EXPERIENCE STATEMENT
I am an experienced Project Services and Risk Management professional
with a broad track record of success across a wide range of Project skills.
Commencing with engineering experience my career has covered many
areas of project control. I can demonstrate strong knowledge in many forms
of project service processes, including procedures, risk management,
portfolio & project control, planning, estimating, and project benchmarking.

I have acted as a Project Services consultant with BP from 2008, to the
present day. For the last 2.5 years to the current day I have been the PSM for
BP worldwide small modification projects. The work spans all locations within
BP Operations (a portfolio of 10 functional regions, some 1200 active projects
and an $800million yearly spend). I cover both offshore and onshore projects;
influencing a community of 10 PSMs. The work includes promoting a
performance culture, reporting, procedures, and training and development of
staff. Previous to that (for approx. two years) I was the PSM for BPs CASIS
(Controls Alarms and Safety Instrumented Systems) project. The project was
all about renewing all BPs instrumented layers of protection on 110 producing
assets.
From 2008 to 2012 my work as a consultant for BP covered a wide scope.
With multiple contractual relationships over the period. Areas of work were –
PSM for BP Angola new fields (2 years). BP representative on
“abandonment” for Angola. PSM for Bouharet (a large Algerian gas field).
PSM for an Algerian gas recovery project. PSM for a Libya Oil spill response
team. Subject matter expert for recruiting 12 planners. Subject matter expert
for renewing coordination procedures with BP selected engineering
contractors. Also worked for a few months in 2012 for Centrica (via Turner &
Townsend) as SME for writing Centrica project control procedures.

project approval. An annualised budget of over $3billion was supported

Piedemonte was a US$2 Billion project producing 300 MBPD of condensate.
With 15 staff, the work covered preparation of ITBs for contracts, and 200
smaller contracts.

risk analysis. Training staff in Project Services was an important element.

Two years (84/85) spent on secondment to Elf Aquitaine Norge assigned
to the Heimdal Oil Platform Project. Carrying out risk management work on

hook-up and commission the platform.
Three years (80/84) on secondment to Phillips Petroleum as Head of
Topsides Risk Management and Cost/Planning for the Maureen Platform.
One year in Head Office thereafter, at Kishorn site (Scotland) for 2 years as
Services Manager for inshore installation mating and final hook-up.

Duties: Administered the engineering workshop, maintenance activities and
associated plant modifications. Increased the plants capacity by 50%.

Duties: Design and installation of a thin wall bearings production plant. A
patent was drawn up in my name.
