1. I interviewed someone, like myself, who has been looking for a job for so long,
they’ve pretty much given up looking.
Problem Statement
STAKEHOLDER needs a way to adjust her expectations for herself regarding her career, because the
job market is not likely to improve or change for women of this age group for a long time.
STAKEHOLDER: “A highly experienced, capable, degree-holding learning and development specialist,
who is ready to make a valued contribution, and willing to work, but who has not been able to breakthrough
the ‘glass ceiling’ of age and gender currently found in amongst human resources recruiters.
PROBLEM/NEED: She needs to target and improve her networking to find work referrals, revisions to
her vita to be more innovative so she can capture attention to what she has to offer, and a better way to
engage the hiring managers.
INSIGHT: Hiring recruiters have little or no accountability for discrimination as much recruiting is done
anonymously on-line. Stakeholder might find ways to get ‘in the door’ for a face-to-face meet and greet.
