2. Executive Summary The website team will determine and identify the necessary steps to restructure the Dobbs Elementary Website. The site will enable a visitor to answer these questions: Where am I? What is this site about? What content can I find here? What can I do here? How do I find information?
3. Background The Dobbs Elementary Website was rolled out in January 2010 with a basic infrastructure. We were given a formal training on how to “personalize”, update and keep information current. The training was through a full-day class. We also are provided access to video tutorials and the Webmaster is supposed to be available for questions. The site has had little updates due to the time factor.
4. Project Overview Purpose The Dobbs Elementary School website will enable a visitor to find information needed while providing a visually appealing, easy to navigate site. Audience External: parents, potential parents/students, current students, alumni, community members and visitors browsing the internet Internal: staff, school and district employees
7. Project Objectives/Resources Project Execution Information Technology The Dobbs Elementary Website is an extension of the Rockwall ISD website therefore Website Policy will be adhered to. All web sites and pages residing on Rockwall ISD Servers must comply with all local, state, and federal laws and with Rockwall ISD’s applicable policies, rules, and regulations as well as compliance with the rules of copyright and fair use. Each Faculty member that is given authorization to modify the site is also responsible for reviewing copyright policy before posting any content to their site. The Individual Teacher will sign, and have on record with building principal, the District’s “Web Site Acceptable Use Procedures”. The Individual Teacher shall comply with all rules and regulations as set forth in Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), CQ (Legal), CQ (Local), EFE (Local), District Board of Trustee policies and procedures.

9. Project Approach The school level webmaster (Lisa Costello) will conduct weekly team meetings. The WM will be responsible for delegating tasks and assigning website duties. The WM will communicate via group emails, Google Docs, and/or Gmail voice and video chat. For the purpose of fulfilling a school requirement, our team will be called: Dobbs Website Design Team

13. Communication Plan Views of all stakeholders: students, parents and staff - will be sought by survey and/or discussion when planning the content of the website. A web team, which will include representatives of the above groups, will plan content, produce, edit and maintain the site. Survey will be initiated by surveymonkey.com
