The American Honey Bee Protection Agency (AHBPA) joined forces with city officials in San Antonio to rescue a busy beehive in the Five Points neighborhood. The tree containing the hive was rotten and the bees were at risk. The AHBPA examined the health of the bees and wanted to preserve them rather than kill them. At the end of March, the city government and AHBPA worked together to successfully remove the hive while preserving as much of the tree as possible. The bees will be relocated to help test and preserve the bee population.
