The Plain White T's formed in 1997-1999 as a group of high school friends from Villa Park, Illinois. They played underground shows in Chicago clubs and bars from 1999-2007. In 2007, their song "Hey There Delilah" became a number one hit, achieving platinum status and receiving two Grammy nominations, marking their mainstream breakthrough.
