Pablo de Sarasate was a renowned 19th century Spanish violinist, composer and conductor. He was born in Pamplona, Spain in 1844 and demonstrated exceptional musical talent from a young age, performing his first violin concert at age 7. Sarasate furthered his musical training in Madrid and Paris and later toured extensively throughout Europe and America, performing his own compositions to great acclaim. Considered one of Spain's most accomplished musicians, Sarasate is commemorated with a museum and monument in his hometown of Pamplona.
