President Truman And President Dwight D. Eisenhower
President Harry Truman and President Dwight D. Eisenhower were each president during the Cold
War. Harry Truman became president during the end of World War II in 1945. His final term ended
in 1953. Dwight Eisenhower became president in the midst of the Cold war in 1953 and his last
term ended on 1961. Truman was Democratic and Eisenhower was Republican. They each had
many occasions when their policies had similar intentions, but they went about them differently.
Each wanted to end the fighting and to limit the spread of communism. They each also wanted to
help strengthen other parts of the world. They tried to achieve these issues by enacting foreign
policies in military, political and economic situations. Truman and Eisenhower each wanted to help
limit the increasing issue of communism. One approach they did was getting involved physically
and militarily in the countries that were in need. The peace conference at Potsdam was a failure,
because communist Russia still stood on their own and as their own separate nation. The Soviet
Union had already succeeded in conquering Poland, and much of Europe splitting up Germany.
After Hitler committed suicide, the main obstacle for the United States and many other countries
was to avoid the looming threat of communism. Truman created the Truman Doctrine to possibly
stop or postpone this issue. I believe, he argued, that it must be the policy of the United States to
support free people who are resisting attempted subjugation by

I.Clear Error Standard on Appeal For Subsidiary Factual Matters
A.Teva Pharm. USA, Inc. v. Sandoz, Inc., 135 S. Ct. 831 (2015) The Supreme Court held that
when reviewing a district court s resolution of subsidiary factual matters during patent claim
construction, the Federal Circuit must apply the clear error standard, not a de novo standard of
review.
1.Background The owner of a patent covering a manufacturing method for a multiple sclerosis drug
brought an action against marketers of a generic version of the drug, alleging infringement. The
marketers filed counterclaims seeking declaratory judgment of non infringement, unenforceability,
and invalidity.
The United States District Court for the Southern District of New construed the ... Show more

On the original appeal in this case, the Federal Circuit reversed and remanded the district court s
finding of indefiniteness under the premise that a claim is indefinite only when it is not amenable
to construction or insolubly ambiguous. The Supreme Court in Nautilus v. Biosig Instruments Inc.
134 S.Ct. 2120, 2124 (2014) in its decision articulated the standard A patent is invalid for
indefiniteness if its claims, read in light of the specification delineating the patent, and the
prosecution history, fail to inform, with reasonable certainty those skilled in the art about the scope
of the invention.
In light of the new standard set forth by the Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit addressed only the
issue of indefiniteness on remand. The question before the court was whether the district court
erred in holding that the spaced relationship as recited in claim 1, and referring to the spacing
between the common and live electrodes, was not distinctly pointed out and particularly claimed in
the patent in violation of 35 U.S.C. В§

Synthesis Of Esters
Esters aromas are very distinct and often pleasant, they are often used in food aroma and
fragrances. Esters chemical properties are distinguished by their low molecular weight and low
boiling points, caused by their dipole dipole and dispersion interactions; additionally, esters cannot
form hydrogen bonds. Esters are the result of a condensation reaction, in which a carboxylic acid,
an alcohol, and acid catalyst creates a water molecule and an ester. In a condensation reaction the
carboxylic acid and alcohol react in a way that causes at least one alkyl or benzene ring group
replaces a hydroxyl(OH) group. Amides like esters can be formed by a condensation reaction
involving carboxylic acid, which reacts with amine, to form an amide and water.... Show more

With the dried mass of the product the balanced equation of the reaction, between 4 aminophenol
and acetic anhydride can be calculated. The percent yield of said product can then be calculated
by divided the calculated mass by the theoretical mass. Using the characteristics of alcohols and
pH, the 4 aminophenol and acetaminophen produced can be tested to categorize which are
alcohols and the pH of each. In the Cerium Test the reaction between [Ce(H2O)6]4+ and HO
R(alcohol) will produced [(H2O)5Ce O R]3+, the (R) group will produce a color change in the
product allowing for the characterization of a reactant as either an alcohol or not. In the
Universal Indicator Test adding universal indicator to an aqueous mixture of any alcohol, amide,
or amine will result in a color change, red for acidic and blue for basic. Then by using the
knowledge that alcohols and amides register as pH neutral and amines register as slightly acidic
allows for the characterization of the reactant as an alcohol or amide, or as an amine. In the last
part of the experiment, an alcohol and an acetic acid will react in an esterification reaction to
produce an ester. Using the ester odors in the known ester banks, the unique aroma of each ester
will allow for a categorization of each ester produced. Lastly, retrosynthetic analysis can be used to

Teddy Bear Epilogue
You got everything you need? She held up her teddy bear Yup. She also had a white back pack

Mr,Bear? I don t think that. Daddy can protect me. No! Dont say that! He s super dad! He can do
everything! John stopped and kneeled down and held his daughter shoulder as she yelled at the
bear. What s wrong Abby? What d Mr,Bear do? Abby frowned down at the bear. Then mumbled.
I forgive you, She looked back up at her father, It s okay daddy, he s okay now. John concern for
his daughters mind increased as the conversations with her bear became more and more strange.
He knew the magic was slowly seeping into her mind but refused to accept that it would drive
her to inasnity. If he gives you any trouble, I m here. She nodded smiling up at him. You ready for

Comparing Mending Wall And Tear Down This Wall
A world without walls is the only sustainable world... Bill Clinton s statement about walls relates
to both Frost s Mending Wall and Reagan s Tear down This Wall . In each of these texts, nobody
wants the wall up because it causes both physical and emotional unstableness for families and
friends. In Reagan s speech it shows that they can t get supplies they need, they are cut off from
the rest of the world, and kept away from family. In Frost s text it shows that people remain lonely
because they can t see friends, and they can t form new friendships because the wallprevents new
friendships from happening, also only the neighbor wants the wallso it causes emotional conflict. So
as anyone can tell, the walls only cause problems both physically and emotionally for everyone.
The theme of separation is present in both texts. While Frost s wall separates neighbors, Reagan s
wall separates different things. In Reagan s text, Tear Down This Wall , his wall separates families.

In Frost s poem, it keeps friends away from each other and prevents new friendships from being
started. The narrator has no friends because the wall separates and makes it to where he can t
have friends. He doesn t want the wall there, but the neighbor does, so it s really just a big
emotional conflict between the two. It also has a lot of physical labor put into it to keep the
wall up. On the other hand, Reagan is shooting people as they try to climb over the wall. This
wall keeps them cut off from the rest of the world, and unable to gain supplies. The whole
purpose of this wall is to separate East Berlin from West Berlin, because of the Cold War. Not only
does this wall separate city and country, but it also separated families from being together. Which is

Relationship Between Gas Station Exercise On The People...
With this course, I have learned that it is possible to dramatically improve my ability to negotiate. I
can improve my monetary returns and feel better about myself and the people with whom I deal. I
also learned that there are several ways to test my own intuition and approach. The course provided
me with an opportunity to assess my instinctive bargainingstyle and provides suggestions for how
to further develop my bargaining abilities. The negotiation exercises was a good way to cement
several of the concepts from the book and lecture and gave me several opportunities to get to know
my classmate more and test some new insights with them.
Gas station exercise: my team shouldn t have been too worried about the other station s profits.
We should only have been concerned about maximizing our own profits. Even though our
profits depend on both our choices in pricing and the choices of the other station. However, our
main concern should be our own profit picture. If the other team do well or do poorly, that
shouldn t be a big concern of ours. You should simply do as well as you can to boost your own
profits as much as you can. At the start of the game, we had a plan and actually documented the
minimum amount we expected to make and wrote this down. We also agreed on who would go to
meet with the other team to let them know our position. The preparation gave us the peace of mind
that comes with having a game plan. I believe planning gave us confidence during the exercise.

The Nature of Communism and Nazism Essay
Two totalitarian systems, Communism and Nazism were the two most frightening totalitarian
political systems in the history of mankind. They were the systems most brutal to its political
adversaries but also to its own people and other races and/or religions. Unfortunately our own
country, Croatia faced both of them during the 20th century, and some of bad influences we still
feel today. In my essay I will do my best to examine these two totalitarian systems, describe their
nature in essence and answer question How did Communismand Nazisminfluence the societies .

Albrecht Durer Influence
Albrecht Durer was a German known for his engravings and painting throughout Europe. He
lived from 1471 1528 and during that time made a great impact on the world of art. Durer was
raised by his father and godfather, who were a goldsmith, and printer/publisher, respectively. From
these men he learned his basic art skills such as drawing and woodcutting. His experience with his
family as a child lead to his expertise in painting, printmaking, engraving, math, and theology.
Durer, also often thought about the different proportions that are seen in a human body, which
influenced his future work, such as his Adam and Eve paintings. He is known to be the first
northern European to have been influenced by things going on with the Italian Renaissance.... Show

In the painting, Eve stands by an evil serpent and is falling for his lies and charm while eating an
apple. On the other side of the painting, Adam is holding the apple that he received from Eve.
Adam and Eve are naked in the paintings, which represents their purity and innocence. They do
however use leaves to cover the private areas of their body. The paintings were made to be life
sized. Both, Adam and Eve are shown to be tall and muscular. Durer did not put too much detail
in the background because he did not want the background to be a distraction from the beauty of
Adam and Eve. Adam appears to be hesitant in the painting, with his right hand open in an almost
defensive kind of matter. Eve on the other hand looks like she is trying to persuade Adam of
something. The painting is an example of implied time and motion because these actions are being
implied and it is hard to know for sure what the actual motions will continue to be, all we know for
sure is that both characters have different things on their mind by the way they are holding their
bodies and their facial

