The Ancient Greece civilization started around 700 BC and ended in 146 BC after the
Roman victory at the battle of Corinth.

4. Social Structure
• The men that were free in Ancient Greece were
men that owned land, had money and was born
in the same place he lived in. On the other hand
slaves had no power at all and were bought by
families that needed help keeping organised. A
family that had a slave would have to give there
slave food, water, and other basic needs, as the
person was now there property. In a family the
slave would cook clean and do jobs no one else in
the family wanted to do.

5. Houses in the city
Men and women lived in different parts of the house, women lived in the back and upstairs part of the house, and men
lived anywhere else. Almost all houses in Greek villages were made of stone or clay , and the roof of a house would be
covered in tiles, or reeds. In Ancient Greece each house would usually have one or two floors, and the floor in each house
would be made of tiles, so that the floor wouldn’t get to hot. The Greek houses were designed for the hot summers, and
also to hold the heat for winter.

7. Food and Drinks of Ancient Greece
• In Ancient Greece humans ate
sea food such as fish, squid,
and octopus. Food like this
was very healthy because sea
food contains vitamins and
other nutrients. Also in most
families the mother and
daughter would usually cook
the meals and the husband
would shop for the food. The
drinks people had in Ancient
Greece included mainly wine
and water. Two other foods
that were important to the
Greek culture were cheese
and olives.

12. Childhood
• Most kids didn’t live that long they usually didn’t
live that long they usually only lived for a couple
of days after birth. If the kid was deformed
sometimes they would be abandoned at the top
of the mountain females were usually were
abandoned more often then males. Sometimes
the babies were rescued and would be brought
up as slaves workers. The children were usually
brought up by the moms and girls would get the
education and the father would learn the family
business or would learn trade.

13. Extra
• The childhood of Canada is so much more
different then the ancient Greece childhood.
One thing is that female and male at a young
age get treated the same. Also it is mandatory
to attend school in Canada and in ancient
Greece you would be lucky to get in school.
Also in Canada it’s legal to have slaves so that
kids can’t get abused. And in ancient Greece
most kids were slaves or adults and it was
pretty common to have own slave.

17. Clothing
• Most Greek men didn’t were a lot of clothing.
There were quite a lot of places were men
didn’t need clothing like for sports, swimming,
mines, and hot places this seemed practical
for men. Woman had to be decently covered
on there body unless you were a prostitute.
Rich and wealthy woman would cover there
their heads and lower face with a veil. Many
Greek men admired the naked body for a
point of view in the arts.

18. Art and Music
• The ancient Greeks most popular forms of art
are painted, painting, pottery, music,
sculpture, and architecture. Painting would be
a painting on a person, place, or thing. Also
pottery was hand mad with mud and
sculptures were life size and were usually
made on famous or important people. An
architect would make the architectiture
drawing which is man made and is usually
massive.
