2. Employees state insurance act 1948
• The Employees state Insurance act,1948 is benefits
and social legislation.
• Its main aim is to provide economics security to
people who work in certain factories and
establishments.
• It provides for payment of benefits to workers in
cases of sickness, maternity , injury etc.
3. SICKNESS
Sickness benefits in the form of cash compensation at the
rate of 70 per cent of wages is playable to insured workers
during the periods of certified sickness for a maximum of 91
days in a year. In order to qualify for sickness benefits the
insured workers is required to contributes for 78 days in a
contribution period of 6 months.
4. Dependent Benefits
Dependents benefits is paid as family
pension to the dependants of a deceased
insured person in the event of death due
to employment injury or occupational
disease and is equivalent to about 70% of
the wages.
5. FUNERAL EXPENSES
An amount of Rs.15,000/- is payable
to the dependent or to the person
who performs last rites from day one
of entering insurable employment.
6. DISABLEMENT BENEFIT
Disablement Benefits is admissible for
disablement caused by employment injury. At
the first instance, Temporary disablement
benefits is payable as long as the temporary
disability, permanent disablement benefit is
payable till the death disablement is payable all
the insured person.
