the drawings do not communicate with
each other. The Engineering department does not design for manufacturing. It seems that efficiency
and costs are not considered in the design phase.

A worker has to go to the computer each time an operation is completed, and Joe s son wastes his
time recording mostly useless data. Screws are counted and delivered in marked bags, scrap wood
is recorded, etc.
The plan is rigid and is not focused on achieving a minimum but on not exceeding a maximum
deadline. The amount of work in progress is high and the planning does not factor that in. In this
particular case, a mistake at the beginning, when there is little work in progress, may not have
much of an impact or no impact at all because of the generous buffers. A mistake later, when the
amount of work in progress is high, may delay the work more than the buffers can compensate for.
a)Ralph suggests building only one section at a time cellular manufacturing. In this case the
operation becomes so small that the planning and control system designed by Joe becomes
redundant.
b)The amount of work in progress is minimized. Fewer tools are needed. The parts do not have to
travel between the work stations. The control systems becomes redundant, everything takes place in
the garage.
5. Joe does not have an incentive system. The workers are bullied and rushed to do the work with
no reward if they finish in time. Promises (a beer at the end) are not kept.
a)He relies on a computer for performance evaluation. It is easy to get first hand information, as the

Asylum Crisis Essay
Across the globe there has been a massive influx of refugees seeking refuge and help. This is in a
large part due to the extreme violence occurring in the Middle East, but it also stems from people
leaving their native countries because of poverty, religious beliefs, or other things that put them at
risk. The nations of Europe have been hit extremely hard with incoming refuges. This makes sense,
seeing how close they are to the middle east. What may be surprising is that Canadais also having
many problems arising because of the amount of refuges coming into the country. In this paper we
shall examine the problems stemming from the refuges in Canada and consider some ways that
these problems may be solved. To start we need to understand... Show more content on

For each person who claims asylum in Canada, the government spends between $15,000 and
$20,000 (Forrest 2017). Considering just how many people are coming in and filing for asylum,
that is quite a substantial amount of money. Moreover, this means that money that could have
been used for other government programs to help the natural citizens is now being diverted
towards this group of people. As for terrorist attacks, this is a much smaller problem. From 2014
to 2017, there have only been 6 terrorist attacks, none of which were on a massive scale (Press
2017). What s more is that for the most part, terrorist attacks are not committed by refugees. In
fact, the odds of a person being killed by a refugee in a terrorist attack is 1 in 3.6 billion (Nichols
2017). You are more likely to be struck by lightning twice (1 in 9 million) then to be killed by a
refugee terrorist. Now the question is begin brought up about how are the refugees affecting the
unemployment rate? Well to start off let s look at Alberta. In 2017, nearly 80% of the refugees
who settled in Alberta had found employment and this isn t including the ones who started their

it does show that the refugees can be a positive influence on the economy. Adding to this, statistics

Analyze The Impact Of Terrorism On American Culture
Throughout the world, terrorism affects cultures in a myriad of ways. The United States
Department of Defense defines terrorism as, the calculated use of violence or the threat of violence
to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals
that are generally political, religious, or ideological (DOD). Terrorismhas emerged in the last ten
years as one of the most crucial issues governments attempt to tackle. Many movies and documents
can help people better understand the major strain of terrorism. As seen by the effects of the
September eleventh attacks on American security, tourism and economy, the Taliban
, and Somali
piracy, terrorism has had an utmost impact on the world. September eleventh, 2001 was a tragic day
for not only the people of New York, but around the world. These attacks would shape America s
security, tourist industry, and the economy. The most immediate change was airport security, which
is fully visible to this day ( Doc. 1). Congress federalized airport security by passing the Aviation and
Transportation Act, and created the Transportation Security Association, commonly known as TSA.

Genesis 37-38 Analysis
Genesis 37 38 This is the introduction of Jacob/Israel s favorite son, Joseph. Joseph has multiple
dreams, which allude to a future where he will rule over all of his family members. Joseph s
brothers, who already despise Joseph, become even angrier after he tells them about his dreams.
Instead of murdering Joseph as they initially wanted, they sell him to Ishmaelites at Judah s advice
and Joseph is taken prisoner to Egypt. Chapter 38 is a sudden shift to Judah and his familyafter
Joseph is sold into slavery. A woman named Tamar marries Judah s firstborn, but after he dies
she marries the second son. He dies as well and Judah sends her away, fearing for the life of his
youngest son, but promises that she will marry his youngest son once he is old enough. Judah does

