This document describes the design and fabrication of a multipurpose drone. It aims to address deforestation after forest fires by using drones to plant seeds and spray fertilizer in hard to access areas. The drone will have a seed spreader, fertilizer sprayer, gas detection module, and rescue system to deliver supplies during disasters. It will also have surveillance capabilities. The document outlines the problem statement, concept, novelty, pros and cons, technical description of components, and applications of the multipurpose drone.
3. Forest fires act as the main reason behind deforestation. Forest fire causes mass destruction of forests
which invariably affects the vegetation cover, diversity of living species and balance of ecosystem.
Drones are Unmanned Aerial Vehicles that can be remotely controlled for various applications like Industrial
Inspections, Precision Agriculture, Disaster Rescue and supply of medical aid to victims, Defense surveillance
and monitoring .
Though Drones has wide applications being future technology, there is an overall lack of Unmanned aerial
vehicles around the world to address deforestation and restoration of forests.
The problem statement we have identified is to fabricate an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle which can able to
1. Plant seeds in forests after wildfire in mass scale.
2. Green inaccessible terrains with steep slopes where tree plantation activities are difficult.
3. Perform Multipurpose drone applications .

4. CONCEPT OF THE SOLUTION
The concept of our project is to fabricate a drone which can address the
crisis of deforestation after forest fires.
The major aim of our project is to Design and Fabricate a Multipurpose Drone for
1. Plantation of seeds using seed spreader,
2. Fertilizer sprayer which helps in growth of seeds.
With this major purpose we have added few multipurpose applications like
1. Gas Leak detection in Industries
2.Supply of Medical / Essential needs during disaster rescue
3.Life Jacket delivery during floods
4.Surveillance and monitoring
5. NOVELTY / SCOPE OF SOLUTION
We have a built an Unmanned aerial vehicle which serves as a tool to
safeguard and protect the balance of ecosystem. By using drones to plant seeds,
we have suggested UAVs as the future technology as to conserve forests, reduce
the effects of deforestation after wildfire and potentially include the possibility of
Greening the human inaccessible slopes and hilly terrains.
Along with the usage of planting seeds, we have added few more
applications like gas leak detection, Disaster rescue, surveillance and
monitoring to use this drones for Multipurpose applications.
6. PROS AND CONS OF THE SOLUTION
Pros
Provides the aerial seeding solution for rapid and scalable reforestation.
Provides the field survey and mapping of terrain systems that needs urgent attention.
Fertilizer spraying and continuous monitoring can be carried out to track the growth of plants sown.
Possibility of Planting trees in hilly terrains were human beings are unable to reach and access.

7. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
COMPONENTS AND ITS FUNCTIONS
Seed Spreader – storage vessel to carry seeds which uses micro servo opening and closing
mechanisms.
Fertilizer sprayer – spraying mechanism consists of 12v Dc motor along with 2 spray nozzles
which can be controlled by toggle switch using transmitters.
LPG module – sensor module is mainly intended to provide a means of comparing
propane and being able to set an alarm notification to mobile phone when
the source becomes excessive.
Rescue system – Rover system using telemetry can able to deliver life jackets during floods,
supply of medical needs during natural disasters.
Surveillance – surveillance system using camera for Land survey and monitoring of forest
searching
