Blue Sapphire is a flood resilient, semi-tsunami and semi-earthquake resilient city located on the east coast of Malaysia that accommodates 100,000 citizens. The city is planned to be visually open with medium and high rise skyscrapers and uses maglev transportation. It has underground pipes to channel sewage and organic waste to treatment plants. The energy system uses local solar and wave energy. The city is divided into zones with different flood resilience measures like turf walls, mobile buildings, and earthquake-resistant immortal walls.

The Floating Island is a pavilion installed in 2018 on a canal in Bruges, Belgium during the TRIENNALE BRUGGE exhibition. The long, floating structure was designed by architects Dertien12 and OBBA to blur boundaries between the canal and land, allowing visitors to walk and spend time on the water. Made of pontoons, frames, and rope curtains that react to light and wind, it provides varying open and enclosed spaces for resting, sunbathing, reading, and play.

Challenges to managing urban water bodies in India include a lack of clear definitions, data, strategies, and balanced management approaches.

Better livable town
1. The document describes a town planning project by Rachael Cheong Kah Yen for the town of X. It investigates the characteristics of ancient, present, and future towns.
2. It examines the ancient towns of Hoi An, Vietnam and Wuyuan County, China, describing their historical architecture and cultural influences.
3. The present town analyzed is Downtown Core in Singapore, focusing on its central business district and urban planning as the heart of the city surrounded by vibrant neighborhoods.
4. The project will propose a new future town to replace the polluted town of X, with characteristics designed for a livable environment.
The AMPHIBIOUS TOWN
This document presents a student project report on proposing a new and improved city plan. It includes investigations of ancient, present and future cities. It then proposes an "Amphibious Town" that can be lived in both on land and above water to address rising sea levels. Key elements of this new town plan include housing separated by wealth zones, solar energy and waste management systems like greywater recycling and biogas generation. Transportation focuses on electric buses, ferries and bikes.
Reclaim Camissa
The Reclaim Camissa project in Cape Town aims to reconnect the city center to the natural water systems from Table Mountain through a series of public spaces and water infrastructure. The 6.7 km spatial framework would incorporate parks, walkways, and public places, and daylight previously underground water. This would provide environmental, social, and economic benefits like increasing greenspace and opportunities for water reuse, public education, and tourism. The project also seeks to restore an important source of drinking water to the city from Table Mountain. A similar project in Seoul transformed an urban wasteland by restoring the Cheonggyecheon Stream and introducing green space and cultural amenities that have spurred economic growth and improved quality of life.
RECLAIM CAMISSA (Pecha kucha presentation)
CAMISSA, (the ancient Khoi name for Cape Town - meaning the place of sweet waters) is a spatial framework proposa.
CAMISSA is a development framework which through the use of water, focuses on the reinstatement of the ecological link that reunites the mountain and the ocean, into a public landscape, as a sustainable solution for Cape Town's CBD. It is a means by which to re-structure the City of Cape Town in accordance with environmental principles. Aimed at a sustainable approach to water use, planning, design and management that is based on the intrinsic value of water as a significant public resource that is not separate from the value of land and landscape. The vision is one of a genuinely progressive dual water management strategy that offers opportunities for new models to transform the future well-being of the city into an equal society for all people; and allows for public integration and education through the recreational use of the system.
Subsequently, RECLAIM CAMISSA a non-profit trust / Public Benefit Organisation was constituted and registered in order to support implementation of the 10 year programme.
Proposal
Lindau, Germany is a present town located on an island in Lake Constance connected to the mainland by a bridge and railway. The historic town covers an area of 0.68 square kilometers and has a population of around 25,000. Lindau was first mentioned in 882 and became an Imperial Free City in 1274. It has a long history dating back to Roman settlements in the 1st century. Lindau accepted the Protestant Reformation in 1528 and follows the Augsburg Confession. Elements from this present town that could inform a future floating town include its island location connected to the mainland, historic architecture and religious influences.
Enbe final project proposal

BLUE SAPPHIRE Adele Lu Khai Syn, Chung How Cyong, Ong Von Wan, Shum Li Sze, Danica Gan Jia Ern, Dana Kan Jia Torng, Yip Xiaojung, Wong Yun Teng, Wong Mei Xin, Sii Siaw Hua, Leong Li Jing Blue Sapphire is a FLOOD RESILIENT, SEMI-TSUNAMI AND SEMI- EARTHQUAKE RESILIENT CITY. The city accommodates 100,000 of citizen and the city hierarchy is based on a democratic political system. The city is located at the East Coast of Malaysia and the close proximity with the sea thus increases the likeliness of flood. According to urban structure, the city was planned to give visual openness by locating medium and high level of tower type skyscrapers properly. It uses maglev transportation such as maglev train, maglev urban pod and maglev bicycle that reduces noise and pollution. For the water and waste management, household sewage is channelled to the sewage treatment plant through underground pipe while the organic waste products are channelled to an incinerator. The energy management system is based on local production and consumption of renewable energy such as solar energy and wave energy. Blue Sapphire has a resilient plan for each zone of the city and it is shown in the table below. The history highlights how the city transform into a flood resilient city. This is the second presentation board that shows the management and the structure of the city. The last presentation board shows how BLUE SAPPHIRE perform as a flood resilient city by showing the resilient plan at each zone.