Susan Niditch focuses on the role of women in the period of the ancestral history and how it

that she has claimed her place in his family, which is contrary to what many modern day people

Social networking has risen in popularity throughout the last twenty years and in effect
narcissistic behavior has increased within society(particularly America s society) since the 1980

is a resulting increase in their online social networking activity(Mehdizadeh 357). Social
networking sites or SNSs are defined as: A web based services that allow individuals to (1)

to look up these obsolete means of communication while checking their notifications on the

website and has a need to be social online; although not everyone wants to jump on this platform
of communication. As the amount of people using a particular social networking website

attracting a greater share of the population. Consequently utilizing a domino effect technique.
The people who populate the site will become popular at greater levels as they increase their

motivating power to accomplish something we want to do and therefore it makes us feel proud

we can see his writing skills in this stories. The author also demonstrates her unlimited desire

with its drab walls, threadbare furniture, and ugly curtains and she wants to be envied, attractive
in a house with large, silent anterooms, with elegant valets and large drawing rooms draped in
the most expensive silks with fine end tables of inestimable value . These adjectives are enough to
show Mathilde s unrealistic awareness of her situation with innate pride, which is not expected to

group. Children are the most venerable group because they have no control over where they

Chewing Gum Should Be Allowed In School Essay
What is one change that could be made to make schools better? What do you think should be
changed? In my opinion, one rule that should be changed to make our school better is give
authorization for kids to chew gum. In fact, scientist have established that chewing gum can help
enhance the student learning capability in numerous ways. Therefore, the rationale being is that
kids that chew gumshould be allowed to in school reason being it could help them stay more
focused and become enhanced students, it could also help enhance their memory, and I have heard
people in school saying that when they are chewing gumit helps them stay relaxed. However,
chewing gum should be allowed in school is on behalf of it has been scientifically proven that
chewing gum can cause students to be more focused and manufacture students become better, help
them enhance their memory, and also I have heard from people scoffed around school that when
they chew gum it helps them stay relaxed.
Kids should be able to chew gum during school reason being is that it has been scientifically proven
that chewing gum can form students to stay more focused in making them better student. On the
other hand, the principal s and teachers think gum should not be allowed because they think gum is
an interruption considering that the students would most likely be blowing bubbles and making
commotion with their bubble gum. However, if that did happen all the teachers would have to say
is everyone needs to provoke blowing bubbles and then students should stop. When the teacher
gives out, work it has been scientifically proven to help them stay more focused, so that means
chewing gum could cause the students want to be less focus on their surroundings and stay more
focused on getting their work done. Then, if they start getting their work done, that means that they
are becoming superior students.
Another, reason kids and students should be able to chew gum during school is it has also been
scientifically proven to help improve the students memory. For example, when students are studying
for a test it could help them remember what they studied about. Next, it can also help them
remember what they learned that day during school thanks to they were

The Impact Of Climate Change On Wind Energy Resources Of...
This study was designed to assess the impacts of climate change on wind energy resources of the
United Kingdom as simulated by a regional climate model. It was a continuation of the previous
work by Tobin et al. (2016) in which they investigated impacts of climate change on wind power
generation at the European scale. Here, a more detailed impacts assessment for the UK was
conducted which was specific to two most relevant scenarios of climate change and covered the
twenty first century. Several studies which were focused on wind powerassessment used an
ensemble of RCM projections (for example Tobin et al., 2016; Nolan et al., 2012; Tobin et al.,
2014; Pryor et al., 2005). A different approach was followed here, which was intended to segregate
an RCM projection, based on its performance to simulate past wind climate and variability. An
available set of high resolution EURO CORDEX simulation data was analysed for the purpose.
A detailed analysis was carried out pertaining to two main objectives as mentioned below.
a.To evaluate if near surface wind speed, simulated by Rossby Centre regional atmospheric model,
(RCA4) at high resolution (11km) using five different boundary conditions from GCMs during
historical period (1980 2005) illustrate reliable climate features as recorded by MERRA reanalysis
data.
MERRA was chosen as an observed data product due to its high temporal and spatial resolution.
Previous studies also highlighted better performance of MERRA as compared to other

