What isTourism?
• Tourism is the act and process of
spending time away from home in pursuit
of recreation, relaxation, and pleasure,
while making use of the commercial
provision of services.
• Tourism, however, overlaps with other
activities, interests, and processes,
including, for example, pilgrimage. This
gives rise to shared categories, such as
“business tourism,” “sports tourism,” and
“medical tourism”.

The ‘E’ in E –Tourism depicts the blend of IT in
Tourism industry.This has revolutionised the way
people travel and organisations grow.
The definition of E –Tourism
E – tourism is the digitisation of all the processes and value
chains in the tourism, travel, hospitality and catering
industries that enable organisations to maximise their
efficiency and effectiveness.
