COUNTABLE VS. UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
 Some uncountable nouns are countable in other languages.
Advice (uncountable) Consejo (contable en español)
Damage (uncountable) Daño (contable en español)
 Some words means, series and species look like plural nouns but they are usually countable and
singular.
 Spaghetti looks like a plural noun, but it is actually uncountable.
 People is often countable. 1 person, 2 people, 3 people and so on.
 Team is usually singular when it refers to ‘organization’ or ‘club’, but it is plural when it refers to
a number of players.
 Some good examples (or prototypes) of uncountable nouns are: money, information, work, age,
baggage, fun, ice, love, electricity or training.
 Some good examples of countable nouns in English are: dollars, newspapers, hours, years,
suitcases, parties, bottles and people.

Examples:

*Some lo podemos usar con peticiones y preguntas si esperamos una respuesta positiva de nuestro

EXAMPLES OF NEGATION:
I’ve got no experience. I haven’t got any experience.
There are none here. There aren’t any students here.
Be careful!Be careful! Double negation is not permitted:
*My sister hasn’t got no bank account. (ungrammatical)
EXAMPLES OF QUESTIONS (ANY means ALGUNOS/AS or “Un poco de” for uncountable)
Is there any water left? No, there isn’t
Have they got any problem? Yes, they have got some problems.