Abuse Of Power In 1984 And Metropolis
To completely understand a text, you must recognise the circumstances that formed the setting for
the event, statement or idea. Context therefore, plays an important role in the opportunities that
arise from exploring the extent of the use and abuse of power in relation to our natural primitive
nature. George Orwells Nineteen eighty four(1984) published in 1949 and Fritz Lang s Metropolis
published in January, 1927 (remade in 2010) are two texts that evaluate the mechanisms of power in
societies that practice socio political supremacy and tyranny. Orwell and Lang use comprehensive
language forms and features to produce a complex and uncertain fate of humanity. Their ideas,
values and attitudes were influenced by the social, cultural and historical contexts of society at the
time.
1984 is a fictional text of a dystopian society that illustrates Orwell s prediction of a future of
oppression and control. It is an attack on totalitarian government where the state controls all aspects
of life and impacts how people perceive, comprehend, and converse about modern social
movements. Power is inflicting pain and humiliation. Power is in tearing human minds to pieces

Understanding The Lakota Sioux Tribe
Understanding the Lakota Sioux
I have chosen to conduct research and develop my project around the Native American group, the
Lakota Sioux. In particular, my focus will be on the role trauma plays in their culture. I chose
The Lakota Sioux because of the fact that they are from the area and surrounding area of where I
live and I have always had an interest in Native Americans. The Lakota peoplehave suffered greatly
due to trauma brought on as a result of unjust events throughout their history. They were and
continue to be oppressed and I would like to better understand the injustices that they endured and
continue to endure and to discover strategies for helping this group.
The Lakota Indians are a tribal Native America group that resides in the northern part of the United
States. Although a large number of Indians have immersed themselves into American culture,
several tribal groups carry out their daily affairs on Indian reservations. The Lakota Indian s
primary location is in South Dakota and North Dakota. Native American s have been victims of
historical trauma, sometimes referred to as multi generational trauma. There is a sense of
powerlessness and hopelessness associated with historical trauma that contributes to high rates of
alcoholism, substance abuse, suicide, and other health issues (Birchfield, 2000). The Lakota Sioux
is one such group that has suffered greatly due to trauma. Lakota people are marginalized and

Futura Is A Sans Serif Typeface
Futura is a sans serif typeface. It is classified as geometric, meaning that the looks of the
letterforms are based on geometric shapes. The bowls of the letters are almost perfect circles
and the peaks of some letters such as W s and uppercase A s create triangles. This gives the
letterforms a very simple look that can be broken down into just a few key elements. For
example, letters such as the lowercase d and b are made up of a circle and str¬aight, vertical
line on one side, and letters such as the uppercase T are simply made up of two perfectly straight
lines one horizontal and one vertical, with the vertical line extending directly below the center of
the horizontal line. The lowercase t changes things up a bit with the fact that the two lines are
off centered. Instead of being directly in the center like the uppercase, the vertical line is
positioned slightly to the left. The lowercase f mimics this as well. There are 22 different
typefaces that make up the Futura family. These include regular, light, light, book, medium,
semibold, bold, extrabold, black, italic, condensed, oblique, display, and inline. The weight of the
strokes is near even which results in little to no contrast. It has a tall x height making it easier to
read even at small sizes. The lowercase letters are actually taller than their uppercase counterparts,
with the ascenders rising rise above the cap height line. Some of the capitals form sharp points (as

FISA Pros And Cons
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was first enacted in 1978, and later amended,
including in 1994, by the Patriot Act, and by 2008 it became the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance
Act Amendments. In 1972, the Supreme Court chose the case of United States v. United States
District Court, otherwise called the Keith case, in which the Court considered the legality of an
Attorney General approved warrantless electronic surveillance of a United Statescitizen blamed for
bombing a Central Intelligence Agency building. The Court rejected the government s appeal to
acknowledge a foreign intelligence special case to the per se warrant prerequisite, holding that the
Fourth Amendment prohibited warrantless surveillance directed at domestic threats to United
States national security. The Court directly refused to choose the legality of warrantless
surveillances where foreign powers or their agents were included, leaving open the issue of the
Executive s power to direct such operational activities at those persons or elements. The Court
likewise firmly asked the Congress to supply a judicially manageable standard appropriate to
surveillances conducted for national security purposes.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Abdominoplasty Essay Questions
What Patients Need to Know
A tummy tuck, also referred to as abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat
and skin in the abdominal area. Before asking Am I a good tummy tuck candidate, patients need to
know that a tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss. Diet and exercise should be used as a
weight loss aid prior to a tummy tuck. The ideal candidate for this surgery is someone at a healthy
weight for his or her age, height, and body type. Ideal candidates have loose, excessive skin in
the lower abdominal region. This skin could be the result of extreme weight loss, pregnancy, or
aging. Patients approved for a tummy tuck will have two incisions made: one in the lower
abdomen and one around the navel. The fat and skin are then separated from the abdominal
muscles. The muscles are trimmed to give the tummy a tighter look and stitched into place. The
skin is re stretched over the muscles and any excess skin is removed. The lower incision is stitched
up, and the upper incision is closed after the navel has been reattached in a natural looking position.

