This document is the second edition of the NIOSH Dust Control Handbook for Industrial Minerals Mining and Processing. It was created through collaboration between NIOSH and the Industrial Minerals Association-North America (IMA-NA) to provide information on proven and effective dust control technologies to help reduce worker exposures to respirable dust in minerals mining and processing. The handbook contains 14 chapters that describe dust sources for various processes and control strategies to help operators and workers reduce dust levels and eliminate occupational lung diseases caused by dust exposure. It is intended to help minerals industry personnel apply state-of-the-art dust control practices to protect worker health.
