Product Idea.(Solar Booster ) ….
Introduction
 Photovoltaic (PV) cells have emerged as a very
promising substitute to conventional energy . The
majority of these solar cells are silicon-based.
 Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs)do not contain
silicon ,and are relatively easy and cheap to
make.
Activity 1: Investigating
photosynthesis of plant disks
 Objective :watch for oxygen production
.
 Procedure:
1. We put 200ml 1% solution of sodium
bicarbonate in a beaker and add few
drops of soap.
2. Cut leaf disks with hole puncher then
infilrate them with the sodim bicarbonate
solution.
3. We prepared 3 of 50ml beakers and in
each we put 10 disks and filled with
bicarbonate solution to ¾ the cup.
4. Put the beakers directly under light then
as soon as opening the light one without
 Result
 Conclusion: the activity showed photosynthesis with
in take of CO2 and release of o2 as the disks carry
out photosynthesis in presenc of light ,oxygen is
released inside the leaf increasing its volum &
decreasing density , consequently the disks begin to
float .

Activity 2: Separating Leaf Pigments
Using Paper Chromatography
 Objective: to know how many pigments are in a leaf and their types.
 Procedure:
1. We cut a stripe of chromatography paper ,then we drawed a line
3cm from the bottom of the papaer using pencile.
2. We placed a leaf over the pencil line on the paper , then rolled a
quarter over the leaf so that a green line transfer to the paper .
3. We added 2cm of solvent to in the bottom of the test tube and
put the chromotography paper inside .
4. We wait until the solvent is 1cm from the top of the paper that
took 20-30 min
5. After that we removed the paper and marked the farthest
6. point of the solvents progress.
 Result:

 Objectives:have an idea of how large is the
internal resistance of solar cells.
 Procedure:
1. we placed the solar cell under light.
2. Using multimeter ,Measuring current in
ammeter mode,then measuring voltage in
voltmeter mode.
 Result:
Activity 3:Measuring Solar Cell’s
Performance (part a)
- The volt was 1.52v
- The current was
37.3 mA
- The resistance was
40.75Ω
Activity 3:Measuring Solar Cell’s
Performance (part b)
 Objectives:power different light bulbs with solar cells.
 Procedure:
1. We calculated the power of each bulb . P=Vx I
2. We calculated the resistance of each bulb .R=V/I
3. Placed the solar cell under light source then
connect the
bulbs to observe brightness, then rank bulbs by their
brightness.
 Conclusion: Maximum power transfered to a load
occurs when the resistance of the load matches the
internal resistance of the solar cell.
 Objectives:build a TiO2-based ,chlorophyll-sensitized
solar cell.
 Procedure:
 Result: as in photosynthesis ,the dye molecules in DSSC cell
generates a photoelectron when illuminated with light energy .
 Conclusion:in DSSC cell instead of doing chemical work as in
photosynthesis the photoelectron is injected to the TiO2
semiconductor . The electron is then used to produce electricity
when it is connected to a circuit.

 Introduction and Rationale:
- We know that renewable energy is the future and fossil
fuels will end in one day so Solar energy, DSSCs are so
important .
- The thing that made us think about this product is its
importance, aims to solves a lot of problems that we believe
their presence in the Qatari society as it is used in many
cases in Qatar for activation of muscles and circulation.
 Aim of the work (objectives)
 -We aim to improve physical therapy.( In
medicine), for instance in physical therapy in the
prevention of disuse muscle atrophy which can
occur for example after musculoskeletal injuries,
such as damage to bones, joints, muscles,
ligaments and tendons.
 - We aim to see a healthy ,fit and productive
society , the product can lead to exercise, since a
person toning his/her muscles with electrical
stimulation is more likely afterwards to participate
in sporting activities as the body is ready, fit,
willing and able to take on physical activity.

Hypothesis:
 Our Solar Booster will improve the physical
therapy sessions, increase local blood
circulation and it may improve arthritis
patients. Also maintain or increasing range of
motion, (makes a person more able to do
physical activities after toning his/her muscles
using solar booster), prevention or retardation
of disuse atrophy. Also, using DSSC makes
patients exposed frequently to sun, thus
decreasing vitamin D deficiency.

Results:
 Uses of the product :-
1- In medicine, EMS is used for rehabilitation purposes,
for instance in physical therapy.
2-If it doesn't burn calories then it make it users
participate in sporting activities as the body is ready,
fit, willing and able to take on physical activity.
We expect that it needs enough time and materials to
make DSSC numbers which can be connected
sequentially to give sufficient voltage for the booster
working.

Recommendations:
-Of course, we recommend to conduct more
research and studies concerning this product to
be improved and developed because we believe
in its importance .
Conclusions
(Overall)
 AL-Bairaq experience is a unique experience that
will delight any student go through it, starting with
the experiments that we have done which we
discovered a lot through them .
 Then we learned teamwork and co-operation to
carry out a poster presentation and a summary of
the product we worked as a team composed of
four students so we divide the tasks and each
member have done her job .
 Finally we opened the horizon for our mind and
our thinking to do a product or invention useful
for mankind.

Finally, we thank all who contributed to the end
of this project, we thank the outstanding team
AL-Bairaq, who led us through this journey and
we learned a lot .As we thank the teachers and
colleagues have helped and we are thankful for
our school that gave us support.

