3. What is Computer?
 A Computer is an electric device that
manipulates information (collection of facts)
or data.
 A Computer is an electronic machine that
can solve different problems, process data, store & retrieve data and perform
calculations faster and efficiently than humans.
 A computer is an electronic machine that can store and deal with large amounts of
information.

 The necessary items for a particular purpose.
 Anything kept, furnished, or provided for a specific purpose.

 Used to enter information into the computer and for giving commands.

7. Printer
 An output device that produces a hard copy on paper. It gives information to
the user in printed form.

 Allows the user to record sounds as input to their computer.

Processor
 It is a small chip to receive input and provide the appropriate out put.
 A processor is an integrated electronic circuit that performs the calculations
that run a computer.

12. 2. Main memory or RAM (random access
memory)
 main memory, primary memory, or system memory, Random Access
Memory (RAM) is a hardware device that allows information to be stored and
retrieved on a computer.
 RAM is the temporary workspace where instructions are executed and data
are processed.
 RAM is a computer’s temporary memory,
which exists as chips on the motherboard near
the CPU. It stores data or programs while they are
being used and requires power.

13. Secondary memory or Hard Disk
 Secondary memory is where programs and data are kept on a long-term
basis.
 Magnetic storage device in the computer.

14. Input devices
 An input device is a hardware or peripheral device used to send data to a
computer.
 An input device is any device that provides input (data) to a computer.
 A component or peripheral device (mouse, keyboard) that feed data or
instruction into a computer for display, processing, storage, or outputting or
transmission.

15. Output devices
 An output device is any device used to send data from a computer to
another device or user.
 Any device capable of representing information from a computer. This
includes display screens, printers, plotters, and synthesizers.