The Revolution of 1688
The Glorious Revolution, also known as the Revolution of 1688, refers to the events of 1688
1689. These events eventually led to the overthrow of Catholic King James II and the ascension
(of William III and Mary II) to the English throne. These events also produced a significant shift
in the relationship between the monarchy and parliament. This paper will discuss the overthrow
of King James II, the rebellion and revolt and the consequences as well as the global effects of
the Revolution in order to explain the importance of this event in world history. James II, king of
England from 1685 1688, inherited a very strong position when he came to power. When James II
first came to the throne, he was not very well liked in the eyes of the people of Great Britain,
simply because he was a Roman Catholic King to an overwhelmingly Protestant nation. Like most
politicians, James made promises to protect the peoples personal beliefs. At the beginning of his
reign, James had promised to respect his subject s rights and liberties and protect the Protestant
establishment in the church. Despite these promises, James decided to advance the Catholic tenets
over the protestants. He did this by issuing dispensations to Catholics including the Test Act of
1673, promoting the public celebration of mass, forcing the universities to admit Catholics, issued
a Declaration of Indulgences and also engaged a campaign to pack Parliament so that he would be
able to establish Catholic tolerance by

Software Piracy beyond the Street Corner
On January 23, 2003, the world s leading computer networking equipment maker Cisco Systems,
headquartered in San Jose California, filed a lawsuit against China based Huawei Technologies and
its United States subsidiaries Huawei America and FutureWei Technologies. In the lawsuit, Cisco
alleged that Huawei stole intellectual property by copying its Internet Operating System (IOS)
software and its copyrighted user manuals. Cisco also claimed that Huawei infringed on its patents.
After numerous failed attempts to resolve these complaints directly with Huawei, which included a

many years of diligent, hard work and creativity. Cisco holds several patents, copyrights, and
trade secrets that are critical to its success. Huawei, on the other hand, chose to make shortcuts
and had complete disregard for the sanctity and legality of intellectual property. In fact, Huawei s
Vice President confessed that all the world s leading equipment suppliers are our learning
modules. [1] Can Huawei s belief in learning from their competitors and Cisco s belief that Huawei
stole and copied intellectual property be attributed to a differing ethical perspective due to culture?
We will discuss this in Section 3.
Cisco claims against Huawei involved copying IOS source code, copying technical documentation
and user manuals, copying command line interface (CLI) and screen displays, and patent
infringement.

Narrative Voice Of The Yellow Wallpaper By Charlotte...
Charlotte Perkins Gilman aptly used narrative voice to shape the meaning of The Yellow
Wallpaper, by writing a first person narrative about a woman who slowly loses herself to
madness. This voice is one of a woman who may possibly have post partum depression or some
other form of manic depression, and her unheard cries for help. She slowly draws within herself,
and allows the insanity to take over. Within the first few paragraphs we learn general characteristics
about the narrator: she is middle class, as indicated by the phrase mere ordinary people (354); we
also learn that she is married, suggested a statement about John laughing at her, something she says
is only expected in marriage. Though we are never given her name, these generic aspects just might
be more important to the progression of the story than her actual identity or personal history.
No longer distracted by trying to find clues in her past that may take away from the plot, we are
able to focus on the slow degeneration of a woman s mind through a journal she keeps. Narrative
voice continues to morph throughout the tale, and her level of sanity is directly related to her level
of reliability. The story continues through eleven different entries, each showcasing a deeper phase
of madness. Every time she returns to write again, her mental condition worsens, as well as her
reliability. By the final entry, we see she is somehow managing to journal while she has a full
mental breakdown something that would not

Copper Carbonate Lab Report
The reaction characteristics of basic copper carbonate
гЂ–mCuCOгЂ—_3в‹…nгЂ–Cu(OH)гЂ—_2 were observed by changing the reaction mole ratio.
The reaction mole ratio of sodium carbonate to copper chloride (II) was controlled from 1.08 to
1.68. Fig. 1 shows the XRD patterns of copper carbonate powder. At a reaction ratio of 1.08,
paratacamite (Cu_2 Cl(OH)_3 ), beside alkali coppercarbonate, was formed because of incomplete
reaction at a copper content of 53.9 wt%. Lack of sodium carbonate may cause incomplete
reaction with copper chloride (II) because of low pH (6.0) of the solution [12]. The copper content
according to the reaction moleratio were 57.7, 50.5, 58.8, 59.3, and 59.8 wt% at the reaction mole
ratios of 1.20, 1.32, 1.44, 1.56, and 1.68, respectively.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The malachite basic copper carbonate formed as CuCO3 в‹… Cu(OH)2 shows bright green,

the stoichiometric coefficients of CuCO3, is higher than n, the stoichiometric coefficient of
Cu(OH)2, so that the amount of CuCO3 is generated is more than that of Cu(OH)2. With
increasing reaction mole ratio of sodium carbonate, m is lower than n so that the generation rate of
CuCO_3 is lower than that of CuгЂ–(OH)гЂ—_2. Therefore, copper content increased with
increasing sodium carbonate. With assumption of same value of m and n, theoretical copper

Each Career In The Science Field Comes With Its Own Set
Each career in the science field comes with its own set of challenges. Aspiring wildlife biologists
and current scientists should know what the major challenges are in the field. Wildlife biologists
struggle to find a permanent job in general. There is a considerable amount of research projects that
rely on the government s funding (Wildlife BiologistsCareers: Job Description Salary Info). Funding
from the government can be limited, which puts time constraints on projects. Often, people do not
realize how important biologists are to their environment and do not care to know the impact, they,
as regular citizens, have on their world. This, consequently, pushes research to the side when it
comes to funding. This career is not one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because donations tend to run out quickly and volunteers may only be able to work for short
periods of time before they need a permanent job, organizations such as WWF have a high turnover
rate of workers. Considering the government is not able to finance every biology project needed,
donations are essential and only come from people who are adequately informed about what
biologists do for their environment. Organizations, such as the World Wildlife Fund, rely on
volunteers and donations from people surrounding the research area. People must care about for
the environment to help it; bringing awareness to everyone will help funding and eventually
create new and permanent jobs for scientists in this occupation. Jane Goodall, a primatologist
who has been studying primates, such as apes and chimpanzees, for over fifty years, states, Only
if we understand can we care. Only if we care will we help (Denys 106). In other words, it is
imperative that people be informed in order to help biologists. The public s knowledge of their
environment could help bring awareness to wildlife organizations and government associations that
help fund biologists. Overall, a properly educated public can better understand what wildlife
biologists do and citizens are more likely to help through volunteering or donating to research
projects. Although some say Along with the public being mindful of what

This conclusion, proves the hypothesis stated above. As predicted, the simulated acidwith less

Consequently, the tablets took a longer time to dissolve in the acid with a greater concentration of

When measuring out the substances for this experiment, an individual could get random errors
when slightly different values are collected each time they perform the measurement. Systematic
errors, on the other hand, are more difficult to detect but can be avoided if an individual looks
for them with care. A systematic error can occur in this experiment if the chemicals that are used
are expired or when the scales that are being used have been tampered with beforehand. Aside
from random and systematic errors, there are a few limitations in the design of this experiment.
The use of small graduated cylinders can provide inaccurate results for the experiment. Since the
smaller cylinders can only hold a small amount of acid, there is a possibility that the solutions can
undergo supersaturation, when a solution contains more of the dissolved material than could be
dissolved by the solvent. In a case that this happens, it would be difficult to predict when the tablet
stop dissolving in the solution. Therefore, due to the number of errors that could be made in this
experiment, the results are a little unreliable unless changes are made during the procedure and

Malcolm Muggeridge Biography
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written every one of them, the day

before she founded the Missionaries of charity, before Malcolm Muggeridge caputured her life in
real action and in words, God had already written a biography of Mother Teresa. Those who read of
Mother Teresa s life become inspired to live a purposeful and wholly devoted life, yet literary
critics of Muggeridge focus on finding fault in the structure of words. Muggeridge s biography
of Mother Teresa may be viewed as lacking impartiality, however, biographies are meant to be

the Barthel Index of Activities of Daily Living and the Instrumental Activities of Daily Living

waist to hip ratio and body mass index (BMI) was not included. The outcome assessment tools as
a group were described as standardized, however the validity and reliability of the measures was
not discussed by the researchers. Inclusion of all measurement methods and acknowledgement of

JIT Project
Making a list of the problems in this case will give us a better view of what is going wrong with
the JIT project.
1. Supplier management expert not working out
2. Stakeholder conflict about tasks execution
3. People complaining of lack of communication
4. IT overallocation for critical path tasks
5. Supplier management intro course prototype was not well received
6. Possibility of increased cost by seller of the course
As we can see, there are numerous issues with this project. Does this mean that the project is
headed for failure? I would argue not necessarily. Surely, if this list of issues is not addressed, the
likelihood of the project failure will skyrocket.
We can see that numbers 1 and 4 are HR issues. For #1, the PM and HR would need to sit down
with the expert and either fix the problem, or look for another expert. There are pro s and con s to
both of these options, so it would be preferrable to keep the expert but fix the problem. Hiring a
new SME would cost additional time and money to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

1. Fix the SME problem, ensuring that the project team and sponsor are aware of the issue
2. Explain to the stakeholders why the team has decided to execute tasks and the reasons for not
doing it another way. Stakeholders aren t the ones managing the project and need to trust in the
project manager and project team.
3. Figure out where the communication breakdown is an fix it. I would argue that in this case,
there appears to be a lack of communication on all fronts and that it is detrimental to a project of
any type.
4. Whatever the fix is, it must be communicated to the project sponsor and stakeholders as to why
there is either an increase in budget or porject duration. I explained the issues

