Aware of the significant increase of demand on the UoE Counselling Service
& Wellness Centre, coupled with knowledge of the positive impact of social
prescribing on older communities, a health, wellbeing and heritage
collections interdisciplinary Steering Group was created to support
development of a Prescribe Culture pilot - Programme 6 and Take 30
Booklet.

PLACE-BASED DUAL COLLABORATION

Prescribe Culture inputs to the Critical Public Health course, with tutorials
provided on the Social and Ethical Medicine module. Prescribe Culture
Creative Health placements are available to students across health, social
work and heritage courses. The Prescribe Culture Lead sits on the
Personalised Care Inter-professional Education Group Board.

TEACHING AND LEARNING
Prescribe Culture, as the foundation to social prescribing on-campus,
is a key element in the psychosocial education strand of the new,
Lead Well Award, under development at the Edinburgh Futures
Institute.
CURRICULUM TRANSFORMATION
The Prescribe Culture Lead sits on the Student Mental Health Research
Group and is a Co-Investigator on international research project,
U-Flourish, led on by Prof Anne Duffy, Academic Psychiatrist, at Queen’s
University, Canada.

TEACHING AND LEARNING Prescribe Culture, as the foundation to social prescribing on-campus, is a key element in the psychosocial education strand of the new, Lead Well Award, under development at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. CURRICULUM TRANSFORMATION The Prescribe Culture Lead sits on the Student Mental Health Research Group and is a Co-Investigator on international research project, U-Flourish, led on by Prof Anne Duffy, Academic Psychiatrist, at Queen’s University, Canada. RESEARCH SOCIAL PRESCRIBING ON CAMPUS - YEAR 5 Civic Engagement Manager/Prescribe Culture Lead - Ruthanne.Baxter@ed.ac.uk More Information on Prescribe Culture Collaborative working, with referral pathway in operation, with the University’s Health Centre, Counselling Services, Disability Services and the Student Support and Student Wellbeing Advisor teams. Partnership working, across Edinburgh, with other heritage, culture and nature engagement providers, such as Royal Botanic Gardens and National Library of Scotland, to provide diversity of delivery programme options.
