What do you want to do with English? Aim:The aim of this task is to think about your difficulties of language learning and find the best ways to solve them.  Look at the following activities. Tick the important ones for you (as many as you want). You can add some other activities to the list if you want to. After choosing, give the sheet to the teacher.
Read a newspaper Speak on the phone Give a talk Write a letter Understand the news on the radio Read a novel Understand a film without subtitles Leave a message on an answering machine Remember new words Describe yourself orally 10 Activities
Give a talk Remember new words Understand a film without subtitles Speak on the phone Write an essay (students’ suggestion) 5 Important Activities
If you think you are, go to group A. If you think you are not, go to group B. For group A, share your strategies to learn giving a talk.  For group B, talk to your group members about reasons why it is difficult for you.                   Give a Talk Do you think you are good at giving a talk or not?
Group B, go and talk to group A about your difficulties.  Group A members, listen to group B people and choose the best strategies for them (with them!). Learning from Friends
Group A, report about group B’s difficulties.  Group B, report about strategies you have found. 1st Reporting
Group A, report about other strategies you have found for group B. Group B, report whether the strategies you found worked for you or not.  2nd Reporting (hometask)

  • 2. What do you want to do with English? Aim:The aim of this task is to think about your difficulties of language learning and find the best ways to solve them. Look at the following activities. Tick the important ones for you (as many as you want). You can add some other activities to the list if you want to. After choosing, give the sheet to the teacher.
  • 3. Read a newspaper Speak on the phone Give a talk Write a letter Understand the news on the radio Read a novel Understand a film without subtitles Leave a message on an answering machine Remember new words Describe yourself orally 10 Activities
  • 4. Give a talk Remember new words Understand a film without subtitles Speak on the phone Write an essay (students’ suggestion) 5 Important Activities
  • 5. If you think you are, go to group A. If you think you are not, go to group B. For group A, share your strategies to learn giving a talk. For group B, talk to your group members about reasons why it is difficult for you. Give a Talk Do you think you are good at giving a talk or not?
  • 6. Group B, go and talk to group A about your difficulties. Group A members, listen to group B people and choose the best strategies for them (with them!). Learning from Friends
  • 7. Group A, report about group B’s difficulties. Group B, report about strategies you have found. 1st Reporting
  • 8. Group A, report about other strategies you have found for group B. Group B, report whether the strategies you found worked for you or not. 2nd Reporting (hometask)
