The document discusses managing technological change at an educational institution. It outlines the hardware and software resources available, and how the teaching and management cultures need to change to integrate technology effectively. A long term strategic plan is outlined to gradually introduce technology in a supported way through clear communication, training, getting feedback, and allowing for mistakes. Keys to success include keeping the process simple, providing resources, celebrating small wins, and accepting that not everyone will adopt the new technologies at once. Surveys and examples like successful blogs or conferences can demonstrate if permanent culture change has occurred.

Cappadocia is a region in Turkey known for its unique lunar-like landscape formed by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. The porous rock eroded into fairy chimneys and pillars. One of the best ways to see Cappadocia's expansive landscape is from a hot air balloon ride, which usually lasts an hour and ends with champagne. The region is also home to underground cities like Kaymakly, carved into the soft rock and used as shelters with rooms for storage, stables, and churches decorated with frescoes.

I was given group presentation assignment which had 40% of mark.
Each person was given around 10 minutes to speak. Our group chose
‘The World War II in Japan’. Actually this topic was unfamiliar and even I
had no confidence in public speaking. But I love challenging and decided
to work it out. So I had countless practice 2 weeks before the day of
presentation. Before 5 minutes my presentation, I couldn’t remember
what I practiced and I forgot what to say. I was so frustrated and
nervous, however, I tried to control mind myself. I reminded countless
times ‘I can do this, I know already my part and totally understand. Just
do not get nervous. I am just telling the story to my friends.’ Eventually,
it ended successfully. I wasn’t nervous and frustrated at all. I didn’t make
any mistake and after presentation, the lecturer said to me ‘I can feel
that you had a lot of practice and preparing.’ That time, I was almost
dying to be happy. My effort proved that I can do anything. This
assignments helped me regain my confidence.

Subject Tour & Travel Operation 2
I was given huge scale of assignment which is planning tour for
80pax together with classmates. We spent lots of time on this tour
through few months either a lot of effort. I was involved in marketing
so our department had to make all the promotional materials to
promote our trip. I felt sense of achievement. After that, we did fund
raising to cut down cost that we charged to guests.
As a result, we began to find supplier and sold sushi, cut fruits, jelly,
drink, nasi lemak and so on. It was great try for us and finally we sold
out our seats. In the end, we all finished our trip successfully. Our
guests were satisfied and we were either. Everything we prepared
were ended as we planned in terms of accommodation,
transportation, activities, and dinner party. This project was prepared
throughout few months and still satisfied what i have done it with my
classmates.

Subject Event Operation
This subject enabled me to practice and adapt theory in real event
that i l have learnt throughout my degree study. This Asia Euro
Conference was held throughout university and many of distinguished
people were invited. So our class, as staffs had to be accurate and
well trained so that not to make any mistake in front of guests. The
job given to me in this significant event was marketing department
and in practice, ushering. However i realized again that event
elements are mostly variable. For instance, suddenly staff was needed
in one of the venues, then i had to go to help them and after it's
settled, I had to get back to my position in LT20. Sometimes i was
asked questions that i know roughly only, then I had to make sure
that i would get back to that person. Ushering among large amount of
people was not even easy. And I learnt how to cooperate and
communicate with other people to operate the event successfully.

At first, I had feeling ‘It’s just expensive and it must be tough’
before we leave team building trip. However, now I can say it was
definitely good. We had each team which is consist of more than
10 people from different semester class. We got through all
activities and difficulties altogether. During the activities, we
could be friend either learnt how to play role in team, sociability
and how to be harmonious. The gladdest thing is our team won 1st
prize. When we finished first activity which is captain ball, we got
3rd
prize out of 4 teams. So our team was a bit depressed but we
cheered together again and again and finally our cheer worked
out. And then most of our team member thanked each other and
said ‘thank you, thank you, we made it together’. As a result, tired
schedule was not really obstacle. I’m sure we all had fun as well
as instructive lesson.
15. Date 8-9 May 2012
Place Taylor’s University
On early of May, Taylor’s held Borneo Jazz festival preview. It was
all day long event in 2days. One of our lecturers asked us who
want to be a volunteer for this event and I definitely joined. There
was no issued certification, pay for volunteer but I thought it
would be o ne of my experience. For 2 days, I and my friends’ job
were managing game booths. We just promote and wait for
people who want to play. Then when people came, we let them
know about game rules and sometimes played together.
Honestly I had dissatisfaction about my job since it was just
boring and actually only few people joined games. On the other
hand, I had thought all events must have this kind of boring part
but still somebody need to do own job. This time that boring part
was in charge of me so next time I will be in charge of more
exciting and bigger job in event. In the end, this event made my
desire of organizing event bigger and become more eager.

This internship was my first working experience that I have done
in oversea. Indeed, working in another country was not easy. I
had faced language barrier, cultural barrier and so forth.
However, though I had not gotten many tasks because mostly
they are dealing directly to clients thus any small mistake is not
accepted, I was able to observe what are the tasks for each of
them or structure of organization, how to communicate with
clients to generate more profit. Especially I could understand
what are the process of holding event in hotel and how to
coordinate events. I believe hotel should be involved in tourism
industry simultaneously with events as venue or accommodation
and one of the most effective ways to bring sales. As a result, this
internship opportunity allowed me to acknowledge work place
particularly hotel and to have higher desire to work in tourism
industry.
18. Throughout my 1 to 3 semester, I was able to gain a lot of
information and practical exercises especially specialized
in event and tourism through many experiences. I have set
up my own goal which is getting CGPA above 3.5 and I
managed to achieve my goal in every semester so far. Not
only numerical goal, also I planned to develop and improve
myself during my university life in terms of intrapersonal,
communication skill, interpersonal skill and also in moral
ethics and so forth. Furthermore, every at the end of
semester, writing portfolio allowed me to remind what I
have done in this semester and what is outcome through
particular subject and even I could evaluate myself. I
believe now what I need to do is doing my best towards
my future and accomplishing my degree successfully.