Essay about My Bedroom
My house is quite large. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, two living rooms, a
dining room, a special games room and a big front and back garden. My favourite rooms is my
bedroom. I love it because it is the only room in my house where I can lock myself away from
the rest of the world. After a long day, all i want to do is go up tom my cosy bedroom and either
listen to some mellow music, or lie down, unwind and watch a bit of T.V or maybe even a
relaxing film. My bedroom is a very special and different room. Thriugh the day it s a relaxing

My favourite thing to do in my bedroom is jump on my bed and once when my friends came to
sleep over we had a game to see who could jump and make their head touch the ceiling and
naturally I won but my little sister would burst in without knocking and see what we was doing
and ofcourse the first thing she did was say Im telling mum in her little whining annoying voice
and run down the stair and tell my mum. So it was a long time i had to wait to have another
sleepover. In the corner you can see the fairies and pixies fighting over the pizza i was eating
yesterday which is infact my favourite food. The design of the rooms is very unique like
everything has been put in a place for a reason. The oldest think i can remember here is the sofa
which i bought 2 years ago. I remember when we first bought it, the smile on my face and the
arguing between my dad and brother. Go left, Go left he would yell. Ahh good times. It used to
be clean but the constant food i would eat on it could have changed that. Like most teenagers i
have many posters on my walls mostly of role models that I admire, favourite teams and a few
cute girls here and there. The most visible thing here is probably the red carpet that covers the
bedroom as far as your eyes can see. In the corner of my bedroom is my desk which I normally do
all of my homework and assignments, On top of it sat my computer which is always on. My

United States Political Culture

This was the party slogan for the political culture in George Orwell s novel, 1984; a stark,

What Is Gap Year Essay
What is Gap Year? Gap year, which is also called as prep year, foundation year, and so on. Gap
year, just like the word itself, it always takes a year (usually more) for people to put down what
they are doing right now and go on vacation or just do something they would be in love with.
When people mentioned gap year, it is always about the year between them graduated from high
school and before they start having their college life. The things they are going to do in the gap
year will usually be totally different from what they are doing in their normal life. Typically, gap
year is travelling around the world. However, nowadays, gap year can be quite different from
each other. Some of us may go on a vacation; some may do some internship; Some may just do
some volunteer work. Thus, whatever you do, except like usual, for about 12 months, then you
have had a gap year. Why we are going to take a Gap Year? Why we are going to take a Gap Year?
This is the most common question that people asked before they are going to have a gap year.
Some of them even have no idea why they have had a gap year. There are lots of reasons for people
taking a gap year; some people think gap year is just a time for fun, for them to completely relax

Buddha vs Jesus
Christianity and Buddhism are two very prominent religions dating back from early years up until
today. Both are offshoots of other religions Christianity from Judaism, and Buddhism from
Hinduism. The Buddhists follow the teachings of Gautama Buddha, while Christianity is centered
upon the life and teachings of JesusChrist. Christianity is monotheistic while Buddhismis
nontheistic. Christians believe that Christ is the son of God, while Buddhists do not believe in God
as the creator of the universe.
Buddhism dates back to Nepal, India in the 5th century BCE. The early followers of Buddhism
were a community of monks called the sangha. The literal meaning of Buddhism is those who
follow the teachings of Buddha. The teachings of the Buddha are often referred to as the dharma ,
which also means cosmic law and order.
The ethical guidelines of Buddhism are not to murder, lie, steal, drink, or participate in unlawful
sexual behavior. Buddhists believe in the Four Noble Truths: 1) human life is full of suffering; 2)
suffering stems from cravings for pleasure and avoidance of pain; 3) suffering can be eradicated;
4) the path of freedom from suffering is the path of enlightenment. (Julia Hardy) They also follow
the Noble Eightfold Path in order to achieve the end of suffering. The Eightfold Path consists of: 1)
Samma Ditthi Right view or understanding, 2) Samma Sankappa Right thought or attitude, 3)
Samma Vaca Right speech, 4) Samma Kammanta Right Action, 5)

The System Of Naming And Classifying Organisms
The theory of evolution is significant as repeated testing that explains an observable, verifiable
truth that life on this plant has changed over time. (Fuentes, 22) It is the well supported history of
where all life came from on this planet.
Starting over 500 years ago with Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Francis Bacon, and Isaac
Newton paving the way for the possibility of new scientific exploration into studies such as
stratigraphy, the study of the rock and soil layers of the earth by Robert Hooke and Carolus
Linnaeus study of taxonomy, the system of naming and classifying organisms based on
morphological similarities and differences, humanity would begin to uncrack the code of where life
came from in a nonbiblical sense. (Fuentes, 26) Further studies by George Louis Leclerc Comte du
Buffon, Erasmus Darwin (Charles grandfather), Georges Cuvier, James Hutton and Charles Lyell as
well as Jean Baptiste Pierre Antoine de Monet Chevalier de Lamarck s studies in which he correctly
identified the environment as a challenge to organisms and adaptation as the result of changing to
meet environmental challenges helped prompt the formulation of the current understanding of
evolution by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallaceeach in their own special way.
Through the work of curious minds before them, Darwin s inspiration working as a naturalist on
the HMS Beagle and traveling to the Galapagos Islands, and Wallace s promptings for publication

Canadian Prime Minister s Power
The prime minister has a significant amount of power within the Canadian government. Some of
the sources of the prime minister s powers are the number of seats in the House of Commons he
and his party has, his ability to give push/give priority to certain government agendas, and his
ability to appoint different governmental positions. For a politician to hold the office of PM his
party must hold the majority of the seats in the house; this means that by convention his party must
be in solidarity with his decisions, which gives the PM s the loyal support of his party. Another
power of the PM is the ability to put forward governmentagendas that they believe should be

A Separate Peace Act 1 Scene 1 Analysis
The scene I have chosen is a bit more than midway through the book, page 180 exactly. I chose
this excerpt because I believe it is a true display of thematic ideas of manipulation and politics,
with a small touch on the theme of religion. This passage is all about Rasputin s political power
through ties to the royal family and his skill in manipulation. In this passage, Rasputin is attempting
to instate a friend, Alexander Protopopov, the Duma s vice president, as minister of interior. Of
course he need to get the tsar Nicholas II to approve this, so Rasputin started with asking the
empress
Backtracking a bit, because preceding this excerpt, there were large amounts of political
leapfrogging in 1916, lots of events tied to the theme of politics. Ministers of different departments
were fired, re assigned, or hired for no reason, which left the minister of interior position open for
Rasputin to secure for Protopopov. Now Protopopov was a respectable nobleman, charming
statesman, and veteran, which made it all the easier for Rasputin ... Show more content on

Only three months past and Nicholas had Protopopov made the new minister of interior. Once
again, Rasputin had his way. God bless your new choice of Protopopov, Alexandra exclaimed. Our
Friend says you have done a very wise act in naming him . This quote is obviously tied to the
themes of religion, politics AND manipulation. Rasputin manipulates Alexandra into believing
what he does, and into telling Nicholas II that by listening to her (thus Rasputin) choice in political
figures, the tsar was approved by God, an idea that Nicholas II could draw the conclusion that as
long as he listens to his wife(a.k.a. Gregory Rasputin) he will always be right by the Church. It s
ironic that the author uses rather sophisticated language due to that Rasputin, though he appears to
be a flamboyant monk with too much love for alcohol, is an intelligent, deceiving

Conch Symbolism In Lord Of The Flies
Symbols: a mark or character used as a conventional representation of an object, function, or
process. Throughout this story the use of symbols were greatly used as a representation of a
civilization journey. The process was made up of 3 important symbols in the novel to which
helped the boys find an escape from the island. The boys found an escape route even if the
symbols were made as a negative impact on how they lived or as a positive impact. The novel, The
Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding utilizes the symbols of: the conch as an illustration
of leadership, the signal fire which illustrates a man s struggle for survival, and the beast is a
representationof man s fear of the unknown.
The conch is used as a symbol in the story as order to act as leader while holding the conch. As the
boys held the conch to speak they were given the chance to let out what they have to say without
everyone talking at the same time. That s what this shell s called. I ll give the conch to the next
person to speak. eaking. And he won t be interrupted. Except by me. He can hold it when he s
speaking. And he won t be interrupted . Expect by me. We can use this to call others. Have a
meeting. They ll come when they hear us As a person receives the conch the boy s fight over to
who holds it next to speak which causes unbalanced emotions which causes a separation into two
groups. The importance of the conch served as how they reacted with each other in society manner
wise, since one person could only be the one speaking the others would have to show manners so
that no conflict would start over who s talking and to wait a turn.
The signal fire was used as an resource for man s survival as a way to be found by using it. The
source of the fire comes to as a personal idea on how Ralph thought of the idea to create a fire to
be later be found by aircraft. There s another thing. We can help them to find us. If a ship comes

Observation as a Social Work Tool and Skill Essay
This assignment is going to look into observation as a social work tool and skill. Firstly, it is
going to briefly describe the observation. Secondly it will analyse the interactions using a
reflective approach. And finally, it will look into some relevant social work skills and values that
relate to the discussed topic.
The observation exercise was carried out on the upper deck of a London Bus on a weekday
evening and lasted approximately fifteen minutes. The subjects of the observation were a male in
his late twenties that appeared to be of Afro Caribbean origin and a female of a similar age with
an Eastern European accent. The male was wearing a tracksuit and had a set of headphones

