• What is Education?
• Education in its general sense is a form
of learning in which the knowledge, skills,
and habits of a group of people are transferred
from one generation to the next through
teaching, training, or research.

• Traditional education in Cambodia was handled
by the local Wat, and the Bhikkhu were the
teachers.
• The students were almost entirely young boys.
• During the period of the French protectorate, an
educational system based on the French
model was introduced alongside the traditional
system.
