2. Kalju Tuulik - a man who knows the soul of a tree
Wood craftsman
3. Kalju Tuulik: “Some people say that Muhulans do not
accept strangers. I think whoever is the person can get
through everywhere, but they still have to be able to say
hello”.
People could notice the heart of the disability more. From
the trunks of the trees in Muhu, Kalju has cut the washer,
numbered it and placed it on a heart-shaped base. A list
of these trees is also available.
4. At the request of choir director Anne Kannu, Kalju made album covers. To the
Muhu hunting society, which tidied up the old house on the border, the master
craftsman gave a large table with two legs from the wild in the middle, a dog
and a hunting trunk at each end.
5. An excerpt from an interview with
Saarema resident Kaisa Treier.
“We find coffins from juniper washes in
the bedrooms, but the most magnificent,
large coffin stands in the hallway. It was a
real challenge for the master, because all
the washers have to be made, fitted and
fastened separately, and sometimes on a
curved surface,"
6. Other works by Kalju…
Kalju made washer-technique table, boxes,
sailors' sauce box, curtain rods, 9 m2 floor, a
large table in the hallway, etc. have been
completed by the carpenter.