The Theory Of Evolution And Evolution
Since Charles Darwin suggested the theory of evolution by natural selection in this best known
work, On the Origin of Species, controversy has followed. As a (computer) scientist, this student
has no personal problem with the theory of evolution. However, since the debate of whether or not
evolution actually exists is still alive and well today, a brief exploration of the arguments against is
not only interesting, but also increasingly necessary. Why is there such disparity over this topic
over one hundred and fifty years later? In order to understand the contrary side of this debate, the
question must be asked: why would evolutionnot be possible? . This student will walk through
possible reasons someone might not accept evolution as a scientific theory, as well as some of
the more well known arguments , and provide responses to those arguments from the side of
evolutionary science . The first thing one must understand is that there are many different
factions of people that do not believe in evolution. This is not to disparage those of lower
education or less privilege, but meant to illustrate the ease in which misgivings about evolution
pervade the social circles of certain groups of people. These people range in religious
background, gender, and nationality. One of the only things most people have in common if they

something that is active across the world, and it doesn t just happen in schools, it can happen
anywhere at any time to anyone. We can all always do our best to prevent it but the outcome is
very low.
Statistics show that between the ages of 5 and 7 is when bullying is very hot. In the article Bullying

realize new things about others children do not intend to pick on one another they just simply
do don t know how to be polite about the situation. When bullying is in action most of the time

Sometimes a person begins to bully others because of their situation and lifestyle at home. We all
know things at home can sometimes get a little out of hand, in all families. A child may come
from a single parent home or their parents may have just recently split up. In other instances, a
person may live in a poor neighborhood and their parents or guardians may not be handling the
responsibility of being a parent in a way that they should. The most popular reason for a bully to
start bullying in the first place usually is a cry for help.

that African Americans made the choice to endure some of the oppressions that they faced. For

The Characteristics Of Generation X And Generation

Introduction Purpose
Motivation is the word derived from the word motive which means, needs, desires, wants or
drives within the individuals. It is the process of stimulating people to action to accomplish the
goals. In the work goal context the psychological factors stimulating the people s behavior can be
desire for money, success, recognition, job satisfaction, teamwork, etc. (Bolles, R. C. 1975.) We

Remedies Under Breach Of Contract
1.3 Remedies available under breach of contract
1.3.1 Breach of a Contract
A breach of contract is where a party to a contract fails to perform, precisely and faithfully, his
obligations under the contract. This can take numerous forms for example, the failure to supply
goods or perform a service as agreed. Breach of contract may be either actual or anticipatory.
пѓ Actual breach occurs where one party refuses to form his side of the bargain on the due date
or performs incompletely. For example: Poussard v Spiers and Bettini v Gye.
пѓ Anticipatory breach occurs where one party announces, in advance of the due date for

A legal remedy is a court order that seeks to uphold a person s rights or to reparation a breach of

Analysis Of Bad Feminist By Roxane Gay
We are not the Same: A Summary of Bad Feminist
Roxane Gay, author of the article entitled Bad Feminist , is a very accomplished American
feminist writer. Her publication of Bad Feminist in 2012 gained national public attention (1).
Feminism, as defined in the dictionary, is the advocacy of women s rights on the basis of the
equality of the sexes (2), but Gay explains throughout her article that being a feminist is not just as
simple as agreeing with this need for gender equality. The feminist label is too narrow and because
of this the feminist movement is breaking apart. In this piece, Gay addresses how our society
currently defines feminism and explains why this definition does not encompass everybody that it
should.
Gay starts by explaining that when we talk about feminism today we only refer to a small sliver of
the entire feminist population, the essential feminist. To fit into the essential feminist category
there are many feminist ideals you must live up to in order to be doing feminism right (Gay). The
standards assumed are anger, humorlessness, militancy, hate sex, white, heterosexual, career driven,
beautiful and so on (Gay). Gay stops to point out one of the many flaws in this definition; if beauty
is an essential part of being a feminist and your worth is determined in part by your beauty, isn t
that entirely contradictory to the very thing feminism is fighting against? Because of this narrow
and stereotypical image of feminism at center stage in the

