The eagle is a bird of prey found in North America.

Habitat of the Bald Eagle
Bald eagles prefer living in areas close to bodies of
water. They can be found in wetlands, on the
coasts, near lakes or rivers, and in marshes.
Breathing
Bald eagles breathe air through their external
nares . The air goes into the lungs where it is
passed into the air sacs.
PREY
Fish is the primary food of bald eagles, but
they will eat a variety of other animals and
birds. Their prey items include waterfowl
and small mammals like squirrels, prairie
dogs, raccoons and rabbits.
Predators
Major predators of eaglets and their nests
include hawks, owls, and racoons.
Reproduction
They reproduce by laying
eggs.

A bald eagle's body is covered with
feathers.

They move by flying.

Eagles have the finest eyesight of any
animal on earth. A soaring eagle can
spot a rabbit over a mile away!
