1. Essay About Cause And Effect
Crafting an essay on the theme of cause and effect may initially seem like a straightforward task,
but delving into the intricacies of this topic can unveil a myriad of challenges. The very essence
of cause and effect requires a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of events, the
ability to discern primary and secondary factors, and the skill to articulate the consequences of
specific actions or phenomena.
One of the primary hurdles is the need for comprehensive research to identify and comprehend
the causal relationships. This process demands extensive exploration of various sources, ranging
from academic articles and scholarly journals to historical records and statistical data. It involves
sifting through a vast sea of information to extract pertinent details that will form the foundation
of a compelling essay.
Moreover, crafting a coherent structure for a cause and effect essay requires meticulous planning.
Establishing a logical flow between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion is crucial.
Ensuring that each cause is seamlessly linked to its respective effect, and vice versa, demands
careful consideration of the essay's overall architecture.
Analytical skills play a pivotal role in constructing a well-rounded cause and effect essay. The
writer must not only recognize the causal connections but also interpret their significance. This
involves critical thinking, the ability to discern patterns, and a keen awareness of the broader
implications of the chosen topic.
Language proficiency is another challenge. Expressing complex cause-and-effect relationships
with clarity and precision is essential. Striking a balance between technical accuracy and reader-
friendly language is a delicate art that requires finesse.
In conclusion, composing an essay on cause and effect is a task that demands a blend of research
prowess, analytical thinking, organizational skills, and linguistic finesse. While it may present
challenges, conquering them results in a rewarding exploration of the intricate web of
relationships that shape our world.

Pertains
Medical records refer to data and information that pertains the medical history of
patients. Medical records are an important component of health care as it ensures
that monitoring of patient health is made easier. It is important to document
medical records to be able to manage health and diagnosis of diseases adequately.
According to the Joint Commission, there should be a standard of measure of
recording medical records to facilitate easy retrieval by medical assistants. There are
several approaches to maintaining medical records in a hospital. The standard
methods include paperwork and electronic. All these methods are still usable, but
special care should be made when an organization is shifting from paperwork to
electronic records.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In spite of the fact that these materials may have characterized a legal record in paper
terms (e.g., requiring a medicine sheet as opposed to an electronic prescription
organization record), their definitions must turn into the reason for the association s
legitimate health record definition (Blumenthal Tavenner, 2010).
Make a decision on records generated in the course of diagnosis
The second step is to decide if the records are made by the supplier or facilities
ordinary course of business. Source framework or unprocessed information are the
information from which translations, rundowns, and notes are determined. They
might be assigned some portion of the legitimate health record, regardless of
whether they are incorporated into a solitary framework or kept up as a significant
aspect of the source framework (McGinn et al., 2010).
Records from source frameworks might be considered some portion of the lawful
health record in view of the substance of the origin system s history. Generally,
reports or discoveries whereupon clinical primary leadership is based are parts of the
health record. For instance, the composed consequence of a test, for example, a
3. Jekyll And Mr Hyde Essay
French philosopher Michel Foucault once said If repression has indeed been the
fundamental link between power, knowledge, and sexuality since the classical
age, it stands to reason that we will not be able to free ourselves from it except at a
considerable cost, . This quotation is saying that repression is the reason why
people are not free to express themselves and explore new things. According to
Foucault, the only way to be free involves consequences. In The Strange Case of Dr.
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevensondiscusses the consequences of
repression through his characters Jekyll and Hyde. In this story, Jekyll attempts to
live the suffocating expectations of Victorian society, but he ultimately creates an
alter ego in order to deal with his suffering. This alter ego, Hyde, was created at a

Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Jekyll s id is Mr. Hyde. As stated in an outside source, A study
in dualism: The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Mr. Hyde would seem
easily recognizable as the id, seeking instant gratification, having an aggressive
instinct, and having no moral or social mores that need be followed, (Singh and
Chakrabarti 13). Mr. Hyde as seen multiple times throughout the novel, expresses
one of the components of the id mentioned in the quotation. One example showing
how he lives by no morals or values is when he kill Sir Danvers Carew. Hyde beat
him to death out of impulse when he passed him late at night on the street. This
murder also represents how Mr. Hyde shows aggression. Instant gratification is
seen towards the end of the novel. In chapter 10 Jekyll says My devil had been
long caged, he came out roaring, (Stevenson 92). Hyde could not withhold being
repressed anymore and breaks out without Dr. Jekyll s potion. He does this because
he is looking for pleasure. This relates to Freud s pleasure principle where it is Hyde