On the other hand, by being an anonymous observer a degree of spontaneity could be achieved.
Moreover Tanner and Turney (2000, p344) argue that the absence of active participation can
give the practitioner the opportunity to think about and digest what is both seen and felt .
Although I was not actively participating I did feel emotionally engaged during the observation.
There were times during the observation in which the girl s body language did not match what
was being said. In one occasion, the male asked her where she was going to which she replied: I
am going to meet a friend at the pub . From an observer perspective she looked uncomfortable,
her body moving away from the male while fiddling with her mobile. At that point the male
persistent questioning made me feel uneasy too. I understood the complexity of Schon s (cited in
Briggs 1999, p148 149) idea of reflection in action ( being able to reflect during practice encounters
) taking into consideration the range of factors, such as thought and emotions, involved in the
process of observation.
Once the observation had finished I felt relieved and a bit bewildered. On later reflection I have
come to realize that the emotional state that I underwent during that process might have had a
direct relationship with my own personal values and the conscious need to observe in a way in
which I was

Enough Is Enough Alain De Botton
When is Enough, Enough?
In his chapter Equality, Expectation, and Envy of his book Status Anxiety, Alain de Botton
analyzes the social anxieties of people. In his article, Botton explains the possible causes of these
dilemmas, and how these social issues affect our generation today. Throughout the chapter, Botton
discusses peoples longing to be better, the impact of equality on the world, and the realistic results
of high expectations and hopes. Although modern society seems to have had a tremendous
improvement of resources over many generations, people fear that enough is not enough.
Society strives for more and better things, even when they already have more and better things.
Botton explains that we decide our wants and set our limits by comparing ourselves to our
reference groups (Botton 25) A reference group is an assemblage of people in similar conditions
as our own. We suddenly become hateful and envious when someone that we correspond and
relate to is more dominant and successful than us in whatever way. In addition to comparisons and
envy, Botton discusses how we only compare ourselves to people in our reference groups. In our
society, it is easy to know when someone may have had more or ... Show more content on

He begins by explaining how the greater the number of people whom we take to be as our
equals and compare ourselves to, the more there will be for us to envy. (Botton 27) Although
very common today, equality was not an accepted belief in the past. It was presumed that people
were born into their position, low or high. Slaves were not considered people and lived a life of
servitude; they could not build their way up to a higher position. Aristotle stated in Politics, It is
clear that some men are by nature free and others are by nature slaves, and that is for these latter,
slavery is both expedient and right (qtd. in Botton

Antwone Fisher 3 Essay examples

There is one part in the movie that really made this movie one of the most impactful movies I have
ever seen. He made a poem and presented it to his psychiatrist. It read:
Who will cry for the little boy lost and all alone
Who will cry for the little boy abandoned without his own
Who will cry for the little boy he cried himself to sleep
Who will cry for the little boy who never had for keeps
Who will cry for the little boy who walked a burning sand
Who will cry for the little boy the boy inside the man
Who will cry for the little boy who knew well hurt and pain
Who will cry for the little boy who died and died again
Who will cry for the little boy a good boy he tried to be
Who will cry for the little boy who cries inside of me
This poem has a true meaning behind it. The meaning of it is of Antwone when he was little. He
would cry himself to sleep. He would get beaten over an over again. It just kept building up and
finally he cried for help on the inside. Luckily he got help from his psychiatrist before it was too
late. The last quote from the movie that made it such an impactful movie was, You are the champ,
you have beaten everyone who has beaten you In the end I think that Antwone Fisher is the most

Doing Cutting Edge Research Work At Leading Universities...
Doing cutting edge research work at leading universities paints a full image of my dream.
Conducting leading edge academic research to advance business knowledge as a learned scholar
has always appealed to me much more than conducting operating strategies to maximize corporate
value as a chief officer. For me, nothing can compared with the eagerness to discover new things,
the rapture of acquiring much knowledge, the satisfaction after intellectual interactions. To fulfill
my career goal as an outstanding academic researcher in finance area, I would like to pursue a
doctoral degree by dedicating my full time to a researchintensive program, which can offer the right
foundation to help me get ahead. I believe that the Ph.D. program in Business Administration (with
concentration in Finance) would be invaluable in helping me meet my long term goal.
My desire to become a researcher stems from both my personality and my experience. Born in a
family full of educators, I value knowledge more than wealth. Intelligence is the main asset in my
family both my parents devote themselves in research and teaching as professors in universities,
though they have different specialty. Asking questions constantly and searching for answers are
greatly encouraged. And elders extol virtues mostly when I show curiosity, erudition and initiative.
But actually, I didn t come to decide on my lifetime career goal just simply to follow in my parents

East Kentwood is where I am from. I was in the band every year and I loved it.I have made some of
my dreams come true through pure hard work. Failure is not an option for me anymore. I have
failed before of course. My failure taught me a great lesson that I will never forget again.
After freshman year of high school, I wanted to be in one of the top two bands in high school.
There are three bands above the freshman band. It was a huge goal for me at the time and I
desperately wanted to make it into one of the top bands. Being in the top bands really mattered to
me because I believed it is awesome! After freshman year, I waited all summer to see what band I

After failing myself and staying in the bottom band after freshman band, I worked much harder
to get into the top bands. I had a couple more years, but I wanted to be in the top band before my
senior year so I can prove to myself that I can do what I dream of doing. I had to change
everything I was doing to get to my dream. It worked out and I made it to the very top band my
junior year. Also, the instrument I play is called a bassoon, which I started studying freshman
year. As you can see, after the first time I saw myself fail, I started working much harder for the
thing I knew I could do and accomplish. I started staying after school to practice my instrument
everyday for at least an hour and I would focus much more on what I was practicing. I also
changed many things in my life. I found out that, working hard in just the classroom won t make

Do you choose intelligence over happiness? I don t know what s worse, to not know what you are
and be happy, or to become what you ve always wanted to be, and feel alone. Writes Charlie
Gordon (Keyes 298). In Flowers for Algernon, Charlie Gordon is a young man who struggles with
mental retardation. His dream is to be intelligent so he can be like the rest of the world. Charlie
goes through an experimental surgery that increases his intelligence. But the consequence of his
tripled intelligence is that Charlie Gordon is not as happy as he was before surgery. Before his
surgery, Charlie was oblivious to his friends being mean to him. After, he realized what kind of
people they really were. Before surgery, Charlie s ignorance hid him from the true, harsh reality.
After surgery, Charlie s ignorance disappeared, making him realize how fake and disappointing
the world can be. Before Charlie s surgery, he was happy, but felt oblivious to the world
surrounding him. After surgery, he was pleased with his intelligence when it reached its peak. But
when Charlie s intelligence began to deteriorate, he became upset that he couldn t think the way he
could when he was smart. From the reasons stated above, In Flowers for Algernon, Charlie Gordon
is better off before surgery.
Charlie Gordon is better off before surgery because he wasn t aware of his friends being mean.
After surgery, he realized that

Scott Joplin Essay
Scott Joplin (1868 1917)
Scott Joplin, commonly known as the quot;King of Ragtime quot; music, was born on November
24, 1868, in Bowie County, Texas near Linden. Joplin came from a large musical family. His
father, Giles Joplin was a musician who had fiddled dance music while serving as a slave at his
master s parties. His mother, Florence Givens Joplin, born free and out of slavery, sang and played
the banjo, and four of his brothers and sisters either sang or played strings.
Joplin s talent was revealed at an early age. Encouraged by his parent s, he became extremely
proficient on the banjo and gained an interest for playing the piano. After Joplin s parents purchased
a piano for the family, he taught himself how to play the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This opera did not actually reach popularity until some 60 years later. New York proved to be
stimulating for Joplin s creative mind. There he published many ragtime jewels, on right after
another.
In 1916, Joplin s career came to an abrupt end. Joplin contracted syphilis and began suffering the
terminal effects of this disease. He suffered from paranoia, dementia, penalization, and other
symptoms. In the latter part of 1916, he was admitted to Manhattan State Hospital, a mental
hospital, where he would never leave until he passed away on April 1, 1917. After his death,
Joplin s body was buried in the Astoria section of Queens, New York in St. Michael s Cemetery.
In Joplin s many years of composing, he was never actually acknowledged as the great composer
that he really was. There just was not any opportunities for black musicians during those times to
have their music heard by anyone in the serious musical world. Joplin s music received
recognition posthumously as a result of the revival of ragtime music in the 1970 s, as well as
during its popularity in the 1920 s and 1930 s.
Throughout his entire life, Joplin was mostly influenced to increase his musical skills by his mother
and father, both being musicians themselves. More than type of influence upon himself, Joplin was
one to place the influence on others. His works sparked the writings of his contemporaries, all those
who studied with him, and all those who studied his music.
Joplin led in the

Safety Razor Vs Straight Razor Research Paper
A common question from new and experienced shavers a like is Which is better, a safety razor
or a straight razor? Both of these have their own unique advantages and disadvantages so the
answer is not so clear cut. Each person s skin, lifestyle and time constraints are different so the
answer will be different from individual to individual. By considering certain key points you can
make sure you select the best type for you.
Straight razors can bring back a feeling of nostalgia and offer a traditional shaving experience. It
somehow feels right and manlier something that safety razors do not offer. This traditional
experience requires full immersion and is normally a lot more time consuming than using a safety
razor. You need to enjoy the shave. The best straight razors can last a very long time and are...