  • 3. Introduction  Photovoltaic (PV) cells have emerged as a very promising substitute to conventional energy . The majority of these solar cells are silicon-based.  Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs)do not contain silicon ,and are relatively easy and cheap to make.
  • 4. Activity 1: Investigating photosynthesis of plant disks  Objective :watch for oxygen production .  Procedure: 1. We put 200ml 1% solution of sodium bicarbonate in a beaker and add few drops of soap. 2. Cut leaf disks with hole puncher then infilrate them with the sodim bicarbonate solution. 3. We prepared 3 of 50ml beakers and in each we put 10 disks and filled with bicarbonate solution to ¾ the cup. 4. Put the beakers directly under light then as soon as opening the light one without
  • 5.  Result  Conclusion: the activity showed photosynthesis with in take of CO2 and release of o2 as the disks carry out photosynthesis in presenc of light ,oxygen is released inside the leaf increasing its volum & decreasing density , consequently the disks begin to float .   • 6. Activity 2: Separating Leaf Pigments Using Paper Chromatography  Objective: to know how many pigments are in a leaf and their types.  Procedure: 1. We cut a stripe of chromatography paper ,then we drawed a line 3cm from the bottom of the papaer using pencile. 2. We placed a leaf over the pencil line on the paper , then rolled a quarter over the leaf so that a green line transfer to the paper . 3. We added 2cm of solvent to in the bottom of the test tube and put the chromotography paper inside . 4. We wait until the solvent is 1cm from the top of the paper that took 20-30 min 5. After that we removed the paper and marked the farthest 6. point of the solvents progress.

  • 8.  Objectives:have an idea of how large is the internal resistance of solar cells.  Procedure: 1. we placed the solar cell under light. 2. Using multimeter ,Measuring current in ammeter mode,then measuring voltage in voltmeter mode.  Result: Activity 3:Measuring Solar Cell’s Performance (part a) - The volt was 1.52v - The current was 37.3 mA - The resistance was 40.75Ω
  • 9. Activity 3:Measuring Solar Cell’s Performance (part b)  Objectives:power different light bulbs with solar cells.  Procedure: 1. We calculated the power of each bulb . P=Vx I 2. We calculated the resistance of each bulb .R=V/I 3. Placed the solar cell under light source then connect the bulbs to observe brightness, then rank bulbs by their brightness.  Conclusion: Maximum power transfered to a load occurs when the resistance of the load matches the internal resistance of the solar cell.
  • 10.  Objectives:build a TiO2-based ,chlorophyll-sensitized solar cell.  Procedure:  Result: as in photosynthesis ,the dye molecules in DSSC cell generates a photoelectron when illuminated with light energy .  Conclusion:in DSSC cell instead of doing chemical work as in photosynthesis the photoelectron is injected to the TiO2 semiconductor . The electron is then used to produce electricity when it is connected to a circuit. Design Project: Making a Dye- Sensitized Solar cell.
  • 11. Product Idea Solar Booster  Introduction and Rationale: - We know that renewable energy is the future and fossil fuels will end in one day so Solar energy, DSSCs are so important . - The thing that made us think about this product is its importance, aims to solves a lot of problems that we believe their presence in the Qatari society as it is used in many cases in Qatar for activation of muscles and circulation.
  • 12.  Aim of the work (objectives)  -We aim to improve physical therapy.( In medicine), for instance in physical therapy in the prevention of disuse muscle atrophy which can occur for example after musculoskeletal injuries, such as damage to bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons.  - We aim to see a healthy ,fit and productive society , the product can lead to exercise, since a person toning his/her muscles with electrical stimulation is more likely afterwards to participate in sporting activities as the body is ready, fit, willing and able to take on physical activity. Product Idea Solar Booster
  • 13. solar booster Hypothesis:  Our Solar Booster will improve the physical therapy sessions, increase local blood circulation and it may improve arthritis patients. Also maintain or increasing range of motion, (makes a person more able to do physical activities after toning his/her muscles using solar booster), prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy. Also, using DSSC makes patients exposed frequently to sun, thus decreasing vitamin D deficiency.
  • 14. solar booster Results:  Uses of the product :- 1- In medicine, EMS is used for rehabilitation purposes, for instance in physical therapy. 2-If it doesn't burn calories then it make it users participate in sporting activities as the body is ready, fit, willing and able to take on physical activity. We expect that it needs enough time and materials to make DSSC numbers which can be connected sequentially to give sufficient voltage for the booster working.
  • 15. solar booster Recommendations: -Of course, we recommend to conduct more research and studies concerning this product to be improved and developed because we believe in its importance .
  • 16. Conclusions (Overall)  AL-Bairaq experience is a unique experience that will delight any student go through it, starting with the experiments that we have done which we discovered a lot through them .  Then we learned teamwork and co-operation to carry out a poster presentation and a summary of the product we worked as a team composed of four students so we divide the tasks and each member have done her job .  Finally we opened the horizon for our mind and our thinking to do a product or invention useful for mankind.
  • 17. Acknowledgment Finally, we thank all who contributed to the end of this project, we thank the outstanding team AL-Bairaq, who led us through this journey and we learned a lot .As we thank the teachers and colleagues have helped and we are thankful for our school that gave us support. Of course we wont forget to thank the sponsors who gave us the opportunity to participate in AL-Bairaq competitions, to create and be innovative .
