How to Prevent an International Incident: Communicating with Global TeamsMeredith Kramer
Technical communication has gone global. Modern technology allows us to work with subject matter experts or other writing colleagues in other time zones and different environments, all coordinating and working towards the common goal of producing something meaningful.
Whether you work with someone down the hall, in another state, or halfway around the world – communication is key. Learn ways to avoid having a frustrated team struggling with a project that will be late and over budget due to communication issues.
Accomplished Systems Engineer with more than 11 years of experience in leading global, large scale integration activities across systems, software architecture and system test environments. Extensive expertise in identifying, evaluating and documenting complex requirements for system integration. Adept at assessing, monitoring and tracking to completion program/project risk and opportunities. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with engineering, leadership, subcontractors and clients. o Primary Project Engineer on transonic and supersonic testing oftechnologically improved existing
missile-body aircraft for leading DoDcontractor. Adapted previously developed control system to
achieveaerodynamic trim and simulate “fly the mission”conditions in the wind tunnel. Managed test
project from initial rough order ofmagnitudecost estimate through delivery offinal data and
technical report. Coordinated and directed efforts ofengineers and skilled laborsupportthroughout
the planning, execution, analysis, and reporting phases ofthe test program. This test used rotary
encoders to position the canards. The encoders malfunctioned during pre -test checkout. Directed
efforts and participatedin failure analysis. Determined malfunction was caused prior to delivery.
Coordinated repairand replacementand completed testing with 100%ofcustomerobjectives met.
