(1) Earthquakes are caused by the movement of tectonic plates. There are different types of plate movements that can cause earthquakes.
(2) The largest earthquake in India was the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, also known as the Bhuj earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.7 and killed between 13,805 and 20,023 people.
(3) The most recent earthquake in India was the 2021 Assam earthquake near Dhekiajuli, Assam on April 28, 2021, which had a magnitude of 6.4 and resulted in two deaths and 12 injuries.
This PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) is a case study of the Bhuj Earthquake 26th January 2001, prepared by my friend Nitin. I'm uploading this PPT inly because it may useful to some one in their study.
An earthquake (also known as a quake, tremor or temblor) is is the shaking of the surface of the Earth, resulting from the sudden release of energy in the Earth's lithosphere that creates seismic waves. Earthquakes can range in size from those that are so weak that they cannot be felt to those violent enough to the people around and destroy whole cities.
Incorporated Research Institue for Seismology does an amazing job at providing detailed information shortly after large earthquakes. Learn more at: http://www.iris.edu/hq/retm
GEOGRAPHY IGCSE: EARTHQUAKES. It contains: earthquakes, energy and epicentre, measuring the power, effects of an earthquake, factors affecting the impact, earthquakes and volcanoes in LEDC and MEDC. Kobe 1995, Kashmir 2005.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

There are three types of movement
4. Effects of
earthquakes
Earthquakes causes Shaking ,
ground rupture , Soil liquefaction

Floods and loses on human
made impacts like roads
buildings etc.
5. EPICENTRE
The epicenter is the point on the
earth's surface vertically above
the hypocenter (or focus), point in
the crust where a seismic rupture
begins. Epicenter &
Hypocenter. Before the instrumental
period of earthquake observation,
the epicenter was thought to be
the location where the greatest
damage occurred, but the
subsurface fault rupture may be long
and spread surface damage across
the entire rupture zone.
6. The Richter scale
It is a measure of the strength
of earthquakes, developed by Charles
Francis Richter and presented in his
landmark 1935 paper, where he called it
the "magnitude scale". This was later
revised and renamed the local
magnitude scale, denoted as ML or ML .
7. Earthquake
in bhuj
The 2001 Gujarat earthquake, also
known as the Bhuj earthquake,
occurred on 26 January, India's
52nd Republic Day, at 08:46 am
IST. The epicentre was about
9 km south-southwest of the
village of Chobari in Bhachau Taluka o
f Kutch District of Gujarat, India.
8. The horror
of the
earthquake
The intraplate earthquake measured
7.7 on the moment magnitude scale
and had a maximum felt intensity of
X (Extreme) on the Mercalli intensity
scale. The earthquake killed
between 13,805 and 20,023
people (including 18
in southeastern Pakistan),
injured another 167,000 and
destroyed nearly 340,000 buildings.

2021 with a richter scale magnitude of
6.4.The quake struck at a depth of 34
km (21 miles), 140 km (86 miles) north
of the main city of Guwahati. It resulted
in two fatalities and at least 12 injuries.
