Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born in 1981 in Houston, Texas. She first gained fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. As a solo artist, she has released four studio albums - Dangerously in Love (2003), B'Day (2006), I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), and 4 (2011) - all of which reached number one on the Billboard charts, making her only the second female artist to achieve this feat. 8. Both Luckett and Roberson filed a lawsuit due to ‘breach of contract’, when Michelle Williams and Farah Franklin appeared in the “Say My Name” video. Luckett and Roberson eventually left the group, Franklin faded from the group within the next 5 months.During this time Knowles was suffering with severe depression from the split of the group, being publically attacked by the media and having her longstanding boyfriend leave her. She found it difficult to talk about t her depression at this time because the group had just won a Grammy and she thought no one would take her seriously.