4. The Theory Of Multiple Intelligences Theory
What is intelligence? Is it how well an individual can excel at academic tasks,
emotional tasks, or physical tasks? Can intelligence be measure scientifically and
accurately or is it an abstract idea or concept that requires an individual to critically
think and come up with an answer? A common interpretation of intelligenceis the
ability or abilities of an individual s capacity for: logic, emotion, abstract, learning,
planning, understanding, memory, self awareness, creativity, and most important of
all is the ability to problem solved. Intelligence itself is an umbrella with subtypes
under it, and the one to inquire about is the theory of multiple intelligences. Many
scientists believe that this theory does not exist because it cannot be proven
scientifically but multiple intelligence theory does exist. Multiple intelligences is not
a teaching style as many seem to believe, but it is a new way to look at the IQ of an
individual while not being bounded by the traditional IQ tests. Just like general
intelligences theory, the multiple intelligence theory can be used to distinguish
intelligences through tests, logically define theory, as well as real world experiences
and applications. These two theories, multiple and general intelligence, has been
debated time and time again in the field of psychology but with no absolute solution.
The theory of multiple intelligences was originated by Howard E. Gardner and was
publicized in 1983 in his book, Frames of Mind: The Theory of

The fiddle. The violin. For the fiddle a family gathers around the campfire as
Charlie Daniels slaps his knee in a straw hat and plays the Fiddle, while the sound
of the violin fills elegant, royal concert halls. Although these two stringed
instruments seems like they are worlds apart, they are in reality the same. The origin
of the story of the fiddle stretches equally as far back as the violinbecause they are
the same, they have the same past, future and present. The story of the violin is a
long evolution of instruments, the violin or fiddle, in its modern form can be traced
back to Italy in Cremona in the early 1500s. The modern violin was crafted originally
by Andrea Andrea Amati. This string instrument, that is bowed, found... Show more

Potentially, one of the best violinists of all time is known as Midori. Midori is a
Japanese American violinist. She debuted at just the age of 11. She was a featured
soloist at the New Year s Eve gala for the New York Philharmonic. Her career
continued to develop to Tanglewood where she would give her most memorable
performance at Tanglewood. Here at Tanglewood Midori would break the E string
twice. She borrowed two different violins in the performance. This performance
would be embodied by the headline, Girl, 14, Conquers Tanglewood with 3
violins. Midori would later on her 18th birthday debut at Carnegie Hall in an
orchestra, just a year later to make her Carnegie Hall solo debut. Midori, having
seen the problems with music funding in America, created a foundation called
Midori and Friends. This organization would work toward bringing music education
to kids in New York and Japan. While Midori may be one of the most notable concert
violinist, one of the most nationally recognized players of the violin is a fiddler.
Charlie Daniels is widely thought to be one of the best fiddlers of all time. Charlie
Daniels is the head Fiddler/vocalist for the Charlie Daniels Band. They are most
famous for their song The Devil Went Down to Georgia as well as Simple Man. In
The Devil Went Down to Georgia, Charlie Daniel s fiddling is widely regarded as the
best fiddle ever recorded. His career spans all the back to 1964 where he co wrote It

on the Fiddle, Charlie Daniels has recorded guitar and electric bass for three Bob
Dylan albums. His career as a fiddler started around 1973 where he played the fiddle
for many of the Marshall Tucker Band s early songs. Charlie Daniels and Midori are

6. Margaret Atwood Rape Fantasies
From phrases boys will be boys to she was asking for it society creates a blase
approach to the topic of rape and makes people feel ashamed and inadequate when it
does happen. These phrases perpetuate rape culture and makes it possible for this
crime rate to remain high. In 1977, Margaret Atwood published RapeFantasies in
Dancing Girls, a collection of short stories. Atwood spins a story revolving around
one woman, Estelle, and her coworkers. The co workers tell their fantasies about
rape when in actuality it s only anonymous sex and Estelle calls them out on this. She
then tells her fantasies which are about her thwarting the rapist. Rape Fantasies

Estelle, the narrator, contradicts her colleagues by telling them their fantasies are
too safe and sexual to be actual rape fantasies, but her fantasies were a different
kind of safe. They gave Estelle the power and allowed for her to be in control of
the situations. The rapists were very accommodating in that. In her first fantasy,
Estelle thwarts the rapist by using a plastic lemon, but the rapist helps thwart
himself. So I hand it to him and he s very obliging, he twists the top off and hands
it back to me, and I squirt him in the eye (Atwood 105). The rapist is too obliging
in this scenario which shows Estelle s naivety and innocence. Truly, Estelle s
rapists are as unrealistically obliging and polite as her coworkers rapists were
romantically accommodating (Walter). This is done because she does not was to
admit what she fears. Her own mother gave the advice that one shouldn t dwell on
unpleasant things (Atwood 108). Estelle takes this too seriously and in doing so
she makes her fantasies too safe in fear that she won t admit she has. Estelle may
not want to admit it, but she humanized her rapists, so that she does not live in
terror (Walter). The rapists humanization is humorous and this is also a coping
mechanism for Estelle. When describing her boss, Estelle says I m sure he couldn t
rape his way out of a paper bag, poor old thing (Atwood 110).

