  upon

  a	
  farm	
  
and	
  on	
  that	
  farm	
  lived	
  a	
  li#le	
  red	
  hen,	
  a	
  
turkey,	
  a	
  dog,	
  a	
  cat,	
  a	
  pig,	
  and	
  a	
  mean	
  
farmer	
  .	
  The	
  farmer	
  was	
  so	
  mean	
  he	
  just	
  
stayed	
  in	
  his	
  house	
  .	
  He	
  made	
  his	
  sweet	
  
daughter	
  go	
  feed	
  the	
  animals	
  .	
  His	
  
daughter	
  was	
  very	
  kind	
  natured.	
  She	
  
went	
  to	
  go	
  see	
  the	
  animals	
  as	
  much	
  as	
  
she	
  could.	
  One	
  9me	
  she	
  gave	
  the	
  li#le	
  
red	
  hen	
  some	
  wheat.	
  The	
  hen	
  was	
  so	
  
happy	
  she	
  jumped	
  in	
  the	
  air.	
  	
  	
  
The	
  li#le	
  red	
  hen	
  asked	
  turkey,	
  
“Would	
  you	
  help	
  me	
  plant	
  some	
  
wheat?	
  It	
  will	
  be	
  fun	
  and	
  you	
  will	
  
get	
  an	
  award	
  of	
  having	
  some	
  bread	
  
with	
  me	
  when	
  we	
  are	
  finished	
  and	
  
the	
  bread	
  is	
  made.”

  wheat?

  bake	
  
      it	
  into	
  bread	
  and	
  eat	
  it

      pleaded

  beauty	
  rest

  Ask	
  dog,”

 insisted.

  doesn’t

  to	
  be	
  working,”

  mumbled	
  under	
  her	
  
 breath

  you	
  said?”	
  Cat	
  
ques9oned	
  in	
  a	
  suspicious	
  
tone.	
  

 “Ah,	
  nothing.	
  Goodbye,”	
  
 Li#le

  hen	
  was	
  off	
  to	
  see	
  
 dog.	
  
She	
  found	
  dog	
  siTng	
  in	
  a	
  shed,	
  
chewing	
  on	
  a	
  bone	
  she	
  hoped	
  
was	
  not	
  a	
  chicken	
  bone.	
  Around	
  
his	
  shed	
  were	
  flowers,	
  but	
  they	
  
were	
  dead.	
  
Dog	
  will	
  you….?”	
  But	
  dog	
  
didn’t	
  let	
  her	
  finish.	
  
“You	
  know	
  whatever	
  you	
  ask	
  I	
  
will	
  say	
  no	
  so	
  go	
  ask	
  pig.”	
  
Li#le	
  red	
  hen	
  went	
  to	
  the	
  pig	
  
pen	
  to	
  find	
  a	
  chubby	
  pig	
  
sleeping	
  in	
  the	
  mud.	
  

Li#le	
  red	
  hen	
  pecked	
  his	
  leg	
  
and	
  he	
  got	
  up	
  slowly.	
  
Before	
  he	
  would	
  fall	
  asleep	
  again	
  
she	
  quickly	
  asked,	
  “Can	
  you	
  help	
  
me.”	
  
“No!”	
  Then	
  he	
  was	
  in	
  a	
  dead	
  
sleep.	
  
  “Fine,	
  than	
  I	
  will	
  do	
  it	
  all	
  by	
  my	
  
  self.”	
  And	
  that	
  she	
  did.	
  
  She	
  leZ	
  the	
  flour	
  at	
  the	
  
  farmers	
  door	
  and	
  the	
  next	
  
  morning	
  it	
  was	
  baked	
  into	
  
  bread.	
  Li#le	
  red	
  hen	
  cut	
  the	
  
  loaf	
  of	
  bread	
  into	
  two	
  and	
  leZ	
  
  the	
  other	
  half	
  on	
  the	
  door	
  
  step.	
  
The	
  animals	
  must	
  have	
  smelled	
  
the	
  bread	
  because	
  all	
  the	
  
animals	
  came	
  out	
  of	
  nowhere.	
  	
  

“Umm,	
  who	
  will	
  help	
  me	
  eat	
  
this	
  bread?”	
  Li#le	
  red	
  hen	
  
ques9oned.	
  

  “I	
  will!”	
  said	
  the	
  animals	
  
  simultaneously.	
  

    “No,	
  I	
  will!”	
  And	
  she	
  ate	
  
    the	
  bread.

     Once  upon  a  9me  there  was  a  farm   and  on  that  farm  lived  a  li#le  red  hen,  a   turkey,  a  dog,  a  cat,  a  pig,  and  a  mean   farmer  .  The  farmer  was  so  mean  he  just   stayed  in  his  house  .  He  made  his  sweet   daughter  go  feed  the  animals  .  His   daughter  was  very  kind  natured.  She   went  to  go  see  the  animals  as  much  as   she  could.  One  9me  she  gave  the  li#le   red  hen  some  wheat.  The  hen  was  so   happy  she  jumped  in  the  air.

    The  li#le  red  hen  asked  turkey,   “Would  you  help  me  plant  some   wheat?  It  will  be  fun  and  you  will   get  an  award  of  having  some  bread   with  me  when  we  are  finished  and   the  bread  is  made.”  Li#le  red  hen   asked.                                                                                                                 “Nah,  don’t  feel  like  it.  Ask  cat”   Turkey  responded.   “Cat  will  you  please  help  me   plant  my  wheat?  We  can  bake   it  into  bread  and  eat  it   together,”  Li#le  red  hen   pleaded  .

    “No!  I  need  beauty  rest  to   stay  beau9ful.  Ask  dog,”  Cat   insisted.   “That  beauty  sleep  doesn’t   seem  to  be  working,”  Li#le   red  hen  mumbled  under  her   breath  .   “What  was  that  you  said?”  Cat   ques9oned  in  a  suspicious   tone.   “Ah,  nothing.  Goodbye,”   Li#le  red  hen  was  off  to  see   dog.

    She  found  dog  siTng  in  a  shed,   chewing  on  a  bone  she  hoped   was  not  a  chicken  bone.  Around   his  shed  were  flowers,  but  they   were  dead.   Dog  will  you….?”  But  dog   didn’t  let  her  finish.   “You  know  whatever  you  ask  I   will  say  no  so  go  ask  pig.”   Li#le  red  hen  went  to  the  pig   pen  to  find  a  chubby  pig   sleeping  in  the  mud.   Li#le  red  hen  pecked  his  leg   and  he  got  up  slowly.

    Before  he  would  fall  asleep  again   she  quickly  asked,  “Can  you  help   me.”   “No!”  Then  he  was  in  a  dead   sleep.   “Fine,  than  I  will  do  it  all  by  my   self.”  And  that  she  did.   She  leZ  the  flour  at  the   farmers  door  and  the  next   morning  it  was  baked  into   bread.  Li#le  red  hen  cut  the   loaf  of  bread  into  two  and  leZ   the  other  half  on  the  door   step.

    The  animals  must  have  smelled   the  bread  because  all  the   animals  came  out  of  nowhere.     “Umm,  who  will  help  me  eat   this  bread?”  Li#le  red  hen   ques9oned.   “I  will!”  said  the  animals   simultaneously.   “No,  I  will!”  And  she  ate   the  bread.   The  End
