ENTERPRISE KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EKMS)
ENTERPRISE KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EKMS)   Portal Enterprise Knowledge Management System (EKMS)  consist of: 1.  E-FORUM  E-Forum  provides  library users a platform for managing discussion forum groups and community interest groups. Users are able to  provide  a way to air the users' views, collaborative ideas, and to get people interested in using the community online functions. 2.  COMMUNITY INFORMATION SERVICES CIS (Community Information Services) encourages the community-wide communication and collaboration efforts within the library community. CIS increases information sharing among unconnected people or groups thus fostering strong and close community. A successful CIS will be a point of reference for a trusted source of information and knowledge for the community. Anyone who uses CIS will be provided with accessible, credible information and referral services in a friendly and efficient manner.
ii)  E-COMPONENT (VIA PORTAL PTAR) Continue… 3.  FAQ MANAGEMENT FAQ Management is a repository of FAQ pertaining to the department/faculty.  FAQ Management is used to manage frequently asked questions, which is organized according to subject area. Users can view the questions of interest according to the subject area defined.   4. INFO CASTER Info Caster provides the library with the facility for the users to conduct broadcast searches to multiple information sources via the Web. Result sets can be selectively stored in pre-determined repositories and displayed via Info Mint at My Domain Gateway or InfoFeed.   5. INFOFEED InfoFeed unleashes a powerful web sniffer which is able to auto extract ‘recent updated documents’ sourced from pre-determined diverse digital repositories, be it internal or external ,  and display these documents in a single aggregated format.

MY DOMAIN GATEWAY (MDG) MDG provides the library with the facility to organize relevant information according to the user’s profile based on user’s requirements. Users are provided with their own personalized page from which to view current information of interest. These suite of components extract, filter, analyses content that is stored in EKMS and ILMU repositories and provides display facilities in a single aggregated manner. 7. PATH FINDER Path Finder provides the library with the capability to build and maintain the corporate knowledge taxonomy. A user interface will be provided to allow users to visually navigate through the knowledge items lodged into the knowledge taxonomy that encourages knowledge discovery. 8. VIRTUAL REFERENCE BAY (VRB) VRB provides the library with the facility to organize relevant information according to pre-determined groups or classes. These suite of components extract, filter, analyses content that is stored in EKMS and ILMU repositories and provides display facilities in a single aggregated manner.

WHATS’S NEW What’s New is a series of e components and crawlers that is able to seamlessly extract latest content sourced from relevant dispersed repositories, filter according to pre-determined categories and display at the Faculty portlet via EQUIP. These suite of components extract, filter, analyses content that is stored in EKMS and ILMU repositories and provides display facilities in a single aggregated manner. 10. EKMS FOUNDATION EKMS Foundation is an integral component in a KM infrastructure. All management of policies and regulations are administered at EKMS Foundation. 11. PURCHASE RECOMMENDATION The shopping list function allows Users an alternative method of item selection. Items recommended are displayed on the Web organized by subject area / faculty. Users are provided with the option to select the items displayed for purchase. Users are also provided with an option to enter their own requests.