Most plot related elements pertain to Venom Snake s current affairs. As a

11. The Division and Separation of Power
The Division and Separation of power are essential to keep our societies rulers to
have a restriction on their powers. The importance of each on the Australian domestic
law especially in relation to the rule of law, and protecting individual rights, and the
legal system. The difference between the division and separation of powers is small.
The Division of power is one of the most important aspects of the Constitution. This
role is dividing power between the state and Commonwealth parliaments. This
division is separated into three powers, Residual, Concurrent, and Exclusive. Residual
powers are those powers that the states have in areas such as, health, transport and
policing, concurrent powers are those shared between the commonwealth government
and state governments. Areas such as Medicare funding .The Exclusive powers are
those powers granted only to the Commonwealth of Australia parliament. . Example
in the Commonwealth of Australia Vs. The state of Tasmania (1983) the
commonwealth blocked the state from constructing a hydroelectric dam in the world
heritage listed Gordon river. The state claimed it was unconstitutional for the
commonwealth to block the dam because power generation was an area of state
responsibility. The commonwealth then argued that it did have power to block
construction because Australia was signatory to the convention for the protection of
the world cultural and natural heritage (1972) it argued that because this international
agreement stipulated
12. The Cause Of Juvenile Delinquency
Juvenile Delinquency has been an issue in sociological and criminological context
for decades. It is basically at state when a person who is under the age of 18 years
is antisocial and has a criminal behavior. It has become a major social problem in the
youth that is attracting a lot of youths to get into crimes. Many researches have been
done to find the cause of juvenile delinquency. Sociologists explain this context
using different theories. While investigating about the cause of juvenile
delinquency theorists come up with the factors associated with it such as racial
status, gender discrimination and the economic status. Childhood assaults are also
seen as one of the factors that can be in the form of sexual abuse or physical abuse
faced by the child either in their family environment or the school environment.
Peer pressure as examined by many theorists provides a wide area for the juvenile
crimes to occur. The delinquent youth lack ethical standards and emotional feelings.
Impulsivity, social insensitivity and lack of guilt feeling make them perform
socially unacceptable behavior. They lose the ability to choose what is right and
what is wrong. Juvenile delinquency rates take a rise when young people see their
fellow members of society as offenders. The way of them being viewed as criminals
in the society makes them more prone to become delinquents. The paper discusses
about the cause of juvenile delinquency and the problems that arise due to it. Later it
would focus on two sociological theories that would evaluate the criminal
phenomenon.
In the criminal justice system juvenile delinquency is one of the highly rated
problem. It is the society itself that can increase the juvenile delinquency rates and on
the other hand they are the ones who can help deal this problem by reducing the crime
. Among 1755 young students surveyed in Portugal, 29.4% reported they had
committed at least one offence in their life time (Cardoso, Perista, Carrilho Silva,
2013, p. 520). The problem arises when the adolescents or young people are unable
to achieve their dreams, than they try to take the path of crime by using illegal means
to reach their expectations.
The probability of juvenile delinquency to take place

Ambition is the desire and determination to achieve success. It is something that
every person should have to live fulfilling lives, but too much of it can be

ambitions that are big will lead that person to a life of success and happiness.
However others might say that those big ambitions can only lead someone to a life

The novel Disgrace by J. M. Coetzee presents two rapes the rape of Lucy by three
unidentified men and David s rape of Melanie, his college student. These rapes are
both unresolved. Coetzee writes about these two rapes to demonstrate the ways in
which men dominate and control women in the South African society.
It is deeply saddening that the rapes that occurred in the book are both left
unresolved. Although, they both end in different ways, the case of Melanie who was
victimized by David Lurie was not exactly a vicious or violent rape. It seems as
though Melanie may have felt that she should agree with the matter at hand or else
she would have to face consequences for disobeying David s request. It almost feels
as though Melanie is providing her consent for such actions. Lucy s rape is the
complete opposite; she is raped by a gang in her own home and has to suffer the
embarrassment of her father David knowing all the horrible details. In both cases,
the men got away with the rapes because they took place in a post apartheid South
African society. A post apartheid South African society is a rigid former policy
consisting of segregation as well as economic and political oppression towards the
nonwhite population.
David never acknowledged the rape of Melanie; he knew that the sexual relationship
was unwanted by her, but refused to recognize the action as a rape in itself. In the
book Disgrace it

