This investigation implicated raw flour as a source of an outbreak of STEC infections. Although it is low-moisture food, raw flour can be a vehicle of foodborne pathogens
In July 2017, the Orleans County Health Department investigated a report of gastrointestinal illness from a corporate picnic that was catered. An environmental and epidemiological investigation identified 28 individuals who met the outbreak case definition. A detailed questionnaire based on the food that was served at the picnic was administered to the corporate employees that attended the picnic and respondent data was statistically analyzed. It was hypothesized from the statistical results that consuming roast beef (P <.05) was associated with becoming ill. An environmental investigation indicated that it was probable that the roast beef was potentially cross contaminated at the caterer’s kitchen by a strain showing similarities with a raw chicken isolate. A roast beef sample and two stool
samples from ill attendees were collected and sent for laboratory testing. Salmonella Heidelberg was identifi ed in all of the samples by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Wadsworth Laboratory. This outbreak demonstrates the importance of food service employees following proper preparation techniques in order to prevent cross-contamination.

Bacteriuria in Pregnant and Non Pregnant Women in Benghazi Acomparative StudyIOSRJPBS
Background: Bacteriuria is associated with significant maternal and foetal risks. However, its prevalence is not well known in our community. Objectives: Determine the prevalence and predictors of bacteriuria in women of the Benghazi, Libya as well as the antibiotic sensitivity patterns of bacterial isolates. Methods: Across-sectional study was carried out amongst pregnant and non pregnant women attending many poly clinics in Benghazi. We recruited 120 consenting women (60 pregnant and 60 non pregnant) for the study. Demographic and clinical data were collected using structured questionnaire. Clean catch midstream urine was collected from each participant. Samples were examined biochemically, microscopically and by culture. Significant bacteriuria was defined as the presence of 105 bacteria per ml of cultured urine. Identification and susceptibility of isolates was performed using API (BioMerieux, France Company) . Results: Significant bacteriuria was found in the urine of 13.3 % (16) of all women with prevalence of 16.7% in pregnant women. Asymptomatic bacteriuria was detected in 8.3 % (10). The most frequent isolates were Staphylococcus aureus(31.2%),Escherichia coli (25%), Staphylococcus saprophyticus (18.9%), and were sensitive to gentamycin (GN) 87.5%, azithromycin (AZM)75%, and the less effective antibiotics were cephalexine (CL) and ampicillin(AMP) Conclusion: Bacteriuria is frequent in women particularly pregnant women suggesting the need for routine screening by urine culture, which would allow early treatment to avoid the complications. In addition, urinary tract infections appears to be multifactorial.

Association between moderate intensity physical activity and inflammatory mar...José Hernández Soto
Background Moderate-intensity physical activity has been associated with a lower risk of chronic diseases such as breast cancer. Low-grade chronic inflammation is associated with metabolic disorders and cancer.
Purpose We evaluated the association between self-reported moderate-intensity physical activity and serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in women with and without breast cancer.
Methods We studied a random subsample of 352 cases and 381 controls obtained from a large population based case-control study. An in-person interview, anthropometric measurements and blood samples were obtained. For the analyses, multiple linear regression models were used.
Results In controls, there was a negative association between moderate-intensity physical activity and serum levels of IL-6 and CRP (β = -0.0041, 95% CI -0.0079 to -0.0003; β = -0.0088, 95% CI -0.0172 to -0.0005, respectively); no association was found with serum TNF-α levels. In cases, no statistically significant associations were found.
Conclusions Engaging in moderate-intensity physical activity was independently associated with lower serum concentrations of IL-6 and CRP only in women without breast cancer. Prospective studies are required in order to understand in which moment this association is lost.

Novel Approach Of Diabetes Disease Classification By Support Vector Machine W...IJARIIT
Early diagnosis of any disease with less cost is always preferable. Diabetes is one such disease. It has become the fourth leading cause of death in developed countries and is also reaching epidemic proportions in many developing and newly industrialized nations. Diabetes leads to increase in the risks of developing kidney disease, blindness, nerve damage, blood vessel damage and heart disease also. In this study, we investigate an automatic approach to diagnose Diabetes disease based on Bacterial Foraging Optimization and Artificial Neural Network .firstly, we applied Bacterial Foraging Optimization for features selection and then we implement artificial neural network for finding out the classification accuracy. The proposed SVM method obtains 87.23% accuracy on UCI diabetes dataset which is better than other models.
Secondly, we applied again Bacterial foraging optimization for features selection and then we applied support vector machine for finding out the classification accuracy .The proposed Correlation with SVM method obtains on UCI dataset.

Results: Out of 105 cases of tuberculosis which reported at DMCs maximum no. of patients belongs to age group between 21-40 yrs of age group (58%). Majority of cases were married (65.7%) cases. (62%) cases were Hindu by religion and (58%) belongs to other backward caste. In the study we found majority of patient was illiterate (34.3%). Most common clinical presentation was cough, fever and cough with expectoration, anorexia was reported in (61.9 %) of cases (77%) were cigarette/bidi smokers, 60% were tobacco chewer. Diabetes was reported in (12.4%) cases and (3.8%) cases were HIV positive.
Food production is among the leading sources of the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. Food production generates up to 30% of total global emissions1,2 and is also a significant contributor to biodiversity loss, deforestation, freshwater use, and land use change.3 The production of livestock generates the highest levels of greenhouse gas emissions, whereas the production of fruit and vegetables generates the lowest levels.4 Globally, changes to food production and consumption, including reducing food waste and shifting to a more plant-based diet,5 are critical to reducing global warming and other environmental impacts.3

FODMAPS, Put simply, FODMAPs are a collection of short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) that aren’t absorbed properly in the gut, which can trigger symptoms in people with IBS. FODMAPs are found naturally in many foods and food additives.
Quote from the Introduction from the Global Nutrition report
"This year’s Global Nutrition Report focuses on the interdependence of the SDGs, and how progress against one goal generates progress for all. Nowhere are these linkages more evident than in the food agenda. As the producers, manufacturers and retailers of most of the world’s food, business has a responsibility to help drive the food system transformation. As a progressive food company, we are
committed to helping redesign our global food and agriculture system, to give everyone access to healthy and nutritious food and diets and thereby create a brighter future for all.

Transform Our Food Systems to Transform Our World
> Promote innovative approaches that are people-centered, eco- nomically viable, and sustainable to make farming part of the solution to climate change.
INTRODUCTION- Just In case you missed this when i first posted
There is an escalating crisis in food and farming systems. Industrial food production is damaging the environment, degrading natural resources and contributing to soaring levels of diet-related ill health. We urgently need to tackle this issue before the problem becomes even worse. But how do we go about this? And what is preventing society from doing more to change these harmful practices?
Arguably, the biggest barrier to making food and farming more sustainable is the distorted economic system which takes account of the direct costs of production, such as land, feed, seeds, labor and farming equipment, but fails to include the many externalized costs including pollution, biodiversity, social, cultural and welfare impacts. This system results in a situation where food produced intensively appears to be cheaper to consumers and more profitable to producers than food produced in a more sustainable way.
However, the external costs of this system are ultimately paid for by consumers, either individually or as part of society, even though they rarely realize this.
