Diane Fine's upcoming exhibit at the Joseph C. and Joan T. Burke Gallery will feature over 70 collaborative print works created with Mario Laplante over two years. As a trained printmaker, Fine is drawn to the process of printmaking and creating multiple copies of an image. Approximately half of the pieces in the exhibit were created during visits to the coast of Maine, aiming to capture the visual poetry of the experience. Fine and Laplante have collaborated extensively over 30 years, meeting while Fine was in graduate school, and their collaborative style allows each to contribute as an "extra pair of hands and brain."

Zhou Fan is a Chinese contemporary artist born in 1983 in Shanxi Province, China. He is inspired by memories of his childhood, particularly vivid dreams of jellyfish floating in the sky. One series, titled "Love of Jellyfish", depicts these dreams. In another, titled "Teacher, I Won't Do It Again", Zhou paints a fat crying boy, inspired by a overweight classmate from his childhood. Zhou combines influences from Eastern and Western art history as well as modern culture in his colorful, imaginative paintings.

This review article summarizes the ophthalmic findings associated with inflicted childhood neurotrauma, also known as shaken baby syndrome. The most common ophthalmic finding is retinal hemorrhage, which is present in approximately 80% of cases and usually occurs at all levels of the retina. Other acute findings include vitreous hemorrhage, optic nerve sheath hemorrhages, and macular retinoschisis lesions. Late findings seen in survivors include optic atrophy, retinal pigmentary changes, macular holes, and high myopia. The extent and severity of ocular injuries correlates with neurologic outcome and prognosis. Students will form groups to analyze an assigned site, documenting existing conditions and evaluating them. This includes producing a base plan, conducting a site visit and survey, and creating inventory and analysis diagrams. Individuals will then generate a site synthesis diagram with design solutions. Submissions are due on October 13th and will consist of a bound booklet with the group's inventory/analysis and individual's synthesis.
Project 1 experiential landscape
This document outlines the objectives, tasks, and submission requirements for a group project on constructed landscapes. Students will be divided into groups to compare a local park to an international park based on categories like national, urban, or theme parks. Each group must present their findings in a 10 minute presentation that describes the park characteristics, history, location, activities, and supporting images. Proper citations and references are required. The presentation and a printed copy are due on the specified date along with a CD containing the softcopy files and details.
Constructed landscape project 1
Friendship Park in Kuching, Malaysia and Alga Norte Community Park in Carlsbad, California are two community parks that differ in location, amenities, and activities offered. Friendship Park commemorates China-Malaysia relations and features statues and murals while offering limited activities. Alga Norte Park resulted from 10 years of community support and offers diverse facilities like pools, sports fields, a dog park and skate park, as well as classes and special events. Both parks are located near residential areas and aim to serve the surrounding communities.