My vision of the social work field is being able to help people in need and being
the person that people can look back on and remember as a huge help in time of
need. I think my core values and beliefs will help me be an effective social worker
and help me succeed in this field. It is in my belief that a person should never be
knocked down when they are going through hardships, and rather empowering
them. I also believe that not everyone could be a social worker because it takes a
certain kind of empathetic and self aware person. I truly believe that my
upbringing has humbled me to understand and not be judgmental of people s
issues since I ve seen a lot in my short twenty one years. I think a core value that
aligns and is very useful in the field that I acquire is being aware of a person s
dignity and worth. I am the kind of person that treats a very wealthy person and a
homeless person equally, I don t believe that people are better than others in any
circumstance. I also grew up in an extremely diverse community which has allowed
me to think broadly and not have a person s culture, ethnicity, or other differences
effect my perception of them. Social workers treat each person in a caring and
respectful fashion, mindful of individual differences and cultural and ethnic diversity
(NASW, 2008). I think this is one of the most important values in social workbecause
a worker simply cannot provide the best service if their differences can t be put to the
side. I believe

The comparison of internal and external conflicts and their affects on lives.
Essay? HOOK:
The story Blue Winds Dancing by Thomas S. Whitecloud demonstrates the
experience of a native man transitioning to his life into a white society. It exhibits
the internal and external struggles in the native s life that he encounters throughout
his life. However, the native is an outcast and has a longing to go back to his native
reserve. In comparison, Angel Levine by Bernard Malamud describes the life of a
Jewish man, named Manischevitz, who lost everything: his children, his business,
and his wife because of her fatal illness. He reaches out to God, but there is no
response which also leads him to lose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Manischevitz is distraught when a Black Angel appears to help, and he realises that
all hope is lost. This negatively affects Mr. Manischevitz because he seeks
affirmation from God, although, he does not believe in the black angel s powers.
This leads Manischevitz down a spiral where he smote to the naked bones, cursing
himself for having believed in God to help him in his time of need. On the other hand,
in Blue Winds Dancing, the native also undergoes an internal conflict; the native feels
alone and lost in the White world. He feels like an outsider with no place in the
white world that he desperately wants to accept him. The native compares himself
to a hobo because they both are outsiders because they cherish different things from
a typical white man. Additionally, the native in the story does not have a name to
symbolize that his experience is very similar to many other natives who want to be
apart of the white world. Overall, the native is having an Identity crisis because he
does not know whether to acculturate and become like every other white man or go
back to the blanket because it is familiar to him. He longs for home because he does
not agree with the white man s customs of getting a hill and wanting a mountain . He
wants to return back home where people can be free and the native can truly be
himself. These internal conflicts are similar because both protagonists encounter
identity crises which cause them to seek affirmation in their faith

Houston, Texas, a 27 year old male, Paul Broussard, died in a gay bashing brawl
outside of a Houston nightclub on July 4th, 1991. A group of high school
sophomores and juniors and one 22 year old were drinking and taking drugs when
they decided to gain entry into a dance club in the Montrose area. (Harris 12). After
being denied entry into the club, the group pulled into a parking lot where they say
Broussard and two friends. Not many words were exchanged. The group then
attacked Broussard, stabbed him twice and continued to beat him for several
hours. (Harris 15). The cause of Broussard s death was the stabbing but it also
came to light that the delay in treatment was a cause of death as well. Police in the

afraid that if they responded to calls in the Montrose area, that they would be

members of the LGBT community often clubbed in this area. Police left Broussard

21. Equality 7-2521 Quotes
In the book Anthem, we learn that people live in a collectivist society where they
are the great We and the only We. This kind of society oppresses man s inborn
thirst for knowledge and creativity, although one character still possesses the want
for knowledge. Equality 7 2521 is the man cursed with the nature to want to know
more, even though he is lashed he still persists on his quest for knowledge. What is
Equality s motivation if not for joy, and it is not for the greater good for mankind?
The simple answer may be curiosity, for no punishment could change him from
wanting to know. Equality is motivated for multiple reasons, one being curiosity,
the desire to create something to call his own, and to be part of the council of
scholars. Curiosity killed the cat, but it is also the reason we are so technologically
advanced today. A society without curiosity would have no will, no drive, and people
would wander around without meaning. This trait, curiosity, is the basis of mankind.
As shown in the book, Equality possessed curiosity. He said, But we loved the
Science of Things. We wished to know. We wished to know about all the things which
make the earth around us. We asked so many questions that the Teachers forbade it.

22. Theme Of Barbie Doll And The Death Of Marilyn Monroie
Poetry has a way of expressing its rage, grief, and irony at society and its social
pressures. Although each poem is different, they can carry a similar message that
resonance with its audience. Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy and The Death of
Marilyn Monroe by Sharon Olds express how beauty weighs women s lives and
cause a tragic end from being the perfect specimen. Both discuss a similar theme but
carry the message out a difference way. In order to understand its similarities and
differences it is necessary to analyze the text to find its denotation and connotation.

