- The document discusses transnational early warning systems for floods within transboundary river basins in Africa. It focuses on the early warning ambition of ECOWAS and existing early warning platforms in the ECOWAS region. - There are several early warning systems already existing in the region but they have different aggregation levels, financial backgrounds, and produce redundant or inconsistent information. - The challenge is how to combine information from these various systems into a single region-wide early warning platform for ECOWAS. Various technical solutions are proposed to aggregate data from the different systems.
