3. Theme of the School Based Assessment
This school based assessment is based on a school
that is doing purely online classes for their students.
It is an ONLINE private primary school with 300
students on roll and 25 teachers.
The school commenced in Sept 2001 and currently
has students in K- Grade 6, with an average of 15
students in each class . Grade 1 to 6 has two
classes per grade.
There is ONE Principal and ONE Vice-Principal.

6. Assignment # 1 – Speed Test
This will be a speed test of a passage with 5
or more paragraphs.
It will be done at the beginning of your fifth
year
The passage will be assigned by the subject
teachers and given to you on the day the
assignment is due.
7. Assignment # 2 – Online Research with email
Complete an online research into the THREE
MOST popular types of online learning platforms
available for schools today. Look into areas such
as

Advantages and disadvantages of the online

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation on the data
you have collected
Also email this presentation to FIVE friends and
Forward it to your EDPM teacher’s email address

15. Requirements for students
Each student will be required to prepare a portfolio
that should be a specimen of each of the elements
listed below. These should be attempted under the
guidance of the subject teacher and may be
repeated until the desired standard is achieved.
The Portfolio is to be submitted to teacher free from
errors.

17. Guidelines for preparing Portfolio
Each exercise must be labelled clearly to
indicate what is being demonstrated, for
example, fully-blocked letter with open
punctuation.
Each exercise should include the student’s
name.
Specimens may be done in any order.
A table of contents and a title page must be
prepared for the portfolio.
A bibliography listing the books, which the
student used should be prepared.
18. Guidelines for Portfolio
The candidate must:
Describe all components included in the portfolio.
Include a title/cover page containing the subject,
candidate’s name, candidate’s registration
number and the year of the examination.
Include a table of contents in which each entry has
a corresponding page number which actually
references the correct document.
Include a proper bibliography using a format such
as APA or MLA.

Component
Two examples of a description follows:
Manuscript: A two-page Architect’s Specification
on letter-sized paper with one-inch margins
showing shoulder headings, footnotes, a page
ending and a continuation page.
Tabular Work: A five-column price list displayed
using ruled tabulation with a main heading and
vertical columnar headings, displayed on letter-
sized paper horizontally and vertically centered.

The school has upgraded their internet service to
Blaze Gold edition but the internet service has
slowed up considerably and sometime doesn't
work at all. Prepare a letter of complaint to GTT
informing them of the issue and asking them to
come and fix the problem as soon as possible