Both poems use names from iconic beauty icons. Barbies are seen by little girls and
are the first things to influence how they should define beauty. Normally the dolls
have skinny bodies and small noses and are able to have multiple careers and are
admired by men. Thus, little girls grow up wanting to be like Barbie. Marilyn
Monroe is a sex icon who looks other women began to copy. Unlike Barbie she was
curvy and had an acting career, but she was also adored by men. Both icons
influenced women on how to look and impress men, but the influence becomes
problematic and difficult to maintain because only dolls and superstars to can
survive that life. Even idols cannot survive that life, as proven by Monroe. Only
Barbie, an object can be seen as the perfect woman. Both poems use these names to
highlight how impossible it is for women to seen as normal or to be accepted as
they are. Thus, an early death can happen when the pressure is too much to handle
and each poem has a tone of sadness at both women s death. However, the Death of
Marilyn Monroe encourages women to live and not be like the icons they admire,
while Barbie Doll see s it fit to strive for beauty until the

Gothic style came about in the middle of the twelfth century. It was named after the
Goths that controlled France during that time. It was developed as a result of
Christian ideals. Christian leaders wanted big, tall, ornate churches to represent their
strong faith. Later it was also used for non religious buildings such as castles, walls,
bridges, and gates. Citizens of the time period wanted striking, rich looking churches
to represent their success and wealth, also leading to Gothic style. Common Gothic

In the Middle Ages The Black Plague hit the population. Because of a declining
population, other aspects of life were affected negatively such as agriculture and
politics. The Renaissance, however, saw a turn around for Europe. There were new
beginnings in the government and the life of it s citizens. There was a major culture
shift from the 14th to the 16th century. In the Middle Ages, many people were
suffering from disease and starvation. It was not a stable time for Europe. The
Hundred Year s War compounded their problems. Europeans lost faith in the church
resulting in a decline of religious faiths. There were a large amount of Popes going
through the Catholic Church during that time known as the Great Schism. The
Schism lasted for forty years and resulted from financial mismanagement in the
church. The Renaissance was an opportunity to reform European society. Humanism
became a common philosophy. Individualism and education were now important.
Life did not revolve around religion and the church had less power. More people saw
themselves as a greater being than God. The influence of Renaissance Architecture on
the rest of the world was significant. There are many government buildings in North
American that are modeled after the classical, symmetrical lines of the Renaissance
period. Modern architects still study and try to reproduce the beauty, simplicity, and
magnificence of Renaissance

I am Sam I am Sam is a 2001 American drama film written and directed by Jessie
Nelson, starring Sean Penn as Sam who has an intellectual disability that had sole
care for his daughter Lucy Diamond played by Dakota Fanning. The two of them
encounter problems with the Department of Child and Family Services as they
believe the presence of Sam s intellectual disability negates his ability to parent. A
lawyer Rita Harrison played by Michelle Pfeiffer plays an important role in this
film as she is the only one to have belief in Sam s ability to parent. This M rated
film has won awards such as the Stanley Kramer award for their ability to place an
emphasis on social concerns. People with disabilities are often discriminated
against the rest of society as a result of their impairments. Jessie Nelson s use of
mis en scene and semiotic elements engage the members of the audience to
position them to have their own perspective of Sam s situation as presented. The
scene that I have chosen to analyse approaches the climax of the film where
problems begin to arise between Sam and Lucy as the department of Child and
Family Services believe Sam is an unfit parent. This has come to attention as Lucy
is becoming smarter surpassing Sam s intellectual ability. Although Sean Penn is far
from being limited in his ability to express himself, he was able to convey such a
condition with precise detail used in his body expressions and dialogue in a complex
manner. This would not have been

Jessica is directly liable for causing the accident and has to be held to the legal
standards for her actions of reckless driving. WV Steel has will be held liable as
the employer of Jessica Smith and of ultimately approving of her trip to attend the

actions. If an agent or employee commits a tort while pursuing his or her own
interests, the tort is not within the scope of the agency or employment, and neither
the principal nor the employer would be liable. (J., amp; D., 2010) Since this was
not the case with Jessica, liability falls on both parties. There is definite impact of
this type of legal issue to small and large businesses. Company s insurance
premiums go up across the board and typically business will incur large legal fees
that need to be paid for. Additionally bad press coverage could have a negative
effect on the company s bottom line. Scenario 2 Larry Johnson crashed his four