You will need to replace the blades a lot more often so they are less cost effective in the long term.
They are, however, a lot more convenient to use. Their main benefit is that you can just pick it
up and start using it with very little preparation or skill required (and without the fear of slicing
your face). The shave is quick and super convenient. Despite this, you can still get a quality
shave; although it won t be as close as a shave from an experienced straight razor user. Their ease
of use is the reason that they are the most popular form of razor today (although they commonly
come in a disposable cartridge form).
If you enjoy the act of shaving and love traditional experiences, then providing you have the time
to learn to use one a straight razor would be the better option. The long term cost effectiveness
and the quality of the shave is unbeatable. If you just need to remove hair from you face quickly
and efficiently and do not want to spend months learning a new skill, then a safety razor would be

Policy Failures Essay
Policy failures Immediate reaction to the Great Recession could have assumed that it was an
intelligence failure perpetrated by the failure to understand and anticipate the risk in the economy.
Or perhaps there was too much noise to be able to pick out clear indicators of the pending
economic turmoil. However, to do so dismisses the culture of deregulation that existed throughout
the 1990s and early 2000s. It also dismisses the political nature of financial policymaking. Thus, at
its core, the Great Recession occurred as a result domestic and foreign policy.
In the early 2000s, the Federal Reserve lowered interest rates to combat deflation following the
burst of the dot com bubble. By 2003, the Fed dropped the rate to 1%, traditionally ... Show more

Some financial institutions got bailed out. Some merged with others. Others were nationalized by
the USG. But the USG chose not to bail out Lehman Brothers in September, instead allowing the
bank to fail. That would become perhaps the biggest failed decision of the entire crisis, because it
injected a lack of confidence into the markets. It caused a run on repos, similar to the bank runs
traditionally seen in prior financial crises (Gorton and Metrick 279). However, the bank run came
in the form of large banks concerned with the failure of other large banks, which had not
traditionally occurred. Accordingly, the stock market crashed as the last remaining shreds of
confidence exited the markets and a herd mentality ensued globally.
From foreign policy makers perspective, the most significant failure was to not understand the
tight coupling between the US and the rest of the developed world. Figure 4 demonstrates the
prevalence of financial crises across the world and the number of countries involved. A cursory
glance demonstrates the drastic increases following 1970. Evidence existed that coupling in global
finance was increasing systemic risk. However, policy makers globally failed to heed the evidence
and make meaningful action towards protecting against systemic risk. Thus, policy makers failed to
make any meaningful developments in increasing shock absorption capabilities.

The Gaze On Women s Cinema
Abigail Brill
Long Proposal
24 February 2015
The Gaze on Women in Cinema
Cinema has a very powerful influence on us, whether we are aware of it or not. Cinema tells us,
in a way of reflection, how we are to act and respond as a society. For example, in movies women
with body hair are portrayed as shamed, unhygienic, and usually rejects to sexual advances. I ve
started to recognize these consistent stigmas, but this is just one example of what I believe makes
the male gaze so successfully prevalent in American cinema.
Starting in the 1970s, women have been portrayed in film through various misogynistic lenses: the
male gaze, voyeurism, and sexual objectification; these lenses are still rampant today in modern
American film. Apparently,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These films are not creative; they are mere replications of an era in film started as early as the
1960s. American film has been using the enticing appeal of women s bodies to subtlety promote
aggressive voyeurism since films such as Hitchcock s Rear Window, and David Lynch s film Blue
Velvet.
Voyeurism and spectatorship are exemplified in Hitchcock s film Rear Window from 1954. The
film is focused around the situation of the main character, Jeff, looking through his binoculars into
a woman s apartment across from him. The film employs a powerful photographic lens with its use
of cut shots that only show Jeff s optical perspective.
Hitchcock uses a standard eyeline match pattern, cutting from a shot of Jeff looking to a shot of
what he sees. Since there is no establishing shot that shows both Jeff and the opposite apartment,
the Kuleshov effect operates here: our mind connects the two images. More specifically, the
second shot represents Jeff s optical viewpoint, and this is filmed from a position on his end of
the axis of action. The camera has not crossed a line. We are strongly restricted to what Jeff sees
and what (he thinks) he knows.
(Bordwell)
As Rear Window continues, we see the objectification build up more and more intensity through its
technical uses and editing. Jeff s character attaches another lens to his camera to further magnify

Canadian Government Vs Spartan Government
One of the main ways Spartans and Canadians were similar was in their form of government. Both
Spartans and Canadians had an assembly, whose members were elected by people. However, the
Spartan government was usually classified as an oligarchy . It is a small group of people having
control of the country, organization, and institution. The ancient Spartan governmentwas ruled by
two kings, who ruled until they died or were forced out of the office. Women did not participate in
the political life of Sparta. Canada is a constitutional monarchy which is a system of government by
the whole population typically through elected representatives. Unlike the Spartan government,
women have the rights to vote and are part of the governor. In addition,

The Metropolitan Opera Monologue
After I watched Carmen, what impressed me the most is Ms.GaranДЌa s performance and the
music of this opera. I think the music wonderfully shapes principal s personality and Ms.GaranДЌa
s performance made Carmen more vivid. She performed this opera in The Metropolitan Opera in
2010. In the first act, when Ms.GaranДЌa sang L amour est un oiseau rebelle , I can tell Carmen s
charm and uninhibited personality. She knows that she is very attractive to men, so she is very
confident about herself and tries to draw all the men s attention. The melody of this aria is very
stretchy and flowing and it contains a strong temptation, gorgeous and elegant. What s more, In the
keywords of L amour , the chorus companion made it particularly outstanding, I think it carries a
beauty and naturalness. Added Ms.GaranДЌa s performance, it fully shows Carmen s bold,
passionate and full of mysterious charm of the character. Also, in the same act, when Carmen
tempted Don Jose, she sang another famous aria PrГЁs des remparts de SГ©ville , the melody is
full of passion and it also contains a bit of wild, it further shows carmen s characterization.... Show

Future Of The U.s. Dollar
Future of the U.S. Dollar
Today, the world economy, after witnessing the greatest hit in 70 years, is wondering what life will
look like after the storm has settled. It is grappling with the fundamentals of unemployment,
increasing inflation, current account deficits, negative growth, and zero interest rates along with it,
depreciating the value of money. In the midst of all this the future of the U.S. dollar is uncertain.
Will the dollar maintain its reserve currency status even after its depreciation and regain faith of the
nations? Or will it be replaced by some other currency, shifting the power balances among the
nations forever?
The U.S. dollar peaked in value in 2000 2001 and has been in a significant decline ever since.
There was a relatively brief period in 2008 when the dollar rebounded quite sharply due to the
worldwide financial crisis and economic meltdown, when there was a global rush to the safety of
U.S. treasury securities. But since then, the dollar has resumed its long term downtrend. In the
recent years the dollar has been improving relative to other currencies, becausee of the decline in
those other currencies.
With President Obama s most unprecedented spending plans in history, as well as trillion dollar
budget deficits and the potential to more than double the U.S. national debt in the next 5 10 years,
there is now a widespread speculation that the dollar is headed for new all time lows and a possible
collapse.
As a result, we are seeing and hearing

The Powerball Lottery
The defeat of Initiative 42, Mississippi s best hope for adequately funding K 12 public school
education, was devastating to Mississippi public school educators and their many supporters.
Since the defeat, the question has been, What do we do next? Like so many others, I questioned if
there was any need to even try to fight the system any longer. However, after a lot of thought and
soul searching, I am resolved that it is more important than ever before to continue the fight. In fact,
I have a plan of action that may sound farfetched on the surface, but it just might work. The plan is
at least a step to rekindle the flame that educators and parents must keep burning on this issue.
By Wednesday of this week, the Powerball lottery is estimated... Show more content on

As long as state legislators are not bound by the commitments of preceding legislatures or by
their own laws, it will remain so. Presently, any device or action orchestrated by legislative
action to boost education funding can be argued in subsequent years as nonbinding. Legislators
can and have successfully argued that the current legislature cannot be fiscally bound to the
fiscal commitment of a previous legislature (i.e. MAEP funding). In the case of a lottery, that
would mean if a Mississippi ticket won the lottery, state legislators would most likely rescind all
or part of their commitment to education and place 50% of the winnings in the state rainy day
fund, give 35% of the winnings to the corporate world, keep 10% of the winnings for legislative
expenses to organize and implement the lottery plan, and send the remaining 5% of the winnings to
the public school districts. Afterwards legislators would brag about the financial windfall they had
engineered for the good of Mississippi s children and teachers. Sadly, the public would buy it.
Educators would meekly take their windfall and continue to do the best they could with what they
have. However, on the positive, Mississippi might jump from 50th in per student education
expenditure to 48th in the nation, so bring on the lottery! After the defeat of Initiative 42, at least a
lottery might once again give Mississippi educators and their supporters

Critique Of Just Mercy Critique
Gurvir BhullarMs. Paulsen English 1109 344 Nov 2017 Just Mercy Introduction Critique There
are always two sides to an argument, but different people have different opinions on which side
is right and wrong; as a result, we can compare a debate or argument as of a coin, due to the fact
that it has two sides. When it comes to the topic of judicial system in America, most of us will
readily agree that it needs to be reformed. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the
question of who will step forward and make changes to the court system. Whereas some are
convinced that no one is going to do anything about it, others maintain that the government will be
the savior by making the changes. In the introduction of Just Mercy: A Story of Justice And
Redemption, by Bryan Stevenson an American lawyer, social justice activist, founder and
executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, and a clinical professor at New York University
School of Law Stevenson emphasizes that people are not being treated fairly in the judicial system
of America. The book was written to give readers a close up look on mass incarceration and
extreme punishment given in America. Convincing the readers is not easy, except if the author uses
strategic techniques such as ethos, pathos, and logos. It is even more tough if the topic is sensitive
and debatable as this one. Stevenson used these three techniques in a variety of different ways to
convince the readers. The author starts the