Natural Resource Of Natural Resources
While natural resources have played an important role in creating wealth and powering
development, recent research shows an inverse correlation between the abundance of natural
resources and growth and development. This has been true of many of the economies in Latin
America, Africa and the Arab world, regions characterized by high levels of natural resources
endowments, be they minerals, oil or timber. The inverse correlation between endowment and
wealth creation dubbed as the natural resourcecurse hypothesis has been the subject of intense study
and has yielded valuable insights into political economy issues.
Natural resource abundance has been associated with predatory political regimes which win and

This understanding is noticeably sparse. To be fair, developing a good understanding of
stakeholder motivations is extremely challenging because of the complex nature of the sector,
which itself arises from special sector characteristics. What are these? These range from the
biophysical, to the social, to economic, to the state. On the biophysical side, forest resources
contribute multiple benefits and services; yet the resource (even though it is technically
renewable) renews only quite slowly and many services can be irreversibly lost if the resource
stock falls below a critical minimum. On the social front, this is a sector which is characterized
by unclear ownership and access rights and conflicts between traditional and modern legal rights.
The resource generates multiple benefits for multiple users and often these are in conflict. Unlike
other resources, forests provide a wide range of public benefits ( watershed protection, carbon
sequestration, biodiversity protection, and ecosystem resilience) only when they are preserved;
and they provide private benefits (timber rents) principally when they are harvested. So there is a
well recognized need for high levels of intervention to ensure optimal and sustainable levels of
harvesting as well as adequate protection of the public benefits. In addition, both,

A And The American Dream
A Xicano and The American Dream Is the American Dream something that is feasible for the
son of two immigrant parents? Watching my parents try to climb up the ranks of their job and
society, in general, in the most honest way, only to just be met with racist legislation, police
brutality, racial profiling, and exploitation, I have come to the conclusion that the American
Dream is a fallacy. I ve seen too many people beat and killed by the system; too many people of
color systemically beat down and killed. I have had too many friends fall victim to the prison
system. I have worked too many years in the strawberry, blackberry, and blueberry fields. I am
tired of seeing my people suffer; it is time for me to help. I want to become a teacher and
hopefully, someday, become a lawyer. The circumstances that led me to the path that I am on
started long before I was born. My father came to the U.S when he was 14 years old. I wish I could
say that he was still a kid, but he wasn t he was treated like a man. He was expected to work the
blazing hot summer fields and the terribly cold winter fields like a grown man is expected to
work. He was expected to provide for his three brothers and three sisters like a grown man is
expected to provide for his family. There wasn t time to play outside with the other children, paint,
draw, or even go to school; there was only time to work and provide. At age 19, he married my
mother and they had my oldest sister. He undertook

One creative way to get started investing in real estate is to use a lease option. The biggest
advantage of using lease options to invest in real estate is control. This method of investing,
basically gives the investor the right to possess be in control of and profit from a property without
owning it.
A real estate lease option contract is a combination of two documents.
The lease part of the contract is where the owner agrees to let you lease their property, while you
pay them rent for a stated period of time. During the lease period, the owner can not raise the rent,
rent it to anyone else, or sell the property to anyone else.
The option part of the contract represents the right you purchased to buy the property in the
future, for a specific price. If you decide to exercise your option to buy, the owner has to sell it to
you at the negotiated price. The option part of the contract obligates the seller to sell to you during
the option period but it does not obligate you to buy. You are only obligated to make rental