What is the role of large corporations under repressive regime? Do they engage in
criminal activities? If yes, how should they be included in a process of transitional
justice? The purpose of this work is to establish the links between the business
world and transitional justice mechanisms. My purpose is more specifically to link
the potential crimes perpetrated by corporations and the transitional justice
mechanisms. This work does not link the transitional justice field to a defined field
of research. Corporate responsibility or accountability is a concept coming from
law and business literature. For the United Nations, transitional justice is the full
range of processes and mechanisms associated with a society s attempt to come to
terms with a legacy of large scale past abuses, in order to ensure accountability,
serve justice and achieve reconciliation. The vast majority of the literature
discussing transitional justice focuses on individuals or states, not collective
organizations. Mechanisms of transitional justice are fourfold and include: a justice
process, a reparation process, a truth process and a stabilization process. All these 4
processes are studied as either applying to individuals or state. However, in many
cases the responsibility of individuals is related to the collective responsibility of a
group or an organization other than the state. The objective of this work is to try to
connect the role of businesses and transitional justice mechanisms. The

A leader is someone who timelessly practice guiding others in pursuit of a goal, or

leaders and inspirational person is Michelle Lavaughn Robinson Obama, former First
Lady and married to Barack Obama, the former 44th President of the United States.
During her time as an attorney and First Lady, Mrs. Obama has been an advocate for
women s rights, poverty awareness, a mentor, a supporter of military families, healthy

Michelle Obama is the topic of this research for she is a role model and inspiration

29. Character Changes By Ebenezer Scrooge
Ebenezer Scrooge wasn t the most pleasant name to hear, the no good miser would
do the most horrible things, like yelling at carolers, refusing to spend time with
family, or even give to the needy. But now, the past, present and future are going to
meet up to him and he is going to have to change, and he will have to see the fault in
his actions.
To start off, in many instances Scrooge showed what type of person he is, even at
the beginning of the play his old friend Marley described him as a wrenching,
grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner! (paragraph 4 page 236)
Which doesn t seem like a way you would describe an old friend even if you are
dead, unless the facts are undoubtedly true. However this isn t the only occurrence
in the play makes us see how Scrooge should change his ways, we see Scrooge at
the beginning sitting alone counting his money saying, They owe me money and I
will collect. I will have them jailed, if I have to. (paragraph 6 page 236) This shows
how Scrooge has no tolerance for anything, although this can be good in some
cases, others it isn t the best way to treat people. Especially if you take such
extreme measures very quickly, like sending someone to jail or example. But this is
all about to change, because Scrooge needs to get better, he needs to learn how to
treat people.
One wintry night before Christmas he came face to face with his dead friend warning
him of three ghosts on their way to greet him, the ghosts of Christmas past,
30. Symbols In The Pit And The Pendulum
In Edgar Allan Poe s The Pit and the Pendulum, there were setting and some
symbols. The theme would be that it is impossible to stop time and as the final
outcome of life would be death. To support this in the story, there are two main
symbols throughout which are the pit which symbolizes hell or death, and the
pendulum is another symbol that represent time. The setting sets up the story line
because depending where the story is set, the characters act a certain way. Like this
story is set up in an cell and the characteralways feels like he is gonna die from
anything that appears. First, the setting in the story impacts the character s action.
The story starts off with the narrator being sentenced to death. The narrator lost
consciousness and woke up back in a prison cell. Everytime he would fall asleep,
and wake up a loaf and a pitcher of water would be next to him. Since, he has been
in a unknown place and dark, he went to count his steps, and find how big the place
was. When he fell asleep again, he found the loaf and water, but this time the water
was drugged. Which is shown when he said A deep sleep fell upon me a sleep like
that of death (Poe 10). He knew that he was sentenced to death and kept thinking of
the moment when he would die and the situations,... Show more content on

Timing of senescence can lead to overall yield decline, especially if it occurs during
a critical period like grain filling. In the present study, we shed light on addressing
problems associated with early senescence, through characterization of microbial
communities in the rhizosphere of rice isogenic lines at grain filling stage. We further
correlated some physiological traits associated with early senescence and the
identified root microbiome. Our results are unique in that they revealed that changes
in plant genotype related to senescence may shape the root microbiome, in addition
the combined action of genotype and pH interactions is assumed to drive microbial

The actual cause of pH rise in mutant soil samples is not studied but is assumed to
be related to the genotype. However, Hacquard et al. (2015) reported that it is
difficult to unravel the actual contribution of pH on the overall community structure
owing to likely interaction with numerous other factors. Moreover, another study
proposed that many types of bacteria, in both the gut and the soil, are sensitive to
pH, and this is thought to structure communities to a large extend (Duncan et. al.,
2009). Similarly, Dix and Webster (1995) reported that soil pH may directly
influence fungal community composition by creating a physiological limitation on
fungal survival and growth and some fungal taxa may be unable to grow or survive
if the soil pH falls outside a certain range, moreover, fungi generally grow well in
acidic conditions. However, some fungi develop well in neutral to slightly alkaline
conditions (Warcup, 1951; Yamanaka, 2003). Our results are in consistent with those
from the previous studies, in that the pH was slightly alkaline for esl mutant soil
samples than those of the wild type variety. This observation implies that some
members in the same taxa may have different pH preferences.
Plants can adjust their rhizosphere in a host dependent manner where each plant
species stimulates a group of rhizosphere microbes (Aira et al. 2010; Turner et al.