The Trojan War Facts
Trojan War Myth/Fact Tell me, O Muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide after
he had sacked the famous town of Troy. (Butler 1835 1902) The epic poem The Iliad and The
Odyssey, is the story of the Greek struggle to rescue Queen Helen from the Trojan captors. Which
led to an all out war between the Achaean Greeks and the Trojans, the name of this war is called
the Trojan War. The Trojan War was a legendary conflict between the early Greeks and the people
of Troy in western Anatolia. In the original story, Paris, son of the Trojan king, ran off with Helen,
wife of Menelaus. Menelaus demanded to have her back, but the Trojans refused, so his brother

The war apparently lasted ten years, when the Greeks finally withdrew, leaving behind a large
wooden horse with a raiding party concealed inside. A man named Sinon was left behind and he
convinced the Trojans to bring the horse inside the city. When the Trojans bought the horse into
the city the party of Greeks opened up the horse and raided the city. Men were massacred, and
women carried off. It also states that the Gods found the war to be so interesting that they
participated themselves, and helped the Greeks take the city of Troy. No one really knows if
this war was a myth or a fact due to the fact that it is presented only briefly in an epic poem. In
order to find evidence of the war, historians have gone to the site of where the war would ve
taken place and excavated artifacts to prove wither the Trojan was a myth or a fact. But their
research started off from the very beginning, which was the source of the Trojan War

Analysis Of The Book The Time Machine
Adeline G. Phillips
Mr. Sanders

Introduction
The best selling novel, The Time Machine, is written by H.G. Wells. H.G. Wells is also known as
The Father of Science Fiction. Wells has written many books that has influenced our vision of the
future, The Time Machine, being his first and foremost novel. The Time Machine is the story of the
Time Traveler who invents the machine, his adventures while traveling, and his recounting of the
tale to the narrator and friends gathered in his home.
Key Idea 1 The beginning of the book is very intriguing, pulling readers into the book and making
them want to read more. The book begins in the Time Traveler s home, where he and his guests are
having dinner and discussing his theories about time and time travel. When the Time Traveler tells
the guests he can actually do it, they are skeptical. The Time Traveler s colleagues bombard him
with protestations and thought provoking questions. This part of the book makes the reader wonder
what the outcome of time traveling might be but it is obvious that the Time Traveler
wholeheartedly believes in time travel.
Key Idea 2 In a moment my hand was on the lever and I had placed a month between myself and
these monsters. What a classic, wonderfully imaginative science fiction sentence. The story is
completely and utterly engrossing. The fact that the book was published in 1895 and science
lovers can still love and appreciate this book and H.G. Wells

Reality Boy Theme
Through the beginning to the middle of November, I read the book Reality Boy by A.S. King.
Reality Boy is about Gerald Faust, a kid in highschool who had his whole childhood screwed up
because he was on reality TV. His mom thought he was retarded, his sister constantly beats him
up, and the whole world laughed in amusement as they watched him take craps everywhere. The
book was interesting because he started out as a kid known as The Crapper and he was able to
turn his life around for the better. The theme of this novel is that even though you have
experienced awful things in your life and has been screwed inside and out, you can still overcome
the obstacles that stand in your way of success. For example, on page 260, A.S. King writes... Show

There is a lot of adult themed topics throughout the book like sex, cursing, and many others. A
young reader, for example, my sister who is eight years old, shouldn t be reading this because
nobody wants an eight year old kid going around and yelling F*K THIS S**T! (King 104). I am
pretty sure you get the picture with the other topics. I recommend that librarians should put a
warning label or a parental advisory sign on it or something because this book should not be in
our library and especially an elementary s library. Speaking of this book, I give it an 8 out of
10. It is interesting and funny at some points, but I just didn t like how his entire childhood was
ruined because of his family. I really wish that there were less cursing in it because most of it is
unnecessary. But, if this book was in a series, I would definitely read it. In conclusion, Reality
Boy by A.S. King is an interesting but inappropriate boo, but for me it was a pleasure to read it. I
liked ho Gerald, whose life was turned upside down, turned it rightside up and made it better for
himself and for everyone around

Should Autistic Children Be Placed In Special Schools
For many years people have discussed whether autistic children or teens should be placed in
regular classes, given special aides, or if they should be placed in special classes. In the book,
The Spark, by Kristine Barnett, it talks about how Kristine s son, Jacob, otherwise known as
Jake, was diagnosed with autism at age two, yet he overcame all of the stereotypes placed on
autistic children. Jacob was in a special Ed class, but his mother pulled him out because he was
not making any progress. She decided to prepare Jacob for mainstream kindergarten, all on her
own. She knew that the special Ed class was helping him learn or retain the information being
taught to him, it wasn t helping him at all, it was hurting his education. They had focused... Show

They want nothing but the best for them, even if it means going out of the way. Jacobs s mother
didn t like the way the special Ed was only focusing of her son s inabilities to focus and get things
done, but when she pulled him out and decided that she would be the one to teach him she
ultimately knew that she had to concentrate on what he was able to do. She wasn t satisfied with
the way the school was teaching the special kids. I also am not satisfied with how they place
autistic kids or teens in our school system. Children with autism should be placed in classes that
their parents want them to be placed in, they shouldn t just be placed in a special class, because
the school feels that they are incapable of meeting the class standards. If the parents feel like
they should be placed in regular classes, they should be given special aides. As for teens with
autism, they should be able to choose where they want to be placed in regular courses with the
help of a special aide, or if they want to be placed in special classes. The children, teens, and
parents should be the ones to decide if they should be placed in regular classes, or special
classes, not the school. At my high school I met this boy in one of my classes, he didn t have
autism however he did have a hearing aide, and he couldn t speak. He was in one of my AP
classes, he was brilliant in that subject, and he always had one of the highest grades in the class,
I also had him for a regular class, he had a special aide there to help him with that subject. In the
class he had a special aide in he used her help minimally, he did everything that he could on his

