 Battery data, Current battery status,
Maximum battery capacity, etc are
shared with the charging station.
 This maintains the maximum charge
that may not damage the battery
and charge it under safe zone.
 It also continuously monitors the
temperature of the battery.
 It also detects hardware faults and
disconnects the battery to prevent
short circuits and fire.
• We all know that the use of fossil fuels is
harmful to environment and also it is limited
and will soon finished.
• Thus, as an alternative to this Electric vehicle
are design to save environment and earth.

vehicle, it’s configuration, advantages,

PERFORMANCE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Acceleration
The acceleration performance of vehicle is
evaluated by the time used to accelerate
the vehicle from zero speed to a given speed
with full load
Speed
The maximum design speed of the vehicle
determines the rated motor power and the
smallest gear ratio at a given maximum motor
speed
Pollution
This type of vehicle has no local pollution. It has
no overall pollution or greenhouse gas
emissions if recharged with renewable electricity.
Gradeability
Gradeability is usually defined as the grade
(or grade angle) at the vehicle can overcome
at a certain constant speed, for instance,
the grade at a speed of 100km/h(60mph).
Driving range
To keep the battery in an efficient state of
charge range for this distance, the state of
charge (SOC) should remain above 20% even
when the battery is close to its end of life
(80% of rated capacity).
Cost
The battery is a major cost factor and thus, a
battery management ensures highest possible
life expectancy of the battery combined with
optimized performance.
TRACTION MOTOR
• Traction motors are powered by
electricity and generate the power to
rotate the wheels of the train.
• The turning force produced by traction
motors is transmitted to the wheels via
the driving gear unit and axle.
• Traction motors are typically mounted
in the trucks where the wheels are
housed.
FEATURES OF TRACTION MOTOR
• Low maintenance : Completely sealed structure prevents dust intrusion.
Reduced number of components for fewer items requiring maintenance and
reduced frequency.
• Low noise : Completely sealed structure to keep noise at a minimum. Improved
accessory devices such as cooling fans also help keep noise levels low.
• High reliability : Robust structure achieved by integrating the stator and
brazing the rotor bar using high frequency heating.

BRIEFING OF CONTENT LEARNED Electrical Vehicle Safety Equipment (EVSE)  Battery data, Current battery status, Maximum battery capacity, etc are shared with the charging station.  This maintains the maximum charge that may not damage the battery and charge it under safe zone.  It also continuously monitors the temperature of the battery.  It also detects hardware faults and disconnects the battery to prevent short circuits and fire.

PERFORMANCE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE Acceleration The acceleration performance of vehicle is evaluated by the time used to accelerate the vehicle from zero speed to a given speed with full load Speed The maximum design speed of the vehicle determines the rated motor power and the smallest gear ratio at a given maximum motor speed Pollution This type of vehicle has no local pollution. It has no overall pollution or greenhouse gas emissions if recharged with renewable electricity. Gradeability Gradeability is usually defined as the grade (or grade angle) at the vehicle can overcome at a certain constant speed, for instance, the grade at a speed of 100km/h(60mph). Driving range To keep the battery in an efficient state of charge range for this distance, the state of charge (SOC) should remain above 20% even when the battery is close to its end of life (80% of rated capacity). Cost The battery is a major cost factor and thus, a battery management ensures highest possible life expectancy of the battery combined with optimized performance.

TRACTION MOTOR • Traction motors are powered by electricity and generate the power to rotate the wheels of the train. • The turning force produced by traction motors is transmitted to the wheels via the driving gear unit and axle. • Traction motors are typically mounted in the trucks where the wheels are housed.
  • 21. FEATURES OF TRACTION MOTOR • Low maintenance : Completely sealed structure prevents dust intrusion. Reduced number of components for fewer items requiring maintenance and reduced frequency. • Low noise : Completely sealed structure to keep noise at a minimum. Improved accessory devices such as cooling fans also help keep noise levels low. • High reliability : Robust structure achieved by integrating the stator and brazing the rotor bar using high frequency heating.