Living in an advanced world, Joe Chip, who is always looking for coins to access
places, learns the power of money that can either provide opportunities or put
characters at risk. Throughout Philip K. Dick s Ubik, the recurring theme of money
greatly influences characters and causes them to act ambitiously. The desire to gain
wealth play a major role which becomes the driving force of many events in the
story. Characters perceive others based on their social statusand treat them
accordingly. Richer characters get better quality services and poorer characters
receive basic services. Furthermore, Dick incorporated advertisements as a way of
communication between characters, which is similar to the way businesses
communicate the value of products to attract customers. Money affects the way
characters act and how the events are played out throughout the story, which speaks
to readers about the corruptions in the reality of social structure. Large corporations
are willing to commit crimes to bring other companies to the bottom of the corporate

This essay will explore the argument that international terrorism represents the
greatest threat to the security of the United Kingdom. It will begin by defining,
within the context of this essay, what is meant by the concepts of national security,
terrorism and international terrorism, and how international terrorismthreatens our
nation through both direct and indirect means. Throughout, it will identify a snapshot
of the current gamut of security threats to the United Kingdom and analyse, through
these threats, how international terrorism poses the most substantial menace to the
security of the United Kingdom. To the military minded individual, it could appear
that the notion of national security is limited to the threat posed by physically
violent or military action. However, as a matter of policy, the United Kingdom
defines national security as the security and well being of the United Kingdom as
a whole (REF). This includes the security of the nation s social security, economic
stability, power of diplomatic influence, and the physical security and well being of
the United Kingdom s population. Terrorist activity is no longer limited to direct
physical attacks on the state in order to achieve their cause and as will be explored
further in this essay, threats to national security are evolving into more indirect
methods in order to undermine the nation s well being. For way of definition, and
for the purpose of this article, terrorism can be described as the use

Proceeding the Russian Revolution, homosexuals were always seen as the unruly

There are three methods of job based evaluation: the point method (which is the
most commonly used); ranking; and classification. Job evaluation helps to ensure
that pay is internally aligned and perceived to be fair by employees. Step 3: Pay
Policy Identification Pay policy identification is the process of determining
whether the organization wants to lead, lag or meet the market in compensation.
The pay policy or strategy will likely influence employee attraction and retention.
Pay policies can vary across job families (i.e., groups of similar jobs) and job levels
if the top management feels that different strategies can be effective in different
areas of the organization. Step 4: Pay Survey Analysis Pay survey analysis is the
process of analyzing compensation data gathered from other employers in a survey
of the relevant labor market. Gathering external pay data (e.g., base pay, bonuses,
stock options and benefits) is essential to keep the organization s compensation
externally competitive within its industry. Employee attraction and retention can be
improved by maintaining externally aligned pay structures. Step 5: Pay Structure
Creation Pay structure creation is the final step, in which the internal structure (Step
2) is merged with the external market pay rates (Step 4) in a simple regression to
develop a market pay line. Depending on whether the organization wants to lead, lag
or meet the market, the market pay line can be adjusted up or

thought and order towards new democratic ideas and systems of rule. This period

As. Michel Lynch states: It was the great issue that defined settlement , or peace in
this case. One group challenging this were the True Levellers mockingly known as
Diggers: With beliefs in equality, community and true religion for all they argued
that land was a common treasury and lived in communes detached from society.
The most famous commune was on St George s Hill, where common land was

and supported from the Bible were radical in that they directly threatened the gentry
and the landowners. As Michel Lynch states they . were regarded as an intolerable

heavy drinking and frequent blaspheming , usurping land laws and ownership.
Reactions and accusations followed that they were Drunk on the Bible , thus
dramatising many aspects of Digger practice. Just how seriously they challenged
established order was evident in violent clashes that culminated in their removal
under Cromwell s orders Lynch further poses an interesting idea that In an exact
sense they were communists . He is suggesting that here may lie the original seeds
that led to later Communism. That the first statue of Winstanly was erected in Russia

