There were several human species that evolved over time and developed increasingly advanced tools. Australopithecus afarensis from 4-1.2 million years ago used basic tools like rocks and sticks but did not make tools. Homo habilis from 2-1.5 million years ago could make and use sharp stone tools to hunt and gather. Homo erectus from 1.6-80,000 years ago controlled fire, made axes and hunted in tribes. Neanderthals from 133,000-32,000 years ago had advanced stone tools and controlled fire well. Homo sapiens Cro-Magnon from 100,000-10,000 years ago invented sewing, bows and arrows,
