 The role of a recruiter is to source qualified
candidates, screen them, and present them for
potential employment. While a recruitment
consultant may serve all industries, a technical
recruiter is a specialist, holding particular
knowledge of the technology industries, who is
therefore uniquely able to assist hiring
managers in creating realistic job profiles and
finding suitable candidates.
 Technical recruiters most often have some sort of
technical education and experience, be it self-taught or
through a technical university. They must keep current
with technology trends and understand the concepts
and principles involved with technical jobs. The more
qualified in a specific technical area a recruiter is, the
better suited he or she is to source, screen, and
recommend candidates in that particular area.
Understanding industry language and thought
processes involved within technical employment is
essential for a technical recruiter. Additionally,
technical recruiters often have strong capabilities in
building and fostering valuable professional
relationships, both with job candidates and with
human resource and technical departments.
