LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

the Siddhis. If your mind, consciousness, and Aatma are not stable, then your body also is

mind through the practice of Ashtanga yoga.
There are 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, namely
Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara,
Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. Out of these
eight limbs, the first five are external and the
other three are internal."

What Single-Use Plastic Alternatives to Use Everyday With India’s Ban in Action
Starting from 1 July 2022, a nationwide ban on certain single-use plastic (SUP) items has been
implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
The Ministry has asked the State governments to initiate an enforcement campaign and also
to close down those units engaging in manufacturing, distribution, stocking and sale of such SUP
items.
Those violating the ban will invite punitive action, including a fine or a jail term or both as
detailed under Section 15 of the Environment Protection Act (EPA) and the bylaws of respective
municipal corporations
“According to the Act, whoever fails to comply with the provisions may be punishable with
imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years or with fine which may extend to Rs 1 lakh,
or with both,” reports The Economic Times.
To make the ban more effective, national and state-level control rooms have been set up for
checking the illegal manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of banned single-use
plastic items. Besides, states and union territories have been asked to set up border checkpoints to
stop the interstate movement of any banned single-use plastic items, the Ministry said in a recent
statement.
“The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) Grievance Redressal app has been launched
to empower citizens to help curb plastic menace,” a statement by the Ministry read. Additionally,
appropriate directions have been issued to the e-commerce companies, leading users of SUP and
plastic raw material manufacturers to phase out such items. According to the Central Pollution
Control Board (CPCB), India generates around 2.4 lakh tonnes of SUP per annum. The per capita
SUP production is 0.18 kg per year.
Here’s the list of the banned SUP items:
Items with plastic sticks like earbuds, plastic sticks for balloons, candy sticks, ice-cream sticks
and plastic flags.
Plastic items like plates, cups, glasses, trays and plastic cutleries like forks, spoons, knives,
straws, and stirrers.
Plastic wrapping or packaging films around sweet boxes, invitation cards, and cigarette
packets.
Polystyrene (Thermocol) for decoration.
Plastic or PVC banners that are less than 100 microns.
To help bridge the gap that these non-biodegradable items will leave, here are a few eco-
friendly alternatives:
Use bamboo earbuds or use ear drops as an alternative.
Use reusable or biodegradable containers made of eco-friendly materials like glass, food-
grade stainless steel, bamboo, rice husk, etc.
Use reusable cutlery made of stainless steel or use biodegradable ones made of wood, bamboo
or other natural fibres. Don’t forget to say no to plastic cutlery while ordering food online by opting
not to include it. Also carry steel, bamboo or wheat straws when going out.
Use reusable cups made of glass or ceramic instead.
Use paper bags or cloth bags.

Transcendental Meditation India celebrates International Yoga Day
Every year people across the globe observe International Yoga Day in June to celebrate the benefits of
yoga. The Sanskrit word yoga means 'union'. This year's theme is 'Yoga for Humanity'. Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi has brought to light that the process of unifying starts from the field of Unity, which is our own Self,
silent and blissful, deep inside every one of us, and which is directly experienced during Transcendental
Meditation practice. 'Only a new seed will yield a new crop': It is time for the seed of unity, Yoga, to be
sown in every heart to bring peace to the world.

Ukraine: Women at-risk finding inner peace, resilience through Transcendental Meditation
The war in Ukraine is deeply dismaying front-page news in other countries, but horrifying, up-close and
personal for people there. Everyone is vulnerable: the violence and fear cause shock, stress, confusion, and
anxiety. Many women, however, are receiving tangible relief offered by Transcendental Meditation. Some
have practised the technique for years; the director of TM for Women in Ukraine also quickly organized
instruction for over 70 women, and continues to teach daily as more requests come. They describe the
reduced stress and increased resilience resulting from the deep rest and inner peace they experience during
TM practice: 'From the first lesson I felt that the stress was gone,' one commented. 'Thank you very much
for my coming to life again at such a difficult time.'Another said: 'I felt relaxed, happy, relieved of stress....
I've finally slept well.'
A simple daily practice helps reverse war trauma in Armenia: Transcendental Meditation
A new documentary film, 'Ending the War Within,' brings to life the moving stories of Armenians who
have found relief from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and associated conditions of depression, anxiety,
and insomnia resulting from the 2020Artsakh war.Award-winning filmmaker Tigran Nersisian was drawn
to create the new film when he realized that practising the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique had
relieved his own depression and unleashed his creative potential. Since early 2021,ArmeniaRecoveryNow
has been teaching TM to victims of the war - veterans, displaced persons, children, caregivers. The
humanitarian programme was developed through the U.S. non-profit organization Alliance for PTSD
Recovery.
Breakthrough in how buildings can promote health and well-being: Ancient architecture system as
preventative medicine
Having understood the ill-effects of sick building syndrome and the need to better conserve energy by
incorporating green features, architects are also utilizing certain elements of an architectural design system
shown to reduce stress, improve sleep, promote physical and mental health, thereby improving the quality
of life for its inhabitants. These findings appear in the first comprehensive review of 40 years of published
studies on the benefits of Maharishi Vastu architecture (MVA), published in the current issue of Global
Advances in Health and Medicine: Managing the Built Environment for Health Promotion and Disease
Prevention with Maharishi Vastu Architecture.