As stated by an article about the population dynamics of mosquitoes, global changes . . . lead to an extension of the distribution areas of certain mosquitospecies and the emergence of associated vector borne diseases (Ezanno et al.). As mosquitoes shift the vector of where they live as a result of this global warming, they bring what they have with them. • 4. The Community Mental Health Centers Act Of 1963 Closed... Many years ago, mental illness was viewed as a demonic possession or a religious punishment. In the 18th century, the attitudes towards mental illness were negative and persistent. This negativity leads to the stigmatization and confinement of those who were mentally ill. The mentally ill were sent to mental hospitals that were unhealthy and dangerous. A push in the mid 1950s for deinstitutionalization began because of activists lobbying for change. Dorothea Dix was one of these activists that helped push for change. The change called for more community oriented care rather than asylum based care. The Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963 closed state psychiatric hospitals throughout the United States. Only individuals who posed an imminent danger to themselves or someone else could be committed to state psychiatric hospitals (A Brief History of Mental Illness and the U.S. Mental Health Care System). Deinstitutionalization meant to improve quality of life and treatment for those who are mentally ill. This would hopefully result in the mentally ill receiving treatment so they could live more independently. The hope was that community mental health programs would provide this treatment but sadly there was not sufficient or ongoing funding to meet the growing demand for these programs. Budgets for mental hospitals were reduced but there was no increase for the community based programs. Many mentally ill individuals have been moved to nursing homes or other residential ... • 5. A Summary Of Content-Related Validity There are a variety of strategies available to I/O practitioners for the purpose of validation. For example, there is construct validity, criterion related validity, content related validity, transport of validity, meta analytic validation evidence, or consortium studies, among others (Scott Reynolds, 2010). However, the two most used methods (and therefore most researched) are criterion related and content orientated strategies (Scott Reynolds, 2010). Evidence for criterion related validity is generally obtained by demonstrating a relationship between the predictor and criteria (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology [SIOP], 2003). The predictor is the results gathered from a selection procedure (e.g. test scores), and criteria ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, although criterion related validity provides empirical evidence, it may produce errors if too small of a sample is used, and in situation like this it may be better to use content related validation. Another consideration, that most organizations would likely want to know, is what the return on investment is when using validation methods (Scott Reynolds, 2010). Attention to legal and regulatory rules would have to be taken into account when choosing the right validation strategy too. McPhail and Stelly (as cited by Scott Reynolds, 2010) have this to say about choosing a validation strategy, From an applied perspective, the type and amount of validation research undertaken in a given application may in part be a function of the value of such research based on relative costs and benefits (p. 703). Therefore, costs (both actual and potential) associated with various validation strategies would need to be weighed against the benefits such strategies would provide. Ultimately, knowing what is needed and what needs to be obtained from a validation strategy, as well as the situational constraints involved, will help to guide an I/O practitioner when choosing a validation ... • 6. Psychological And Social Process Theory Paper There are many theories that attempt to explain the cause of crime. Two theories for the cause of crime are the Psychological and Social Process Theory. According to Schmalleger (2015), psychological theorist believe crime is the result of inappropriate behavioral conditioning or a diseased mind (p. 78). Social Process Theory claims crimeresults from failure of self direction, from inadequate social roles, or from associating with others who are already criminals (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103). Another theory is Conflict theory, Schmalleger (2015) states that according to conflict theory crime is a natural consequence of social, political, and economic inequities (p. 77). Another approach to crime causation is the Sociological theories which argue the individual is a product of his or her environment (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 103). Conflict theories are based on the belief that conflict among groups is unavoidable. According to Schmalleger (2015), conflict theorists highlight the stress that arise among a social group as they compete for resources and survival (p. 99). Conflict theorist believe that laws are tools of power which further the interests of those who make them. This allows for those in power to gain control of resources and deny accesses to disenfranchised groups (Schmalleger, 2015, p. 99). Sociological theories on crime causation are pretty different, but they are all built on certain foundations. According to Schmalleger (2015), sociological theorist ... • 7. Assess The Causes Of Chartism Chartism was a working class movement for political reform in Britain that existed from 1838 to 1857. It was given its name from the People s Charter of and was a national revolt for political and social movement. The strategy employed was to use support through petitions and demonstrations in order to put pressure on politicians to acknowledge suffering. Chartismthus relied on constitutional approaches to achieve its goals. By 1839 the Chartists had obtained nearly one and a half million signatures in support of reform and presented the Charter to the lower house of parliament also known as the House of The Commons. The charter was, however rejected by the government. A second petition of around three million signatures was rejected in 1842, and the rejection of the third petition in 1848 saw the end of the Chartist movement.