Academic staff from the Science and Mathematics Education area at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, Ireland are involved in the strategic and operational planning of the Mallow Schools Project with the Mallow Development Partnership Group.
The aims of the Mallow Schools Project are to:
Improve the achievement levels of mathematics and science in Primary, Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle.
Increase the uptake of the sciences and mathematics at all levels.
Establish Mallow as the flagship location for innovations in teaching and learning in mathematics and science as made available nationally by EPI-STEM.
Evaluation of the first phase of the project was carried out in 2014 by gathering data through questionnaires (N= 27) and interviews (N= 16) from teachers and principals in 16 primary schools that participated in the programme of CPD in Science & Mathematics. The Majority of the teachers felt the active engagement, sharing of resources and ideas and collaboration were effective or very effective. The majority reported improvements in their pedagogy, planning and understanding, gaining confidence in their ability to teach Science and Mathematics.

Curriculum alignment and progression between early childhood education and ca...EduSkills OECD
Curriculum plays an important role in ensuring continuity and progression from early childhood education and care (ECEC) to primary education. The alignment of curricula and standards across these settings shapes children’s early experiences with education systems, with implications for children’s relationships and engagement in both ECEC and primary school, as well as longer-term learning and well-being outcomes. Governments can achieve curricular continuity in various ways, ranging from high-level alignment of goals across multiple curriculum documents to full integration of the curriculum into a single document that covers both ECEC and primary school. The broader contexts of education systems, such as organisation and governance, the training of staff and teachers who work in these settings, matter for curricular continuity – and an integrated curriculum alone does not guarantee a continuous experience for children.

Every person’s life must include an important element called education. Education is important, as stated by the proverb “Learning is a process starts in a mother’s womb and ends in one’s tomb.” Everyone may be academically capable, but very few people will also have a value-oriented education. Value education’s importathat nce has grown over time as a result of its contribution to the formation of a personality with a healthy sense of balance.
As a parent, it is your responsibility to make sure that your child acquires the skills necessary to not only survive but also thrive in the real world. While it is important to consider issues like selecting a career and making plans for the future, it is also important to advance holistically and first become a good human being.
Your child might not develop holistically if the entire learning process is centralised and evaluation-driven. Making the appropriate school choice for your child is therefore crucial. Even though you disagree with the necessity of value education, you should recognise that kids spend a lot of time in school. As a result, learning should be enriched in the classroom. At Academic World School, one of the best CBSE schools in Chhattisgarh, we provide an incredibly flexible curriculum that meets students’ developmental needs while maintaining value education as a crucial core component.

Educational technology, sometimes shortened to EduTech or EdTech, is a wide field. Therefore, one can find many definitions, some of which are conflicting. Educational technology as an academic field can be considered either as a design science or as a collection of different research interests addressing fundamental issues of learning, teaching and social organization. This slideshow presentation contains the important information about the importance of technology in the field of education.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Education Perfect
Introducing Smart Lessons
Education Perfect’s new Smart Lessons are comprised of four key study modes: Learning Material, Quick
Facts, Skill Mastery, and Self-Assessed Exercises. Each mode targets a different aspect of the topic material,
fostering a deeper understanding of the subject area.
The Secret Sauce
One of the most powerful components of Education Perfect is its ability to recognise areas in which a student
may need reinforcement. It then provides scaffolded learning around those areas to encourage a better
understanding of the topic or concept being taught. The spaced repetition algorithm built into the program
means students are rewarded for coming back and revising particular topics over the period of the school year.
