Cables are often the last component considered during system design even if in many situations cables are the true system’s lifeline: if a cable fails, the entire system may stop. Cable reliability is therefore extremely important, then a cable system should be engineered to last the life of the system in the installation environment for the required application. Environments in which cable systems are being used are often challenging, as extreme temperatures, chemicals, abrasion, and extensive flexing. These variables have a direct impact on the materials used for cable insulation and jacketing as well as the construction of the cable. Using a systematic approach will help ensure that designer select the best cable for the required application in the installation environment. This lessons will provide students main guidelines for perform this approach.
Transformers are an essential part of the electricity network: they convert electrical energy from one voltage level to another. This course is introducing the subject of transformers. The intention of the whole series is to promote lifecycle thinking when procuring transformers. Therefore, the focus will be on energy performance, reliability, asset management
Electrical fault is the deviation of voltages and currents from nominal values or states. Under normal operating conditions, power system equipment or lines carry normal voltages and currents which results in a safer operation of the system.
Since the loads having the trends towards growing density. This requires the better appearance, rugged construction, greater service reliability and increased safety. An underground cable essentially consists of one or more conductors covered with suitable insulation and surrounded by a protecting cover. The interference from external disturbances like storms, lightening, ice, trees etc. should be reduced to achieve trouble free service. The cables may be buried directly in the ground, or may be installed in ducts buried in the ground.

Urban Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSW) Commercial and Domestic Wastes, ...Ajjay Kumar Gupta
Due to rapid increase in the production and consumption processes, societies generate as well as reject solid materials regularly from various sectors – agricultural, commercial, domestic, industrial and institutional. The considerable volume of wastes thus generated and rejected is called solid wastes. In other words, solid wastes are the wastes arising from human and animal activities that are normally solid and are discarded as useless or unwanted. This inevitably places an enormous strain on natural resources and seriously undermines efficient and sustainable development. One of the ways to salvage the situation is through efficient management of solid wastes.
There has been a significant increase in MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) generation in India in the last few decades. This is largely because of rapid population growth and economic development in the country. Solid waste management has become a major environmental issue in India .

Electrical power cables used for transmission and distribution purposes consist of conductors stranded from plain high conductively annealed copper wires insulated with oil impregnated paper tapes. Underground construction is necessitated in the more density built up portions of cities by the heavy transformers and lines required and by the multiplication of service connections to buildings. The cable may include uninsulated conductors used for the circuit neutral or for ground (earth) connection.

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled. Unfortunately, electronic discards are one of the fastest growing segments of our nation's waste stream. Electronic wastes, "e-waste", "e-scrap", or "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment" ("WEEE") is a description of surplus, obsolete, broken or discarded electrical or electronic devices. Technically, electronic "waste" is the component which is dumped or disposed or discarded rather than recycled, including residue from reuse and recycling operations.
A range of techniques is currently applied for retrieving components and materials from WEEE. The essential features of these systems generally conform to a scheme of: sorting/disassembly; size reduction; separation.

Introduction
Transformer is a machine that transfers electrical
energy from one electrical circuit to another without
changing frequency by the principle of
electromagnetic induction. Since its basic
construction requires no moving parts so it is often
called the static transformer and it is very rugged
machine requiring the minimum amount of repair
and maintenance.
3. www.entrepreneurindia.co
The term is used to include all transformers of large
sizes (250kva and above) used in generating stations
and substations for transforming the voltage at each
end of a power transmission line. They may be single
or three phase and voltage rating of220/11kv or in
high voltage range. They are kept in operation all the
24 hours a day. In such transformer iron loss occur
for all the time where copper loss occur only when
they are loaded.