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These can be split up into two main sections, political causes and economic causes. Firstly, one of the main, and probably key causes of the rise of Chartism is the fact that the working classes were disappointed with the 1832 Reform Act. This dissatisfaction with the Act came into being because the Act did not enfranchise them, and they gained little from it. Also, they were unhappy with the government s rejection to reform further, which therefore offered no prospect of the future achievement of gaining the vote for the working classes. In addition, many of the working classes had campaigned for the 1832 Reform Act and felt betrayed by the middle classes, since many of them had actually lost the right to vote. In general, the working classes were miserable, living in increasing poverty and convinced that those above them were putting them in the worst conditions possible just to save money. The sizes of boroughs still varied too much, and there was no secret ballot, so corruption and intimidation were still a problem. Many therefore turned to Chartism as a way to continue the ... • 8. Success Is Within The Individual Mind And Expectations Success Success is within the individual mind and expectations. The definition of success differs from just one person s interpretation of what success means. A large block of life is spent working to become successful: acquiring an education, being able to take care of family, achieving a life s ambition, or making money. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. Everyone aspires to be successful at whatever we are doing: starting a new business, repairing the car, writing a term paper or practicing basketball. Every bit our efforts are directed at achieving success. Success is not the end; it is the journey we take and there is no right or wrong idea of success. Money is the primary concern for some people and the main ingredient for anyone who is trying to succeed in life. For this type of person, achieving success starts with going to a good college to compete in a competitive job market and to prepare people to take on the world. People work hard to make money so they can satisfy their desires. People dream about owning a home and take pride in what they possess. Some need to appear successful in order to feel successful. These people feel accomplished when they can admire what their hard work has given them. For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it does not always involve money. A person can feel successful without a lot of money, at all. For example, feeling loved is ... The principle regarding the sanctity of human life implies that human life is immeasurable, that there is no difference between a healthy person and a physically or mentally impaired person. Euthanasia may be known as mercy killing but from the point of a Muslim this does not exist. Mercy killing sounds as if a life is being taken as it is the only and best option in a certain situation. Even if a person has an incurable disease, Islam teaches us to make that persons last days on Earth as comfortable as you can. We should fulfill all the wishes of that person, and we should try and ease the pain as much as we can. Euthanasia is never an option! If our faith is strong then we should have the strength to have faith in God and we should eventually overcome it. In Islam we believe that whatever happens, even if it is bad, happens for the best. Considering just how many people are coming in and filing for asylum, that is quite a substantial amount of money. Moreover, this means that money that could have been used for other government programs to help the natural citizens is now being diverted towards this group of people. As for terrorist attacks, this is a much smaller problem. From 2014 to 2017, there have only been 6 terrorist attacks, none of which were on a massive scale (Press 2017). However, chewing gum should be allowed in school is on behalf of it has been scientifically proven that chewing gum can cause students to be more focused and manufacture students become better, help them enhance their memory, and also I have heard from people scoffed around school that when they chew gum it helps them stay relaxed. Kids should be able to chew gum during school reason being is that it has been scientifically proven that chewing gum can form students to stay more focused in making them better student. On the other hand, the principal s and teachers think gum should not be allowed because they think gum is an interruption considering that the students would most likely be blowing bubbles and making commotion with their bubble gum. However, if that did happen all the teachers would have to say is everyone needs to provoke blowing bubbles and then students should stop. When the teacher gives out, work it has been scientifically proven to help them stay more focused, so that means chewing gum could cause the students want to be less focus on their surroundings and stay more focused on getting their work done. Then, if they start getting their work done, that means that they are becoming superior students. Another, reason kids and students should be able to chew gum during school is it has also been scientifically proven to help improve the students memory. For example, when students are studying for a test it could help them remember what they studied about. • 22. The Impact Of Climate Change On Wind Energy Resources Of... This study was designed to assess the impacts of climate change on wind energy resources of the United Kingdom as simulated by a regional climate model. It was a continuation of the previous work by Tobin et al. (2016) in which they investigated impacts of climate change on wind power generation at the European scale. Here, a more detailed impacts assessment for the UK was conducted which was specific to two most relevant scenarios of climate change and covered the twenty first century. Several studies which were focused on wind powerassessment used an ensemble of RCM projections (for example Tobin et al., 2016; Nolan et al., 2012; Tobin et al., 2014; Pryor et al., 2005). A different approach was followed here, which was intended to segregate an RCM projection, based on its performance to simulate past wind climate and variability. An available set of high resolution EURO CORDEX simulation data was analysed