  • 2. President Truman And President Dwight D. Eisenhower President Harry Truman and President Dwight D. Eisenhower were each president during the Cold War. Harry Truman became president during the end of World War II in 1945. His final term ended in 1953. Dwight Eisenhower became president in the midst of the Cold war in 1953 and his last term ended on 1961. Truman was Democratic and Eisenhower was Republican. They each had many occasions when their policies had similar intentions, but they went about them differently. Each wanted to end the fighting and to limit the spread of communism. They each also wanted to help strengthen other parts of the world. They tried to achieve these issues by enacting foreign policies in military, political and economic situations. Truman and Eisenhower each wanted to help limit the increasing issue of communism. One approach they did was getting involved physically and militarily in the countries that were in need. The peace conference at Potsdam was a failure, because communist Russia still stood on their own and as their own separate nation. The Soviet Union had already succeeded in conquering Poland, and much of Europe splitting up Germany. After Hitler committed suicide, the main obstacle for the United States and many other countries was to avoid the looming threat of communism. Truman created the Truman Doctrine to possibly stop or postpone this issue. I believe, he argued, that it must be the policy of the United States to support free people who are resisting attempted subjugation by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Nautilus V. Biosig Instruments I.Clear Error Standard on Appeal For Subsidiary Factual Matters A.Teva Pharm. USA, Inc. v. Sandoz, Inc., 135 S. Ct. 831 (2015) The Supreme Court held that when reviewing a district court s resolution of subsidiary factual matters during patent claim construction, the Federal Circuit must apply the clear error standard, not a de novo standard of review. 1.Background The owner of a patent covering a manufacturing method for a multiple sclerosis drug brought an action against marketers of a generic version of the drug, alleging infringement. The marketers filed counterclaims seeking declaratory judgment of non infringement, unenforceability, and invalidity. The United States District Court for the Southern District of New construed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the original appeal in this case, the Federal Circuit reversed and remanded the district court s finding of indefiniteness under the premise that a claim is indefinite only when it is not amenable to construction or insolubly ambiguous. The Supreme Court in Nautilus v. Biosig Instruments Inc. 134 S.Ct. 2120, 2124 (2014) in its decision articulated the standard A patent is invalid for indefiniteness if its claims, read in light of the specification delineating the patent, and the prosecution history, fail to inform, with reasonable certainty those skilled in the art about the scope of the invention. In light of the new standard set forth by the Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit addressed only the issue of indefiniteness on remand. The question before the court was whether the district court erred in holding that the spaced relationship as recited in claim 1, and referring to the spacing between the common and live electrodes, was not distinctly pointed out and particularly claimed in the patent in violation of 35 U.S.C. • 4. Synthesis Of Esters Esters aromas are very distinct and often pleasant, they are often used in food aroma and fragrances. Esters chemical properties are distinguished by their low molecular weight and low boiling points, caused by their dipole dipole and dispersion interactions; additionally, esters cannot form hydrogen bonds. Esters are the result of a condensation reaction, in which a carboxylic acid, an alcohol, and acid catalyst creates a water molecule and an ester. In a condensation reaction the carboxylic acid and alcohol react in a way that causes at least one alkyl or benzene ring group replaces a hydroxyl(OH) group. Amides like esters can be formed by a condensation reaction involving carboxylic acid, which reacts with amine, to form an amide and water.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the dried mass of the product the balanced equation of the reaction, between 4 aminophenol and acetic anhydride can be calculated. The percent yield of said product can then be calculated by divided the calculated mass by the theoretical mass. Using the characteristics of alcohols and pH, the 4 aminophenol and acetaminophen produced can be tested to categorize which are alcohols and the pH of each. In the Cerium Test the reaction between [Ce(H2O)6]4+ and HO R(alcohol) will produced [(H2O)5Ce O R]3+, the (R) group will produce a color change in the product allowing for the characterization of a reactant as either an alcohol or not. In the Universal Indicator Test adding universal indicator to an aqueous mixture of any alcohol, amide, or amine will result in a color change, red for acidic and blue for basic. Then by using the knowledge that alcohols and amides register as pH neutral and amines register as slightly acidic allows for the characterization of the reactant as an alcohol or amide, or as an amine. In the last part of the experiment, an alcohol and an acetic acid will react in an esterification reaction to produce an ester. Using the ester odors in the known ester banks, the unique aroma of each ester will allow for a categorization of each ester produced. Lastly, retrosynthetic analysis can be used to ... • 6. Comparing Mending Wall And Tear Down This Wall A world without walls is the only sustainable world... Bill Clinton s statement about walls relates to both Frost s Mending Wall and Reagan s Tear down This Wall . In each of these texts, nobody wants the wall up because it causes both physical and emotional unstableness for families and friends. In Reagan s speech it shows that they can t get supplies they need, they are cut off from the rest of the world, and kept away from family. In Frost s text it shows that people remain lonely because they can t see friends, and they can t form new friendships because the wallprevents new friendships from happening, also only the neighbor wants the wallso it causes emotional conflict. So as anyone can tell, the walls only cause problems both physically and emotionally for everyone. The theme of separation is present in both texts. On the other hand, Reagan is shooting people as they try to climb over the wall. This wall keeps them cut off from the rest of the world, and unable to gain supplies. • 7. Relationship Between Gas Station Exercise On The People... With this course, I have learned that it is possible to dramatically improve my ability to negotiate. I can improve my monetary returns and feel better about myself and the people with whom I deal. I also learned that there are several ways to test my own intuition and approach. The course provided me with an opportunity to assess my instinctive bargainingstyle and provides suggestions for how to further develop my bargaining abilities. The negotiation exercises was a good way to cement several of the concepts from the book and lecture and gave me several opportunities to get to know my classmate more and test some new insights with them. Gas station exercise: my team shouldn t have been too worried about the other station s profits. We should only have been concerned about maximizing our own profits. Even though our profits depend on both our choices in pricing and the choices of the other station. However, our main concern should be our own profit picture. If the other team do well or do poorly, that shouldn t be a big concern of ours. You should simply do as well as you can to boost your own profits as much as you can. At the start of the game, we had a plan and actually documented the minimum amount we expected to make and wrote this down. We also agreed on who would go to meet with the other team to let them know our position. The preparation gave us the peace of mind that comes with having a game plan. I believe planning gave us confidence during the exercise. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Albrecht Durer Influence Albrecht Durer was a German known for his engravings and painting throughout Europe. He lived from 1471 1528 and during that time made a great impact on the world of art. Durer was raised by his father and godfather, who were a goldsmith, and printer/publisher, respectively. From these men he learned his basic art skills such as drawing and woodcutting. His experience with his family as a child lead to his expertise in painting, printmaking, engraving, math, and theology. Durer, also often thought about the different proportions that are seen in a human body, which influenced his future work, such as his Adam and Eve paintings. Both, Adam and Eve are shown to be tall and muscular. Durer did not put too much detail in the background because he did not want the background to be a distraction from the beauty of Adam and Eve. Adam appears to be hesitant in the painting, with his right hand open in an almost defensive kind of matter. Eve on the other hand looks like she is trying to persuade Adam of something. The painting is an example of implied time and motion because these actions are being implied and it is hard to know for sure what the actual motions will continue to be, all we know for sure is that both characters have different things on their mind by the way they are holding their bodies and their facial ... • 11. The Revolution of 1688 The Glorious Revolution, also known as the Revolution of 1688, refers to the events of 1688 1689. These events eventually led to the overthrow of Catholic King James II and the ascension (of William III and Mary II) to the English throne. These events also produced a significant shift in the relationship between the monarchy and parliament. This paper will discuss the overthrow of King James II, the rebellion and revolt and the consequences as well as the global effects of the Revolution in order to explain the importance of this event in world history. James II, king of England from 1685 1688, inherited a very strong position when he came to power. When James II first came to the throne, he was not very well liked in the eyes of the people of Great Britain, simply because he was a Roman Catholic King to an overwhelmingly Protestant nation. Like most politicians, James made promises to protect the peoples personal beliefs. At the beginning of his reign, James had promised to respect his subject s rights and liberties and protect the Protestant establishment in the church. Despite these promises, James decided to advance the Catholic tenets over the protestants. He did this by issuing dispensations to Catholics including the Test Act of 1673, promoting the public celebration of mass, forcing the universities to admit Catholics, issued a Declaration of Indulgences and also engaged a campaign to pack Parliament so that he would be able to establish Catholic tolerance by ... In the lawsuit, Cisco alleged that Huawei stole intellectual property by copying its Internet Operating System (IOS) software and its copyrighted user manuals. Huawei, on the other hand, chose to make shortcuts and had complete disregard for the sanctity and legality of intellectual property. In fact, Huawei s Vice President confessed that all the world s leading equipment suppliers are our learning modules. • 15. Narrative Voice Of The Yellow Wallpaper By Charlotte... Charlotte Perkins Gilman aptly used narrative voice to shape the meaning of The Yellow Wallpaper, by writing a first person narrative about a woman who slowly loses herself to madness. This voice is one of a woman who may possibly have post partum depression or some other form of manic depression, and her unheard cries for help. She slowly draws within herself, and allows the insanity to take over. Within the first few paragraphs we learn general characteristics about the narrator: she is middle class, as indicated by the phrase mere ordinary people (354); we also learn that she is married, suggested a statement about John laughing at her, something she says is only expected in marriage. Though we are never given her name, these generic aspects just might be more important to the progression of the story than her actual identity or personal history. No longer distracted by trying to find clues in her past that may take away from the plot, we are able to focus on the slow degeneration of a woman s mind through a journal she keeps. Narrative voice continues to morph throughout the tale, and her level of sanity is directly related to her level of reliability. The story continues through eleven different entries, each showcasing a deeper phase of madness. Every time she returns to write again, her mental condition worsens, as well as her reliability. By the final entry, we see she is somehow managing to journal while she has a full mental breakdown something that would not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reaction mole ratio of sodium carbonate to copper chloride (II) was controlled from 1.08 to 1.68. Fig. 1 shows the XRD patterns of copper carbonate powder. At a reaction ratio of 1.08, paratacamite (Cu_2 Cl(OH)_3 ), beside alkali coppercarbonate, was formed because of incomplete reaction at a copper content of 53.9 wt%. Lack of sodium carbonate may cause incomplete reaction with copper chloride (II) because of low pH (6.0) of the solution [12]. The copper content according to the reaction moleratio were 57.7, 50.5, 58.8, 59.3, and 59.8 wt% at the reaction mole ratios of 1.20, 1.32, 1.44, 1.56, and 1.68, respectively.... In this study, most of the manufactured copper carbonate was converted to malachite basic copper carbonate of bright green at the reaction mole ratio of 1.20. In the case of low reaction ratio of sodium carbonate, m, the stoichiometric coefficients of CuCO3, is higher than n, the stoichiometric coefficient of Cu(OH)2, so that the amount of CuCO3 is generated is more than that of Cu(OH)2. With increasing reaction mole ratio of sodium carbonate, m is lower than n so that the generation rate of CuCO_3 is lower than that of CuгЂ–(OH)гЂ—_2. Therefore, copper content increased with increasing sodium carbonate. With assumption of same value of m and n, theoretical copper content becomes 57.5 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Each Career In The Science Field Comes With Its Own Set Each career in the science field comes with its own set of challenges. Aspiring wildlife biologists and current scientists should know what the major challenges are in the field. Wildlife biologists struggle to find a permanent job in general. There is a considerable amount of research projects that rely on the government s funding (Wildlife BiologistsCareers: Job Description Salary Info). Funding from the government can be limited, which puts time constraints on projects. Often, people do not realize how important biologists are to their environment and do not care to know the impact, they, as regular citizens, have on their world. This, consequently, pushes research to the side when it comes to funding. This career is not one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because donations tend to run out quickly and volunteers may only be able to work for short periods of time before they need a permanent job, organizations such as WWF have a high turnover rate of workers. Considering the government is not able to finance every biology project needed, donations are essential and only come from people who are adequately informed about what biologists do for their environment. Organizations, such as the World Wildlife Fund, rely on volunteers and donations from people surrounding the research area. People must care about for the environment to help it; bringing awareness to everyone will help funding and eventually create new and permanent jobs for scientists in this occupation. Jane Goodall, a primatologist who has been studying primates, such as apes and chimpanzees, for over fifty years, states, Only if we understand can we care. Only if we care will we help (Denys 106). In other words, it is imperative that people be informed in order to help biologists. The public s knowledge of their environment could help bring awareness to wildlife organizations and government associations that help fund biologists. Overall, a properly educated public can better understand what wildlife biologists do and citizens are more likely to help through volunteering or donating to research projects. According to my results, the metformin hydrochloride tablets dissolved at a faster rate in the simulated stomach acid with less alcohol, and therefore, more acidic. This conclusion, proves the hypothesis stated above. As predicted, the simulated acidwith less traces of alcohol was a more suitable environment for the medicine to dissolve at a faster rate. Consequently, the tablets took a longer time to dissolve in the acid with a greater concentration of alcohol. In consideration of the uncertainties, the two graphs above show that as the pH level increases and becomes more basic, the amount of time for the tablets... