 Life before FME…Contractors and Code
 In the last 8 years, ENMAX’s Geomatics group
has been using FME primarily for mass data
conversions between CAD and ArcGIS 9.2
  formats.
 Recently, FME has been applied in many other
projects as a powerful and dynamic ETL tool in
  our organization.
Outage Database Update Process

 ENMAX Outages is a custom application that
  produces internal notifications regarding outages
  in our distribution area.

 FME process updated the Excel spreadsheet file
that is used as input for ENMAX Outages. The
  update frequency is monthly.

BENEFIT:

 FME supports direct output to Excel file, and no
extra conversion needs to be done.
Site to Transformer Automation Process

 Spatial Electric Service data
    shows how electric services
    are distributed from
    transformer to parcels on
    map view (Spider Diagram).

 The Site to Transformer
    process turns the Electric
    Service information to spatial
    Electric Service data.

 This process used to be done
    by GIS drafters manually.
