Introduction
 E recruitment is the process of attracting employees online using internet as
source.
Who is an electronic applicant?
 If someone completes a profile and forwards a resume in response to an
ad posted by an organization, he would be considered an applicant
Guidelines of EEOC for considering person
as an applicant
 An employer must take steps to fill a given job opening
 An individual must follow the employer’s standard application procedure.
 The individual must express interest in the opening. (In other words, casual
browsers are not considered applicants.)
Electronic resumes
 An electronic resume is a plaintext PDF or HTML document that provides an
employer with information regarding a job candidate's professional experience,
education and job qualifications

 Scannable resumes
 Cover letters
Scannable resumes
 Scannable/text-based resumes are basically devoid of all formatting: no bold type,
italics, underlining, bullets, fancy fonts, tabs, columns, or rule lines. Scannable
RECRUITING resumes, then, are text-focused as opposed to design-focused
Cover letter
 A cover letter is a written document submitted with a job application explaining the
applicant's credentials and interest in the open position
Chronological and Functional Resume
Formats
 The chronological resume is organized by job title with the most recent position
listed first. Applicants who submit chronological resumes generally have a history
of experience in one traditional field
 Functional resumes are arranged according to areas of skill and accomplishment.
They are typically submitted by applicants with diverse experiences in
nontraditional fields

 A job portal, also known as a career portal, is a modern name for an
online jobboard that helps applicants find jobs and aids employers in their quest to
locate ideal candidates

  • 5. Introduction  E recruitment is the process of attracting employees online using internet as source. Who is an electronic applicant?  If someone completes a profile and forwards a resume in response to an ad posted by an organization, he would be considered an applicant

Guidelines of EEOC for considering person as an applicant  An employer must take steps to fill a given job opening  An individual must follow the employer’s standard application procedure.  The individual must express interest in the opening. (In other words, casual browsers are not considered applicants.)