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When measuring out the substances for this experiment, an individual could get random errors when slightly different values are collected each time they perform the measurement. Systematic errors, on the other hand, are more difficult to detect but can be avoided if an individual looks for them with care. A systematic error can occur in this experiment if the chemicals that are used are expired or when the scales that are being used have been tampered with beforehand. Aside from random and systematic errors, there are a few limitations in the design of this experiment. The use of small graduated cylinders can provide inaccurate results for the experiment. Since the smaller cylinders can only hold a small amount of acid, there is a possibility that the solutions can undergo supersaturation, when a solution contains more of the dissolved material than could be dissolved by the solvent. In a case that this happens, it would be difficult to predict when the tablet stop dissolving in the solution. Therefore, due to the number of errors that could be made in this experiment, the results are a little unreliable unless changes are made during the procedure and design of the lab set ... • 35. Observation as a Social Work Tool and Skill Essay This assignment is going to look into observation as a social work tool and skill. Firstly, it is going to briefly describe the observation. Secondly it will analyse the interactions using a reflective approach. And finally, it will look into some relevant social work skills and values that relate to the discussed topic. The observation exercise was carried out on the upper deck of a London Bus on a weekday evening and lasted approximately fifteen minutes. The subjects of the observation were a male in his late twenties that appeared to be of Afro Caribbean origin and a female of a similar age with an Eastern European accent. The male was wearing a tracksuit and had a set of headphones hanging over his shoulders. The girl was dressed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, by being an anonymous observer a degree of spontaneity could be achieved. Moreover Tanner and Turney (2000, p344) argue that the absence of active participation can give the practitioner the opportunity to think about and digest what is both seen and felt . Although I was not actively participating I did feel emotionally engaged during the observation. There were times during the observation in which the girl s body language did not match what was being said. In one occasion, the male asked her where she was going to which she replied: I am going to meet a friend at the pub . From an observer perspective she looked uncomfortable, her body moving away from the male while fiddling with her mobile. At that point the male persistent questioning made me feel uneasy too. I understood the complexity of Schon s (cited in Briggs 1999, p148 149) idea of reflection in action ( being able to reflect during practice encounters ) taking into consideration the range of factors, such as thought and emotions, involved in the process of observation. Once the observation had finished I felt relieved and a bit bewildered. On later reflection I have come to realize that the emotional state that I underwent during that process might have had a direct relationship with my own personal values and the conscious need to observe in a way in which I was ... • 36. Enough Is Enough Alain De Botton When is Enough, Enough? In his chapter Equality, Expectation, and Envy of his book Status Anxiety, Alain de Botton analyzes the social anxieties of people. In his article, Botton explains the possible causes of these dilemmas, and how these social issues affect our generation today. Throughout the chapter, Botton discusses peoples longing to be better, the impact of equality on the world, and the realistic results of high expectations and hopes. Although modern society seems to have had a tremendous improvement of resources over many generations, people fear that enough is not enough. Society strives for more and better things, even when they already have more and better things. Botton explains that we decide our wants and set our limits by comparing ourselves to our reference groups (Botton 25) A reference group is an assemblage of people in similar conditions as our own. We suddenly become hateful and envious when someone that we correspond and relate to is more dominant and successful than us in whatever way. In addition to comparisons and envy, Botton discusses how we only compare ourselves to people in our reference groups. In our society, it is easy to know when someone may have had more or ... Slaves were not considered people and lived a life of servitude; they could not build their way up to a higher position. Or perhaps there was too much noise to be able to pick out clear indicators of the pending economic turmoil. It caused a run on repos, similar to the bank runs traditionally seen in prior financial crises (Gorton and Metrick 279). However, the bank run came in the form of large banks concerned with the failure of other large banks, which had not traditionally occurred. Accordingly, the stock market crashed as the last remaining shreds of confidence exited the markets and a herd mentality ensued globally. • 45. The Gaze On Women s Cinema Abigail Brill Long Proposal 24 February 2015 The Gaze on Women in Cinema Cinema has a very powerful influence on us, whether we are aware of it or not. Cinema tells us, in a way of reflection, how we are to act and respond as a society. For example, in movies women with body hair are portrayed as shamed, unhygienic, and usually rejects to sexual advances. I ve started to recognize these consistent stigmas, but this is just one example of what I believe makes the male gaze so successfully prevalent in American cinema. Starting in the 1970s, women have been portrayed in film through various misogynistic lenses: the male gaze, voyeurism, and sexual objectification; these lenses are still rampant today in modern American film. Apparently,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These films are not creative; they are mere replications of an era in film started as early as the 1960s. American film has been using the enticing appeal of women s bodies to subtlety promote aggressive voyeurism since films such as Hitchcock s Rear Window, and David Lynch s film Blue Velvet. Voyeurism and spectatorship are exemplified in Hitchcock s film Rear Window from 1954. The film is focused around the situation of the main character, Jeff, looking through his binoculars into a woman s apartment across from him. The film employs a powerful photographic lens with its use of cut shots that only show Jeff s optical perspective. Hitchcock uses a standard eyeline match pattern, cutting from a shot of Jeff looking to a shot of what he sees. Since there is no establishing shot that shows both Jeff and the opposite apartment, the Kuleshov effect operates here: our mind connects the two images. More specifically, the second shot represents Jeff s optical viewpoint, and this is filmed from a position on his end of the axis of action. The camera has not crossed a line. We are strongly restricted to what Jeff sees and what (he thinks) he knows. It is grappling with the fundamentals of unemployment, increasing inflation, current account deficits, negative growth, and zero interest rates along with it, depreciating the value of money. In the midst of all this the future of the U.S. dollar is uncertain. Will the dollar maintain its reserve currency status even after its depreciation and regain faith of the nations? When it comes to the topic of judicial system in America, most of us will readily agree that it needs to be reformed. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of who will step forward and make changes to the court system. Whereas some are convinced that no one is going to do anything about it, others maintain that the government will be the savior by making the changes. In the introduction of Just Mercy: A Story of Justice And Redemption, by Bryan Stevenson an American lawyer, social justice activist, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, and a clinical professor at New York University School of Law Stevenson emphasizes that people are not being treated fairly in the judicial system of America. The book was written to give readers a close up look on mass incarceration and extreme punishment given in America. Convincing the readers is not easy, except if the author uses strategic techniques such as ethos, pathos, and logos. It is even more tough if the topic is sensitive and debatable as this one. Key Idea 2 In a moment my hand was on the lever and I had placed a month between myself and these monsters. What a classic, wonderfully imaginative science fiction sentence. The story is completely and utterly engrossing. The fact that the book was published in 1895 and science lovers can still love and appreciate this book and H.G. Wells ... • 54. Reality Boy Theme Through the beginning to the middle of November, I read the book Reality Boy by A.S. King. Reality Boy is about Gerald Faust, a kid in highschool who had his whole childhood screwed up because he was on reality TV. His mom thought he was retarded, his sister constantly beats him up, and the whole world laughed in amusement as they watched him take craps everywhere. The book was interesting because he started out as a kid known as The Crapper and he was able to turn his life around for the better. The theme of this novel is that even though you have experienced awful things in your life and has been screwed inside and out, you can still overcome the obstacles that stand in your way of success. For example, on page 260, A.S. King writes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a lot of adult themed topics throughout the book like sex, cursing, and many others. A young reader, for example, my sister who is eight years old, shouldn t be reading this because nobody wants an eight year old kid going around and yelling F*K THIS S**T! (King 104). I am pretty sure you get the picture with the other topics. I recommend that librarians should put a warning label or a parental advisory sign on it or something because this book should not be in our library and especially an elementary s library. Speaking of this book, I give it an 8 out of 10. It is interesting and funny at some points, but I just didn t like how his entire childhood was ruined because of his family. I really wish that there were less cursing in it because most of it is unnecessary. But, if this book was in a series, I would definitely read it. In conclusion, Reality Boy by A.S. King is an interesting but inappropriate boo, but for me it was a pleasure to read it. I liked ho Gerald, whose life was turned upside down, turned it rightside up and made it better for himself and for everyone around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Should Autistic Children Be Placed In Special Schools For many years people have discussed whether autistic children or teens should be placed in regular classes, given special aides, or if they should be placed in special classes. In the book, The Spark, by Kristine Barnett, it talks about how Kristine s son, Jacob, otherwise known as Jake, was diagnosed with autism at age two, yet he overcame all of the stereotypes placed on autistic children. Jacob was in a special Ed class, but his mother pulled him out because he was not making any progress. She decided to prepare Jacob for mainstream kindergarten, all on her own. She knew that the special Ed class was helping him learn or retain the information being taught to him, it wasn t helping him at all, it was hurting his education. They had focused... Jacobs s mother didn t like the way the special Ed was only focusing of her son s inabilities to focus and get things done, but when she pulled him out and decided that she would be the one to teach him she ultimately knew that she had to concentrate on what he was able to do. She wasn t satisfied with the way the school was teaching the special kids. I also am not satisfied with how they place autistic kids or teens in our school system. Children with autism should be placed in classes that their parents want them to be placed in, they shouldn t just be placed in a special class, because the school feels that they are incapable of meeting the class standards. If the parents feel like they should be placed in regular classes, they should be given special aides. As for teens with autism, they should be able to choose where they want to be placed in regular courses with the help of a special aide, or if they want to be placed in special classes. The children, teens, and parents should be the ones to decide if they should be placed in regular classes, or special classes, not the school. At my high school I met this boy in one of my classes, he didn t have autism however he did have a hearing aide, and he couldn t speak. He was in one of my AP classes, he was brilliant in that subject, and he always had one of the highest grades in the class, I also had him for a regular class, he had a special aide there to help him with that subject. In the class he had a special aide in he used her help minimally, he did everything that he could on his own, he only used her when we had to speak in front of the class. He was extremely outgoing, and he played soccer, he enjoyed playing so much, he never let his impediment get to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
