Through the last years the e-government interaction has increased its importance for the
development of the Ecuadorian society as it became more technological, especially in the main
cities with people under 50 years old who are using the irreplaceable help of technology in
common actions. The majority of the governmental institutions have being implemented diverse
informatics systems to improve the offered services and the participation of the community with
the government, for example, the Presidency of Ecuador, the Ecuadorian Social Security, the City
Hall, Financial Institution (Governmental and Privates), the National Telecommunication
Corporation, Quito´s Electricity Enterprise and others.
The Presidency of Ecuador at the webpage shows all the information about laws, resolutions and
relevant information about or promoted by the president of Ecuador, including the videos of the
weeklies president’s speeches and links to some of governmental institutions.
The Ecuadorian Social Security has implemented online the services offered by providing to each
affiliate a password in order to access to the system with the corresponding profile. An employer,
for example, will be able to register and unregister the employees and any of their events, also
due the payment manually in a bank agency or automatically to the bank; an affiliate might be
able to visualize the job history, make a medical appointment to basic specializations, do the
process for retirement, asking for the funeral aid, in summary, common actions that do not need
the presences of the affiliates. In contrast some other procedures require the presence of the
affiliate with some other documents depending of the relevant of the action, for example register
a bank account to transfer the pension, to unlock the password after 3 wrong tries or timeout
during the security questions, to enable transfers over certain amount of money, between others.

As a separately entity of the Ecuadorian Social Security, the Bank of the Ecuadorian Social Security
gives to the affiliates multipurpose loans and mortgages after reaching certain requirements based
on the monthly payment of the employer or the volunteer affiliate, which are available online to
be done. In case of mortgages it is necessary to take all the documentation after fulfilling the
application in the webpage.
At the City Hall the mayoral service by its webpage let people to get administrative information
and the statement of the debts filter by the personal id number, the complete name or the id of
the real state for paying those amounts by an electronic funds transfer or credit card.
The Taxes Office also has in its main webpage, the information about all kind of taxation and new
laws or resolutions applied for the citizens and businesses additionally in the online section, the
citizens can upload the tax statement and at the end of this process it give the option to pay by an
electronic transfer fund or a receipt to pay at the at different financial institutions.
The National Telecommunications Corporation as the other government services on its webpage
show information of all the provided services by this entity and also by the number the owner
clients can check the bill to pay.
The Electric Enterprise of Quito, who is in charge of the energy in the capital of Ecuador, ask to
users to open an account linking with the personal id number and a register email, after this
requirement the client can access to the bill of the number of service register at the enterprise
corresponding to the id number.
Consider the improvement of electronic payment for services, the financial institutions are making
agreement with the services entities in order to offer the way of using electronic funds transfers to
clients for paying the bills, that is why these financial institutions have increase the security level
during this actions adding secret words registered in advance, coordinates from a card registered
for the account, cell phone texts and email messages notifications.
The rising of e-government implementation help optimizing peoples time, get require accurate
information, fulfill on time duties of the community and spend more time with family, friend and
in personal projects.