in which dominant European powers Portugal and Spainconducted forms of active
exploration and exploitation of the New World. Distinctly, for the reasons of,
accumulation of land, wealth, and political power through means of exploiting its
colonies resources. Virtually, England sought to mimic the Spanish economic success
in their own Caribbean exploits. In contrast to the ways in which the Spanish pursued
their own economic goals. The English economic success, relied on private
companies to carry out commercial and colonial efforts . To emphasize, this meant
that private men and companies secured the right from the crown to claim and settle
islands in the Caribbean. Notably, these private men and companies advantageous
socio economic status, consequently began to formulate the make up of the social
stratificationin the English colonies. Where social stratification refers to the persistent
patterns of social inequalities within a society. Essentially, the colonies operated on
40. Essay on Endosymbiosis
Endosymbiosis
Endosymbiosis is the theory that eukaryotic cells were formed when a prokaryotic
cell ingested some aerobic bacteria. The first step of the evolution of a eukaryotic
cell is the infolding of the cellular membrane. This process takes place when the
plasma membrane folds inwards and develops an envelope around a smaller
prokaryotic cell. Once the smaller cell is engulfed, it becomes dependent upon its host
cell. It relies on the host cell for organic molecules and inorganic compounds.
However, the host cell also benefits because it has an increased output of ATP for
cellular activities and becomes more productive. This ATP comes from the
mitochondrion (the aerobe) that is engulfed.

The protein synthesizing machinery in mitochondria and chloroplasts resemble
prokaryotes. This is shown through their ribosomal RNA and the structure of the
ribosomes. The ribosomes are similar in size and structure to bacterial ribosomes.
fMat is always the first amino acid that is in the mitochondria and chloroplasts
transcripts. The antibiotics that act by blocking protein synthesis in bacteria also
block protein synthesis in mitochondria and chloroplasts. These antibiotics do not
interfere with protein synthesis in the cytoplasm of the eukaryotes. The inhibitors
that effect the protein synthesis of eukaryotic ribosomes do not change the protein
synthesis of the bacteria, mitochondria, or chloroplasts.
Mitochondria and chloroplasts have two membranes that surround them. The inner
membrane is probably from the engulfed bacterium and this is supported by that the
enzymes and proteins are most like their counterparts in prokaryotes. The outer
membrane is formed from the plasma membrane or endoplasmic reticulum of the host
cell. The electron transport enzymes and the H+ ATPase are only found in the
mitochondria and chloroplasts of the eukaryotic cell. (2)
Currently, there are two major competing theories for the endosymbiotic origin of
eukaryotic cells. The first theory claims that the eukaryotic cell is a combination of
an archaeon with a
41. Motorhome Case Study
Deputy Franco #0066 and I were in the marked sheriff s unit when we observed the
motorhome driving southbound on Hilltop. We pulled behind the vehicle and
noticed that the registration sticker appeared to be orange, which would have been
for a license expiring in the year 2013. We decided to stop the vehicle to investigate
a violation of California Vehicle Code section 4000 (a)(1), expired registration, so
Deputy Franco activated the overhead lights as the vehicle turned westbound on
Naples. After Deputy Franco activated the overhead lights the vehicle failed to yield.
Deputy Franco activated the siren, but instead of yielding, the motorhome turned
southbound on into the 1100 block of Dixon drive and drove halfway down the
block, passing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The suspected methamphetamine later showed a positive presumptive test for the
presence of amphetamine using a NARK II test kit and had a net weight of .5
grams. The syringes and suspected methamphetamine were later placed into
evidence at the Rancho San Diego station. On a bottom shelf near the bed I found
a large spoon on which was a small piece of cotton and brown residue consistent
with heroin. The substance later showed a positive presumptive test for heroin
using a NARK II test kit, and although I could not get a net weight on it, it was a
useable amount based on my training and experience. I collected the suspected
heroin and later placed it into evidence at the Rancho San Diego station. The
syringes and suspected heroin with spoon were not stored in a normal kit used by
heroin users. Additionally the amount of heroin left on the spoon was a useable
amount, which I have never seen left on a spoon that was being stored, leading me
to believe the items were hidden quickly when we conducted the traffic stop. Since
Arenas was driving the vehicle I believe Espinoza hid the heroin and
42. The Protestant Reformation And The Protestant
Reformation
Both the Protestant Reformation as well as the Inquisition made immense impacts on
the religious society of western civilizations in Europe during 16th century. Both of
the very important movements changed the regular Roman Catholic churches
forever. The Protestant Reformation was a movement when groups of people left the
Roman Catholic churchin hope for a change. This schism was run by Martin Luther
and other protestant reformers during the 1500 s and 1600 s. Another movement that
changed the Catholic church forever is the Inquisition, which lasted roughly 700
years. The Inquisition was a time of punishing heretics, or people who were guilty of
heresy. Historians can agree that Christians were growing impatient with the Roman
Catholic churchand wanted change from within the religion. Citizens of the time
did not agree with many of the actions of the church and found them absurd. Many
reformers of the time saw that priests neglected their duties of the church, and took
their power to another level. Popes and members of the clergy lived very expensive
life styles, and the church would have very ornate and elaborate paintings which
would cost a fortune. To pay for these fees, the church increased the prices of
marriages and baptisms and promoted indulgences, which was a payment
demolishing your sins granting people Tickets to Heaven . The official spark of the
Protestant Revolution was when Martin Luther plastered his 95 Thesis on the door of
the Roman
