Earth Data Inc. was awarded a $50,000 grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to develop a design guidance manual for an innovative agricultural stormwater containment practice installed by Sam Owings on his farm. The practice is designed to reduce nutrient and sediment loading into Hambleton Creek. The manual will provide parameters for siting and sizing the practice and identifying opportunities for nutrient offsets. It will also address general operation and maintenance requirements. The ultimate goal is to receive verification of the practice as an innovative conservation method that efficiently reduces nitrogen, phosphorus and sediment pollution.
