The assessment was conducted to evaluate the impact of drought on agriculture, livelihoods, food security, access to water and sanitation, and hygiene practices in communities. Impacts and recommendations are provided in the following areas: 1) Agriculture - recommendations include providing drought-resistant seeds, livestock vaccination programs, and fodder in the short term, and improved water storage and road infrastructure in the long term. 2) Off-farm livelihoods - recommendations include food/cash-for-work programs in the short term and skills training programs to generate employment in the medium/long term. 3) Health and nutrition - recommendations include strengthening community management of acute malnutrition programs in the short term and improving access to healthcare in the medium
