Enterprise Content Management
1. Enterprise Content
Management
KAISHA-Tec’s new Enterprise Content Module is designed to give you control over your project
documents and content like never before.
Unlike most enterprise content (CMS) and document management systems (DMS), KAISHA-Tec have taken a
different and more flexible approach to the production and management of project documents.
Typically, a CMS or DMS manages documents as a single entity (i.e. a single file), but we recognised that
multi-user collaboration of single documents such as functional requirements, manuals, or QA documents is
not very convenient at all.
Our solution: We split the stored document into separate
managed sections. Then, when a collection of sections needs
to be made into a complete document, our Content Module
gives you an extremely flexible export functionality allowing
you to export your content to any chosen document format.
The benefits of this approach...
• Content normally kept outside of the project repository
can now become an integral part of the project life cycle
process, managed under the same folder, including your
process models, organisation and data including remote
data.
• Content can be approved by entire document, group of
sections or individual sections.
• Sections can be quickly added to documents without the
need to reformat the whole document.
• You can see the status of each section of your document.
The use of coloured categories allows you to set a status
for each section or document.
• You can quickly navigate to any project data, websites, documents or objects such as the organization
unit or process model by simply double clicking on the item. Then include them in the export.
Export...
Process models no longer need to be exported
to an image format to see them in your docu-
mentation. Simply add them to the content
hierarchy and they will automatically appear
in your exported document.
Gain access to your object metadata. Create
or customise your own doclets that will allow
you to embed metadata relating to your proc-
esses objects or documents directly into your
exported document.
Imagine how many documents you might need
to modify if your corporate logo changes.
With the Enterprise Content Module simply
change your template.
2. Efficiency..
No need to continually copy and paste sections
from previous documents.
Standardized Presentation..
Standardize your documents to suite your cor-
porate image. Use a corporate export tem-
plate when you need to finalise or distribute
your document.
Standardized Content..
The user template gallery allows you rapidly
add frequently used export and section tem-
plates such as use case tables, scope state-
ments, disclaimers, functional specification
tables, dependency, constraint assumption
table etc to make sure that the right informa-
tion is being used every time.
Easy of use..
Configuration of templates and the customisa-
tion of doclets that are used to export your
project metadata to your document are all menu driven.
Re-use..
Need the project introduction to appear in several other project
documents? Link to a section within another document and you
need only have to ever update the introduction in one place.
Edit..
We provide a wysiwyg word processor giving you the ability to
edit your documentation directly.
Add tables, bullets and format your content just as you would in
Microsoft Word.
Benefits..
• You will quickly see how this product provides a framework to help your enterprise build standardized, well
formatted documentation to ISO 9000 requirements.
• Corporate document standards are easy to implement and just as quick to change.
• Flexibility in the product gives the user the ability to choose the most appropriate way to work without im-
pacting on corporate standards.
• QA audits are easier, as documentation for both the project life cycle and the process itself are fully inte-
grated.
• The reuse of information reduces the need to copy and paste. Reused sections are always the correct ones.
Coming soon:
• The ability to save the configuration of any export.
• The ability to link process models and process objects to documentation.
• The ability to use KAISHA-Tec’s ActiveFlow workflow engine to manage the collaboration process.