for the purpose. A detailed analysis was carried out pertaining to two main objectives as mentioned below. a.To evaluate if near surface wind speed, simulated by Rossby Centre regional atmospheric model, (RCA4) at high resolution (11km) using five different boundary conditions from GCMs during historical period (1980 2005) illustrate reliable climate features as recorded by MERRA reanalysis data. George Orwells Nineteen eighty four(1984) published in 1949 and Fritz Lang s Metropolis published in January, 1927 (remade in 2010) are two texts that evaluate the mechanisms of power in societies that practice socio political supremacy and tyranny. Orwell and Lang use comprehensive language forms and features to produce a complex and uncertain fate of humanity. Their ideas, values and attitudes were influenced by the social, cultural and historical contexts of society at the time. 1984 is a fictional text of a dystopian society that illustrates Orwell s prediction of a future of oppression and control. • 27. Futura Is A Sans Serif Typeface Futura is a sans serif typeface. It is classified as geometric, meaning that the looks of the letterforms are based on geometric shapes. The bowls of the letters are almost perfect circles and the peaks of some letters such as W s and uppercase A s create triangles. This gives the letterforms a very simple look that can be broken down into just a few key elements. For example, letters such as the lowercase d and b are made up of a circle and strВ¬aight, vertical line on one side, and letters such as the uppercase T are simply made up of two perfectly straight lines one horizontal and one vertical, with the vertical line extending directly below the center of the horizontal line. The lowercase t changes things up a bit with the fact that the two lines are off centered. Instead of being directly in the center like the uppercase, the vertical line is positioned slightly to the left. The lowercase f mimics this as well. There are 22 different typefaces that make up the Futura family. These include regular, light, light, book, medium, semibold, bold, extrabold, black, italic, condensed, oblique, display, and inline. The weight of the strokes is near even which results in little to no contrast. It has a tall x height making it easier to read even at small sizes. The Court rejected the government s appeal to acknowledge a foreign intelligence special case to the per se warrant prerequisite, holding that the Fourth Amendment prohibited warrantless surveillance directed at domestic threats to United States national security. The Court directly refused to choose the legality of warrantless surveillances where foreign powers or their agents were included, leaving open the issue of the Executive s power to direct such operational activities at those persons or elements. This student will walk through possible reasons someone might not accept evolution as a scientific theory, as well as some of the more well known arguments , and provide responses to those arguments from the side of evolutionary science . The first thing one must understand is that there are many different factions of people that do not believe in evolution. This is not to disparage those of lower education or less privilege, but meant to illustrate the ease in which misgivings about evolution pervade the social circles of certain groups of people. Analysis Of Bad Feminist By Roxane Gay We are not the Same: A Summary of Bad Feminist Roxane Gay, author of the article entitled Bad Feminist , is a very accomplished American feminist writer. Her publication of Bad Feminist in 2012 gained national public attention (1). Feminism, as defined in the dictionary, is the advocacy of women s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes (2), but Gay explains throughout her article that being a feminist is not just as simple as agreeing with this need for gender equality. The feminist label is too narrow and because of this the feminist movement is breaking apart. In this piece, Gay addresses how our society currently defines feminism and explains why this definition does not encompass everybody that it should. Gay starts by explaining that when we talk about feminism today we only refer to a small sliver of the entire feminist population, the essential feminist. To fit into the essential feminist category there are many feminist ideals you must live up to in order to be doing feminism right (Gay). The standards assumed are anger, humorlessness, militancy, hate sex, white, heterosexual, career driven, beautiful and so on (Gay). Gay stops to point out one of the many flaws in this definition; if beauty is an essential part of being a feminist and your worth is determined in part by your beauty, isn t that entirely contradictory to the very thing feminism is fighting against? The inverse correlation between endowment and wealth creation dubbed as the natural resourcecurse hypothesis has been the subject of intense study and has yielded valuable insights into political economy issues. This understanding is noticeably sparse. To be fair, developing a good understanding of stakeholder motivations is extremely challenging because of the complex nature of the sector, which itself arises from special sector characteristics. What are these? These range from the biophysical, to the social, to economic, to the state. On the biophysical side, forest resources contribute multiple benefits and services; yet the resource (even though it is technically renewable) renews only quite slowly and many services can be irreversibly lost if the resource stock falls below a critical minimum. On the social front, this is a sector which is characterized by unclear ownership and access rights and conflicts between traditional and modern legal rights. The resource generates multiple benefits for multiple users and often these are in conflict. Unlike other resources, forests provide a wide range of public benefits ( watershed protection, carbon sequestration, biodiversity protection, and ecosystem resilience) only when they are preserved; and they provide private benefits (timber rents) principally when they are harvested. He was expected to provide for his three brothers and three sisters like a grown man is expected to provide for his family. The option part of the contract represents the right you purchased to buy the property in the future, for a specific price.
